I frequent Hobby Lobby all the time for crafty items and pieces to make my jewelry. This location is convenient for me since it's close to work and there are none near where I live. It's big and clean with lots of selections and usually the staff is friendly, but sometimes I have situations where they rush me, or end up overcharging me because they have to manually enter the item codes. Some cashiers also act like the discounts are coming out of their paychecks. I used a coupon for a purchase and was going to do a separate purchase of a different item on another card. I asked to use the 40% off coupon for both since they are separate transactions and the cashier made a big deal and said it's one per customer per day. I get their policies and understand if the coupon code was original, but I was doing two separate transactions and I know the coupon code is the exact same number code for everyone. Honestly how would they know if I went to another Hobby Lobby that day and used the coupon again. He just had a major attitude about it and was rude. read more

Customer service sucks from the females in this store!! I needed to pick up some crafts for some last minute Christmas shopping, and working in retail I know how associates should act with their customers.. You would think that around Christmas time people would be grateful for their jobs, but no. Not only were they doing a complete reset in the middle of the day.. but when I asked where an item was they acted like I was bothering them and told me it was on the back wall.. like I really want to walk around the entire store a second time trying to find the item. Don't you think they should be willing to actually help the people who enable them to work? When I walked to the back wall for the second time and failed tying to find the item I was looking for, I asked two gentleman at the framing location & they were so polite. It honestly makes me so sad to give hobby lobby a poor review. I'll probably raise it later on. I'm a frequent shopper of hobby lobby I keep up on all their sales and coupons, and I get really excited when I find a really good sale. Usually everyone is so friendly and willing to help with ideas and such. But when I went up to the register, I was really excited that all of my paper crafting supplies were going to be 50% off. (Yes I get excited over paper) When he was done ringing me up I asked him "wasn't everything supposed to be 50% off?" He quickly snaps a no at me. I'm like are you sure? Again with a quick no. I go "there was a big sign that said 50% off when I was grabbing everything" I'm starting to sense an attitude and he goes on to tell me I'm wrong and that the stuff I purchased didn't apply. By this time he was breaking a sweat so I decided just to let it go and leave the kid alone. When he was all done I decided to walk my happy little self over to the paper crafting area just to prove to myself that I am not crazy and that I am right lol. And just to reassure myself I asked the lady if I was reading the sale sign correctly. She was a total sweetheart (and in charge of that department) and told me I was right, & I should definitely go get my refund. I KNEW IT! So I walked to the registers and it was to packed & I had to get to a meeting, so I didnt have time. I'm probably the biggest advocate on great customer service, especially in a time where it's so hard to get a job. Shouldn't everyone be happy and grateful that they are working? I don't want to seem like I'm crying about a few dollars, (I'll just rant about it on yelp :P ) but what happened to "the customer is always right"? Or I could be wrong. Hobby Lobby - I know I'm not wrong.... Lol - Hobby Shops Near Me - Rancho Cucamonga, California

This review is based on the art department, as that is the only reason I would shop at this establishment. I was fairly happy to see that they had a decent selection, as there are no really great art stores in the area. That said, I was going to bite the bullet and spend $7 on Copic Art Markers, rather highly priced, but I didn't feel like driving to Dick Blick in Pasadena. I asked a worker to open the marker case so I could test out markers for a project, and the supervisor of the department stopped me and said I was not allowed to test out markers. Okay, now I've been to just about every real art store in the Los Angeles and Orange County area, and they ALL let you test out the markers. If I'm going to shell out $7 per marker, I want to know it's the right color, considering the color on the cap never matches the actual color. After much haggling with the supervisor, I finally was able to talk to the manager. Nice guy, but he obviously knows nothing about proper art supplies. He let me test out the markers after I explained myself, but he loomed over me while I chose all my colors, which took awhile. It was a very uncomfortable experience and I will not be going back. I'm sure crafters will like this store, but if you need art supplies, stick with Dick Blick or Art Supply Warehouse if you need supplies. Heck... go to Michael's! They're cheaper and friendlier, and they don't care if you test out the markers! read more

