Today Friday the 18th of 2022 I walked into hobby lobby for the very first time, I been wanting to go here for so long the store is amazing I wish I had more time too look around but I got there at 7:35 pm and they closed at 8pm and all I got was some craft but when the cashier Hanna B rang me up I instantly repeated after her when she told me my total, I said $80 why ? and she explained I got a glue worth $14 and I needed something smaller for that since I was doing a hat. So told her I'll just come back if there's something wrong with my receipt she said okay. Since I felt rushed out the store at 7:59 pm the lines where long so I didn't want to keep anyone waiting, nor have the workers give me attitude. I just left I and got to my house made my craft and then I asked myself ( why do you check what you bought) I came to realize Hanna B - was trying to be fast and triple charged me 9.99 so you guys will be seeing me tomorrow so don't act brand new I need my Refund please and thank you I'll be bring everything I bought with me just in case there's an issue I'm so upset cause I was so excited for this store it's just bad that I got charged more read more

Don't come here unless you want to wait in line for 25 minutes. Poor service. Last time I was in here I waited 25 minutes, as the next person in line, while they only had 2 lines open. The person in front of me returned about 15 items with no receipt. The manager just stared at us and shook her head. She didn't lift any finger to do anything for the first 24 minutes. Finally she asked another cashier to open, who then pulled the line from an arbitrary point, giving people who waited much less time a free pass ahead of everyone. I told her she was wrong and she looked back like she didn't understand language. I'm not coming here anymore. It's not worth it. The cashier who's helped me several times, he needs to be given a free nail clipper. His fingernails are long and dirty everytime I see him. They know they've got terrible service and hate their jobs; that's why they come on Yelp and report people they disagree with. If you don't like your job, why do you trick people into coming into your store so you have to have a mile long line? All your bad reviews, which are most of them, mention the poor service but you ignore that. Very bizarre. read more

I can spend some fun time in here wandering the aisles in this mega store I couldn't believe how big it was once I stepped inside. I specifically came here to look for wooden letters and numbers and they had exactly what I was looking for plus other craft items I picked up roaming the aisles. First off, I need to start off by saying Connor in the frame department (back right corner of the store), was absolutely fantastic! He saved my Chanukah/Christmas gift by finding me a showcase. From the beginning, he was so polite on the phone and went above and beyond with helping me in person. I am a millennial, but even I have to admit it's hard to find decent customer service. Connor is not only giving great customer support, he goes above and beyond until I was super secure in my purchase. Thank you so much for being such a life saver (and gift saver) Connor. As for the store I had not been in one in years but was so impressed by the size and merchandising in the store, I think it may end up my new home away from home. I cannot wait to play around and start doing some of my own shopping. It brought me back to my childhood years of going to Joann's but now in a way more updated and unique way. I was extremely surprised to see they don't use scanners at the checkout or anywhere else. Besides giving wasting time in my life waiting in line. The idea is so labor intensive and impracticable. The thought of the loss of money to a business is unmanageable. Error when inputting codes on each item, would definitely not protect the consumer. Over or under charges are not even traceable. Putting a tag on each item in the store is not efficient. The scariest part, it opens the door to fraud and manipulation by the corporation to hide money. A upc code it traceable for inventory and pricing. Kinda scarry, besides waiting in line for extremely long periods. read more

I had a great experience recently. Conner helped me on the phone and then even Moreno when I got there to pick up stuff he saved for me up front. Things that MICHAELS didn't have in stock. He was amazing. Then Kimberly was so sweet checking me out when I leaving I forgot something, and then Michael stepped up to help me. And they were all twenty-somethings! I've come in here a number of times and the place is huge! It's in the same parking lot as Burger King and Toys R Us and there is always plenty of parking. Hobby Lobby is has items for a while variety of arts and crafts, including a huge amount of decor in different styles. It is a great place to visit if you are a crafter or craft enthusiast, but they are always moving around the stock and they don't label the hallways so it's easy to get lost! The items are pretty cheap and they are often having good sales. They always have a 40% off one item coupon on their website so be sure to save the image to your phone or print it out if you're planning to visit. The quality isn't the best though, for some items. I was in about a year ago looking at easels but even their highest priced ones were made out of cheap, easily breakable wood. The mat boards and frames seem nice though, as do their glass candleholders and some other decorations, etc. Last summer I had one of my paintings custom framed here and when I went in to pick it up I noticed how the painting was uneven by maybe 1/4". My boyfriend also noticed and so did Jose, the gentleman who brought it out from the back. I asked if it could be redone and Jose said yes. I asked who had initially done the work and he said it was George. I asked him if he could be sure to do the work on it instead of George and he said yes. At this point I was pretty scared because if I were to sell this painting I would take no less than $3k on it. But it was a gift for my father so it made it priceless to me. Jose reassures me that George would not be fixing the error, but that he would be the only one to do it. I told him to take as long as he needed. A week or so later Jose called to say it was ready. I picked it up and it looked great! I paid with a coupon and the total was maybe about $150! The frame itself was about 22 x 42" so it was pretty big! Overall I'm pleased with my purchases and this custom framing purchase. If I ever get a custom frame here again though I will definitely request that only Jose work on it and I'll also go with acrylic instead of glass, just because it's lighter weight. I do wish I had thought to ask for acrylic. It wasn't offered in the framing options and I didn't think to ask. read more

