So it's 3pm today and dropped by for a burger. We did seat ourselves as we came in the back door and it wasn't that busy, a couple of tables, some folks outside. I guess we were being taught a lesson as we weren't acknowledged even though the bartender looked our way . A simple acknowledgment would have gone a long way. After 5 minutes of being ignored we got up and walked over to Improper Pig. Simply fair feedback with the hopes of seeing improvement in one of our $10 burger joints. read more

We went to Hobo's they have a nice outdoor seating area and an area for kids and pets to play in. It was a unseasonably warm day and the place was very busy. We got a table outside pretty quickly. We had the cajun rubbed wings to start. They were really good. I ordered the southwest burger and my wife had the Martin melt both were very good. That paired with a cold beer is pretty good in my book. Our server Daisha was really attractive, as busy as she was she was sure to come out and keep us posted on food arrival and not just leaving out there to wonder. She was great. Thank you. read more

Absolutely terrible. Had to send back burger twice times as it was burned each time . Ordered medium. Second time delivered wrong meal. Third time I gave up and tried to eat it. Again, way overcooked. Finally gave up and decided to bring it home to the dog. (He was not impressed). Appetizer came after the meals were served. Waitress was not helpful or apologetic in any way. Seemed to imply it was my fault burger was cooked incorrectly and that she delivered wrong order. Tried to find manager but he was unavailable. Arte here about 6 mom's ago and had a good meal. Location and a wide variety of craft beer on tap is the only thing Hobo's has going for them. The food is bland and boring. The burgers are dry even when cooked to Medium temp. The shrimp isn't fresh and is breaded in this awful, overly salted batter. Would not recommend for food. read more

4 of of us went for some dinner. The wings were good and the drinks were good and that's the best I can say. My main issue was my dinner!!! Ordered flank steak tacos with onion strings. The food was room temperature at best. After waiting 10 minutes for our waitress to return informed here meal was cold. She offered to get me some more onion rings!!! Ok, look at my plate food was barely touched. No I don't want to send it back for another try, not that crazy!!! Thought she'll realize I got a bad meal and take it off the bill. NOPE!!! Do not waste your $ or your time. It was an awful experience from the get go. Should've walked out after the hostess without the mostest was rude & acted as if we had ruined her night by coming by. The nachos - were eatable but the "cheese" gag!!!!! I ordered the apple burger - where was the apple? Oh that shriveled up slimy thing on top? The burger was dry. My hand cut fries were BURNED. BURNED. My hubby got the chicken & waffles & it was sub par. The waitress was basically non existent. I know they were busy but sheesh. It took us 25 mins to place our order. 15mins for refill til we asked another gentlemen working there then another 10mins to tell her about my fries which I subbed for the corn chowder - yummy! We decided to try Hobo's last night because they allow dogs. Our waitress was super great and brought our dog a cup of cold water. We ordered a hamburger with fries. They have different toppings and a good variety. The only thing is my hamburger was over cooked. I ordered medium well and it was well done. Flavor was good even though it was a little done for me. Good food, casual atmosphere and a fun selection of eats and drinks. They were short staffed but we didn't have to wait too long to be seated. Our servers were both really sweet and kept us refilled with water (really important, seeing as we decided to sit outside and it got HOT!!). I had the oriental salad with shrimp and my husband had the chicken salad wrap special with Cajun fries. We were both very pleased with our meals. We'll be back to try more. read more

Amazing burgers. The french fries are hand-cut. Believe it or not for a burger joint this place has the best Cobb salad I have ever had. The staff is awesome. There is a wait most Fri & Sat nights;but totally worth the wait. All sauces and dressings are made from scratch. They even make there own buffalo sauce. We love the food and outdoor seating at Hobos. The inside is quite loud however. We love the burgers, chicken sandwich, fish, and chicken and waffles. We are frequent visitors and always enjoy our food and experience here. It's pretty at Christmas with the lights all lit outside on the lawn. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

