It's not my favorite burger on the menu, but it's still very good. I'd give it an **8/10**. The **Monster Burger** is where it's at, though! This is easily a **9/10** and one of those burgers you really can't go wrong with. The portion size, quality, and price are all excellent, and I especially love that it comes with two different types of cheese. Definitely one of the best options here. We also ordered the **Southwestern Salad**, which was really good. I would recommend asking for extra dressing because it could definitely use a little more. Overall, I'd give the salad an **8/10**. The **fries are always a 10/10**. The side portion is huge and easily enough to share, which makes it an even better value. The drinks are good as well. The **service is always top-notch**. They treat you like family, and the food comes out quickly. I also like that the restaurant has both a traditional service side, where tipping is optional, and a self-service side where you find your own table and pick up your food, so tipping isn't necessary. The **ambiance is one of the best things about this place**. If you're a sports fan, you'll love it. There's tons of sports memorabilia throughout the restaurant and plenty of TVs showing different games. It's a great place to hang out, grab some food, and watch sports. Being right across the street from Fresno State is also a huge plus. The only real downside is the **parking**. They definitely need to find a way to increase the amount of parking because it can be difficult to find a spot. Stayed in Fresno for a couple of days for work. After an hour of cooling of in the hotel (it was 103 degrees) my coworker and I met up with a team mate who suggested Dog House Grill. He lives in Fresno and knows where all the good spot to eat were. DHG is my kind of bar & grill. It's lively, with good food, lots of beer options, big screen TVs playing sport and filled with locals. I went with the ABC burger, which was fantastic. My team mate mentioned that was his go-to burger. As a matter of fact all three of us ordered the same burger. We also ordered french fries, onion rings and yeah, multiple pints of beer. Last night we came for tri-tip and left with dogfood. Been going here for 15 or 20 years now? All great. The one time we have clearly overcooked meat that tastes like horse the manager completely dismissed my 72-yo mother in a very rude way. I guess selling "1000s of sandwiches today with zero complaints" is good enough to completely dismiss us. What likely happened was they saved the overcooked meat till the end of the day (we went 20 minutes before closing) and we were the schmucks that got it. What really pissed me off though is that the manager had veins popping out of his neck. The way he was talking to my elderly mother was inappropriate. Thankfully he cooled down when I walked up to the conversation. All she wanted was to replace our 4 tritip sandwiches with another. I cannot comment on the ambience, staff, or parking situation as this was provided for a work luncheon. Pricing is fair, considering the generous portions. A small salad is still very large. The chicken has a very smoky flavor to it and not dry. This is a bustling bar and grill right by Fresno State University. There is a walk up counter to order and then self seating, or there is a bar area that has waited service. We went on Saturday at about 12:45pm and the line was out the door, but we only had to wait a few minutes for a table in the bar. Service was very quick and efficient, but they drop the check off early to move tables as fast as they can. I had The Pig, which is their pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious and packed with meat. It came with a coleslaw and BBQ sauce, so it was messy but tasty. The coleslaw was sweet though and with the BBQ sauce it was all really sweet. I would have preferred for the coleslaw to be more tangy or to have another component on the sandwich with some acidity to cut the sweetness a bit. I added pickles to the sandwich which helped with this a bit. We also shared the half order of onion rings, which were classic crispy onion rings. Service was always really helpful and answered any questions we had. Over the years, we've tried the fries, onion rings, the Craiger, the veggie avocado, and of course the tritip. Each of these have been solid. The veggie avocado had a bunch of sprouts in it which was great. Made for a nice bite. We had gotten the craiger and tritip multiple times for hikes to bring with us between Sequoia and Yosemite. Daypack adventure with a few extra containers of the bbq sauce and a couple sandwiches. The ordering system is a little confusing , you can pay at the front or take a seat at the bar tables and get waitress service from there . We just paid at the front and found a spot to sit at . We got a tri tip sandwich , fries , and a calamari . The tri tip sandwiches are huge and pack full of meat , it is a great price for $15. The calamari was I believe around $10 and super crispy light and fresh . Since the reviews are great I had to try it. And I have to say, the reviews are 5 stars. Really accurate. Parking is hell, service is excellent, and the fries are delicious. It's true, with the mixed reviews say. The tri-tip is dry, but they gave me extra sauce to make up for it. The sauce is crazy thick and sweet. I was happy with the buttery roll. I could do better with the tritip, but I couldn't beat the roll. The fries were deliciously over salted with a season salt that reminds me of something specific that I can't put my finger on. I'm glad there was plenty to bring home for later. Its ambiance is dark and industrial, the black and red tones seem a little overly apocalyptic. The sound level is amplified by all the glass and concrete making it impossible to hold a conversation with out shouting at each other.