The employees who work here are a little too nice or perhaps lazy. They let a lady walk by them with her mask pulled under her nose. I guess they looked in the other direction too when that same lady threw her hand wipe tissue on top of another shopping cart like a piece of trash and kept going. Be better at enforcing mask policy and give warning to those who litter in store. read more

I came to Hobby lobby today to look for some stuff for my sons graduation . Not knowing where everything was at I stopped an employee to ask for help. She told me to wait because she called someone on the phone. I patiently waited and she turned around and left after her phone call and completely ignored me. I called her as she was walking away and I asked her name. She said her name is Sherry. She was very rude and unhelpful and she definitely shouldn't be working with customers. Welcome to 1972. Everything is seemingly OK at Hobbly Lobby, except for the perplexing issue of why it takes so long to check-out of this store. So today, I finally asked the cashier why the checkout process is so slow. As she was giving me a dull answer, I noticed her manually keying in each item number!!! THERE ARE NO BARCODES, AND NO SCANNERS used at Hobby Lobby! I've shopped here several times since it opened in Burbank. Every time I come here, there's always a wait at the cash lines. Now I want to be clear, there's not always a long line, but there's ALWAYS A WAIT. What's frustrating is I'm almost always second in line and the wait is mind-numbingly slow since there's usually only one other person in front of me! So the manager on duty hears my question about why they don't have barcodes on items and she gave me an equally dull answer of being short staffed. OMG, there are like five cashiers with 1 to 2 people enqueue. I didn't ace Operation Systems in college, but it's obvious that they have an issue of inefficiency in their business model. She further went on to say that the entering of the item number manually allows them to give discounts. What does that even mean? Like a discount code cannot be created and assigned to that item category? This is an example of a company that is the core of American greed. There's no logical justification as to why they would not barcode their millions of items in inventory. And because of that, this family-owned business which operates over 900 stores across 47 states in the U.S. should be ASHAMED of themselves. Even the smallest of small businesses in America care about their customers and go through great lengths to automate their business for the customer's convenience. Here, we are not even talking about advanced cloud systems. We are merely talking about turning your item numbers into barcode fonts. There's not a big box store within 20, or even 50 miles of here which operate by entering item number for non-produce items. It just goes to show what great lengths this company will go through to undermine its customers and show that they really don't care about your time -- just your money. Finally, as she entered in my last item manually and totaled me up, I asked them if they accepted Apple Pay -- big mistake. read more

