Cute atmosphere, but the seating in the bar area was horribly uncomfortable (the waitress in that…read morearea commented that she knew the chairs were tortuous and understood why we moved to the dining room after a couple minutes). I ordered the four meat platter, and in hindsight wish that I had just ordered the brisket platter because the ribs and pulled pork were dry and bland (couldn't taste seasoning or a smoky flavor, and we can legit make better at home). The smoked sausage was nothing special. The only thing I enjoyed was the brisket as it was moist and tender, but again, it wasn't much for a BBQ/smokehouse flavor. As for the bottles of BBQ sauces at the table, they were all very mild; I get in WI restauranteurs tend to hold back on bold or stronger flavors due to the tame cooking of our ancestors, but why that's still the case when people are now well-traveled I will never understand. My husband had the poutine and was not a fan (I did not try it). Finally, the thin brown to-go boxes are useless. We sealed up my leftover meat and placed it in our cooler with other food items. Once home we discovered the material of the box had soaked through and released brown liquid over everything else. Yuck! Such a waste of time to have to wash the cooler and all it's contents because of mediocre BBQ stored in a chintzy box.

Unfortunately, under new ownership, this place has really gone downhill!…read more We went on a Friday night in July and the place was empty- this should have been our first clue. My husband and daughter ordered the Turkey sandwich- which used to be our absolute favorite sandwich. This time it was bone dry, lacked flavor, and was about half the size it used to be. It was a small pile of salty, dry meat on a roll. This sandwich used to be juicy, flavorful, and the portion was so generous that you could not eat the whole thing in one sitting. This time- it was so small, but nobody ate it all because it was so bad. I decided to try something different and ordered the Rueben. I asked the server (owner?) how it is and she said: "I don't eat Reuben, but people who do say it's the best they've ever had." So, I gave it a try. I can say with certainty that nobody has ever said that this sandwich was the best Reuben they've ever had. It was literally inedible. The meat had no flavor, and it was so fatty and rubbery that I literally could not even bite through it. When she came back to ask how it was, I politely told her that it was not good and she didn't apologize, take it away, or offer to take of off the bill. She told my husband to hurry up before I ate his sandwich instead and then walked away. So it sat untouched and we paid for it. I'm sorry now that we did. We should have insisted that she take it off the bill. Also, we ordered mozzarella sticks- they were not fried long enough and/or they were expired because they were mealy on the inside. Just nasty, honestly. And I know a lot of people don't care about this sort of thing, but I don't drink expired soda. I received a can of Diet Coke that was expired by five months. We left there disgusted and disappointed. This used to be one of our favorite places, but we will NOT be going back again.