I frequent this particular Hobby Lobby about once a month but I never had such a rude greeting as when I went last night! I went in shortly before closing time, and the assistant manager was standing guard at the door and had closed the doors to the width of one person. It was 7:51pm. As I walked in I was given a dirty look and was brashly told the store was closing in "4 minutes" (even though it was closing in 9 minutes). I said, "Okay," and continued walking in with a cart (I can shop fast). Then to further deter me and let me know what an a*s I was, she said, "And we do make sure we get everyone out right at 8pm." Really? What was the warning for? I noticed myself get a little uneasy and I started to really rush my cart down an aisle labeled clearance, but once I was immersed there, I noticed lots of other people browsing around not looking rushed at all. Then the lights went out and a man over the load speaker announced they would be closing in 5 minutes (at least he could tell time). I grabbed a 3 panel room divider (had to buy SOMETHING!) and made a scenic route back to the registers. After I paid I headed back towards the same way I came in and the assistant manager (I think Christina) was still at the door shooing people away. As I walked by with my purchase, she looked very unpleased with me which really soured my impulse shopping which was supposed to be just a few minute breather away from home to relax. Since I am a scrapbooker, I do enjoy shopping here because I tend to find everything I need (and more), however being greeted and parted with such apathy is not a good look for this neighborhood craft store. read more

This store is HUGEEEE. You can basically find anything in here in terms of arts and craft. I usually get the coupons online and print them out or find it on my phone and have the cashier scan it at checkout. The prices of some of the items are a bit better than their competitor.. This place has everything you can think of to decorate your home and more... It is like Home Goods/JoAnnes/Michaels smashed into one store. But not with the limited supply of items that those might have... or the kitchen ware section.. at least I don't think they have a kitchen section. The place is huge. Let me see... anything you'd find at an art store, frames and custom framing, model cars, wreaths, fake flowers, jewelry supplies, yarn, furniture, pretty much anything that you might want to hang on a wall, birthday party section, card section, lamps, mirror, knobs of all sorts, old metal signs, shirts and such to silk screen or paint onto, scrap-booking supplies, ribbon, candles, seasonal items,... well, you get the idea. Take some time to wander as they have many aisles. It's well lit and clean. Check for the coupons/specials on the website and get the app for your phone coupon (it's for one regular priced item per day). Why pay full price? It is closed on Sundays. read more

This place is a hybrid between TJ Maxx Home Goods and Michael's! Great selection of fun furnishings for your home/backyard and then a galore of goodies for to satisfy your crafting/scrapbooking itch. Pretty genius if you ask me since it is a good stop for both husbands and wives. The store is pretty large, the largest of the Hobby Lobbys, I was told by an employee. There is another shop in Huntingon Beach. The prices appeared competitive. We stopped by right before they were about to close which is too bad for me but good for my bf because we would have definitely spent some more time there :P read more

I had only been to the Hobby Lobby in Las Vegas and was I excited when I heard that they opened one in Rancho Cucamonga. Although it definitely isn't close to my house (I live near Long Beach) we made the drive out there today and was so glad we did! Their fall decor was 80% off and almost everything else we were looking for was 50% off - so it was definitely worth the drive!! Hobby Lobby is a cross between Michael's, Joanne's and Home Goods. They have everything!! They have a HUGE floral selection, scrapbooking, home decor, fabric, frames and mirrors, candles, a fairly large wedding section, any arts and crafts items you can think of and rows and rows of Christmas items. There was so much, my head was spinning. Their prices were about the same as you would find at any craft store, except lots of things were on sale at 40 - 50% off. Not sure if it was because they had recently opened, or if they normally have lots of things on sale, but it was great for us! Whatever you need, you will most likely find it at Hobby Lobby. We will definitely be making a trip back out there in the near future. read more

Rude! Rude! Rude! Always have loved coming here but it seems like they dont care how they treat their guests. I have been here twice this week and both times the employees have been super rude! They want to argue with you about their prices when their signs are clearly not positioned right and are diseaving. Not to mention when i asked someone where i could find hooks she looked at me like i was stupid and told me "you didnt go far enough!" The cashiers are super slow, been in line for more than 30 min. When I go to upland hobby lobby they are super fast and friendly.

I come her about once a Month. I feel as if everything in the store is always on sale. Just to make you feel like your getting a good deal. I admit they have the cutest Home decor and wall hangings. The furniture is up to date. The fake flowers are gorgeous. You can shop for material and other random stuff. The place is huge you need time to look through the store. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't find anything. I have to ask where stuff is and sometimes the staff doesn't even know where there products are. I called in the other to ask if they sell 18 month t shirts and the person that answered the phone didn't know. So I had to ask him if he can ask someone that would no after being out on hold for a couple minutes he got back on the phone and confirmed they did carry baby t shirts. read more

