Maybe I don't get out to a lot of hobby lobby stores, but this particular location was absolutely humongous!! This was probably as big as a huge super Walmart store or a huge target. You HAVE TO check your receipts or follow the transaction as it goes. This is for every location, but I notice having to go back inside more here than the Lakewood one. Hobby Lobby doesn't have scanners so cashiers are manually entering prices so if they miss a discount, you're being charged full price. I've had to remind them of sales and today i was so preoccupied with my toddler I decided to check my receipt in the car. 3 items wrong. I didn't go back because my toddler was having a meltdown. The receipts are kinda hard to read too, hundreds of items are labeled "crafts" but they're not on sale. The location has a great selection of items. Love the store but I think the company has been around long enough that they should have a scanner. read more

I normally pickup crafts supplies from Joann's or Michael's, but Hobby Lobby is quickly winning me over. There are many store associates on the floor, and they are always kind enough to direct me to where I need to go. The associates often check their store inventory, and you can also place a rain check order if they are out of stock on an item. Sometimes it'll arrive within the same week. The only downside is they don't offer coupons like Joann's or Michael's. read more

Jim the "manager" should be fired. I had my gay friend come into the store to return a wedding piece I had purchased from another location last week. Upon checking out I told her I noticed a crack. I was ASSURED that they would allow me to bring it back because the rest of them were cracked on the floor, when a new shipment came in over the weekend. Came in to return and Jim accused my friend of cracking it and that it would never be sold like that. That he must have cracked it in his car. Someone representing the store felt to the need to accuse my gay friend? I know this is a Christian establishment and myself being a Christian I am appalled at the behavior of Jim and his customer service. He is representing a christian business and should conduct his behavior like wise. Upon calling to complain to corporate Jim proceeds to say that it was a crack from a shoe. A sho?!! I was checking out with Tyler, the cashier. He was lovely, friendly and helpful. Reason for 3 stars incoming. I had dropped my scotch tape and the "micro" manager picked it up for me. She noticed it didn't have a price. She then leaves to go find the price. It takes so long that Tyler decided $2.99, since all the other tape was $2.99. Makes sense. "Micro" manger lady comes back with another lady who apparently works in the gift wrap department. In the meantime, I've told them thrice that I can run back and get the price for them. Now, the lady who claims to know the price is searching the Hobby Lobby web site for the price. Tyler says to manager lady, can't we just do $2.99? She then uses her hands tell Tyler to zip it. Rude and belittling I'm my opinion. We still don't have a price. So they guessed $3.99! I told them if I'm paying a guess is not good enough, you better know. So in all the sass, built up to 100, she tells Tyler, "fine, $2.99, but next time you need to not do that!" She walked away. Not once acknowledged my existence. I said, thank you and no you're welcome. They both treated Tyler poorly, and worse than that, did it in front of a customer. So, I don't have names but I do have date and times. 6/17/23 at approximately 1:45pm. The manager lady was on the cash register area I guess managing lines The other lady was in the gift wrap dept. This store is nice and clean. The people who work here seem eager to help. My recent experience was not great. I selected a puzzle my Granddaughter wanted, got to the register and the clerk so "oh 40% off, that's a great deal." She then proceeded to strike up a conversation about her dog with my Granddaughter. Long story short, I got home and was charge full price. No big deal. I go back the next day, stand in line, talk to the clerk, she calls over the manager who says, "I'm sorry, you need to have the box." I said, that I can go and get the identical puzzle off the shelf. She said, "I'm sorry, we can't do that." So, I need to go home and bring back the box for a UPC code that I can get here? "Yes!" So for something that was their fault and 7 stupid dollars, I have to now return to the store yet again. This interaction was quite frustrating, everyday brings a clearer understanding of why retail brick and mortar stores are struggling. I could have ordered this same puzzle on Amazon and it would have been cheaper even with the extra 40%. I would never treat one of my customers like this! read more

