Living in this area the old quote, " It's not the heat, it's the humidity" is very true. Our dehumidifier stopped working and the house quickly became miserable. The A/C does a great job, but when the temperature outside is in the upper 90s and the relative humidity isn't far behind, then the house gets sticky quickly. We called Hoffmann Brothers and made an appointment with our favorite tech, Kevin G. He checked out the unit and knew exactly what it was and fixed it on the spot! This company was doing sewer work at my neighbor's property. They parked their truck directly in front of my driveway, leaving very little room for me to get out. When I asked them to move their truck, they refused and got very defensive. They also left their truck running from 6am to 6pm for no reason. Just full blown noise pollution and diesel fumes wafting into our house for 12 hours. Fun. I attempted to contact them to inquire about a job. My call was answered by an Ai voice assistant that could not answer my questions. I hung up on it, they ended up sending me a text a while later to reengage me, which I also ignored. Finally, they had an off call center call me back about 15 minutes later. The lady I talked to was pleasant, but knew nothing about the services your company offers and the only thing she could tell me was for $120 they'd have someone come out and take a look. Hoffmann Brothers is our go to service provider for heating, air conditioning repair, water heater upgrade, etc. The service and staff, the guys doing the work are well trained and courteous. They are very profession. Today we had a tube faucet replaced that had wore out. The part may have been about a hundred dollars. My wife insisted on a plumber replacing it--a relatively easy DIY job I thought, however she's paying for it and wanted a plumber, so be it. The 90 dollar service fee to come out, and parts and labor was well over 600 dollars. Over 600 hundred dollars! Let that sink in. I am disappointed they charged my wife over 650 dollars for a simple straight forward job, that took only a fee minutes. I find that very disappointing. More appropriate and fairer price would be about half that, or less. read more

We had two minor issues and Hoffmann's polite plumber took care of them both quickly, within two days of my call.

When I called to schedule the service, I specifically explained that the pool outlet needed to be replaced. During the appointment, the technician had to leave to pick up parts and was gone for over an hour. However, the actual repair took less than an hour to complete, and I do not believe the electrical box and parts used would reasonably account for a charge of approximately $300. Based on the time spent on the repair and the cost of the materials involved, I felt that I was overcharged and asked for a detailed invoice. I was told they do not provide detailed invoices, everything is done on a flat rate. The outlet and the cover at Home Depot are approximately $100. As a result of this experience, I have canceled my monthly plan with Hoffman Brothers. Unfortunately, I do not see the value of maintaining the plan when I could have hired another electrician to replace the outlet at a more reasonable price. read more

I called at 1:30 am. it really is 24 hours. our air was out and they gave us an estimated appointment for 4-8 pm today. not awesome, but understandable in the heat. this morning they texted and offered two slots, 8-noon or Noon to 4pm. they got us in 8-noon. Enrique was our tech. he was here before 10. had our air working again by noon. than goodness. he was professional, very nice, explained to my husband every step of the repair, and cleaned up after with no problems. i recommend the Home protection service highly. this is the third time we have used it, and they response time is quick, and prices fair. read more

They came out to fix our freezer 3 times. Still, the ice maker doesnt work, the temperature fluctuates in the freezer, and it leaks. We had to turn off the water supply to the fridge. This morning I got up and the freezer is making a horrible noise. read more

