I woke up with a craving for pesto, artichoke hearts, and coffee cake. So I decided I had to have Hobee's! My boyfriend got the seasonal scramble: sleigh ride. It was actually very delicious. I'm kind of kicking myself for not trying the Holiday Hash Bennie Bowl. Honestly, I swear I used to get something like a Santa Cruz bowl that had artichoke hearts and pesto, so I ended up adding artichoke hearts to my Sonoma bowl. Of course, it's not a trip to Hobee's without their coffee cake, and I had to try the candied bacon. Initially the candied bacon came out pretty underdone for my liking, but after throwing it back on the grill it was much more enjoyable. And I ended up drinking a Mexican Mocha because...why not? All in all, not a bad haul for $62 before tip. I had leftovers, and satiated a nostalgic craving while introducing my boyfriend to a new to him place.

I came here with my brothers on a Saturday morning and it was busy! Luckily we just had to wait 10 minutes for our table. The ambiance felt very homey and the service was relatively quick. The food was pretty good and well priced for the portion sizes. I had to try the coffee cake since they're known for that and it did not disappoint! It came out warm and the textures/flavors definitely made it one of the better coffee cakes I've had! I also got the pancake combo and added some breakfast potatoes, which was pretty good as well. Just knocking one star off since the water cup I got was dirty and it took the waiter a second to bring me another cup after I pointed it out.

Ordered el ranchero (9/10), BBIT (best breakfast in town, 8/10), grits (8/10) and orange juice. Food overall was pretty good, pancake and coffee cake were yum as well. Service was quick and servers were friendly and attentive. Diner has a good positive feel and a sunny day in the Bay Area added cherry on top. Will visit again.

Amazing food, amazing service and ambiance was not that bad. The place was heavily crowded and people just kept coming in. The food was delicious. It's just amazing, every bit of it. Must try for brunch lovers.

We haven't been to a Hobee's in years, mainly because the local one in the Pruneyard closed. It was one of our favorite places for breakfast. We were out and about and decided to go to one Sunnyvale location. It' a small place, surrounded by several hotels. It is a bit dated but clean. There is not much parking in the front. Not sure if there is parking on the side or the back. Breakfast was great! All of our favorites were still on the menu. My husband has the hash and I had the Greek style omelette. Had to get the blueberry coffee cake and the red, white and blue smoothie. We also had the tea. Everything tasted great and definitely missed the coffee cake.

Happy 4th to you all out there in USA. Had to take my lady to try out Hobee's and she loved it. Our waitress Ernestina is a 14 year veteran and was a TRUE ONE. Great job on her service and communicating to us on all the plates. I decided to try out some breakfast rice bowl that was off the hook delish! Muy bueno! The Griddle pancakes with a bunch of food packed inside was splendid. It had bacon, cheese, avocado, onion. PHAT! The place was packed with customers and it was buzzing with happy liquor'd individuals. Hijole!!

The world-famous blueberry coffee cake was pretty disappointing--dry and tasteless. I've had it before, and it was just as I remembered. I also got an entree, which was decent--filling and pretty good. There are usually long lines on weekends. The environment is nice, though--cozy with a cabin vibe.

This is a great breakfast spot for me to grab a few things to go. Usually just a piece of blueberry coffee cake and a strawberry energy blend drink to go. Service is fast and friendly, doesn't take much time to get what you need.

The Hobee's chain is a local favorite. Over the years, Hobees's has been closing locations throughout the Bay Area. A few still exist, including this one spot near a bunch of motels and adjacent to a major freeway. The traditional sweet tea is a favorite along with the coffee cake. I've always been partial to the pancakes. Service was great and the ambiance is traditional diner vibe.

Hobee's is a solid spot for American breakfast. It has that trusted, old-school diner feel with simple, home-cooked food. Nothing fancy, just comforting breakfast dishes done well. A nice place if you're looking for a classic breakfast with a cozy vibe.

Went for a Father's Day brunch, and they seated us pretty quickly. Thought that it being packed was a good sign, but all the food was surprisingly average. Tofu scramble was not seasoned well and the side of hashbrowns were a mix of over and undercooked. Pancakes were a bit tough and chewy, not the light and fluffy stack I expected. We also only got a small, paper cup side of maple syrup while other tables received a metal syrup dispenser, not sure why. All around, average. South of the border omelette was great and had a lot of toppings! Wish I got this instead.

Came over the weekend for a quick breakfast and was seated right away! Ordered one of their specials - a twist on their sweet potato hash and eggs, but this one had chorizo, a chipotle sauce, and I added avocado. I wish that they would add this to the regular menu! It was delicious! Just that little spice really made this dish great. It wasn't super busy so it wasn't too loud or anything, even though we were seated near a large party. Hobee's is one of my favorite breakfast spots and I'll always be coming back!

A tin of coffee cake is $20+.

For the amount of people working they could probably have servers take your order. Still not a problem as this is much quicker than having to wait. This place has a large seating area inside and a decent size outdoor patio. Everything is self serve, get your own water, napkins, condiments. The only thing missing was silverware. I had to ask the counter where the silverware was. She stated that when they bring out the food, they will bring out the utensils. Kinda confusing since everything else was already out at stations. We got the French toast combo and the blueberry pancakes that were on special. The French toast had a great flavor. Orange zest, cinnamon, mixed with butter. Bacon was crispy but not burnt. The pancakes tasted fine,it said it came with bananas and blueberries. I could see the blueberries, but not the bananas. Thought I could taste banana. Not sure how they cook the pancakes, but they stayed hot and took a while to cool down. Normally most pancakes come out luke warm at best. Food was good but the vibe was off.

I'll be frank. There are a lot of breakfast spots that seem to be frequented by retired folks and most of them to be honest or not that good but are reasonably priced. This place is not that. The food is not cheap, but it is excellent and you get a lot. Cannot recommend this place enough and I hope it never ever goes away. I've come a few times already and both time within the month has been dead. I ordered their chili dog and it was way too sloppy and salty. The bun is sliced flat while the hotdog was sliced and spread apart. The chili was dumped on top and was so difficult to eat. I'm not sure why they didn't just keep it as a regular hot dog for a regular hold. The fries tasted frozen and with that raw texture. It wasn't salted either or fried all the way. Not good. Kenny and the staff are extremely kind and caring, and even when the place fills up they deliver excellent service. However, I thought the food we ordered was just ok. Ordered the #1 (Breakfast burrito), #5 (breakfast sandwich). Both items' composition was not the best. They were wrapped with the wrapping paper that didn't securely hold the entire sandwich/burrito securely. Especially for the sandwich, the cheese and meat were easily spilling out from the sides. The burrito was standard, but I felt the same way more or less regarding its structure. Additionally, the flavor was ok and good at best. The meal came with red salsas, which look to be house made since it was clear there is pickled onions and some other little things in it. Honestly it is an ok salsa, I'm not sure if this particular flavor is what I'm looking for to complement a breakfast burrito normally. We had an OK experience. The restaurant seems like a fairly small shop (run by family)! While I'm all for supporting local and mom/pop shops, I probably would not wait over 15 minutes for it. Maybe will have to try the bulgogi items next time! But for breakfast burrito/sandwich it was just ok to me.
