    The menu

    We wanted some bbq so we decided to give this place another try. I was surprised to see that they have more things on their menu. Although the menu on the wall was still the same, they had NEW laminated menus. They now have 3 and 4 meat plate options. So we went with two 3 meat plates. I did tri tip, pulled pork and ribs. My sides were greens and Mac n cheese. My bf did tri tip, pulled pork and rib tips. His sides was greens, Mac and cheese and then he added potato salad. Also cornbread cus it doesn't come with the plates. And for dessert he got peach cobbler. Each plate came with two bbq sauces. The sauces was okay. But tasted very cumin-y. I didn't mind it but my bf was good on it. I had the tri tip and ribs before and I thought they tasted koo. The pulled pork however was too salty. The Mac n cheese I had last time was good and cheesy. This time I had a brick of Mac n cheese. Wasn't cheesy at all. It all just stuck together. You can see the difference in the pics from how I had it before to what I got in my recent visit. Greens was still good. Potato salad also tasted different. The first time i had it, it was good. This time it was too sour. Tasted like too much relish or pickle juice.. or maybe even mustard. Peach cobbler wasn't the best. My bf did not like it at all.. I do appreciate how much meat we got compared to last time. It seemed like more. Service was just okay. Nothing special. The old man in there that was choppin it up with me was nice tho. I think he could've been kin to the people that works there. He said he was from Arkansas?? Or somewhere in the south. Had an accent and all. As for ambiance, it was the same as when I last came. Music playing & the tv on. I would still come back if craving bbq that serves a side of greens, but this probably won't be my first choice..

    I'm rounding up from 3.5 rating. We stopped by here around 2:30 on Saturday. At first just my husband was going to get something but I saw the sign specials outside and immediately wanted the fried cabbage. We walked in to a clean establishment with about six tables, homey decor. While we were looking over the menu, a man came out to ask how we were doing. He looked like he had command of a smoker and grill :) My husband went with the three meat combo with ribs, tri tip and links with sides of Mac n cheese and baked beans. The fried cabbage wasn't ready yet so I went with the day's special shrimp and crab egg rolls and friend mushrooms. We took everything to go. Also got some peach cobbler, they were out of banana pudding I loved my egg rolls! They had a smoke flavor (I don't usually like liquid smoke but this was applied with an expert hand) and the veggies were plenty and not overcooked/mushy. Would definitely order again. The mushrooms were good but not spectacular. What made them good were the spice/smoke, again not overly applied. I didn't taste the links but tried the ribs and they were excellent. Again, nice smoke flavor and tender. The tri tip was just ok. My daughter loved the baked beans. They were good. The Mac and cheese was a no, though - maybe someone just put a tad too much of that liquid smoke Overall, we will be back because those specials must be had. I should have asked when the specials are ready because I would have thought 2:30 in a Saturday would be late enough for the "weekend specials " to be ready {shrug}

    Fried mushroom. little serving for the price. They're small.

    Came across Hogg Pitt while running errands. I stopped by for lunch. The food itself is good! I enjoyed the tri tip, it was not too salty or fatty. Good sauces and fried mushrooms were tasty but for the prices I got very little. I just feel it's overpriced for what you get. They're sandwiches more like half a sandwich with little protein. The place is clean and nice. The service is average. Not great but not horrible. Overall, I am not sure if I will come back because I can get similar somewhere else with better serving size. The food is tasty so I won't tell anyone not to go try it.

    I ate it all!!!

    It's my first time being a customer. I had just gotten my car washed at Surf Thru and was about to go another restaurant for food. I saw Hogg Pitt and almost drove past and made a split second decision to turn into the driveway. I parked and looked at the menu online and figured I'd try the 3 meat 2 sides plate. The guy working the front was very cordial (I am gonna assume he was the owner - he had that assertive yet customer oriented vibe to him). I ordered and he said give it a few minutes and it would be ready. I thought maybe 15 mins or so, but it was ready in less than 10. I was sitting in my car and he actually brought it out to me. Man, customer service and quick too. I get home and eat it, wow! Seasoned BBQ!!! I just moved here but this is my BBQ spot from here in out. I had the BBQ ribs, rib tips and tri tip with potato salad and mcmac n cheese. Also had peach cobbler. Cobbler was perfect. Worth every penny and some #chefskiss

    Got food to go and it was quick and delicious. Ribs were ok, not fall apart tender today but the smoked Mac and cheese was fantastic, would eat a whole tray of that

    9/10/25 Been a while and on a BBQ kick! Ordered on DoorDash a BBQ chicken meal with baked beans & Mac n cheese. Paid for it there and went to pick it up! Arrived! Really GREAT! Greeted by worker, order ready and handed over with good day wishes! GREAT! Clean and safe inside. Lots of seating, music playing and multiple TVs up. Lunchtime! BBQ chicken was seasoned, tender & had great flavor. Baked beans were tasty, Mac N Cheese was Flavorful! It's a lot! 1/2 was plenty! Great service & GREAT lunch! Highly recommended!

