I brought my car in for oil change, tire rotation, and tire pressure monitor replacement; then my wife's car for rotation. I marked the tires beforehand, so when I picked up my car, it was apparent that the tires were never rotated although it was on the invoice. I brought this to their attention, and they immediately took the vehicle back in to perform the rotation. When I got home, I realized that only the driver's side tires were swapped front to back. The passenger tires were not touched. On my wife's car, the tires were indeed rotated, but greasy fingerprints were left on the armrest. I have purchased two sets of tires from Hogan and have been satisfied with their service until now. I don't know if the technician is to blame for this shoddy service or it is a systemic problem with Hogan. read more

A BIG Shout-out to the lads at Hogan Tire in Medway, MA! It looked like I had a nail in my right rear tire on my 2018 Z06 Corvette (Although my pressure was holding steady) so I called them this morning (They did the tires on my 2014 Stingray with NO issues) and I was told they have a tech that specalizes in high-end cars, and he had some time today, to bring it right down. They were going to take the tire off the rim and try to plug it, if they could. They called me about 30 minutes later to say that there was no issue with the tire, they had put it under water with no bubbles, and couldn't find any issue, and that I could come pick it up. I asked what I owed they for their time and trouble and they said nothing! NO CHARGE!! So when I eventually need tires, you can guess who will be getting my business! I called to ask if they could fix or replace a flat tire on my Subaru. I was told that they'd have to inspect all of the tires, and change them all if they felt that was needed. If I didn't want to have all 4 tires changed, then they wouldn't even change the flat one! They said they'd just give it back to me with the donut on it. I was told this was "company policy." The next closest tire place changed out the tire without a problem, and they will have my business going forward. read more

It started out good - I called around for a set of 4 replacement tires for my car - Hogan was competitively priced and could get me on their schedule on my desired day a few days later. I said I would be waiting for my car (vs drop off) when I made the appointment and checked to see if there is a waiting room (there is). I arrived on time for my 9 an appointment today, restated that I would wait for my car and was told it would be a couple hours. Ok cool. Went next door for a coffee. Got a call 90 minutes later that there were a couple things they discovered on my car that needed discussion - I walked back over and was taken to the garage bay and was told I needed new brakes - the representative attempted to show me where things are worn down or not making contact and an online inspection report that was provided said that front & rear brakes needed urgent repair/replacement. I was puzzled by this as I just had work done at my dealership very recently, including tire rotation, and the dealership said my brakes were fine but I needed new tires. I asked for a price from the Hogan rep and was told $1400. I declined since I'll definitely take it back to the dealership to find out why the discrepancy exists. The rep tells me that they just needed to wrap everything up and I would be on my way. An hour goes by (we are now at 2.5 hours). Another half hour goes by and I went to the desk to find out how much longer. I was told they were just finishing up and would be next out of the bay. I asked how much longer.... Reply was another 30 minutes. 35 minutes goes by and we are now at 3.5 hours and never once did any staff member proactively inform me of the delay or thank me for my patience. I'm finally called to the cashier at 12:37 to pay. I paid the pre-appointment quoted amount and I said thank you as he handed me my receipt. He said you're welcome and that was it. Never even thanked me. So, for $1,000, an attempted questionable upsell of $1,400, a 3.5 hour wait that was supposed to be 2 hours, and not a single thank you, I will not be returning to this business. My husband is in the market for 4 new tires for his Ram 1500 and was hoping I had a good experience at Hogan, but obviously not so we will take that business elsewhere. I could have looked past a couple things that irritated me if there had been any courtesy or even a simple thank you. read more

I had my '07 Lexus GS at the Medway store for an alignment about 7 months ago. When I was replacing the front calipers about a month ago, I noticed irregular wear on the front tires. These tires had less than 10K miles on them. I purchased replacement tires elsewhere and scheduled their installation at this store during Christmas week. When I dropped the car off, I made the store clerk aware that I had a relatively recent alignment at their store and suffered uneven tire wear on the existing front tires. I did not ask for an alignment. I was stunned when I received the bill for the services. I'll take the hit for not checking the cost of mounting and balancing before scheduling the service. ($176 for 4 passenger rated all season tires is off-the-hook.) However, the reason I brought the car back to their store was because an alignment had been performed by them so recently. When there was also a $100 charge for an alignment, I felt obligated to poorly rate the company. The alignment document indicated the front end was toed-in almost identically on the left and right side (.19° on the left side and .20° on the right side.) A day later I had a back-and-forth e-mail communication with Jacques, the store manager, and received no satisfaction whatsoever. Decide for yourself but I won't go back. read more

The worst auto repair experience I ever had. They missed that my transmission fluid needed to be changed in normal maintenance check-ups although they checked the box that the transmission fluid was fine. I ended up replacing the entire transmission for a cost of $5,500 with a transmission specialist. This was preventable had they had caught I need to replace my transmission fluid every 60K miles. I will never use them again for any auto repairs or recommend them. read more

