What a delightful little gem! We stumbled upon it after a great church service. It's super small, and we almost couldn't find parking due to the Mexican restaurant a few doors down. Everyone there was kind and amazing! I'm not sure what Japanese restaurants look like in Japan, but I imagined they look like this. They had Pokemon playing on tv. The menu was ample and very descriptive. On to the food! We started off with the Spam Masubi, appetizer for two, spicy tuna onigiri. The spicy tuna Onigiri was sooooo good! Wish we had more of it. We all shared communal style at the table, and everyone agreed it was by far the fav! The app for two wasn't too shabby either. It had shrimp tempura, crab Rangoon, gyoza, mozzarella sticks, and eggrolls. They were all either great to good. The tempura could have used a bit more time in the fryer, and it lacks some flavor. Also, mozzarella sticks make no sense, but they were ok. The consensus least fav was the spam musubi. Where the musubi at L&L Hawaiian was so delicious, this fell flat. We couldn't quite put our finger on it, but here it didn't make sense. None of us liked it. Even the spam felt off. We had the fiery roll, hoki shrimp bowl, and yakitori chicken bento. The sushi was ok. A bit too much cream cheese. The yakitori chicken was great. I will get to our one problem. The food was good to great, except the musubi. The portions are a bit on the smaller side for price. Not to terrible, we were still left wanting more. We also had dessert. We like matcha. We are weird, since most people we know aren't fans. We had the tiramisu matcha, matcha cheesecake soufflé, and strawberry mochi. They were all great. The fav was the mochi followed by the tiramisu. The soufflé was good, just some parts were a little dry. Oh and I almost forgot, they bring you fried wonton strips with sauce, like restaurants bring you chips and salsa. What a great touch, and they are addictive! The sauces didn't much. We ended up asking for chili oil instead. The miso soup was a surprisingly great soup!!!

I come here almost daily. I absolutely love their macha smoothies with tapioca!!! Everyone is super nice and patient! As soon as you open the door you can smell the goodness!!!

I tried the coconut milk tea with boba and the takoyaki from this place. I've had my fair share of boba, and I would say that this place is okay. The tea itself was really good - very creamy and coconut-flavored but not much tea flavor. The boba itself wasn't the best, but I think I went at an awkward time. This place would be a good place to sit down and study or even sit down to catch up with a friend. They also had a variety of asian food like bento boxes that seemed great and I will be back to try these! The takoyaki from this place had a very generous portion of red bean filling. It was a tad bit oily- I think they deep fry it-- but had a mochi chewy like texture. It was very filling. I ate it after a 20 minute drive, so it wasn't fresh. I'm sure it would have been amazing if it was fresh. It seem like a local business so I will come back to support them! I would give them a try if you are in the area.

My sister always says this place is good so I decided to try it out today and lemme tell you the food was amazing and the service was great friendly people and the place was very clean I enjoyed it will be going back to try other things.

Was really surprised with this place. The food was very delicious and so were the boba drinks. Will definitely be back to try different menu items. Also pleasantly surprised at how many items were available on the menu. The servers are nice and quick. The inside sometimes gets busy but not too bad.

We stopped for lunch & it wasn't too busy. Beautiful wall decor & very clean. I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box & he had the chicken teriyaki bento box. We had different sides so we could share. The teriyaki sauce was very tasty and they both had generous servings. They also have a Chinese menu

Stopped by Hoki Bento Boba cafe, and I think I found my new favorite lunch spot! They had a wide selection of bento boxes and I opted for the salmon box. The salmon was perfectly cooked and so delicious. The portion of rice and salmon was great for a lunch meal. The cashier was kind enough to explain the menu for me and even offered me Boba. They had indoor seating, but I opted for a to-go order. Overall, I can't wait to come back!

Came here with my kids for dinner and we were amazed at everything. The food, the atmosphere, the staff! We will definitely be coming back and trying more of the delicious food. We all got Thai Tea Boba drinks and they have water available which was ice cold and delicious. Very clean, fast service which was great!

The food here was delicious! It is very nice, clean, and simple decor. The service was always great. As our food was done, each time was brought out nice and hot. I tried the salmon bento box which was a special that included a 20 oz. Drink. We also had the combo fried rice and hoki soup noodle and a mango milk tea boba drink. I would definitely recommend this place!

