I came to Hobby Lobby at 6:30 and I was waiting till Trevor will finish with his costumers (he had only two) it took him 1 hour and 30 minutes!!!! I was with 5 months baby waiting till someone will help me. Trevor was very focused and "did not see me" I was in front of him! Waiting patiently. (two costumers behind me - left, bc they saw how slow he is!) Store was closing at 8:00 pm and he told me he can't help me, because they are closed. I was in shocked!!!!! He took his time because he did couple mistakes with framing 3 pictures (it took him one hour and 30 minutes) He realized that he forgot to clean the mirror inside of framer, than he started all other again. I was feeling DISCRIMINATION, because he spend so much time for these two costumers and trying to help me in one minute.... giving me crazy prices etc.... Anyway, I came home and I ordered from AMAZON took me 15 minutes and I spend $100 for 7 frames. He was giving me price $117 for only one frame! I was very very very disappointed! Love this place. I'm a guy that likes to paracord. There are several crafts a guy can get into and this is the place to do it. I'm sorry but several of the negative comments in here are so ridiculous. I ALWAYS have a store employee ask if I need help. My fiancé and I have been coming here for the past few weeks getting things for our Wedding reception party. They have a great inventory, and a lot to choose from. My issue is with customer service. Everyone here acts like you're bugging the shit out of them. I asked for help locating the flowers I needed and the lady who helped me took care of it and special ordered them but just acted like I was a huge inconvenience the whole time. My fiancé called a week later to ask if our order had come in and the person on the phone had the hardest time working with my fiancé just trying to find our order. Again, just acted like we were a bother. We came in to get our flowers and other decorations, and stood in the customer service line where the manager was. All of the sudden the manager glares over at us and asks "WHAT DO YOU GUYS NEED"? We told her we were picking our special order - She cut us off and said "I CAN'T HELP YOU, YOU NEED TO GO TELL THE CASHIER THANKS" If it wasn't for my fiancé wanting to come here al the time, I wouldn't come. San Marcos location- The cashier got all pissy because I didn't "show her my coupon " at the start of ringing me up, after I just spent over $250.00! & helped sort all the items I bought for her. Then she forgot to hand me one of my bags ... After calling the store when I got home about the missing items I had to drive 44 miles back to the store to pick it up!! I went to Hobby Lobby today to find stuff for my baby shower. As I'm checking out I started getting light headed and my vision went blurry. I told my cashier Alyssa D I needed to sit down while she rang me up Bc I almost passed out. Alyssa was so sweet and understanding and she was AMAZING, but I had asked for water and I believe this dude was a manger as he wasn't on cashier but standing like he was watching over everything, white button up shirt and dark hair was SO rude. His facial expression and hand movements when asking if I was "going to suspend my transaction or what" seemed like I was annoying Bc I was about to pass out. I never had heard of hobby lobby until I moved to the east coast 4 year's ago. At that time it had been an hour or more drive, which I was not a fan of. We moved back this past April and while I was now aware of the location in Temecula -I was not up to driving all the way to Temecula either (I live close to the shore). I found out San Marcos would soon open their own location so naturally I put off my craft shopping just for this day in hope for a one stop shop. List in hand my toddler and I arrived about 1/2 hour after it opened. Staff at the door were welcoming, small & limited treats were made available that one could help themselves too , and the store had yet to be packed. It wasn't long that I had one young lady quickly assist me as I tried to locate a specific item near the department that carried bows and such. As I moved on the the fabric department, I grabbed what I needed, but didn't feel the same willingness by the employees in that department. There was no "be with you in a few minutes", "can I help you", nor "I'm open on this end of the counter to cut your fabric". There were 2 woman, an older lady with shoulder length blonde hair and a younger lady with short brown hair, at the the fabric cutting station. With the understanding the older lady was assisting a customer, not once did she acknowledge or look up to see a line forming. No one existed in my opinion. The other lady (short brown hair with initial K.S or K.L) who was not assisting anyone looked back 3 -4 times, said nothing, and went about her business folding fabric to put away. It was not until there were 6, maybe 7, of us scatterd that she finally start helping and that is after she asked the other co-worker a question. I guess since this was opening day maybe those two ladies came into work already stressed or had not had a lot of customer service training in the past. Either way, by 11 - 11:30 the store started to get packed, which by then I was ready to check out and head back home. Thankfully once at the register #10 I had a pleasant cashier (Elizabeth M.). Elizabeth made up for what those other