plenty to take home. fries and tri tip sandwiches
Theresa D.

we love the tri-tip sandwiches from dog house. It's a very popular because it's amazing portion sizes good pricing and friendly employees. They have TVs all around and it gets a little loud but you you enjoy the ambience. They have a great soda selection, especially if you like cherry Pepsi or other flavors.

I'm surprised I've never reviewed dog house, but I guess it's time. Been coming here since they've opened, they never disappoint. Everything is always fresh, fast, and delicious. The service is good, the staff is nice, quick and ready to serve you. Wet lime sitting at the bar area so we can get service and drinks from the bar. They do have another side where you can get your own food order and drinks. Dog house is huge inside, with plenty of seating when it's not the weekend or an event. They also have outside tables as well. They have happy hour from 3-6pm bar area only.

The best, I mean the best Tri Tip sandwich I have ever had. Want to go back and try other things but don't know if I will be able to order something other than the Tri Tip sandwich. Oh and their waiters are attentive, they have a full bar and lots of tvs with various games on. Don't miss this place if you're here in Fresno.

The most popular sports grill of Fresno! Busy and buzzing especially on big game days for major sports, Fresno state games or concerts at save mart center as it's right across the street! Parking can get full. You can either have table service or self service where you order at the counter and find your own table. Can never go wrong with a basket of fries, they're seasoned and go amazing with ranch! I got the southwest salad and it was a great amount of food and healthy! It had avocado, black beans, corn, chicken, and onions. The sauce was good too. Drink cups are pretty good size too, you can fill those up at the fountain. Very loud environment since it's a big space and a sports grill, a lot going on!

Dog House is always busy, and for good reason. The lines can get long, but service moves quickly. Seating can be hard to find during peak hours, though tables are cleaned and turned over fast. The tri-tip is solid, and the tri-tip salad is also very good, a small size can easily feed two people. The onion rings ordered extra crispy are absolutely fantastic. Although I wasn't a big fan of the pulled pork, my husband really enjoys it. Portion sizes are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. Overall, great food and efficient service, just be prepared for the crowds.

As so many have said, it's really, really good, especially if you can avoid the busy times. We went most recently on a Sunday at 11 and were pleasantly surprised at the lack of patrons.

I had been avoiding this place because of the hype and horrible parking lot. We came tonight thinking it might be less busy on a Monday. Nope, not really haha But the tri tip sandwich is really good, making the parking hassle worth it. I had to take a star off for the cold hard fries sold separately for $4 or $5. The onion rings were great. It's not very often I eat tri tip better than my husband's, but this one is haha. I will definitely be back, parking lot be damned!

Everything was great! Counter service was quick and friendly, also patient with my indecisive ordering. Dining area for wait service (basically the bar section) was full, but we easily found a booth in the back. I actually prefer getting my drink refills and extra napkins myself. The bussers are very on top of things, and if I need any extra sauces or boxes, the staff is very helpful. Place was crowded on a Monday night, but not packed like it is on the weekends. Food is ready pretty fast and everything was served nice and hot. Calamari 10/10 Tri tip sando 8/10 Onion rings 10/10 French fries 7/10 Pork ribs 8/10 BBQ sauce 7/10 Sriracha mayo (aioli) 9/10 ABC Burger (was good, per my niece) Dog House Grill is a Fresno State and Fresno-must go to spot!

Son and I ate here after applying for an apartment for his upcoming Fresno State tenure. Line was out the door (as usual), but it moved quickly. Son got pulled pork sandwich, I got the calamari basket, and we shared a basket of fries. Food was on point and the basket of fries was too much for us to finish. Finding a seat can be challenging if you are eating here.

We came here with 4 people during lunch on Sunday and I heard this place is a very popular so I was worried it was gonna be busy. Surprisingly, we didn't wait that long in line. You first order what you want at the front cashier. I got the tri-tip steak sandwich ($17.00) and fries. After you order, you can get your drink and sit at any open table. We were able to find a table. I think we waited about 10-15 mins for the food to come out. The place was huge and had plenty of seating. Food was really good and it came with a lot of fries. I definitely think they made the bbq meat good for what it's worth in price. I would definitely come back to try the other bbq too.

When in Fresno, Dog House is a must. It can get pretty packed during lunch or dinner, but if you go during off hours, it's easier to find a seat. When I went, I grabbed a spot at the bar, which was perfect. The bartenders were super friendly and kind. I ordered a Hawaiian Punch, a side of fries, the Firebird sandwich cut in half, and a tri-tip sandwich. The food comes out pretty quickly, which I love because you're not waiting forever. The food is always really good, but the fries are honestly one of my favorite things there. They have the best seasoning and are so good. I can't get fries like that anywhere else. The Firebird sandwich is my go to every time. It has two chicken strips with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, sriracha ranch, and Jack cheese, and it never disappoints. They also have a lot of TVs, so it's a great spot to watch sports. Overall, Dog House is one of my favorite places to go in Fresno, and I'll always come back.

Took the kids out for dinner. Ordered right away upon entry and had the kids find a seat. Luckily it was late on a Wednesday so there were seats aplenty. The noise level is a bit on the higher level because of all the sports channels on. Kind of overwhelming after a long day especially for an old lioness like me lol. Kids wanted calamari, ABC burger and side of fries then we got the pork ribs and tri tip sandwich with baked beans and butter toast. No need for a basket of fries because it was weeeee-bit on the salty side. Definitely bar/drinking food. I was kind of disappointed because I wasn't going in on the food like omg it's so delicious. Yes great for a night out drinking, No on the family time.