First time customer. Had order delivered to home tonight. Order was perfect. Vagabond burger-well done-but still juicy, well seasoned, and plentiful toppings. Lots of melty cheese and NOT greasy. Thick patty. It's a large sized burger. Now THAT'S a burger!! Delicious. BLT was a hit. Plenty of thick bacon. Hobo's unique take on the sandwich is the tomatoes are fried green ones. Love fried green tomatoes. If they aren't your thing, can probably ask for reg instead. The toast it came on was still toasty! No soggy bread here!! Very filling. Grilled chicken sandwich was soooo good! Seasoned, juicy, lick your fingers good!! Again, no soggy bun. Chose slaw for one of the sides. Really good, simple southern slaw. Not full of celery seed. Thank you!! My daughter refuses to eat most slaws because, for some reason, most places use it in abundance and ruin a perfectly good slaw. Hobos uses just enough mayo for creamy goodness. Not watery. Fries for other sides. Yummy! Cooked to a perfect soft center. Can eat with a fork. Not hard, crunchy, cooked to death pieces that once could have been potatoes. Salted on point. Will definitely eat at Hobos again! Can't wait to try some of their other food. Open all week including Sundays. Good kitchen hours. Very reasonably priced. Lots of food on your plate. 1st time...neat little place. If the weather permits I would suggest sitting outside because the inside is a little too crowded for me. We kept getting bumped by customers and staff coming thru. Service was pretty good. Only complaint was that the hostess seemed a little oblivious and confused when we walked in.. Lol. We ordered fried pimento fritters... Very yummy! Great little burger joint with an outdoor patio and an breezewat walk up bar. Very nice touch. The decor is outstanding. It really captures the old Mainstream history, while maintaining modern clean lines; lots of brick on the wall, railroad bar kickstands, and railroad anchors to hang your coats on. All new from the looks of it, so no allergens. It's beautiful. The food is very good. We started with giant homemade tater tots that we filled with gooey cheese. I got 1.5 pieces. I was robbed. :) I'm not sure how many were there to start, but I'm sure my husband ate more than two. I would say order two baskets. They are good! I had a black bean burger. It came with avacado and sprout people! Sprouts. It was as big as my head. Gid had a double patty with cheese and bacon he had to walk away from. He couldn't finish it. Everything was very good. My one complaint was my veggie burger could have been a little thinner or spicier. It was a little bland, but the consistency of my burger was good and homemade. Usually veggie burgers are a kiss of death next to the word homemade. This was not. Next time I will order it with extra avacado and some hot sauce on the side. Went back again as my hubby loves the food here. I have yet to have a good meal other than the salads. So today we go back to keep hubby happy. I decided to try something different AND give the wings a try as well. Much to my surprise, the wings are cooked to perfection and my 'Steak Quesadiila in a cauliflower wrap' was perfect. Tasty, hot and more than I could handle. The wings are light, not covered in flour and dry. They are juicy & flavorful. Perhaps a bit crunchy but loaded with flavor. I'd like to add that the salads, and I've had quite a few, are very good. Fresh, crisp lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes are always crisp. The dressings are top notch too. I was pleasantly surprised today. My hubby felt better about it too since I didn't complain about the food this time. Service has always been very good. read more

I am so happy to see this place going strong and bring business into the downtown Fort Mill area. I finally had the chance to try HoBo's over the Thanksgiving break. I can see why this place is always busy and packed. The food and service was great! Their french fries were crisp and seasoned perfectly, I loved their grits and I don't even like grits that much. They have great fried green tomatoes. The wings were awesome! Their food is very unique! They don't ONLY have your "typical bar food." I ordered the cobb salad. It had egg, bacon, tomato, mixed greens, grilled chicken, avocado, candied pecans, and ranch on the side. IT WAS AMAZING AND GIANT! We sat outside and watched footballs next to the heaters. They have fun alcoholic dessert drinks too! Plus they carry a lot of the Charlotte craft beer. It's a great place to bring the family or friends. read more

Blah - this place is just gross, which is unfortunate because the patio and outdoor area is SO nice. This is the reason we stopped in because sitting on the patio sounded so appealing. Our waitress was less than friendly, they didn't have the beer we wanted (listed on the menu but they were out. My water was YELLOW it looked like lemonade - their lines must not be cleaned. The Cajun fries were awful, so soggy and gross. They were drenched in cajun which is the only reason they were even half way edible. The pimento fritters were basically air filled balls deep fried in old oil. There was barely any cheese in them. So disappointed. We will not be returning. read more

I was quite happy to see a craft beer oriented place open up downtown Fort Mill. I have been there a couple of times and have had varying experiences. The food has been inconsistent at best; I have had burgers be cooked perfectly, burgers be way overcooked, and burgers be next to raw... hard to judge a place when they are all over the board. The service has not been much of an issue, while the servers have been slow, they have been quite friendly and apologetic for the kitchens mistakes. The beer menu is actually quite good, and represents a wide variety of styles. The beers seem to be served at a decent temperature and not in frozen glasses (one of my pet peeves). Overall, I think that once they iron out the inconsistencies in the kitchen and get the staff to pick up the pace a bit, this diamond in the rough could really shine... read more

We visit Hobo's frequently and it's yet to disappoint! Friendly staff, killer milkshakes and a dog friendly atmosphere is hard to find! We've tried a decent portion of the menu from burgers, salads to bbq and everything has always been cooked perfectly and well portioned. They have an excellent beer selection and make a great Grapefruit Mule - although they need new copper mugs! We've always opted to sit on the patio since it's lovely when the weather permits. Stopped here for a some food after visiting Amor Artist brewery with another couple and their kids. The place looks like a dive inside, very dirty looking and nothing fancy about it. The patio area is a vinyl enclosure that bar opens up to as well, and was the nicest part of the bar. Outside is a large deck with seating that steps down to a fenced in area that must be nice during the summer. We grabbed some very reasonably priced beers, ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries to go, and took our kids out to the fenced in area to run around in the mud! The beer selection is pretty good - not huge, but a great mix of mostly local beers. The chicken sandwich was flavorful and moist, nothing mind blowing, but definitely better than a lot of sandwiches I have had. The fries were pretty good, I let me wife eat most of them. Inside live music was getting ready to setup, so the nightlife must be fairly good - having kids doesn't allow one to see that - so we took a stroll through the nearby park so my son and I could sit on Canons while the wife shook her head at me! If I am back at Amor Artist this summer, we will definitely stop in to check out the outdoor area and I'll try a burger! read more