    You see... what happened was... I stopped in here randomly on my way home from work to pick up some ribs for my husband. Sounded like a nice Friday treat. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was simple and clean. I ordered just 1 serving of ribs (they gave me 2 even though I think it was supposed to be 3?). Anyhow, when my husband tried them he ended up loving them so much that he insisted we get more! So we went back that same night for a WHOLE RACK and some sides. The ribs were next level! Flavorful, tender, and not dry at all. Don't worry, we didn't eat the whole rack in one sitting - we will get to enjoy the leftovers! We will definitely be back and look forward to trying other items!

    I had gone to the farmers market in old town Clovis on Friday and wanted some good bbq. I tried the Hogg Pitt. It's a small locally owned family business that's only been going for 3 months. While I ate there the last hour of business for the day, everyone that came in knew the owner. It's small and for now they use to go containers and packaged plastic utensils, nothing fancy. I had the 2 meat and 2 sides combo. I ordered the tri tip and ribs with corn bread and Mac n cheese. The meat was excellent and the Mac n cheese was outstanding, the best I've ever had! It was all served quickly and absolutely delicious! I also ordered the German chocolate cake! It was 10 out of 10! They also offer daily specials with off the menu items. They also serve fish as well. Give them a try, eat in or to go, you won't be disappointed! Great food and great people!

    Place always great to visit for lunch or dinner. Food always comes out amazing and I got the loaded fries and they aren't messing around when they say it's loaded. It has pork beans, Mac and cheese, tri tip, hot link, and of course the fries. Service is fast and friendly and most days the owner is here and always welcoming and checking on everyone and their meals. Can't say enough positive things about this little gem.

    Decided to give this place one more try 6/20/25 ordered on door dash because you get an 11$ off promotion during happy hour and the price still came out to 31$ just to a two piece combo. That's very high. Now the food is full of flavor, but the portion size they give you is from the kids menu. This will probably be my last time here unless those portion sizes get better or the prices become more realistic

    Hooray! A new BBQ place nearby. In the old Fresno Sandwich Shop location. The menu looks good. Decent prices! Super nice owner. We were in the shopping center for Mexican food this evening, but I can't wait to stop back by for BBQ. Clean , updated restaurant. Update: Still craving some good BBQ ribs. We decided to get dinner to go. I ordered the one meat/two sides plate. Three ribs, potato salad and fries. The hubby ordered three ribs with potato salad and cornbread. OK, here's the lowdown...the ribs were A-MAZ-ING!!!!! They were meaty and tender. The sauce they were slathered in was so good! These are definitely not your run of the mill chain BBQ ribs. I seriously can't rave about these ribs enough! You've just got to get in there and try them for yourself! Warning! You'll need lots of napkins when you partake in them. The potato salad was a big serving. Very creamy. The French Fries there are regular French Fries. That's a good thing! Straight cut. Non of that batter or season salt crap. Perfectly cooked and very tasty. The hubby loved the ribs, too. He was very pleased with the sauce. Which they didn't skimp on, by the way. He wasn't a fan of the potato salad, due to the pickles in them. He said the cornbread was really good. We are definitely a fan of Hogg Pitt and will be going back soon! They are closed on Mondays, so know that when you're planning your visit. Check out my pics for the current menu and pricing and get on in there for some awesome BBQ!

    Today is my last day living in Fresno and as luck would have it I found Hogg Pitt. This sucks because it's such a delicious place and I won't get to enjoy it anymore. Anyhow, make sure to go visit them. The food is excellent and it will fill your tummy.

    We ordered Hogg Pit for catering our wedding welcome dinner! Herman is great. He will accommodate pricing towards your budget. Everyone loved the food. The biggest hit was the smothered oxtail with rice. That was the fast mover. The sides were great. We ordered macaroni salad, and potato salad. If we were ever in Central Valley again and need to order catering, we would definitely order through Hogg Pitt.

Dog House Grill has the BEST tri-tip sandwiches ever! Trust me, I have tried others and nothing compares. Upon arrival, parking is always full. If you have some time to wait, it will start to clear slowly. Entrance always has a long line to order food. Another way to order is inside where you find a table by the bar area and be served by a waiter/waitress. The ambiance is sports related so you'll see big screen TVs everywhere with all kind of sports playing and sports decor on the walls. Seating can be a bit of a wait since it's always busy so you kinda have to stand around and wait for tables to clear out or you might even get lucky and find one right away. Ordering is easy, big screens for menus upon entering and cashiers waiting to take your order. Once you order your food, it's a bit of a wait until they call your number. Our order today was 2 tri tip sandwiches and a side of fries. Totaling out $40. - Tri-tip sandwiches are $17 each. Worth it every single time. 1000/10 - Side of fries is actually a pretty large order. Seasoned a bit and for the size and taste 8/10 All in all, a great place to eat. I crave this often and it's located near the Savemart Center/Fresno State area which you can't miss. You can even smell it from a close distance. But in all seriousness, go try it. Spicy cabbage - it was not spicy it was sweet and gooey and it was not good 6. Cornbread - a bit burnt for our liking 7. Lemon pudding cake - this was decent but also overly sweet. We paid 6 dollars for koolaid as well which is very high but it was good. Our entire bill was 46 and I feel like for what we got it wasn't a good deal. The restrooms were disgusting.
