Wish I wasn't addicted to their chicken wings for the past 30 years! My parents used to order Ho Ho chicken wings for various social gatherings and I learned to love them. Over the years, their prices have increased so dramatically that we're down to about once a year. When we do order, I prefer to use their online ordering method instead of calling because I sometimes run into communication issues when I order by phone. I would order more often if the prices were reduced. Ambiance has improved / modernized over the last 3 years, but still very casual. Not a date worthy place, but very family friendly with ample seating for large parties. Once in a while, our group of friends would meet up here for their lunch buffet. It's a decent deal at $15 per person, especially when you're on a tight schedule. Ambiance 4/5 It's a regular regular Chinese spot with great space. Could use an upgrade but I rarely eat in. Could use an upgrade on the bathroom as well. I don't think this place has been updated since I've first visited in the 2000's. Service 3/5 Great customer service and never rush you. Always polite. I've never had a bad experience even when they've had unruly customers, they're calm. Customer service is excellent compared to most Chinese food places in my experience. They take their time and don't rush you or aren't abrupt. Unfortunately they're just as stingy with soy sauce like most Chinese places. I have no idea why I order a family size order and they give me 2 soy sauces. How can you be stingy with soy sauce when you have paying customers? Advice: hole the hot mustard and provide adequate soy sauce. I've definitely had an order where it was missing and I was . Now I always check which is unreasonable in my opinion. Food 5/5 Food is great, they've added a little meat to their egg rolls however it still holds nothin to other places which provide shrimp in the egg rolls. Egg rolls are the best in my opinion in addition to Egg Foo Young w/gravy, shrimp fried rice and chicken is extra crispy. Way better than I had expected. The place was scrupulously clean and lightly decorated with pan-Asian stuff. I had expected a certain amount of grunginess and the overwhelming smell of old fryer oil. The service was good, as attentive as we ever need. The food was very middle of the road, reminiscent of what you would get at any Chinese restaurant you'd go to in the '80's. Ultimately it made me nostalgic for the Nankin, which was much more glamorous than Ho Ho. But hey, Ho Ho is still here and the Nankin is long gone, so make of that what you will. read more

This is a family owned business and their food is delicious! From what I heard is they've been around for a very long time and is well known for their chicken wings! I had to try it for myself to believe it so I ordered a small tray (50 wings) and boy am I glad I did! I could've ordered double because it was such a huge hit! The lady in the front was really nice and people here work really fast! The wings didn't take long (15 mins) considering I didn't order ahead of time. We finally got to stop by while in town. They've renovated, clean, plenty parking, and restrooms available. The service is amazing. You can call ahead to make reservations, you can also order to go and they are so considerate about asking if you need paper plates and utensils! You can not go wrong with anything here. It's comfort on a plate. If this is your first time definitely try one of their appetizer soups and get the Ho hos fried chicken wings! They also have a buffet available during certain hours! Hadn't been here in quite some time and some things have changed, and some not for the better. I will note, if Yelp did half stars, I would give 3.5. Ordered cream cheese puffs, lemon chicken, and sesame chicken. Puffs were tasty and came out hot and crispy. When the food came out, we realized we probably could have shared a meal, as portions are quite large and we ended up ditching half. In the past, the lemon chicken was made of breaded chicken breast and sliced. It now is the typical little fried nuggets like most Asian food places use. Very nice atmosphere. It could've been a bad day for them so don't read too into this review. My man ordered sweet and sour pork and the consistency was gamy and had an aftertaste. I am pregnant so it could just be my own taste buds. The iced tea was almost water served with lemon and my man ordered soda that tasted like the cup was cleaned with bleach. The spare ribs could be my own fault for thinking it'd be on the bone ribs. When really it was rib meat fried and smothered in sauce. I tried sending it back as we only touched 2 pieces and knew we didn't want it. After being nice and asking for it to be taken off the bill as we did not eat even a quarter of the order; at most we had what is visible on the spoon where there's no food. They then argued in front of us how they want us to pay for it or part of it. Any other restaurant I've been to where I can't stomach the food they are more than happy comping or exchanging what is wrong with the order. The lady we talked to said she's going to ask to see what she can do and when she went back to the kitchen the cooks stared at us through the window. Worst experience we have ever had from drinks to paying for food. We even tipped 10$ when in reality for the service we were given after sending food back and being treated after not liking one dish was absurd. I tried apologizing and the woman kept shutting me down after still paying for half the order. The rest of our stay we just got stares from the employees and heard them talking about the situation. The staff is always friendly and greets you right out the door and the cozy dining room has a nice family living room type of vibe That's always been very inviting. I've never been disappointed with their food. The only critique I have is since the parents turn the restaurant over to the younger generation the recipes although the same seem to have fallen off a bit when it comes to that recognizable flavor. The wings that they are very famous for are cooked to perfection but are not as well seasoned and flavorful as they once were, That aside their lo mein and sweet and sour chicken and chicken with vegetables are always hands down made to perfection every time! A coworker kept raving about the wings so decided to try it, and yep, they do not disappoint. First Chinese restaurant where I do not go for Chinese food but for the wings! Ok, so enough of my romance with the wings, the other items on the menu are typical in what you get to see at any other Chinese restaurant and overall the food is fairly good. We have always done take out so cannot accurately share regarding how it is when you eat at the restaurant. The star deduction is for: no matter how early do we call to place an order, no matter what time they tell us that the order will be ready to be picked up.... Alas it is never on time. Now, the food....There wasn't much to choose from as I mentioned, BUT...don't let the small selection fool you. I'd rather have a smaller buffet to keep food fresh, than have a buffet where food is past its expiration and starts to get old and cold....and NO ONE wants that. I had some general tso's chicken, a little of the lo mein noodles, and crab rangoon. It was love at first bite..(corny, I know), but it was really good! Everything was fresh! I could only eat a little bit because I had VSG surgery, (Gastric Sleeve), so I could only eat small amounts. The Lo Mein noodles were SO GOOD! Very well seasoned, and I love my noodles to be well seasoned!!! The General Tso's chicken was so fresh and delicious. The perfect about of sauce, as well as the sweet n sour chicken...forgot I had that too! The crab Rangoon was basically cream cheese, and didn't really taste crab, but it was very good as well!! Wow, great authentic Chinese food in the suburbs....who would have known?! There are two very distinct target audiences this restaurant caters to. Those who want Americanized Chinese food via a buffet and those who like authentic Chinese food. We tried the PayPa Tofu - this was absolutely our favorite! Delicate fried balls of tofu with shrimp and mushroom inside. It comes with a light sauce that helps make this dish come alive. We also tried the aromatic pork spare ribs. The portions here are huge! Good flavoring. If you like authentic pork spare ribs, you'll know and expect some parts to be fatty. It doesn't disappoint from that perspective. We also tried the Volcano chicken....oh my goodness, this was so good! The chicken was slightly crunchy, succulent and perfectly flavored and moist on the inside. Another one of our favorite dishes. There were only 6 (or so) food options long with their famous wings. The food was just eh. not great but not the worst ever. But I was thinking, it cant be too expensive after all. NOPE! $18 with tax! That's insane for what is being offered. For what is offered, it should be maybe a $10 buffet. I will not be going back again. I would recommend the same for everyone else.