Literally just stepped out of this store & the customer service sucked. I stepped into a check out line and as I did the cashier placed a "closed register" sign right after the customer in front of me. I didn't notice it at first and he so rudely pointed out at me so I apologized. I was grateful that he decided to check me out but as he was he was chewing his gum so obnoxiously and then tossed my bag aside as I was paying for it. Incredibly rude cashier manager (assuming that's her position). Fawntasia is her name or something like that. I go in to return a few items with the original receipt and was questioned on every item as to why it's being returned from the cashier (didn't have a name tag on) and with every response I gave, Fawntasia was standing next to her being combative with me about it as if my reasoning was not good enough. For example, I had to return an ink pad because the ink was dried out upon opening. Fawntasia did not like this and was hesitant to take the returns. Why would I have to keep a damaged product that I paid for?! Isn't that was the return policy covers??! And that was just one of the several items she questioned me about as the cashier is trying to ring up the returns. Never have I ever had this much difficulty returning items... as if it was coming directly out of her paycheck or something. I will never shop at this store again, how embarrassing is it to be spoken to in this manner. Shame on management for belittling paying customers and shame on the cashier for making the process more difficult than it had to be.. took them 25 minutes to return just a few items because they were too busy trying to speak down to me. Do better Hobby Lobby. Anyone reading this, take your business elsewhere like Amazon or Target. read more

Grand Opening Monday, September 10, 2018. Just in time for the holidays! Located in the Old Kohls/ Mervyns building next to Stater Bros and McDonalds. Hours are from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 8pm and closed every Sunday. I am so excited for this location to open! Further review later on once the store officially opens. Stay tuned! But for now it's a 5 Star review bc I'm super excited for this new store! Update, it's official they're open 9/7/18 today! It's amazing, it has more stuff than Michael's and joAnns! The only complaint I have is that the cashiers are new and haven't quite mastered "cashiering", but that's okay... it's their first day! Check them out, it's awesome! read more

I walked into the store about 25 minutes prior to closing and someone who looked like she was the closing Manager for the evening didn't bother to greet my husband and I and immediately let's me know that the store closes in 20 minutes. I responded with OK, already knowing that information, but ignored the comment and proceeded to shop. Not even 2 minutes after her comment she got on the intercom and announced that everyone should be coming up to get checked out as they were closing. She was very unprofessional and rude and didn't even stop to ask what I was interested in buying that evening. All I know is this location lost a big sale due to the unprofessionalism that was brought upon an employee who made it very obvious they just wanted to go home. I will be taking my business elsewhere thank you to the type of service I received. read more

Ok so this is more of a quick observation I had of the place. Everything inside is fine but customer service is lacking here. The employees don't seem too happy and helpful. Then to top it off... after making an announcement that they were closing at 8pm and to make your way to the register and it was 730pm... it seems rushed. Unfortunately that was not all... we made our way out the door at 739pm and the manager was already locking the entrance door? I'm confused. Are you closed at 730 or 8? I go in there to buy something for my schools event just to get followed around the store by what I assume was the manager and a couple of workers. They didn't even try to hide the fact that they thought I was suspicious, I saw one of the worker stop and bend backwards to look into the aisle to check on me and when I made my way up to the front to pay a swarm of employees followed and the same lady bending backwards stood at the front of the exit and only walked away after I paid. Now I find this to be very rude and disrespectful and I feel like the store needs to either work on hiding the fact of when they think someone is stealing or maybe not judge someone on how they look. read more

