Stopped in two weeks ago to get an estimate for some custom artwork framing. Wasn't necessarily planning to purchase, but after working with Dawn in the framing department I felt very comfortable with a design, colors, even glass type, and committed right then to buy a frame. It would take two weeks to get, and I counted every day.... Dawn was very thorough explaining every detail, even consulting on what she thought looked good considering the artwork. This was not an ordinary piece of art, it was an old clear film magazine ad proof with 4 layers of different colored film graphics. Not an easy task, but very happy with the results. Even when putting the final frame and glass together she found a tiny scratch on the glass and insisted that it be replaced, so she went and made a new piece of glass right then. I wasn't too concerned with the scratch, but I'm happy she took the time to make it right. I'll be back for more framing, and plan to work with Dawn again. read more

I went in on Aug 3rd. to get a picture frame. It is now Aug 12, they call me to say they are out of stock for the Frame and mat is out of stock.I did talk to the manger on how we can fix it. Hobby Lobby is NOT Disable friendly. Yesterday, my friend & I went to the Morgan Hill store. They do not have an electric scooter for such a big store; however, they do have 2 manual wheelchairs with giant baskets attached. My friend was in an accident barely a yr ago and had a leg amputated. Walking on the prothesis is still very painful and difficult for him to do for a long period, so their wheelchair was most welcomed. When we were finished and I was helping my friend into my car, I saw a woman wearing a Hobby Lobby smock walking our way. I asked her if she was an employee and could she please help me with by taking the wheelchair and return it for me. She said, "No, I'm off the clock." I looked at her incredulously because I didn't understand what that had to do with helping someone out in need. "I don't know if I'm allowed to if I'm off the clock." I'm even more dumbfounded. She's not allowed to help people on her own time? Or she doesn't wasn't to?! I returned the chair while my friend held onto the car & got himself inside. I saw the mgr & told her what happened & that I could have used some assistance. And then she also said, "Oh, she's probably off the clock." Whatever happened to human decency and common courtesy? Be grateful that you don't have a health problem that requires you to use a wheelchair. It really doesn't require much to share a little compassion and give a helping hand. read more

One star for framing department. Stood waiting for 10 minutes. Asked if they could call someone else for help...she days not until she finishes what she's doing. Seriously? Cant take 2 seconds to pick up the phone? My daughter sat on the carpeted table by the posters and the employee tells her to get down because there are shards of glass on it....???!!!!!! WHY are there shards of glass in the middle of the store? WHY aren't you vacuuming it up? Or are you just being an a$$ at this point? Sewing department, the girl with long brown hair is always acting like she doesn't see you at the counter and when you do get her attention she is put out because you interrupted what she was in the middle of doing. Standing at the counter she was helping someone locate an item, then brings him up to get in front of me to cut his fabric after I had been waiting for quite awhile...smh. Flowers, home decor, furniture, mannequin decorative dress forms, fabrics, metal signs, signs, wall art, candles, stamps, paints, canvases, more art supplies, glitter, puzzles, seasonal decor, and more! It's like walking into a more spacious, cleaner, and well-organized Michael's-esque supply store. Been here just once so far, and it appears Hobby Lobby has their fair share of coupons, discounts, sales on pretty much everything. Be attentive at check out though because the cashiers hand punch in prices and have to manually apply any additional discounts. Our cashier was very aware of the current items on sale and checked her binder to double check if an item was on sale that week or not. read more

