First impression was i was extremely impressed with how clean the restaurant is. The place was spotless from the front door to the wall behind the register. I couldn't see the cooking area in the back. I decided to try this establishment because my regular Chinese Restaurant has become so hit or miss, with mostly misses. This location has very good shrimp lo-mein and I was thrilled to see moo-shu pork on the menu. I hadn't had that in a few years. It wasn't the best but it still tasted good. Service is fast and friendly. In an area that struggles producing decent Chinese food this location makes very good shrimp lo-mein. If this is your thing, try it. 5 stars for the lo-mein. read more

I used to be a frequent customer here, but after my most recent experience, I won't be returning. A friend was visiting from out of town, and I recommended this restaurant because I had always enjoyed the food in the past. Before placing our order, we specifically called to confirm details about one of the dishes because we wanted to make sure it matched the photo we were expecting. After a lot of back and forth with the staff, we were assured it was the correct dish. Unfortunately, when we got home, it was completely different from what we had confirmed over the phone. We called the restaurant, explained the situation, and asked for a refund for that one dish. We were told to bring it back so the chef could see it and that a refund would be processed. Instead of handling the situation professionally when we returned, the interaction immediately became defensive and uncomfortable. We were questioned about tasting the food, lectured about how the dish "looks different in pictures," and dealt with unnecessary back-and-forth over a simple refund request. Once the manager got involved, the refund was processed quickly, which made all of the earlier resistance feel even more unnecessary. Mistakes happen, and honestly, the incorrect dish wasn't even the main issue. What disappointed me most was the poor customer service and the way the situation was handled. I brought a friend here based on my past positive experiences, and unfortunately, this experience completely changed my opinion of the restaurant. read more

The food is good but I was concerned about the bright reddish orange color sauce on the chicken with mixed vegetables that I ordered. I've never gotten anything other than light brown colored sauce when I've ordered this dish at other Asian restaurants. Still our solid take out chinese food place. Hunan chicken is just the right amount of spicy amd vegetables. Normally comes with white rice but I upgraded to vegetable lo mein. Sweet and Sour chicken consistently perfect and the sweet and sour sauce perfect thick gooey goodness. Pork egg rolls always crunchy and packed. TEN MINIT !!! That's what they tell me every time I ask how long will it take. Seems to be the industry standard when it comes to how fast you will get your food. So I'm conveniently situated between 2 Chinese food takeouts close to my house, but I always find myself driving 4 more miles to go to Ho Ho China Wok for some reason. This is now our favorite Chinese food takeout and just perfect during this Lent season as we don't eat meat on Fridays. We always visit this place on a Thursday to buy for dinner and food for Friday. Our staple dish to go are the following: Shrimp Mein Fun - similar to Filipino Pancit without the calamansi, but I would still add something sour lol. Huge portion with lots of shrimps! Delicious! Shrimp Lo Mein - The Noodles itself packs a lot of flavor yet simple dish! Yummy! Wings with Fried Rice - Wings are very crispy and tasty and the fried rice is one of the best I have ever tried! It's the real deal! Authentic Chinese! We have also ordered other dishes such as: Singapore Mei Fun - The curry flavor was great but the noodles are very dry. Still good though. Mongolian Beef - One of their dinner specials, I like it because it has a lot of vegetables, but my husband said it has more onions than beef lol. He is a meat person:) Shrimp Chow Mein - This is a vegetable meal with protein. A little bit saucy but I liked it! Similar to Chopsuey sans the liver. Ho Ho China Wok recently opened at the Bartram Market and we have bee there twice since it's opening. Both times we have ordered the same thing: General Tso's Chicken, Honey Chicken, Bourbon Chicken, and Kung Pao Chicken. The General, Honey, and Bourbon were all the same both time. The General as you would expect, Honey Chicken has lighter batter then most places which is good, and the bourbon better then our other place. Plus for the dinner combo's some with chicken fried rice not pork fried and their fried is true fried rice not yellow rice with the veggies and pork in it. Now to the problem for me. Like I said we have come 2 times within a month. Once on a Sunday once on a Saturday. The issue, the Kung Pao Chicken was completely different each time. I loved what I got the first time on a Sunday. This time on a Saturday was not a fan at all. (look at pics). My first experience was for sure 4 maybe ever 5 stars. But since the