I've never been to a Hobby Lobby before. There's a ton of home decor type stuff and fabric but I just walked by them and didn't really browse. I was here with my friend for art supplies. Yes, I come to visit my friend and we go off on these random tangents that lead us to thinking we should paint outside in the backyard...when it's possibly going to rain. The prices seem lower than Michaels. We were able to grab 2pack small canvases each, a set of brushes, palettes and some gold paint for my painting for under $20. If you have a iPhone they have a app that pulls up their current coupons too. I kinda wish I had one close to where I live. read more

We visited the Hobby Lobby in Rancho Cucamonga a few days before Christmas to buy a few last minute Christmas gifts for the family. The store was busy with holiday shoppers, and there were very few Hobby Lobby employees to answer questions about where certain items were located. The worse experience was checking out and paying for the items. Of the multiple registers in the front of the store, only 3 were open resulting in long lines -10-12 people in each line waiting to check out. The lines were barely moving, and it wasn't until they thankfully opened another register that I realized why. This store did not use scanners to register automatically the price of each item. The employee at the register had to look up the skew of each item, check if it were on-sale, and then hand punch the skew & price into the register. This process took forever as some people had 10 or more items they were buying. I cannot believe a large store chain like Hobby Lobby has not caught up to modernization and put scanners in every store to speed up the check-out process. I like Hobby Lobby stores, but someone needs to contact management and change this antiquated method of checking out. read more

This place is so huge that it's kind of impossible to not find what you need eventually. I think maybe there should be a store map or something to navigate the place a little easier. My go-to craft place is Michaels mainly because it's been around for so long. I forget hobby lobby is so close. The location is right next to target so it's uber convenient and excellent placement. It's a little hard to find help because the place is so spread out but the people that work there are helpful for the most part when you find them. Cashiers are slow (as all craft cashiers are) and a self check out would be super fabulous. This place is HUGE. Not only do they have tons of scrapbooking stuff (paper, stamps, tons of embellishments).. they also have stuff for needlework, yarn stuffs, various art supplies.. AND decorative furniture and other decorative items! I absolutely LOVE it that I came here two days in a row. Their prices aren't that bad.. and they have coupons similar to the ones at Michaels. They are closed on Sundays.. so don't plan on going there those days.. I can seriously get lost in a store like this and end up buying way more than I had anticipated. A very large store filled with any and all DIY crafts the imagination can handle. The store has employees that are polite. My 3 star review is the result of their check out process. We are at the mercy of a dirty ad folded into a folder and a cashier that will hopefully know what is on sale that week. I had purchased some craft material, paints and a canvas. Some items should have been considered "art" supplies while others were considered "craft". Well at check out the poor gal had to ask a supervisor what was what as anything under art would get the 50% discount. I did not have the time or the patience that day to try and figure out if I was charged correctly. But just not being confident in the price I pay. I feel if I went back and loaded up the cart with the same items the total would have been different depending on the cashier I had. Not a good feeling. read more

Like the other reviewer said, it's like Michael's, Joann's and Home Goods all wanted this space, but one couldn't have it and they all decided to combine into one store. As you might expect, there's tons of Christmas crap right now. They are pretty well discounted. Kind of weird that Aaron Brother's is about 50 yards away. I'm sure they lost some business to this place. Worth a browse. Nothing really special. This store is the first of it's kind for me. It's a store where you go in needing nothing, but come out with a bunch of stuff you never know you needed. They have a variety of things here that are also decently priced. A lot of home goods, arts and crafts materials, and a giant selection. It's basically as big as a regular walmart or a target. If you have time to kill and want to find things that you never knew wanted but feel the need to buy for to apparent reason, come here! read more

Purchased paracord from there, went to return it and had to wait fifteen minutes. During that time we were treated as if we were trying to return something that wasn't bought there. This big guy with tattoos on his upper arm came over (guessing it was a manager) and spoke to us as if we were idiots and was absolutely rude. So much so that I'm going to bring this up the ladder because I will never shop somewhere that treats their customers like that. After there little charade they found it and gave us our $3 back, yeah that big of a stink over $3. Not sure what business doesn't have system for returns but they don't. Disgusted. read more