I have attempted to shop here a few times and just left empty handed. The lines are too long. Most of the inventory is cheap and not made well. Not impressed with the customer service. This company is suspect. Why aren't they using scanners?? It's almost 2022. This seems shady. How do they know if they have items in stock or not?? How can you check inventory in your store?? I feel bad for the employees that work the register. They are expected to key in each and every item manually, remember which items are on sale week to week and what department each item is from. The management is completely incompetent. They don't know what's on sale or in stock and if the cashier rings the item up with the wrong department you can't return it without getting flack and pushback from the management. Let me start off by saying I shop here all the time. I am also a teacher who does a lot of shopping for work here. We Purchased an item that we thought was in good condition for our newborns nursery wall. In transition from purchase to home it broke. It may have had a hairline crack in it and just the shuffle in the bag on the way home with the several other items we purchased at that time, it somehow cracked. I Brought the item back within the exchange Time frame of 90 days. This item was seven dollars approximately. Not only did they not to exchange it but they really were rude when we (my six year daughter and I) were nothing short of polite. One lady told me it had been months since it was purchased. It was one month and 10 days. I was trying to make a simple Exchange which I have the original receipt and the original tag. They could have made this real simple and just done good business. However, they have lost my business forever. My original purchase was for $118. For them not to exchange a seven dollar item and be rude about it, was totally unnecessary. There was a few people in line there behind me and I didn't want to say much or argue about it so I just grabbed my stuff and made another purchase (which now that I think about it I should not have given them any more business) and moved along. The cashier that helped me both times I shopped here seemed annoyed and the checkout process is incredibly slow. They manually type in each item and have to verify against their circular ad whether an item is on sale or not. They almost charged me full price for items that were noted as on sale on the aisle, but she didn't see it in their print ad. Really? Shouldn't their system automatically detect the sale price? Time to catch up with the times I'd say. All in all I enjoy the items in the store and will definitely go back, I just hope that someone is checking their Yelp rating and takes a hint. I've heard a lot of hype about hobby lobby from the Pinterest and Etsy communities, so today I drove over 60 miles to check out the Hobby Lobby in Morgan Hill. But what disappointment! The good: Hobby Lobby has a huge inventory of crafting supplies for almost any arts-and-crafts project you could imagine - clay, scrapbooking, fabric, yarns, clay, and so on. They also have a ton of home-decor objects. The store is pretty well organized and very clean, and staff was very friendly. The bad: my problem with Hobby Lobby is the quality of their products. Almost everything I picked up was cheap and poorly made. Many items stocked on their shelves were already broken, chipped, cracked, or otherwise imperfect (and not marked down). For example - they're selling little clay birds for outdoor decoration with the beaks broken off. I picked up a bag of pom-poms and the thing exploded in my hand. When looking at the silk flowers, simply picking up a bunch and looking for the price tag caused several blossoms to fall on the floor. The decorative glazed pots were already chipped and scratched just sitting on the shelf. Almost everything is made in China - I felt like I was in a sweat-shop outlet, and could have found nicer things at the dollar store. No thanks. I'd rather support local artists for home decor objects, and would rather find craft supplies that are made in the USA if possible. Just a major disappointment. read more

I always thought this store had wonderful Customer Service, until I TRY to do my first return. I purchased an item and after putting it up on the wall, I notice that the package and the receipt did not match. The clerk had charged me sale price instead of Clearance price. I went back to the store to get the clearance price (took the box) but not the item that was hanging on my wall. They said no price adjustment because I needed to have the item in the box. Now what is wrong with this picture? The clerk over charged me and all I wanted was the adjusted price, but I was not willing to take the item off my wall and bring it back to the store. If I decide to shop her ever again, I will make sure I do not leave the register without looking at my receipt. read more

I came into your Morgan Hill, Ca store today at 9:45am and was told I was not allowed to go in until 10am because only seniors were allowed in the morning. That is fine and I appreciate that.. However I did not appreciate what happened after. I was in scrubs on my way to work and a employee asked if I was a nurse. I replied that I was a veterinary technician. She then said 'oh your not at risk, your not a real nurse. You can come back after 10am'. There is nothing posted about special hours online, on the app, or even in or on the store itself. There needs to be something so future customers know. Also to be treated like I'm not a nurse or at risk when I have the same education and training as an RN just for different species is not acceptable! We risk our health daily with the public and work long hours to care for pets just like a nurse cares for their patients, if not more exposed since we deal with the owners , people picking up medications and their pets. I was just appalled at the disrespect I was shown as a essential worker. I always go to Hobby Lobby before 10am since it is the only time before it after my shifts that the store is open for me to get craft supplies and gifts. read more