second time I have to move it to 3 due to the Kung Pao. Maybe they have different chiefs on those days. Not sure yet though. But good news the guy who was working the register the second time was great. Great energy and seemed happy to see customers. Plus he give me a Chinese Calendar. honestly if it wasn't for the change in the Kung Pao I would be raving about this place right now. If anyone knows how to get the original Kung Pao let me know. Update from when I ordered 11/29/2020. Wanted to check back on the Kung Pao Chicken and ordered again. Told them the first time I had it was really good and the next time it wasn't as good. I described how it was the first time and they said they can make it that way. When I came to get it it was the same as the second time which I didn't like. Generally the food is pretty good but lacks consistency. I imagine it depends on who is working the WOK on a gieven day ,indicating not all are equally trained . Today I ordered my usual dish as vegetarian, chineese vegtables with fried rice . What I got was a bowl of dry rice with broccoli on top.No other vegtable in the mix and Dry Dry Dry almost inedible .Awful and very disappointing. Very good Chinese food and in a location that has tons of Asian options this one stands out! The only reason I did not give 5 starts is because the Kung Pao was cooked weird, it just wasn't what I was expecting. Everything else was great! The honey chicken and the general Tao were my favorites! So many flavors and the chicken to breading ratio was perfect.... absolutely perfect! For me so many restaurants serve small pieces of chicken coated in mass amounts of breading, but not here, they didn't cheap out! I can't wait to go back, I eat Asian food at least once a week so this will probably be my new spot on Sundays! I just hope they change up their Kung Pao and make it more like what typical Kung Pao tastes like. If the recipe changes I will update my review. So unfortunate! I called to let them know that my Egg Fu Youn was cooked in dirty oil and burnt. Wenur (she said that her name) told me that I have to bring the food back. I said I don't have time to drive all the way back up there. They are closed tomorrow, so she told me to put it in my refrigerator and bring it back on Tuesday! We move to JCP about six months ago from the Mandarin area. Since then we have tried several Chinese places that are close to us. I am pleased to say, we have found our place! When we order from a new place, we order more than we need so we can have leftovers and in case we get something we do not like. We ordered appetizers - crispy cheese wonton (aka Crab Rangoons), fried dumplings, pork egg roll. All were great! I love a good egg roll and these are packed with goodness. Next up, the Lo Mein. Any Chinese restaurant must have good Chicken Lo Mein or they just aren't worthy of my time. This place did not disappoint. Very good flavor! At this point, I looked at my husband and said "I think we have found our place." Lastly, the Hunan Chicken, this is one of those dishes that I keep ordering and it's never what I want it to be. Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit!!! Surprise!!! OMG, hands down the best friggin Hunan Chicken EVER! I have lived in Jacksonville for 24 years now and I have ordered Hunan Chicken so many times that say "hot and spicy" and everyone has been not at all. I've even asked for extra, extra spicy and nothing at all, just bland! This Hunan Chicken is not too spicy but it has some spice. I will be ordering again and asking for extra spicy. The chicken was so tender. Can you tell I was impressed? My husband got the Chicken with Cashew Nuts (not pictured). He said he really enjoyed it! Sweet & sour chicken, missing the chicken, literally. Nothing but bread, full of grease. Under cooked egg roll, and spring roll, gummy and unidentifiable on the inside. What I like about this place that is different from all of the other achievements take out restaurants is that their foods aren't greasy. The price is a bit higher than the other places but overall, I think its worth it. Taste wise, it's pretty much the same, and portion is also decent. It's hard to find a good chinese takeout restaurant, and my experience at others has been subpar. I decided to order takeout from this place today, with a little hesitancy based on prior experiences. I walked in and placed two lunch orders for bourbon chicken and shrimp lol mein. Normally bourbon chicken doesn't come in a lunch portion, but after the woman explained the sizing portions to me, I was able to order it in a lunch size. She told me it would be about 10 minutes for my order to be ready. I sat and watched people come in for orders placed online, and it seems that is the popular option versus me coming in and ordering. My order came out quickly, and I was able to pick up sauces before heading home. When I got home, the food was still hot and steamy, never losing heat. Both my fiance and I were very happy with our orders, so I'm sure we might be ordering from here again. It was also very reasonable too, under $15 for both orders. read more
