Haven't had a meal in Lincoln that made me want to lick my plate I quite some time. So glad we decided to stop in!

Very clean establishment. We had the owner/manager take our order and he was very friendly and thorough. I also saw him dating desserts in the middle of helping customers. It was very slow, but he kept busy, was always doing something. That and his thermometer clipped to his tucked in shirt showed me he cares. As for the food, I ordered the open face sandwich. It's two pieces of Texas toast with mash potatoes, brisket, and gravy. Oh my goodness it was delicious. Next time I plan on ordering something more bbq. read more

Pass on this one. Meats dry. Seasonings/sauces bland. Best thing? Side salad. What does that tell you about a BBQ place? The staff were friendly. otherwise, only 1 star. Hey I've been thinking about this and finally made my mind up. This place was not good at all, first the thing they tried to pass as potato skins were nothing but quartered potatoes with cheese melted cheese, very deceptive next just because the bones come out of the ribs doesn't make it a good rib, the brisket and the pulled pork were dry and flavorless they tasted like over baked meat, it was not a good for HOG WILD, all the good reviews might be right ,that means it is not a consistent place to take the family and I'm not willing to waste another hundred dollars on food that will not be eaten. read more

I've been there a couple times and was served food, though I admit I've never tried to eat there after they were already closed. If i could, I'd give this 3.5 stars instead of a flat 3. The place is clean with plenty of space to handle the number of people inside. My food came out quickly both times and the orders were correct. Overall, the food is decent, but not great. It's good for a quick bbq fix to satisfy a craving if you're in the area. Dickey's is close, but Hog Wild is a small step above them. The problem is, Phat Jack's isn't much further and is a much better option (if they're open). The ribs had decent flavor, though it was a bit muted without some of the sauce. There was some smokiness present, but only a hint. They weren't "falloff the bone tender," which was unfortunate. The pulled pork had slightly better flavor that was further improved by the sauce. The loaded baked potato I tried was just average. The cheese was bland and brought very little to the party, which was the same with the sour cream. Overall, the flavors ended up being muddled together, but as a whole, it was ok. It wouldn't be hard to make something better at home. I've tried the potato salad and baked beans for sides, and both were decent, though nothing special. The baked beans had a little more character than the potato salad. I prefer both to their cousins at Dickey's, but they're nowhere near what Phat Jack's offers. As with the baked potato, it's not hard to make better versions of either at home. So it's decent bbq on the go, but it's really nothing special. I prefer Hog Wild to Dickey's, but it falls far short of Phat Jack's. I think the high point is the convenience and speed if you're in the area, even during a busy time. I'll probably stick to the pulled pork in the future, unless I feel like trying some of the remaining options. read more

Its alright the food is hit and miss and employees don't treat guest like guest more like coustomers. Ribs were tight and not falling off bone. Cole slaw was runny and beans while good had looked like it sat awhile. read more

I first went to Hog Wild in Springfield and loved it, I Recently was at Hog Wild in Lincoln NE. Totally different story. I walked in not really busy at all. There was an older lady in line ordering her food. There was some confusion on what she was trying to order. The older lady was getting frustrated. However the cashier talking the order was absolutely rude to the customer. To the point the cashier asked the customer if she was going to stay or go. I was deeply offended myself by the rudeness of the staff. If they treated a customer like that way, they don't deserve my business. I would not go back there again. Walked out with out ordering. I ended up going to Parker's Smokehouse, I will give that place 5 stars. Hog wild. I think not. read more

The ribs were dry. The watermelon tea was not good. Clean and nice dining area. Beef brisket was okay and the hot links were ok. One thing that gave this place 3 stars is the Texas toast. The Texas toast was pretty good. read more

Food is usually really good here, but today was not a good experience. The potato salad and cole slaw were at least a day old and the ribs were greasy and the chicken was very dry. If this was my first visit here I would never go back. As it is I will go back for quite a while. Too many bbq places around to try eating here again. read more

Ribs are great if you like fat, and membrane harbly any meat and what little thete was had to be chewed off the bone the brisket so dry and old I think it wss heated over and over in a microwave and as far as service, I asked for the ribs to be cut in singles and i was told "we don't usually cut them but we will this time. And the girl with the puple and pig tails should not be anywhere near a customer ruddest person i have ever met. read more

Driving through Lincoln on our way out west and craved BBQ. Looked this restaurant up and did not expect it to have a drive- thru ... But also realized a lot of places around here have drive thrus. A serious bang for your buck. I got a lot of pulled pork, 2 slices of Texas toast, baked beans and Mac n cheese for approx $9. Left full and satisfied. BBQ with little imagination. I am pretty picky about my bbq and this place only barely meets my requirements. Has a fake liquid smoke flavor. Needs to be on for longer or cooked with more steam. The sauces leave something to be desired. Needs something to place it higher in the pack. I would only eat here again if I needed bbq in a hurry and all my other places were closed. read more

We have eaten at Lincoln Hog Wild on 3 separate occasions and enjoyed the food every time! I love the Carolina pulled pork sandwich best while my husband likes a 2 meat meal, brisket and pork are his favorites. It was busy each time we dinned in, but the service is quick and friendly, and although I know this is a new location, the place is clean! Enjoying the food and service as much as we did we spoke with the manager about catering our son's UNL graduation party at our home, and boy was that a great decision! Zach was attentive to all our requests and delivered to perfection! The value could not be beat! All of our out of town guests commented on how tasty the meat was (pork and brisket) as well as the sides and sauces!!! I think the spicy sauce could be a little spicier, but my husband would disagree. We were so glad we over-ordered on the meat, which made for very tasty left-overs!! I recommend both the dine-in and the catering for/from this Hog Wild location, even at the busy dinner hour! Love that we can get a good meal on the run and have it taste so good! read more

Well with all the anticipation for their opening in Lincoln and signs out along Cornhusker hy, I don't see them staying in business long. We agreed to meet friends there after the game to try it. They got in ahead of us and we weren't aware that they close at 8 (who on earth closes at 8) so they let us in and the lady cleaning a table said have to ask some guys name. We stood at the counter while a young man was scoping out coleslaw. We were there only 15 minutes after closing. Someone must of got the owner or manager and he said he was sorry but they close at 8 and always have. Our friend who had their food tried explains that we were with them but he said the line is already down. So we understand from one stand point but as we all agreed this was their 2nd day of business and after a game day? And they're turning down business? That we are willing to pay? It just shows they don't care. If we owned it they could of nicely still said they're shut down but they'd be willing to make us a plate of what they had left. If it was meat or ribs, the kid had all the sides right there. Our friend even told the guy that's not good business your turning away business. The guy didn't seem to care, just shrugged his shoulders. So Lincoln does need BBQ but if there's not caring about the customers and on the 2 day? It won't last. Our friends review of food was that the fries way to salty. The coleslaw and potato salad out of a tub and no smell of BBQ. Was meat just warmed up? Any BBQ whether big or small smells of wood. They didn't like the beans and took one bite of peach cobbler and pushed it away saying horrible and had a bitter bite to it. Sad when we need more restaurants. read more