This store is awesome. It's huge, neatly organized and there's so much fun stuff! For being a company with strong Christian values, I was surprised they had NO baptismal party supplies! I came here thinking if anyone had these types of supplies, for sure Hobby Lobby would. I was stuck ordering supplies online for my sons baptism from other places with no store front. After taking a couple rounds around the store looking for some, I asked an employee and she said "yea it's a little ironic, we don't carry anything like that". They have many items for our hobbies for sure! Service is lacking! Could not find even one employee to help find an item in the back of the store. I gave up. The items I did have, we stood in line for 20 minutes only to have the cashier not give the correct discounts. We are told from him and the supervisor that Hobby Lobby does not use scanners! So, if items are not marked they just ring up the full price. Never once did the cashier look at an add. I kept reminding the items were on sale. I could not see what he was ringing up, as the register was in front of him. After the transaction, I noticed they were rung up incorrectly. He could not fix this. Had to call the manager. She said we needed to stand in return line! I said no way! So, we said to return the items. They have now lost customers and lost a sale. Picture a Michael's on steroids and that's what Hobby Lobby is. It's a crafter's heaven, an inventors paradise, and a teacher's great escape! Aisles and aisles of fun and wonderful items await you. If you need it, they've got it. If they don't have it, then try Amazon! They have everything from fabric, to canvases, to bedroom decor and really interesting pieces to hang. The floral section has these really cool, huge, almost Alice in Wonderland-y flowers. I've always wanted to buy them, but I don't really have much of a purpose besides admiring them :) This place is huge, no doubt. This particular location is never busy, residing in quiet ol' Morgan Hill. You need to devote at least an hour in here if it's your first time. You'll want to see everything! Don't blink you might miss something! The prices are great, almost unbeatable. They also have coupons on their mobile site (usually 40%), which doesn't apply to sale items. However, there are always things on sale! I've come here where Michael's has fallen short. Employees are pretty kind. Many times when I find an item I really want that's damaged, they'll discount it. Their seasonal section is so exciting because they have decor that you never knew existed for that particular season. (Christmas is the best!). I cannot wait to see what they have for the 4th of July. Only downfall is that they're closed on Sundays, but I don't mind a day off from crafting. :P read more

Nice products at good prices but this review is about the 20-30 minutes customers have to spend in line to checkout. The slow process puts customers at increased risk of Covid exposure being inside with 50+ people. I counted four checkout lines with upwards of 15 people in each line. I know retailers are faces challenges but there has to be a faster, safer way to checkout. read more

I could have spent hours here just looking at the items they had to offer, but I stuck to my craft list and got out before over spending. I definitely will be back here. My husband and I literally just got home from Hobby Lobby. Neither of us had ever been to one or been to that part of the Bay Area since moving here 2 years ago. Exploring is fun. I'm going to start off with informing you that aper crafting is totally my thing. I love to use stamps, ink, embossing, making my own custom books/journals/cards/just for the fun of it and 'art journaling' or whatever the phrase and my Smashbook. For this review though, I keep going back and forth between giving 3 or 4 stars... The 3 stars would have been for the following: 1. "Hobby" Lobby. My husband and I were expecting hobbies along the lines of rockets, a nice inventory of model cars of multiple types, train sets... you know, grown up adult guy toy stuff. I like that stuff too though!! 2. There was no staff around to help us out. We literally had to walk up and down about 10 aisles to find one dude who seemed like we were legit interrupting him. He wasn't rude or anything, but he definitely wasn't hospitable either. 3. Not only were there no staff to answer questions, there was like 2 cashiers available. When my husband said something kinda loudly about it saying, "This is a bunch of bull. There's no one to help around the store, and there's only 2 registers open?! Wowwww" and then like magic 3 cashiers came to the registers. 4. I knew and prepared to check out and have the employees manually enter in the item numbers, but hell, if I have to return something I picture that being a HUGE pain in the ass. 5. If I had known that it was mostly like a Jo Ann's type of store but with a WAY bigger selection, then I wouldn't have brought it up to go exploring together and just went by myself. I don't like dragging him through craft stores, and neither does he. The 4 stars would be for the following: 1. They have a significant amount of paper crafting stuff. 2. The whole store was clean and well organized, even the clearance stuff which is hardly ever organized in any store ever. 3.I had been searching high and low for certain products and found them here. I mean, I searched extensively online, in stores, asking in forums, everything I could think of. I found what I was looking for and more. I needed chipboard for my Chinch binding machine, and I found 3 sizes and a couple packages of each size, and by a couple I mean I cleared the shelf of the 3 or 4 they had of each package. I got to get a new set of binding rings at a size that I haven't been able to find anywhere. 4: I also got 2 stamps that were awesome (my husband picked them out actually; he said that they would seem like something that I would use often, and he has good judgement). 5. I also got ATC sized specialty stamping paper. I do want a bigger size, like 4"x6" or something, but they didn't carry it. 6. Also, I have been looking for a set of clear, alphabetical stamps with a nice font and multiple letters of the same; for example there are 3 e's and 4 r's or something like that. They have brand names, and brand names that I have never heard of, but not generic. read more