I always find something I want or need here. (Whether I truly need it or not) I've tried many times to go into this store and walk out with nothing. It is impossible. My self control in this store disappears. The staff is all super friendly. I somehow always end up with that one item that has no tag....(yes I'm always that one person In line, I'm sorry!!!) but they are so patient with me and find one with a tag or price of some kind somewhere. I respect that they are closed on Sunday's, but Sunday is always the day I need something! Lol. It is great to see such a big corporation still have those home grown family values. Where can I start? I will never ever shop at hobby lobby again. I went in to purchase a case for the American flag. When the total came up I asked if there is a discount for the flag case if it's not on sale. And then I said oh there's a coupon & I pulled it up the sales person. never he mention to use the coupon. Fast forward, I called and spoke with the manager Jennifer who was on duty. I was told by her that the corporate office instructs the stores not to remind the customers to use the coupon. That they should have the coupon in hand. I kind of understand but given the fact that this flag case was for a person who is currently serving in the United States military and not suggesting that there may be a coupon available was a slap to my face. As I spoke to Jennifer she also did say "oh by the way we don't do any military discounts either". Which I would guess they don't do any first responders discount either. So I hate to be complaining about this but I will never ever shop at hobby lobby. And if hobby lobby is supposed to be a Christian supporting Store, their attitude & customer service says something completely different. I'm very saddened. I've been going to this store since they opened and i love it, to be honest. But today, I'm very, very frustrated as they can't allow me to give me what's missing in the item that I just bought yesterday! It's missing a letter "R" in the Just Married, as you can see in the picture. I didn't bring the whole banner back in the store because I already hanged it and just showed the picture to the Store Manager but she insisted that I have to bring back the item so she can exchange it to a complete one. But I refused because I have to go back and forth again and the price of the gas just went up today. It's not my fault that the item is incomplete but here they are, making it too inconvenient for me to get the missing "R". What kind of customer service is that?!!! Fail!!! IVE NEVER SEEN SUCH DISRESPECTFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE ,WHILE THE MANAGER WALKS BACK AND FORTH PRETENDING TO BE BUSY ,I noticed a lot of employees busy on the floor but when I arrived at the register I walked to the manager who was pretending to be busy instead of trying to allow customers to pay and leave I tossed my items on the counter and walked out along with other people ,I have never encountered this lack of customer service anywhere ,this was rediculous the line with one register open was lined out thru the store obviously out of control me n my wife had decided to come to hobby lobby instead of micheals etc ,but you taught me a lesson I will never step foot into that hobby lobby ever again I hope the managers bonus continues to grow even after they loose customers do to zero customer service read more

Where was this store when I was planning my wedding??!! This place has everything and anything related to decorating/crafts you can think of. It reminded me of the Michael's in downtown LA but nicer and easier to navigate around? The cashier reminded me that they have coupons online and told me to get one on my phone when I was buying a regular priced item. How nice was that? I am first and foremost a jewelry and interior designer. I actually went to Hobby Lobby for the first time this weekend to see if they had anything that I can buy in-store. I usually buy many of my pieces for my projects online, however, I am always fearful of the sneaky UPS theory getting in the way of my receiving what I paid for. When I first arrived, I could not find parking to save my life. It was as if someone was selling Dior or Guiseppe shoes at 5.00 a pair. I was totally shocked at how many people I saw briskly walking into this store. I said to myself, "Self, this is where you need to be. This must be the craft haven for my area." After parking, I walked in and was immediately greeted by a nice cashier, welcoming me to Hobby Lobby. This store definitely has everything. Home Decor items, Craft Decor items, etc. Most of my DIY projects can start with a piece or item from this store. If you are a serious DIYer and love to think of new ideas while you are in the store, this is definitely the place to shop. read more

Went in and I purchased a large piece of art. Lines were very very long and only two registers were open. After my purchase I walked out with my item and when the sun hit it I noticed it was damaged, scratched up in a couple areas. So I didn't even need to walk to my car, I just turned around and walked back into the store to immediately return the item. The lines were still super long. I must have waited about 20 minutes. I couldn't figure out why the two managers were just standing there watching. As the line I was in got longer I could hear other customers complaining about the the lines that were barely moving and wondering why both managers were just standing there. If that was not enough to drive me to complete irritation when I got to the register to return the picture I explained to the cashier that I literally bought the print and when I walked outside once the sun hit it I could see all the scratches on the print. She examined the scratches and had the nerve to ask me "So these scratches happened in the sun?" Not only was I completely irritated now but I was dumbfounded. read more

I think I died and went to crafter heaven. This is MIchael's on steroids. They have everything you need for each type of project you're doing. All the items you need are all in the same place so your not running all over the store. They are very well stocked and very friendly and helpful. Don't forget to use your coupon. What was that you left it at home... no problem, break out your smartphone and pull up a coupon on your smartphone and let them scan it... BINGO 40% off.