I would not recommend Hoffmann Brothers to anyone. For the past several summers, I have been living in what felt like a personal hell because of an air conditioning system Hoffmann Brothers installed. They replaced a 20-year-old AC unit, yet the new system could never cool a small 900-square-foot home below 78 degrees. The old system cooled the house just fine before it failed, but somehow the brand-new $12,000 replacement couldn't do the same. After the first summer, we called Hoffmann Brothers out to inspect the system. They sent technicians, managers, and specialists, but instead of finding and fixing the problem, every visit seemed focused on finding someone or something else to blame. The most common excuse was that the house lacked insulation. While insulation can certainly affect cooling performance, that explanation made little sense considering the previous 20-year-old system had no problem cooling the exact same house. The following summer, we called again. Once again, no solution. More excuses. More finger-pointing. Still no cold house. Eventually, my friend, who owns the home, moved out of state and rented the house to me. After suffering through another summer, I decided to call Beloman. My sister had recently purchased a system from them for a much larger home, and not only was it about $4,000 less expensive, but it worked flawlessly. Even when she had a minor issue, Beloman responded, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it within a day. When Beloman inspected my system, they quickly identified the problem and provided a written explanation of what needed to be corrected. To their credit, they never badmouthed Hoffmann Brothers. They simply told me that Hoffmann Brothers should be given the opportunity to correct their installation. So I called Hoffmann Brothers again. Rather than accepting responsibility, they refused to acknowledge that the installation could be at fault. Eventually, after a great deal of back-and-forth, they admitted they would perform the correction only if I paid them to do it. The issue? The system had never been properly charged with refrigerant during installation. Modern systems often require additional refrigerant beyond what comes pre-charged from the factory. Ironically, Hoffmann Brothers knew this well enough to write the required charge information inside the unit, yet apparently never completed that final step before leaving. To make matters worse, after becoming frustrated with their refusal to help, they contacted the homeowner and informed him they would no longer communicate with me directly, despite the fact that I was the person living in the house while the owner was five hours away in another state. This summer, I finally decided enough was enough. I called Beloman back out. Amazingly, they honored the same repair price they had quoted the previous year. Their technician completed the repair, and for the first time since the system was installed, the house is actually cool. I didn't add insulation. I didn't replace weatherstripping. I didn't make any improvements to the house whatsoever. The only thing that changed was having a reputable HVAC company fix what should have been done correctly from the beginning. If you're considering a new HVAC system, learn from my experience. Save yourself the time, money, frustration, and years of discomfort. Call Beloman first. As for Hoffmann Brothers, I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

A new HVAC system was installed less than 2 weeks ago and it has not cooled the house to 70 degrees or less. I've been told it's due to the heat, hot spots in the house and other factors. This was never an issue with my previous system. After paying over $15,000 and the house temperature still at 72+ I'm completely disappointed, disgusted and dissatisfied. read more

Unfortunately, this appointment was again canceled at the last minute, which caused unnecessary inconvenience after time had already been set aside. Communication has been poor, with little timely notice and a lack of reliable scheduling coordination. While I understand that unexpected issues can arise, this pattern of last-minute cancellations and weak communication raises concerns about reliability and professionalism. Based on this experience, I would not consider them dependable for scheduled service work. I do not recommend them at all. read more

Was ripped off by service tech Hank. Contacted Hoffman to replace a toilet which I purchased from Loew's and had it sitting 5ft from where it was to be replaced. Tech told daughter that he spoke with me regarding price which he did not. Was charged 699.00 for 1 hr work. A market comparison revealed Hoffman to be 2x the price. This is a rip off and Hoffman taking advantage of a Senior Citizen. This practice is stealing and should be investigated by our Attorney General. Stop taking advantage of Seniors. No effort has been made by Hoffman to adjust bill. BBB to weak. My rating is poor,poor. Stop stealing. Ron would not be proud. That's what I get for not going with a Union Plumbing Company. We had to have the Lateral line examined for damage, cracks, potential problems now and in the future. Zack was the technician that came out. He did an excellent job with the video of the lines and explaining everything he saw when he was pushing the camera through the drain lines. I felt like he was a Play by Play announcer and commentator during his presentation. He was excellent. He presented many different options, while breaking down proposed work into different quotes so that I could choose what I wanted done and what I might want combined if I didn't want to do everything at one time. He was on time, gave notice prior to arrival. Was extremely clean and took proper precautions before entering the house from working outside. I can't say enough about the quality of work we have received from Hoffmann Brothers on all of their services but Zack is truly one of the reasons we choose Hoffmann Brothers because of the quality of service technicians like Zack that represent the company. read more

We had several plumbing issues. Dan T. came out and was able to address all of them. He did a great job about cleaning up as he went along, listening to what we needed, and efficiently correcting all the issues. We no longer have a leak where the water enters our home, which is a huge plus, but he also updated our outside hose connection to a newer version than the 37 year old model to better protect us in the winter. And he even fixed the water flow to my refrigerator so I have strong pressure (finally!) for my ice and water through the door features.
