Ho Ho Gourmet is one of the best Chinese restaurants on this side of Saint Paul. They have a buffet which is worth it and great food options. Ambiance 4/5 It's a regular regular Chinese spot with great space. Could use an upgrade but I rarely eat in. Could use an upgrade on the bathroom as well. I don't think this place has been updated since I've first visited in the 2000's. Service 3/5 Great customer service and never rush you. Always polite. I've never had a bad experience even when they've had unruly customers, they're calm. Customer service is excellent compared to most Chinese food places in my experience. They take their time and don't rush you or aren't abrupt. Unfortunately they're just as stingy with soy sauce like most Chinese places. I have no idea why I order a family size order and they give me 2 soy sauces. How can you be stingy with soy sauce when you have paying customers? Advice: hole the hot mustard and provide adequate soy sauce. I've definitely had an order where it was missing and I was . Now I always check which is unreasonable in my opinion. Food 5/5 Food is great, they've added a little meat to their egg rolls however it still holds nothin to other places which provide shrimp in the egg rolls. Egg rolls are the best in my opinion in addition to Egg Foo Young w/gravy, shrimp fried rice and chicken is extra crispy. Overall 4/5 Food and service is great, ready in 10 minutes tops, but they are super stingy with soy sauce. Let's do better. Still my spot, just be sure to check the soy sauce

The service is good accompanied by the food such as the ho ho wings, cream cheese wontons, and pot stickers

Fresh, well priced and high quality Chinese food. Been here quite a few times to enjoy their roasted duck and pea tips! Probably my favorite dish on the menu are their pea tips! Go during the week for little to no wait and fast service. Construction is making it a pain to get their so follow the "hudson road" detour signs! I am not aware of a buffet here (I think there was one before the vid) A la carte it is! Enjoy!

How they want us to pay this big as tip? Would u leave this?

I have kids with autism and did not even eat!!! They didn't care ...... she was very rude and did not care how she speak because of the high tip

Best chicken wings in St. Paul. I haven't tried everything on the menu because it's quite vast but a perfect dinner spot for Chinese cuisine.

I gave them five star for their fried chicken wings. it was good and some may be a bit dry, but the crispy and the flavor are always there and consistent. I haven't tried other foods on the menu. I love the chicken wings and often order a party tray. Very good customer service and I can call to order and pick up and pay at the time of pick up. The restaurant is nice and clean with lots of parking space.

This is a family owned business and their food is delicious! From what I heard is they've been around for a very long time and is well known for their chicken wings! I had to try it for myself to believe it so I ordered a small tray (50 wings) and boy am I glad I did! I could've ordered double because it was such a huge hit! The lady in the front was really nice and people here work really fast! The wings didn't take long (15 mins) considering I didn't order ahead of time. When I was there, they did have their dinner buffet serving so I must go back and check that out. Parking lot is huge with about 3 to 4 handicap spaces.

In…read morere-reading my reviews, I stand by everything I've said about the excellent consistent quality of the food, the service, and how much I enjoy coming to this restaurant. I truly hope they are around longer than I am. I would hate to find out this was one of the choices no longer available to us. Please read my previous reviews for a more inclusive view; this review focuses only on their lobster. I had previously mentioned that they prices of their lobsters (I love the version with black bean sauce) have gone up tremendously. While true, there seems to have been a subtle change in their pricing strategy. Previously (as of before the pandemic), the lobster was priced by the pound, which is the conventional way of doing it. However, they seem to have two lobster prices. The first one is called "Big Lobster" and they say it's between 2 and 2 and half pounds per lobster. The price of that (as of this review) is $56 dollars, or $28 per pound. That's not really a bad price at all. It's expensive, but reasonable. The other lobster is called "Live Lobster" and is priced $10 less at $46. So the real question is how much does this second version weigh? I ordered the Big Lobster, but they said they were out of it. I asked the weight of the "Live Lobster" but I didn't really get a straight answer, but he seemed to say "about two pounds" which doesn't really make sense because that's the price of the larger, more expensive lobster. But I decided to go for it anyway. As I stated in my last review, I'm guessing this lobster is at least two pounds, based on many years of eating lobster. For this review, I had ChatGPT translate the the Chinese on the menu, thinking it was secret code for "if you can read Chinese, save ten dollars by ordering this version" but AI says the Chinese means "lobster" so if you spoke Chinese, you'd still be mystified. So my recommendation is order the version that is ten dollars cheaper and you may (or may not) be paying $23 a pound. Price aside, I love this version of lobster and it is certainly a better deal than what you would pay at an American style seafood or steak restaurant in the Twin Cities.

We grabbed seats at their tiny 4-seat bar, which turned out to be the perfect spot for the evening. The service was fantastic from start to finish with everyone on the staff attentive, warm, and friendly. We went all-in and ordered the Potsticker Feast ($95): two of every kind of potsticker they make, plus all four dipping sauces, Ribeye Noodles, Korean Wings, General Tso's Chicken, and House Cucumbers. The potstickers were awesome but given the name of the place I was surprised that the real standouts were the other dishes. The ribeye was perfectly marinated and tender, tossed with a variety of vegetables and stir-fried noodles. The wings were terrific and the General Tso's was perfect. Don't sleep on the cucumbers either...smoky, spicy, and sweet, with peanuts and sauce. My favorite potstickers were the Beef & Carrots and the Kimchi Pork. If you're looking for scratch-made Asian fusion with great hospitality, Potsticker is hard to beat.

The server was very friendly and informative, even joked around with us a little. It didn't look like reservations were needed, except maybe on busy days like Mother's Day. The food was amazing. Potstickers were, of course, super good, but so was everything else. Portions were generous. I got the pork belly fried rice and I think I have enough leftovers for another three or four meals. There is a small parking lot in back, but you have to walk around the building to get to the door. I would say it is not handicapped friendly. If you park in back it would be hard to get to the door unless you are able to make it half way around the block. If you park in front it is just street parking. My dad uses a walker and we were lucky enough to get a spot right in front of the restaurant, anything else would have been a problem. Spacing inside the restaurant is pretty tight as well. Once dad sat down they had to take his walker into the back because there was no room in the seating area. We were packed in pretty tightly and very close to the table next to us. Overall, delicious food! We will be back!

Proteins all served at correct doneness in the Pho Dac Biet so you get the tougher cuts well done and rendered and the thin steak raw so it cooks in the broth. Great side accompaniments, Thai basil still on the stalk and living, fresh bean sprouts, Sri Racha and chiles in oil depending on your tastes, squirt bottle of hoisin. The only tiny nitpick I have is I wish they had bigger spoons available for those of us who like to mix sauces and soup in the spoon instead of muddying up the bowl. Also Vietnamese coffee is prepared old fashioned, not in a boba cup where you can't tell if it was made just now or weeks ago. Great service. We were able to find free street parking nearby, because of parking lot renovations. As soon as we sat down, our waitress made sure we had everything we needed, including chili oil and sriracha for us. She checked in on us throughout our meal without being overbearing and made us feel very welcome. Since it was our first visit, we appreciated that we never felt rushed to order and had plenty of time to look over the menu. The pho was really solid. I loved the clear, deep flavorful broth, and the Vietnamese coffee was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Unfortunately, they were out of bánh mì during our visit, but honestly that just gives me another reason to come back. Between the good food and excellent service, I can definitely see why locals love this place. I'd recommend giving it a try if you're looking for a great food and a welcoming dining experience.