Stopped in as car battery kept going dead. I wanted a certain top of the line Interstate battery. They did not have this particular battery in stock but had another best Interstate battery which I had them install. I was in and out within and hour and the price was reasonable. Horrible place... Took my Tesla to get new tires and they absolutely damaged all the wheels. To make matters worse they had all the wheels covered with some white glue to hide the marks on the wheels. They told me they did not have enough time to clean it and I should take it to a car wash. Once I washed the car and wheels I discovered the damage ! read more

For what it's worth, they had my tires in stock while other shops had weeks of lead time, and their price was competitive. So I did essentially get what I wanted. The issue I had was general sloppiness in service. On the night drop envelope I indicated I would be taking the old tires with me and I asked that the valve stem caps from the old tires be moved to the new tires. Simple. At pickup, the old tires were nowhere to be seen. And when I asked, the guy said he didn't even look at the instructions. But I got them. Then as those were loading I noticed my valve stem caps were gone. That set off a 15 min fruitless wait. The garage guys had no idea, but they found 3 out of 4. Then I noticed I was charged a different price than quoted. After asking about that I did get the difference refunded. Then after I got home I noticed my wheels were scratched in places that weren't caused by me. Having several sloppy service examples was a poor showing in my opinion. They were nice and seemed sincere but pretty unprofessional when it came to attention to (simple) detail. It's very unlikely I'll be a repeat customer. read more

I got bought new tires and had them installed the same day I left for Florid. 1/2 down I had 3 lug nuts and bolts completely snap my tire almost fell off on the highway. had to pay for a hotel and stop travels when the repair shop put the car on the lift the tire literally just fell without them even touching it. I talked directly to the owner who was saying it wasn't hogan tires fault and he had a video of the employ we putting the tire on properly but could not share or show me the video.... I get down to Florida and the same thing happened to my 2 front tires causing $1,500 in damage my brakes and rotors had 5,000 miles on them had to get new ones with hubs. putting the tires on also cost me $1200. from them doing a poor job and not sticking behind their work I just had to replace my tires a little over a year later with 1/2 the mileage they were good for. I went to Pete's Tire Barn in Gardner MA had the same exact tires put on and it was $400 cheaper. So $800 and employees that actually know what they are doing. Owner doesbt stick behind his own shops work... I have not been repaid a penny in what they cost me never go here read more

I am writing to share my frustration with what has been a year long issue after I brought my 2017 Buick Encore into my local Medway Hogan after my engine light went on last November. Following a labor diagnostic, Staff acknowledged it was an emissions issue and that I needed to replace my catalytic converter and oxygen sensor. After paying $1600+, the engine light went on again. I brought it back in January and staff stated overlooking the replacement of additional oxygen sensors and I paid nearly another $500 for repairs. After a short period of time, my light went off again and again I returned to Hogan after conferring with a friend who works at another auto shop. He suggested that the issue was the replacement catalytic converter, which I shared with Hogan staff. The assistant manager suggested "trial and error" to pinpoint the issue but that the catalytic converter wasn't the problem. Due to the ongoing expense I already incurred, I elected to seek further opinions. I've since had a third shop conduct a separate diagnosis and they've identified the symptoms: low efficiency from the catalyst system and the need for a front catalytic converter, front and rear O2 sensors and a front exhaust flex pipe assembly. For the second time in a year, I'll have to pay $2K+ to address the same issue that I hoped would have been taken care of last November. To prevent this from happening to future Hogan customers, I strongly encourage Hogan only use catalytic converters from the original manufacturer (eg Buick) rather than aftermarkets. Otherwise, you're going to lose more customers like me. read more

Awesome experience I had an issue with a metal on metal brake sound coming from the front of the Vehicle , hogan removed my brake metal guard and cleaned it up and explained and showed me the problem - really liked the mechanic super nice guy and they spent at least 30-40 min and said no charge , I was shocked in a nice way /.. made my day , great people and will be back for tires read more

My family and I have been going to Long Distance Tire since I can remember. My dad is pretty meticulous when it comes to his trucks so he makes sure that he gets the recommended oil change whenever the sticker that they put on your car advises it. Sean and Kevin do a wonderful job of having their employees get cars in and out with efficiency. I recently had car troubles while in California and called Sean just to talk it over with him and he was patient enough to run through everything that might be wrong and explain why prices would be the way they were. It's always good to find a mechanic you feel comfortable with and to feel good about getting your car fixed. We'll probably go here until we can't any longer. read more