I just left and I'm heated, so take this with the anger it's seasoned with. I didn't expect it to be small lines. I was right. It was crazy. There was one guy at a register away from the large lines that said his line was closed. Being desperate but not entitled I asked if I could quickly check out with my 4 small bottles of fabric paint. He asked if I was willing to pay his salary after he got fired for taking me when his check out line says closed. Obviously I wouldn't want that and immediately removed myself from the line & went to another. Based on timing, I decided Amazon was a better bet and decided to forget the whole thing. Upon leaving, I notice the guy at the register is helping a new person, someone that wasn't there after the ladies I saw before I moved to a new line. So, he lied. Because he didn't want to help me, but he was apparently okay to be fired for this other guy. I made sure he saw me as I was leaving, called out the lie, so he won't be too surprised to see this review. I also overheard him repeating said lie to an elderly woman trying to check out as well. Employees have no idea where any of the items were in the store. We asked several employees where a paper creaser or bonding tool was and we got different store sections each time we asked. We were told the art supplies section, canvas section, paper section, and wood section. Not once did the employees show us where the product would be they simply said it's around there somewhere. If you have seen Zootopia this store is the DMV when it comes to the lines. It reminds me of the early 90s when I went to FEDCO with my parents, that AWFUL wait in line. Its beyond insane truly and makes no sense all registers aren't open. Also JUST ADD MORE REGISTERS IN THE STORE!!! Even Walmart clears their customers faster/better. This store has never let me down. I ALWAYS find special pieces here and management has always gone above and beyond to assist if I am needing something that is no longer being stocked etc.. Hobby Lobby is a rabbit hole that, once you fall in, it's hard to climb out, especially with all the stuff you will certainly want to buy. My eyes get wider down every aisle. For history buffs, this is the old Orchard Supply. Hobbies aside, the decor for every possible holiday, theme, interest, or style is here. Planning a party? You will literally be dazzled by the breath and scope of stuff available. Even furniture! For the hobbyist, which I am not, there seem to be aisles and aisles devoted to a variety of activities. Also a huge frame (and framing) selection and the frame prices are awesome. Speaking of prices, it seems that most things in the store are on sale, all the time. For things that are not on sale, go to hobbylobby.com and you will see a coupon for 50% off one item for anything in the store which is regular price. I bought a desk that way, no questions asked! I asked for help with a painting and was directed to the frame shop. The guy put some wire on it so it could hang when I got home. Very satisfied so far... Got in line behind six people, the one register that was checking out. The front customer had a ton of stuff and the line was not moving, now twelve deep. I stepped up to the front to politely ask a manager if she would open a second register. Her response floored me. "I don't have anyone else that can work a register". Are you capable of helping out, the line is so long and we've all been waiting? "I can run a register, but I'm helping with returns. That's not my job." So that's how it's done in Burbank. I went to purchase sand paper and I was unable to locate where is was placed .. .. there was no one to assist in sight so I walked towards the front near the registers . I asked an associate if he could help me find the sand paper in which he was unable to do . The manager was near and didn't even budge to assist she just stood there and stared at me . Finally I found what I needed and went to check out .. .. I only had $100 bill in cash. The same associate told me his register didn't have change , I let him know I didn't have any other forms of payment . He calls for the manager she asks again do I have anything else . I explain to her no she walks away with my $100 bill goes to get change , when she comes back she counts the money to the associate not acknowledging me and just walks away ! It took me a very long time before I decided to come in here. This place is used to be OSH and I knew very well how OSH looked before. The mere thought of how small, dingy and cramped OSH was, didn't encourage me to check out this place. Until one day... ...I finally came in and I was surprised, this place is huge! I didn't know that they demolished all the walls and made it an open space. And the whole space was packed with different commodities neatly displayed from floor to ceiling. And man, this is craft haven! Aisle after aisle, you will see different craft materials for decorating, scrap booking, jewelry making, painting, sewing, knitting, etc. They also carry furniture and matching accessories and furnishings. There's also framing services available. The store is super clean. Every time I come here, I see an employee mopping the floor. The aisle are very organized. I always see staff stocking shelves even the manager himself. Plus they are all very friendly and helpful. This store though has no stocking room because the entire building space has been allocated to product displays. That means what you see in the floor is what you get. You either wait for next shipment or have the item transferred from another store. read more

Love this store. It is pretty dangerous for me because I will spend more then necessary. I love pretty much 90% of the stuff in here and could stay here for hours and hours. I recently came here to shop for Christmas decor after Christmas which was marked at 50% off. The lines have been really long but it it worth the wait. I have also purchased a very unique toilet paper holder that is made out of steel metal. It took me 35 minutes to checkout! I was waiting in 1 of the 3 lines that were open just to be told 10 mins later that the register was closed after a specific customer. When the manager or shift lead told us this she completely disregarded us asking if she was going to open another register. Everyone in that line had to go to the other 2 lines that were already long. We all lost our places in line and went behind customers that got in line well after we did. I kid you not both lines were well past the middle of the store, easily about 15-20 people in each line. Ridiculous!!! They have great deals but the time spent trying to buy them was insane! You may want to turn back when you see those lines walking in as the other 10 customers I saw walk in and right back out while I was waiting in line. read more
