We stayed at a hotel next door and visited for lunch, and we liked it so much we came back the next morning for breakfast. They have a great variety of choices, lots of vegetarian options, bowls, sweet breakfasts, sandwiches, etc. I can't imagine anyone not being able to choose something off the menu. Service was friendly, a little slow at times but not bad. Coffee was surprisingly good for a diner. I enjoyed both my meals - I had a lunch bowl with salmon and a breakfast bowl with poached eggs over potatoes. My husband had an omelet and then a breakfast burrito. With some breakfasts you can choose to get the blueberry coffee cake with your breakfast and it was massive and delicious, especially with butter. I think it would be better if it were half as tall, it seems like there is too much cake vs. topping. The place is super old school and looks like it's been there since the 50s. Seems like they have a lot of regular customers from the neighborhood.

How can you not keep coming back? I have! For years and years! Famous cinnamon herbal tea while you wait on crowded weekends. Good for the soul. Last week, there was NO wait! Came in and were greeted warmly. Seated by the window and allowed to peruse the updated menu. BDBIT (best darn breakfast in town!) was still on the menu. As were the hash brown scrambles. Today I got a simple tofu scramble. Perfectly cooked, with home fries, and my choice of hot sauce and KETCHUP!! Came with a single pancake and syrup :) As always, coffee cake was massive and delicious. Brought home an extra slice for later!

-2 stars because I found a hair on my silverware and brought it to the server's attention. My cup of hot water had tiny lint strings in it and had to get a replacement. Mug didnt look so clean as it had stains on it. The place is an okay spot to come grab breakfast or brunch. Hard to get a servers attention as you have to wave them down

Food is delicious! Smell of their tea is warm and cozy. Service is slow. Huge menu with everything you could want for breakfast!

I have to try beloved local institutions to assess the hype. I ordered the florentine scramble mainly because it came with a side of the famous blueberry coffee cake. The scramble was fine, but the coffee cake was a little bland and doughy. The best part of the meal was the housemade cinnamon tea which was strong and unique and delicious. Now that I've tried the legend, I'd mainly come back just to buy tea - do they sell it by the gallon? Logistics: - indoor and outdoor seating - small parking lot with limited street parking nearby - it gets very busy at peak times: we were able to get a table for three at 12:30 on a Sunday but the wait for food time was very long and servers hard to track down.

Great service, ambiance is giving old school family owned diner, just what's we were looking for as we geared up for a long road trip. We ordered the cheese scramble with the homestlye hashbrowns, Mickey Mouse pancakes and a side of scrambled eggs, and the Eye openers. The food was good, but the star here was the blueberry coffee cake! That's all imma say! LOVE!

It's been two years and I'm still thinking about this place. I can't wait to go back! I'm literally writing this at 1:07 AM, lying in bed, craving eggs benedict. The service was so good! The decore was warm like a cozy cabin but more than anything- my food was hot and delicious. And they gave us such a large helping of the smoothie, my best friend and I could share it! I neeeeeeeed to get my tail to the west coast just for this.

This was my first time here, hubby has eaten here before. Miguel seated us, sooo nice. We ordered our drinks, I ordered bacon and eggs, potatoes and coffee cake. Took coffee cake with us, too big. Yummy!! Hubby ordered Bennie's florentine, the food was very good. Service was fantastic! Very cute place. Highly recommend!

Both coffee drinks were excellent - strong and flavorful. We definitely ordered way too much food, but it was delicious! My omelette was basic but tasty, and the pancakes were insane. We skipped the cotton candy topping, but the lemon-custard cream and homemade whipped cream were incredible. Service was quick and seamless. Would definitely return for more!

This was faster than expected, as we tried coming here around noon the weekend before, and the wait was over 30+ minutes before we decided to go somewhere else to eat. The omurice was okay - galbi was kinda sweet and the rice was on the wet side. The egg tasted pretty buttery. I thought the combination did not really work together. I liked the matcha moffle. The matcha cream was very good and flavorful and went well with the texture of the mochi waffle. The service was not great. I'm not sure if they were shortstaffed, but no one stopped by to take our order and we had to flag someone down. We had to ask for water. They refilled 1 person's water but not everyone else's, even though my cup was almost empty. When they dropped off the moffle, they didn't provide a knife and we had to ask for one. The server did bring us sharing dishes unprompted which was nice. The people who picked up our plates and utensils were very quick and came around more often that the server. Tip options start at 18% on the card reader, but you can customize the tip to the service you received. Ambiance - a little hard to have a conversation and talk with people at my table, we had to keep asking each other to repeat ourselves. Overall, probably wouldn't come back, I can get better food, ambiance and service elsewhere.

Although it was a decently sized plate, I guess I expected a bit more for over $25...the french toast was like two halves of one slice, but the chicken apple sausage and potatoes were good. Coffee was nice as well, and they kept coming by to refill, which was nice and needed. However disaster struck when one of the waiters knocked off a tray from a ledge right by our table. The tray crashed onto our table and spilled water, hot coffee, and creamer all over me, and our under two year old who started crying. I rushed over to check for burns from the coffee, but luckily it was okay. After the clean-up I was waiting to see if anyone might come by to ask if anything was needed, let me know if I could get more food since I wasn't entirely finished, or at least apologize and comp our meal. Unfortunately I didn't get any replacement food, and they brought the bill and mentioned that we didn't have to pay for coffee...$68 pre-tip was a little upsetting after our experience, even though I know accidents can happen... Of course, later on I smelled spoilt because of the creamer/milk that was still on my clothes after walking around the Farmer's Market...lovely...

Everything is above average in taste and execution. Brunch Tacos mole: chicken mole poblano, scrambled eggs, huitlacoche, tortillas, epazote crema, fried shallots & avocado. Perfect portioning and the salad that came with it had a fantastic dressing. I pulled some chicken out and gave it to my wife and then it was perfect, a bit too overstuff before. The mole and overall taste were quite good though. Chilaquiles: tortilla chips sautéed in chile de árbol-guajillo salsa, topped with queso fresco, cilantro crema, and an egg. My wife loved this so much it made her question every time she didn't order it before. Fried egg sandwich: two over easy eggs on house baked brioche bun, chipotle aioli, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, fried shallot. Kids loved this and happily ate the leftover after. Iced Mexican Cafe: delicious iced coffee with a distinct Mexican taste. Distrito Verde: mezcal, basil, lemon, and falernum. Simple but refreshing brunch cocktail, really paired well with the mole tacos. Chips and salsa: These are not free but worth the price. Both the chips and the 2 salsa are of extremely good quality and preparation. Abnormally tasty and the kids went crazy eating it.
