Very disappointing experience overall. I called them out to assess a tub that was draining very slowly. They attempted to cable the drain but were unsuccessful. Then they tried to disassemble the tub drain, also without success. At that point, they told me the only way forward would be to demo the foundation of my home to remove the drain entirely and locate the blockage. I said I'd need to speak with my wife and would call them back with a decision. Later that evening, I used a basic drain cable myself and successfully cleared the blockage -- a gross hair clog. I called to let them know and was offered a credit for half an hour of labor. I had paid for 1.5 hours of labor for the unsuccessful visit. I reluctantly accepted the half-hour credit and decided to use it to have them come out and cap off an unused water softener system. They came out and did the work (under 30 minutes), but after they left, I discovered they had cut off my home's hot water -- the water softener was connected to the water heater, which they didn't account for. I called them back out, and they corrected the issue on a second visit, but told me this was my fault and charged me again for one hour of labor plus additional parts. In the end: * They failed to clear my drain, which I fixed myself. * They caused another problem while doing the "makeup" job. * Then charged me again to fix the mistake they caused. * I ended up with more inconvenience and more costs -- not less -- for a problem they never resolved in the first place. read more

Clint from Hobi came out, and took care of a mainline backup and a slow draining shower. It was so bad the toilets were not flushing and sewage water was backing up into the bath tub. My experience with these guys was that they were useless. Sent their technician to my house to try to fix a low pressure issue on my kitchen sink. My cold water side was kinda weak, but the hot side was blasting strongly as it should. When they left both sides are super weak. I wanted a new nipple installed for my cold water side. What I got was a sink that is now twice as weak as when I started. The technician had a bad attitude and even asked me to borrow some of my own personal tools. They never installed a new nipple. Simply disassembled my valves and put them back together. When he put the valve back on, it had a slow drip leak. He said it's no big deal and to just put a cup under there. When It never leaked in the first place. I relentlessly cut the check, because business is business. But called the owner to let him know he's been paid but wanted to let him know how the job went. He got surly and defensive and using foul language without letting me finish my sentences. I used to own a small business next to their shop and I have seen him lose his mind all the time. I would give one star to these guys but I know their family and figure I'll give them a pity star. I know they have big accounts with downtown Disney and other commercial people and it's probably much easier to continue to rip off those big companies. Technician knew things were worse than when he started but said he had two other jobs to get to, so fuck me right? Wanted to tell the owner how it went and he pretty much said the same. EDIT: removing the pity star going back down to one star. realizing even if I know the family, I could've used some guy standing outside the Home Depot and he may have still screwed it up but wouldn't be so aggressive about making his own mistakes. I always try to support small businesses but looks like the bigger plumbing companies have their shit together. read more

I had a leaking bathtub in the middle of the night on Friday and they were the only company that could come on such short notice. The guy was nice and the job was done and fixed. It still leaked but it was a slow leak and he said that was normal with old tubs. He said it could be fixed but that it would be very expensive so I agreed to leave it at that (a slow leak) NOW today it's starting to leak a lot like when they first came to fix it. I called and the service representative was very rude. Anyway, he said they wouldn't charge me to come out if it was their error but if they find it wasn't their error, I would have to pay (I wanted to use a different plumber if it wasn't their error because they're expensive) BUT NO! I would be charged if they came and went to see what the issue was. I would not recommend this plumber unless you're desperate like I was one Friday night. Besides, it shouldn't be leaking again if they did it right the first time! read more

We recently moved into a mid-century home that has two inch pipes (standard is 3 in), so unfortunately, I've needed a plumber more often than normal. I believe they've been to my house 3-4 times in the past several months for varying issues. Each time they've been super helpful, explained issues and given me options. Well let's just say that something is going on with this company I have used for years. I questioned the owner about an employee that said he doesn't work on residential, and said other things that didn't seem like he was all that as a professional plumber should be. 1st bad vibe. He didn't have pipe dope on the truck. 2nd bad vibe. Questioned what the aerator was. 3rd bad vibe. Showed him the oven gas line that needed to be moved to a lower in specs position. Showed him the new faucets that needed to be installed and the garbage disposal and parts. It is a brand new redo of the entire kitchen, bathroom, floors, carpet , paint etc for renting to a new tenant so we wanted it clean when the work was done. Was yelled at by the owner for me just asking if this guy knew what to do. My bad for not stopping the work then and there. I am too nice of a guy and don't react to being yelled at with anger. ( At one time he may have, but not that day) Well We got the call it was done so I drove all the way back and let's just say the water was not turned on to check for leaks. I had to call them back out because the bathroom sink faucet and sewer connection was leaking on my brand new cabinets. The gas line valve and box was sticking out of the wall. Under the kitchen sink had not been swept. The water heater and wall furnace was not relit. He came back out and stopped the leaks and turned on the gas. Last chance to come back out do to the fact we have to let them come back out to try and fix it. We have to now change the gas line for the stove. My wife and I have both been yelled at for asking about an employees confidence level and that the appliance installers won't attach to the gas line that was put in incorrectly and we have to let Hobie out again. NO WAY!!!! At what point is enough enough? No one yells at my wife or threatens her and thinks it is ok. NEVER! Never be afraid or concerned to ask ANY trade on your property a question regarding an employee because most trades sub out work to others because they are to busy now and we were just concerned that someone would take advantage of us and not do a Professional job we paid top dollar for. And by the way, I worked in the construction trades and know what to look and ask for to make sure I am confident with the workers on my property. read more