two coworkers lacked in the fabrics department. I'll be back to shop regardless while also continuing to shop at the competitors since there are some things Hobby Lobby lacks in quantity or entirely. Also, hopefully by then the ladies in the fabric department will have a better day or receive additional training. Every item I picked up was under a sign that said there was a sale and not one was a sale item. The signs need to be made more clear. I came here to get my aunt some stuff for her crochet obsession and holy crap it's massive! I spent a good 20 minutes roaming the entire place and it's filled with endless craft supplies, etc. It was only open for a week when I went there and when I got there 20 minutes before opening, there was already several people waiting by the door... quite popular. I forget what material I had gotten my aunt, but they had amazing coupons (on your smart phone, of course) and for 3 things of it, it was only $11. Amazing price! The cashier that helped me was extremely friendly as well. I had gone to Michaels for all this stuff before HL opened and their stores were always messy, overpriced and filled with unhelpful and unhappy employees. I went to a Hobby Lobby today to buy an item using their 40% off coupon. There was a yellow price tag on the item, which apparently meant it didn't qualify for the coupon. Okay. What about a price match from another store? The first store that I visited flat out told me 'no, we don't do any price matching whatsoever'. I spoke to a manager who confirmed this statement. This is straight from the FAQ on their site: Do you honor competitors' ads? We do honor competitors' ads in-store if a specific price is listed and we stock the exact same item. However, we do not honor competitors' "percent off" ads or coupons. We exclude all Holiday door buster ads, Cricut, Silhouette, Sizzix, Cuttlebug, Simplicity & McCall's patterns, clearance, and closeout items from this policy. Sorry, competitors' ads are not honored online. So I went to a different Hobby Lobby after trying other shops. I wanted to talk to them about what I learned above. Initially, they once again there was no price matching. A manager arrived and claimed there WAS price matching however, there were several stipulations: 1) it had to be ON THE SHELF of the shop they were matching 2) it had to be the exact same 3) they had to call them to find these things out. I have done price matching at Target, Best Buy, Apple, JC Penny, Fred Meyer, Office Depot, and Petco. None of them have these requirements providing the retailer you're matching is reputable. Furthermore, they just need to check the price and move on with their lives. I'd like to point out I was not trying to match something outrageous. It was a $119 item (the SRP) which was $90 dollars (not on sale) at Home Depot. The second manager went into a diatribe about how these online places didn't have to worry about lights and fixtures and shelves. She actually went on and on about the difficulties of running a brick and mortar store. In any event, the ultimate truth was that they really just wanted us to pay and leave. By the way, I ensured I was in a line that wouldn't jam up traffic. No one could get in line behind us because the checker closed down after us. I wasn't not wasting the time of other customers. I just wanted to understand why they wouldn't follow the company policy. Her answer was that she doesn't have anything to do with the web site. Despite the fact that, as you can see above, the only place you CAN get a price match is in the store. I will never go back. There are WAY too many options. read more

If I could have given it a zero i would have. About a year ago when i first found out about Hobby Lobby i was ecstatic about going to this store- I am a professional organizer and an avid crafter so I was of course excited for some variety outside of Michaels and JoAnn's....for the most part my first few visits did not disappoint- the size of the place and amount of inventory is a definite feast for the eyes and be prepared to spend much more time than anticipated- each time I have gone I was shocked at how quickly time passed-and a little sheepishly embarassed at how long i was actually shopping, but when im on a budget i have to make wise decisions!! This brings me to my first point of contingency: Returning items is neither easy nor pleasant so make sure you are happy with your purchase. I would get into it in detail but in the interest of not dragging this on forever let me leave it at that and move on to my second and main point of contingency: HOBBY LOBBY HAS BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Shopping is a sport for me and I have done it all over the west and east coast as well as 11 other countries, so that statement is very well researched and extremely heartfelt. Now that I am starting to write reviews for craft stores and am starting to break into the crafting community online, i really have to make use of my time at a store and be thorough in my selections and because i only go to Hobby Lobby a couple times each season I knew i had to get through the whole store during this last visit in order to be thorough. Now I have enough retail experience from previous jobs and years of being a consumer to understand how to conduct myself when shopping. On the contrary, I also know what signifies suspicious behavior and