I asked a sales associate where I could find mason jars and she stopped restocking the shelves she was working on and walked with me to where the jars were. Truly, watch out with this store. If you don't look white and aren't dressed "nice" you're going to be treated rudely and potentially even followed by employees. It's a shame because this store has very lovely merchandise to shop and browse through. But it's not worth coming here when you're just going to get treated like you're less. Last I checked it's 2023 not the 1900s. This isn't the first time something like this has happened to me here. So if you're a person of color like I am, either don't come here at all or be ready to be racially profiled. Workers always have something rude to say and have unpleasant attitudes. For a said, "Christian value" store they really aren't so Christian. It's extremely hilarious though that just because I walked in with an oversized sweater and a messy bun. While also being Latina. They assume I'm up to no good. When I literally just stopped by to find something for a white elephant party after my 4 hour laboratory class. I love this location! Cynthia was about to ring me up when I realized I didn't have my wallet. She was so nice about it and put my items aside for me. Brittany was really eager to help and was genuinely concerned when I couldn't find it, too. Luckily, I found it quickly, and both ladies made the extra effort to have Cynthia ring me up when she was probably due for her break. I have never been to hobby lobby in my whole life, and yesterday I finally did! How did I not know about this place?! It really is Michael's 6.5++, it's HUGE and they have everything for your home decoration need literally every room, including sections for new born baby's (gender neutral as well), pets and etc themes. I wish the military section was bigger than one display but they had one which was so exciting (also first responders, men/sports/cars section was really cool) They have a huge baking section, all the circuit needs (there both next to each other in the right corner next to the clearance section) They were having a 90% off sale and I got one large decorative sign and 2 place mats for $5.65 so I wish I would have known earlier because it was cleared out! Overall clean, neat store with friendly staff I encountered. The only thing I didn't like was that it felt like a huge warehouse and wasn't as homey/appealing as Michaels. read more

It's too bad I didn't notice until after I left but how hard could it be? The box lists the price and you refund the total amount. I just don't get how you get that wrong. My wife and I have been coming here for years because it's close to us and has decent options. We will no longer be coming to this store after encountering the rudest customer service rep (Maddie or Madison). She was upset that we wanted to return items and was very condescending. Here's a gem, "so why did you buy this if you were going to return it right away?" We asked for a price adjustment on two items because they went on sale 1 week after we bought them and she refused because she said they were not on sale (went home to double check and they do have a 50% sale for decor items). We then asked if we could just use the 40% coupon for two items since there were two of us. In the past, associates have always told us 1 coupon per person is acceptable. She said no and we called for the manager. The manager said that's completely fine and Maddie threw her hands up like a spoiled child and loudly said "how do we keep letting THESE PEOPLE get away with this?!?" The manager immediately reprimanded her and asked her to finish the transaction and close out her register to talk to her. She rushed the entire transaction and by the time I got home to check the receipt, she never credited us for the other two items we returned. I had to call the manager today and explain the entire situation again since it's a new manager on duty and now we have to go back to the store to get the situation rectified. I keep hearing that she's new, I have no idea why someone new would act this disgruntled as if she's been there for years and feels entitled. She strikes me as a spoiled child and has no place in customer service. CORPORATE IF YOU'RE READING THIS: You need to take action here if she's not removed from the store, before you lose anymore customers. We will be going to Michaels going forward. A bit out of the way, but worth not giving this store business due to their poor hiring decisions. I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt in thinking maybe she had a bad day or just received some bad news, but it seems like other customers have also been complaining recently about this girl. There has Never been a time that I have called that location and all "Employees" have shown Superior Customer concern and a willingness to help with any inquiries about your items sold there . We all got shocked this year with the change in your "Coupon" change, Lol. But there were quite a lot of sales reduction for purchase anyway. So glad that Hobby Lobby opened up at the old Kohl's/Mervyn's building. Both stores didn't last long there, but hoping that Hobby Lobby stays around. I used to drive all the way to the Huntington Beach location across from Goldenwest college just to check out a Hobby Lobby. The only other hobby store in the general area is Joanns which doesn't offer as much products as Hobby Lobby does. Parking is plenty and not that busy in this shopping center. Lastly, always look for a coupon either online on their website or through their app before you check out. It's usually 40% off a regular priced item but it's better than nothing.
