It's a small location where the space can only occupy around 4 to potentially 6 customers at a time. There is available seating outside, a table that can fit for two and another table that can fit for four, it's definitely the type of setting where you should expect a quick grab and go. After making your order, there are only three stools set up, which makes sense because of the limited space available to stand around. Be prepared to stand outside for a bit or just go back inside when there is no potential hustle and bustle. The only issue that a person may face when coming here for the first time is trying to find the location itself. I consider the location to be part of a business plaza, so Hoji is not a stand alone business. It occupies a unit that is located next to another business called "COOKING BLOCK". I mention the business it's located next to because Hoji does not have a large business plaque like the other business units located here. Drink Choice: Salted Thai (Thai Tea + Salted Cream) This was an enjoyable drink. I'm familiar with how a Thai tea would normally taste and how the texture should feel when you're drinking one for the first time, so this is a definitely an A+ in my books. And the salted cream was not something I expected, but it was a nice after taste when finishing off each sip of the drink. Overall Experience: It was a great experience and I look forward to coming back here to try their other drinks. Close to the I10 Freeway... Great option when you crave boba tea in this neck of the woods. Although, It was just a bit hard to find at night & had a bad smell when we walked in. Not sure where the smell came from but our noses adjusted by the time we left. Or the powerful fan dissipated it quickly. The Matcha only comes in one small size and is delicious! I would order it again! Hubby liked his Thai tea & the boba was good. I didn't realize that there was a lot of caffeine in the Match until the gentleman told me so. That's especially great since we were driving late & needed a boost of delish energy There wasn't but maybe 2 spots to sit inside so I'm not sure if this is a place to congregate. The day we went they were out of matcha but we were able to try the sea cream and black sesame hojicha drinks. Both were creamy and delicious but we preferred the sesame drink more. Love this place. Probably the best tea-focused boba place in the area. Many options here for example like matcha, barley tea, and black sesame sea cream that you can't get anywhere else. Also, their boba is hand made, which is uncommon locally. It has a more pillowy soft texture so not as chewy which you may or may not like, but it is made fresh. Hoji sea salt latte is a chefs kiss. I love hochija and all different kinds of hojicha. I love that Hoji's is not grainy and has a light, but yet aromatic taste. With the sea salt cream, it becomes a refreshing, roasted, flavor, yet light milk tea that you can chug and can't stop drinking. Big plus for their handmade boba that is soft and chewy, but not too hard. The texture and flavor is spot on. I usually avoid getting boba in my drinks, but Hoji does it right. I came here with my family and verbally asked for the salted cream thai tea WITH boba, "could I please get the salted cream thai tea with boba and light ice" and my dad even repeated it to the worker. I received my drink with no boba and walked back in with my unopened drink and overheard the cashier telling another customer they were out of boba. I waited my turn and asked just to reconfirm that they were out of boba. Before I could say that I didn't receive boba in my drink when I asked for it the worker said "I didn't charge your family for boba. Your entire family didn't get boba." It was said with an attitude too, I didn't even bother arguing back but instead said okay and walked away because they had no boba anyway. I wouldn have paid for boba too if YOU hadn't made the mistake of not hearing me and my dad say we wanted the drink with boba. Everything was so tasty and great quality, but what really made this an amazing experience was the customer service, every drink is made carefully by the baristas. We sat outside and they forgot the boba in one of drinks and the owner was sitting outside conversing with customers and he overheard us say they forgot our boba and quickly went told the baristas and came personally to our table to give us a free drink with boba in a larger size than what we ordered! What a pleasant surprise Hoji is! My boyfriend and I aren't locals, we drove up to Redlands from Orange County. OC has amazing boba spots, so we aren't strangers to good boba shops. But this place is absolutely jaw dropping. Walking in, you notice the cute interior design. The store is pretty small and cozy, but it's so perfect! The drinks themselves are absolutely amazing. The tea flavor from the drinks is great and the tea is brewed to perfection. You can really tell that each drink is handcrafted with care, something you won't find at a chain. We got the barley tea with their handcrafted boba and sea cream, and the hojicha tea with sea cream. Both drinks were really great and the flavors were very balanced, the hojicha being a lighter flavor while the barley tea being a more darker roasted flavor. The boba was also really really good, my boyfriend said it was the best boba he's ever tried. The texture was really soft and chewy. Perfectly cooked. I've been hearing about this boba shop for weeks now and I've been wanting to go. I finally got a chance to stop by with my friend and was delighted by this small tea shop. Everything here is handmade and homemade, from the boba to the tea. The baristas working there are really sweet and when I asked him to suggest his favorite, he told me about the Rose Hojicha, which was delicious (as long as you enjoy floral drinks like me). The aesthetics of this shop is adorable and I love the different generations of cameras lining the wall.