I went to Shawn and Long Distance Tire a couple of years ago for a very difficult alignment problem on my Camry. They were true professionals and bent over backwards to resolve the issue, to the point of getting Toyota service on the phone. Fast forward to recently and due to an accident the car had to be realigned with new tires. The tire dealer (not purchased at LDT) sold me a faulty tire. LDT put the car through rigorous work to get things straightened (pun intended!) out. Once again they went to the moon and back to send me away a happy customer. Eager to help and provide advice even if that advice is to take your money elsewhere because you could get a cheaper spare tire or whatever it is you're looking for. That is exceedingly rare these days. Also a great place for anyone looking to track down a massive tire for cross-fit, or tire-flipping workouts. They've usually got a handful of GIANT tires around 300lbs that are perfect for that sort of stuff. read more

I have purchased a few tires from this Company in the past and I have always been extremely happy. I do not usually write reviews on here, but I couldn't believe how helpful Sean and the Company have been during my recent car troubles. I went to Sean because the city of Boston moved my car from one spot to another (moved! not towed! really dragged!) and left it with a flat tire. After putting the spare on, and being in this area (where I grew up) for the week I decided to bring it to LDT because of how great they have been in the past. Turns out it was not just a simple change of a flat, and there is pretty significant damage to my car. Sean has been unbelievably helpful during this stressful process. He took the time to understand the facts and circumstances of what happened and once they had looked at the car, he gave me a very detailed and thorough explanation of the damage. This was extremely helpful in filing my claim and will be essential to me trying to recover some damages from the city. He has allowed me to keep the car there while it is appraised. Unfortunately, I have to wait until I hear back from my insurance company to start performing repairs and I have to head back to the city before they can be done. However, I have made extra arrangements so that I can leave my car in Medway and have Sean and LTD make the repairs once I get the green light from the insurance company. I couldn't imagine going to another tire dealer or mechanic after this experience with LTD. read more

Thank you Bill for your response to my review. All I can say is that, as a business man I have spent / wasted more money in my time than $35.00 and I'm sure you have as well. However, if a person knows and/or feels that they have not received good service from a business, you go with your gut and not put yourself in a position for the same to repeat. That's what I did. Had it been $3,500.00, I would have requested to speak / meet you directly. I also have video footage that runs 24/7 in the truck whether the truck is running or not (You can't miss it. And this can be confirm by several techs). Your manager never suggested giving him the opportunity at anytime to review video and get back to me, rather said nothing. I also have photos of the tire off the truck and the truck on jacks in my garage. The tires on my truck are lettered, the tires on my wife's Mercedes are smaller in size, not lettered and different brand. Now you can confirm this by looking in your record / system and you will notice the tires from the Mercedes were purchased at Hogan Tires (Inv# MED 0055331) for $1,040.75. You see sir, had I received the same treatment, professionalism, honesty, etc, that I was afforded on prior dates I have done business with Hogan Tire, we would not be communicating as such. $35.00 is a lot to most people these days. I don't agree with anyone, any business entity, that would ever take advantage of a consumer in anyway. I've been in direct customer service for many years. Long distance tire USED TO BE the best place around, would honor their parts and work, but now that hogan tire bought them it's a train wreck. Bought an apparently defective tire from long distance mid August and got in my car the other day to a low tire light, thought it might just be the cold so I shrugged it off, 2 hrs later it was dead flat, brought it into hogan since they took over long distance, and they filled it up and found a pinhole on the inner sidewalk of the tire, the employee then proceeded to tell me there's nothing that can be done since I hit something and that I had to buy a new tire and pay for installation, explained to him several times that I didn't hit anything and they still said there's nothing that they would do and that I had to buy another tire. My tire was going flat and I was looking to patch it. Spoke to a man on the phone who was very nice and would fit me in. My tire wasn't able to be fixed and I needed a new one- when I came back to check out the young girl with dark hair at the desk was beyond rude to me. I told her I couldn't afford the $185 tire and I was just going to take it. She was personally offended by this and yelled for them to just take it down and put the tire back on and then when another man came up to me to explain why the tire wasn't able to be fixed she was mumbling under her breath infront of me so I could hear that "she doesn't care so just stop". After I told her I couldn't afford $185 tire and she really didn't acknowledge that. When she walked out of the building I told the other man standing there behind the counter- jokingly- she was personally offended I didn't buy a tire from you guys and wasn't nice. His response was "millennials" I said no it's actually customer service and she shouldn't be working with people if she's going to be rude. She was very nice to the men in the shop- apparently she isn't a fan of women. Sorry- not getting my business after that. She also never even explained what was wrong with the tire- I asked her and she was annoyed. read more