Really great food service and ambience. I definitely will be coming again. I really liked the kind hostess, who is very accommodating with my order and moreover, the vibes of the place is super chill and relax I can't wait to come back.

Don't second guess bc this place has just a few reviews. Teriyaki chicken, beef, shrimp...everything we have ordered from here is solid. Kid approved too.

But my son, bless his heart, wasn't exposed to Officer Whats-his-face explaining to a class of fifth graders how deviously addictive substances like heroin, crack, and hot pot can be. So my kid has had a habit for about three or four years now. Chinese hot-pot barely tempts me these days; I don't need a numb mouth like that. Mongolian...that level of sodium was fine in my twenties, I guess. Shabu proper - served with ponzu and sesame sauce by some fella wearing a headband starts to get tempting. But I'm doing well this year, I've only flown to LA's Japantown for my fix once. And honestly, this is not that anyway. Most of these restaurants, where they expect me to boil my own dinner, are pretty easy to wean off of. I mean, seriously, how lazy can a restaurant owner be. Here's some raw meat, cook it yourself, folks? Unfortunately, Wild Japanese's offering is more akin to the most delicious of the hot pots. Singaporean or Malaysian style, with a gigantic assortment of sauces and a flavorful selection of broths, and the best soup you've ever had waiting for you at the end of your meal. And I hope that helps explain why when we go two weeks without a visit, my son starts to get really antsy and sees bugs crawling under his skin, just like Officer What's-His-Face said he would. I think originally you could get just not-shabu; nowadays, they make you pair the hot pot with some inferior food. We've tried the sushi a few times. That was a huge mistake. The Korean BBQ pairs well, it's just a lot of effort, and not a lot of soup, so we grill a token steak or two but otherwise stick to not-shabu. Anyway, that's a short entomology of hot pots throughout the world, excluding fondue, according to my tummy. I could probably stop anytime if I really wanted. Eating this delicious not-shabu. But for my son's sake, I go.

I was iffy because I've tried curry a couple times before and didn't like it because it has a slight sweetness, but I prefer savory and spicy. The girl at the front was so kind, helpful, and honest with my questions. She told me the Chicken Katsu Curry may have a sweetness, but not a super strong one. So I decided to go with it and make it spice level medium so give me what I like and balance the possible sweetness. I chose everything else on my own, but she did comment that the shrimp tempura was really good and she was not lying!! They put some kind of topping on it and it's amazing. For everything I ordered, it was $36. In my opinion, the pricing was incredible. And I drove all the way from here to my home on the northeast side to eat and everything was still hot and crunchy! So I'm thinking it was made fresh. They put my curry on the side so I could add it myself which was smart thinking! They obviously have a great team. After Tuesday visit, the rating remains on 5, but only because we had an amazing time on Sunday. Maybe on Tuesday there was a different chef, but food just didn't taste the same, and a few Sunday dishes we asked for on Tuesday (standard menu) were sold out. Both times I had rice lager specially brewed for the restaurant, and it was delicious. An absolute highlight on Sunday was the dish called Hand of God - the smoky wagyu on top of the rice cake was just an absolute perfection, not anything I had before (this dish was not available on Tuesday). We also had similarly smoky vegetable roll which was also experience in itself. This was my first time at the sushi restaurant where waiter suggested that the nigiri pieces are perfectly ready to eat, require no extra soy sauce or wasabi, and should be picked up by hand instead of chopsticks - another wonderful experience. I also had few different nigiri piece, two different types of mackerel and uni - an absolute wow (on Sunday). We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.

Miyabi Asian Fusion has menu items from multiple eastern countries and blends them into a single menu, which was the draw for us to come explore. We started off with the Korean Chicken for an appetizer and it was OK. It might be unfair to compare local dishes to the stated country, as the ingredients are most likely not the same, or as fresh, but that is the rule of measure I'm using. Ordered the Red Curry Chicken and it was also good, had lots of different veggies inside, but lacked any spice. I like enough spice to make my head sweat, but before my tongue loses all feeling. It did neither. We took on the crispy Texas Roll and the Tiger Roll. Again, good, above average although it was prepared nicely. Wasabi needed a bit more punch, which would have helped.