sends up red flags. Let me assure you that neither my appearance or my behavior should have put any employees on my case- I was not attempting to deface merchandise or alter prices, i did not take anything out of it's packaging, i did not attempt to conceal or hide merchandise in any way. Nothing of the sort, not even a little bit. I was clean and well dressed and do not believe i especially stood out in any way ....so it was pretty much a mystery to me why i was rudely followed by employees the entire time i was in the store, basically making me feel as if i was being pushed out of the store and was a burden to them in each and every department. Again, i could go into great detail but let me cut to the chase with this tidbit: I was asked if i was "finding everything allright" at least 6 times by the same male employee and shortly after each time he would ask me that i would hear the same voice over the store's PA system announce that security needed to be on high alert in whatever department i happened to be in. Im not joking this happened so many times that i all of a sudden couldnt get out of there fast enough and raced to the checkout with tears in my eyes. Unfortunately i have that character flaw that triggers the wrong emotion when im angry. Instead of strong, steady and confident i come across as.... not that!! Long story short, i will not be returning- at least not to this location which is a shame.....i currently live in this area and several years ago i earned my graduate degrees at CSUSM, and then i even worked in this community for a short time as an educator. I obviously care about San Marcos and dont feel a large store that employees people that behave this way towards members of its community (or any customer at all really!!) has any place or future here, and i am sure i am neither the first nor definitely the last to voice this concern; nevertheless, it bothered me enough to make this my first official negative review. To be honest, i wouldnt care if Hobby Lobby was charging ten times less than it's competitors (and trust me that is not even close to being true).....I will never frequent this location (or any if i can help it) again!!! I had a poster custom framed for my dad's birthday through Hobby Lobby's framing department. My first time using this service. Unfortunately when I returned to pick up my order, they had ordered the wrong frame! They apologized and told me they would order the correct one, which didn't do me any good because it wasn't going to be done in time for my dad's birthday. I told the gentleman why I was completely crushed and all he could muster was an "I'm sorry." When I returned again to pick up my order the worker said sorry and handed me my frame. There was no offer or attempt to make up for their mistake. My family loves Hobby Lobby! Such a huge selection of big variety of things for the home -- from furniture to art glass to crafts supplies and decorations for all the holidays. Prices are excellent, too: I bought a very pretty Thanksgiving decoration for our front door (looks like an antique, hand painted weathered wood, for $6.) My daughter bought two adorable highly decorated Christmas stockings for a total of about $15. Customer service is very helpful and friendly, too! read more

I LOVED Hobby Lobby until yesterday... A heads up to anyone placing an online order, you may not be able to return your items in the store. Apparently they only accept returns in store IF that store carries that particular item. If not, you have to mail it back to Hobby Lobby. Also don't expect a refund back to the card you paid with. Hobby Lobby's shipping receipts do not show the form of payment so you can only get a store credit back. Hobby Lobby's return policy and system are so outdated. Lastly, if you end up in Laura's line prepare yourself for horrible service. You won't get a friendly demeanor or a smile. She probably won't even look at you. I returned to Hobby Lobby the same day I had bought wood wall decor, because it was missing a hook and I was going to exchange the wall decor for a new one. When I walked in, Brenda was sitting up front and told me to go back to framing so that Nathan could add a hook for me. After Nathan added the hook (who was also such a sweetheart), I was leaving and Brenda was uniquely polite. I had a sweet little conversation with her and she was so genuine- the kind of genuineness you only see in the South. California needs more people like her! I am new to the Hobby Lobby store, and was in the San Marcos location. After walking the whole store, had a cart full of items. I went to ask a store associate a question. Up to this point I was having a great experience in the store. Until I spoke with a store associate, whom was annoyed I came to ask her a question in the first place. Her tone of voice was extremely disrespectful, she spoke to be as though very loud, very slow in an extremely condescending tone. And mind you this woman was in her mid-to-upper 40s, old enough to have been taught respect, and what real customer service is. Better read the fine print on the coupons! They will post generic coupons on their website and not honor them, pointing out hard to read print. Also, their products just aren't good. After being turned down on a discount for a frame, I went to Michael's and found a much better frame for even less than the Hobby Lobby discounted price.