The best trip tip and bbq sauce I've ever had in Fresno. Service is always quick and the setting is game day vibes.

Mid. It's been…read moreyears since my last visit and that last visit, I was very generous with my review. Especially since it was a rare occasion of getting great service. That's kind of why I never really cared to come back. Service was not consistent and the place is unbearably loud (yes, I know it's a sports bar)... very hard to have a decent conversation here without shouting. We sat in the bar area, Saturday, which we only went because someone misinformed him over the phone that they would be showing a boxing fight he was interested in... come to find out, they don't show boxing matches. We had already ordered our food/drinks before we found out so it was too late to go elsewhere. It was packed in there but there were two available tables for us to choose from and they did clean it off for us fairly quickly so we did appreciate that. Our guy got our drink orders right away, received it not too long after. Took a while before he got our food orders and even longer for the food to come out. Once the food did come out, he asked if we needed anything else, my man asked for another beer... apparently he didn't remember asking because he came back probably 15-20mins later asking if we needed anything else. My bf has more patience than me because he just told him another beer again only to wait probably another 10-15 minutes or so before finally getting it. Our wings were good... never had a problem with their wings. We got the Jammin' Jalapeños. The nachos... meh. Looks nice-ish upon receiving but there's really nothing to these Nachos and that was disappointing. A bunch of chips with only toppings/cheese/cream on the top layer. I should've taken a picture of what we didn't finish-- which was a lot. Either their quality went down or my taste just got more advanced. Oh, and my margarita was by far one of my least favorites I've had in a very long while... watered down, not much flavor (for a Strawberry marg), and just didn't taste like a margarita. I've had my fair share of margs, I'm very qualified to judge. Anyway, if it weren't for their wings-- I'd probably never think to come back... I'd be good with settling for getting them to go. If anything, I'd only go for a social gathering but even then-- there are better options. K, bye.

The steak bites were really good. It comes with a creamy chimichurri sauce and a Sriracha sauce that is pretty spicy. This is something I would get again. However, there was no heat. I went with the sweet potato fries for the side because a lot of the reviews spoke favorably of them. They were good, as sweet potato fries tend to be, but no different from any other place. The curry aoli it came with was tasty and it would be worth ordering just to try.

Eating at a restaurant with a 3 year old isn't exactly easy, especially solo, so we did a quick overall visit, but the staff that served us were so understanding and interactive. She brought my daughter water and her requested beverage in cups with lids (thank you), and everything was very fast. I even think she left off my daughter's beverage. They have a kids menu and it's a laminated menu that comes with white board markers. (So silly: My daughter was quick to point out that they were not preferred colors and asked about others, but the waitress was so kind and apologized for not having those colors but she had another one. Which was good enough for my daughter.) they had some good options for kids food wise.

Before I came here, I was told that the chicken fingers are, "a must order" so I got them along with two orders of bone-in wings. One tossed in BBQ sauce and the other tossed in a sweet thai chili sauce. The bone-in wings come six to an order and is a mix of flats and drum sticks. These were tasty, had a good amount of meat on the bone and sauced nicely. The chicken fingers here are trying to do too much; stuffed with cheese, wrapped in bacon, coated in breadcrumbs, and then deep fried. Sounds great in theory, but the chicken gets lost in all of the extra strong flavors and all you really taste is cheese and a tiny bit of bacon. Also, be careful biting into them while still hot. The grease can shoot out of the back of the finger and spray your hand. This happened to me, but luckily the grease wasn't too hot and didn't burn my hand. The staff here is awesome and the drinks were delish. Minus my chicken finger issue, I liked this small "kind of" sports dive bar. I'll be back!

Red Wave is like a blast from the past…read more Before a couple weeks ago-- I hadn't stepped foot in here in yearsss! Not because I didn't like the place, but because I hate Shaw traffic and I don't like being around people if I have a choice lol but when I'm feeling social and have the right people around me? Yes, please. Main thing we've gone for, obvi, are their Red Beers. I was never (still not) a beer drinker but the only thing that can make me drink beer?... these guys (Micheladas in general). They make a mean Miche! It may be frowned upon but I like mine with ice-- lots of it! Don't worry, with all the drinking you do, they also have fooooood-- and it's pretty darn good. The one thing I remember from years ago was their Chile Verde Quesadilla... it was bomb! Fast forward probably a decade+ later? Still bomb! On top of that-- my friend ordered their Nachos to share... yup, you guessed it! Bomb! My other friend ordered their Torta as well. I did not try it off her but I will take her word for it-- she said it was bomb. Duh. For a bar tucked away in the alley they're in (that's what it feels like to me)-- it's a decent size with significant space (parking can be tricky). Plenty of seating available and space to move around. It's exactly how you'd expect a bar to look and feel. The staff has always been quick to take our orders, super friendly, serving up quality, and they keep the place clean. I don't know what took me so long to come back but I'll try not to let my next visit go as long. This past visit happened to be a Karaoke night which was an added bonus. I can't sing like I wish I did in my head but hey-- I love to sing anyway (if I'm not shy). Enough liquid courage will do it. My friends and I took a few rounds on the mics together and it was a blast! If I remember correctly... Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are when Karaoke nights are held.