They installed new tires for me several months back and my purchase included free tire rotations and wheel balances for the life of the tires. Very nice perk, as it's rare I leave an auto repair shop without paying something out of pocket. I just had my first appointment for the included tire rotations and wheel balances and it was a great experience. I wondered what to expect, since they had already taken my money months ago and I knew they weren't likely to get any additional revenue from me this time around (unless they discovered a new problem, which I was also wondering if that would happen). But the experience was quick and easy and comfortable and I'm so happy with it. I dropped off my car around 9:30 am and was told my car was ready before 10:30 am. That was refreshing, because my expectation was that since I likely wasn't going to pay them anything additional today I might be put at the bottom of the priority list. I took advantage of their nice waiting area, which includes a desk at which I was able to set up my laptop and work. A couple other things about the waiting area, which I didn't take advantage of but which I thought were unique to this shop: - A window through which you can see all vehicles being worked on. I think this is cool because it speaks to the accountability of the team. They're unafraid to let their customers see what's going on. It's nice to know I can peek through the window, to see if my vehicle is actually being worked on, instead of wondering or feeling like I have to be a pain in the neck and go ask. - A large and very comfortable looking leather / vinyl (not sure which) couch. They have standard-looking waiting room chairs but it's nice to know I can plop down in a comfortable piece of furniture if I'll be there for an extended period of time. And I was happy to learn the complimentary tire rotations and wheel balances include yet another complimentary service, which is inviting me back after at least 100 additional miles of driving, for tightening the lug nuts. This business truly knows how to take care of their customers. Very well done. read more

My car feels like it is wearing new sneakers! 70,000 miles on the Original tires that wouldn't pass inspection. The new tires grab the road! They steer like a professional chauffeur is driving. They are cushioned and make the 4-year old car perform like a new pup. Shawn recommended a better grade of tire than came on my car and with the sale price they cost less than a lower grade. I usually have my car serviced at the dealership, but I thought I'd try a local service center this time. I went in to make my appointment last week, brought the manufacturer's service checklist for my car, and made sure they would be able to perform the service as required by the manufacturer. I was assured they would be able to do the service as required for my car. Today, I went for the service. When it was done, the bill seemed very low, but I thought, that was because it wasn't the dealership. Then I looked at the sticker they put in the car to tell me when to come back for the next service. It said I should come back in three months. My car requires synthetic oil, and I know you don't have to replace synthetic oil for 7 months. I went back to the service desk, and asked if they put in synthetic oil. The woman behind the counter said that "It wasn't requested," and, "that's not what they used last time". I informed her that I had never had my car serviced here before. I said that synthetic oil was the requirement of the manufacturer. A man at the counter said, "We put in a synthetic blend." When I reiterated that the manufacturer requires synthetic oil, he said, "We can put in some synthetic." I told him I wanted the oil that they put in drained, and replaced with synthetic oil. I watched from a window in the outer office to make sure they drained the oil rather than just add a little more. However, when they added the new oil, they poured it from a generic plastic spouted container. There was no label on the container, and therefore, no way for me to tell what kind of oil they used. I was also told they replaced a defective rear signal lightbulb, ($10.00). However, when I asked to see the 16 point checklist which came complimentary with the oil change, the "lights" category was marked as "OK". It did not say I had a defective light. I am going back to the dealership for my next service. read more

The morning of Patriots Day my Volvo started making sounds similar to screeches made with worn out brakes. But surprising the noise only happened when I turned the steering wheel to the left or right. Not knowing how safe it would be to continue driving the car, I cautiously drove a couple of miles to the nearest garage who immediately told me that I needed new brakes just by hearing me drive in. But they had previous appointments booked and instructed me to return later in the day. I asked if I could safely drive the car and they said they would have to put it up on the lift before answering. I drive to a second garage who was closed and final to a third shop who told me to come back in four hours. As a last grasp, I decided to drive very slowly to Long Distance Tire in Medway. The screeching sound got progressively louder with every turn causing more then one on looker to stare at me. I pulled into LDT, walked inside and immediately explained the reason for the unexpected visit. Understanding that they probably had a full schedule, I asked if I could wait for as long as it took until a mechanic could look at the car. The woman at the counter smiled and said that she would have someone look at it right away and invited me to have a seat in the waiting room and to avail myself to s complementary cup of coffee. Before I could get 1/2 way through my coffee, the woman from the front counter came smiling walking down the corridor. Her first words were that she had very good news for me. Despite my worse nightmares of needing an expensive repair such as ball joints, new brakes or any number of other possibilities, she handed me a tiny 1/8" black pebble that had been lodged inside my brake drums causing the screeching noises every time I turned. When I asked how was it possible for anyone to find this, she explained that the crew really know what to look for. At this point, I was ecstatic to have saved hundreds of dollars in possible repairs. I followed her back to the counter and spoke with the mechanic who diagnosed and uncovered this pebble. As I went to pay for their time, I was told that there would be no charge since it didn't take that long to find. I couldn't help but think to myself as to where else would I ever get this type of last minute attention, satisfaction or consideration all at the same time and my answer was "nowhere."I can't thank LDT and their entire staff enough for the best experience and outcome that anyone could have imagined.
