Their special hot stone pot is the one and only in town, super unique concept to eat your beef noodle soup. It comes with a variety of fresh meat that you can dip into the stone pot as you eat to keep the noodles fresh and boiling hot. Came here for dinner. The place retained the interior of the previous restaurant which is good, the design is beautiful and the space is welcoming. For appetizer, we got the fresh spring rolls with shrimp and chicken plus peanut sauce. It was good. For the mains, I got the Chicken Pho. Excellent broth, perfect with the cold weather. My husband ordered the Lemongrass Chicken. I super enjoyed the lemongrass chicken, it was very tasty! We both agree though, that the protein portion was on the small side. 3rd time the family enjoyed a great time and great food at this location. My favorite is the Homemade Wonton Soup and the fried calamari. Yummy! My wife and daughter have tried a different dish each time and loved every one. The place has a Zen feel with relaxing music and videos on the TV's of nice nature scenes. When busy obviously it gets a little loud but the food comes out fast and fresh and super hot, which is important when I order soup. When I like a place this much sometimes I'm reluctant to leave a great review because I don't want it to get too busy. The bao buns with pork belly were hot, soft, full of flavor, and recommend by the waitress. The pancit with shrimp was the perfect portion, and it was loaded with bell peppers, onions, carrots, shrimp, cilantro, and noodles. I was a first time visitor, and I really love this place! My mother has been looking for good Pho, and Zen was recommended by a Yelp colleague, Alanna. I'm glad I trusted our Yelp community with this excellent referral. While my mother loved the Pho, it's not really my style, so I had the Zen fried rice with pork which was absolutely delicious! I tried it first as-is, and then added a little Sriracha for some added flavor - It was delicious both ways. The menu is quite vast with plenty of selections for those who love authentic Vietnamese food, as well as those who are looking for something more neutral. Service was absolutely wonderful - I wish I remember the young man's name who helped us, since he was so kind. The setting is attractive and modern, and there are plenty of seating options including booths, tables, and a bar seating area. The quality of food is excellent, and the portions are quite large and they were kind enough to offer to-go containers at the end of our meal. Pricing was quite reasonable, averaging about $30 per person, including tip, tax, and drinks. Free parking is plentiful in the lot - my advice is that if you're coming across Racetrack road from the east, the Google directions are incorrect telling you to turn left a bit too early. Overall, a wonderful experience, very close to most of the Jacksonville Southside as well as Nocatee, Durbin Park, etc. We'll certainly be back. read more

My husband recently found this restaurant while looking for a good Pho place for his mother. I am really glad he did because it was great! The ambiance is also really nice. The menu offers about ten appetizers, ten rice bowls, ten Pho dishes, and a few other dishes. I opted for the sizzling platter. It came with beef tenderloin, onions, scallions and peppers in a garlic sauce, along with white rice and cucumbers and tomatoes. It looked and tasted great. My husband had the Zen fried rice bowl with pork. He also loved his dish. My mother-in-law had the first Pho bowl on the menu. She loved it. Service was fairly quick. Glad we got an actual good pho spot in St John's 210 area! Ordered the summer rolls with chicken and shrimp which were just as good as I've had at most pho spots. Tried their pho dac biet and was not disappointed. It only comes in one size which is large. The portions of meat were generous and the brisket was especially tender and delicious. It's a little pricier than the average pho joint but everything in this county is extra so I get it. Overall, had a nice meal. We love pho and noticed this newish restaurant that is close to our house. Service was very fast and the restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. I ordered a special stone bowl pho. I didnt know that it would come out with most of the meat uncooked and that you would add it at the table. I think I will order one without the stone bowl next time as it took a while to cool down enough for me to eat it. The flavors were very good though. My peach tea was oversweetened and we added water to be able to drink it. My wife got pancit with tofu and she liked her dish. What a disappointment! The reviews made it seem like this is the legit place to go for Pho. The place is easy to find, the restaurant itself is a good size, not overwhelmingly huge and not a small hole in the hole either. The service was good, our waiter was nice. But the food was downright terrible. I had the ribeye pho and added beef balls... The broth was so lackluster, not that rich beef broth that it should be at all. It was also not hot enough to cook the ribeye, which was nice and thinly sliced and tender but became chewy since it did not cook in the broth. The Krab wontons that we got as appetizers was also lacking. As if they just put a glob in the middle of the fried dough. My partners fried rice was sweet...??? Went to their soft opening last night and the food was fantastic! The service was friendly and quick considering they are still prepping for a full opening. The food came out at a good time, not too fast not too slow. Speaking of food, AMAZING! The Pho Tai Nam was great l, the broth tasted exactly how I like it and it was a decent size for the price. I had the Pad Thai (only note is that I expected to be asked how spicy I want it, it had zero spice - next time I will ask for it to be spicy). Ambiance felt modern, like a hangout spot for younger crowd more than a date night or family dinner spot. But we did see some families & dates lol. It's a spacious place with bar seating too. We are very happy to have this restaurant open in St. John, very close to our home. We go there very often and have never been disappointed -- from the great food to the friendly service. The first time I tried this place everything was fine. Food came out quick and was very tasty. Fast forward a couple of months.... Showed up around 11:30 for lunch and I was the only person there. Ordered summer rolls for an appetizer and vermicelli Bun for the main. After 25 minutes of being ignored by my server, I finally was able to ask if my food was almost ready. 5 minutes later (30 minutes now) she brings out my order which was wrong. I now do not have time to wait for them to correct my order and eat lunch. I walked out the door probably never to return. They got two stars instead of one because the order that they screwed up actually looked decent. I will be shocked if this place stays in business. read more

Went here for a friend's birthday dinner the other day and I can honestly say it was the worst bowl of ramen I've ever had. The worst part was the egg, I don't think it was marinated and it definitely wasn't soft boiled, just a hard boiled egg cut in half and chucked in. The noodles tasted off, and I don't mean in the usual way that ramen noodles stateside are mediocre, they were so bad I just didn't eat them. The broth was tolerable after a generous helping of chili oil but only because the spice covered up the taste. I think the worst part is that this awful experience was $19 which is actually insane. The only redeeming part of the meal was our server, she was lovely. Anyways I would not recommend this place to anyone but maybe their pho is way better than their ramen, I won't be finding out. read more

We ordered the bang bang shrimp (which was fried panko shrimp with a side of the sauce, so definitely not the traditional style you'd expect) and the deluxe pho. As for the pho, the noodles were a little overcooked, the broth wasn't as flavorful, and the bean sprouts were soggy prior to even adding it into the broth, but the meat was good. The servers were really nice and kept checking in with us throughout our meal but overall the food and the prices don't compare to the mom and pop Viet restaurants in Jax. read more
