I've been to both Artea locations in San Antonio, this spot is far more spacious and has plenty of seating. I like their milk tea, not so much the food from what I've tried. If you're looking to fulfill your milk tea craving I'd recommend this spot! I've tried the parm garlic aioli fries, and popcorn chicken. Wasn't impressed by either. I can't justify the price for the fries, they were good but not $8 good. Popcorn chicken would not get again, tasted different than other boba spots I'm used to. Almost tastes like they oven baked or air fryed it and not deep fried, which is what other places do. Maybe their actual entree foods are better, but I don't think I'd go here for the food again. The milk teas are tasty though! I think it's the best I've had in San Antonio. There's a lot of options, and they have special drinks frequently from what I've seen. I always go for the crème brûlée milk tea, and I've learned that I can't handle their default 100% sweetness without it hurting my stomach halfway through. Stopped by for lunch with a friend on Tuesday. It was pretty empty when I arrived but as time went on, people flowed in for lunch. The decor is pretty boring in the dining area but the bar area is cute. I ordered the gua bao buns which featured braided pork belly but they can keep the powdered sugar, it's weird. I also ordered a California Roll and it was nothing to write home about, wouldn't order it again. Something to note, I was using the metal fork provided but it was giving my food a metallic taste so I opted to just eat with my hands. You need to go up to pick up your drink order (when your buzzer goes off), but they deliver your food. It is a bit noisy inside, a lot coming from the drink station. They have quite a few options from food to creative drinks. We each placed our orders along with regular black tea. I believe I had the chicken teriyaki and my husband had a bento box. Melanie was so helpful with describing the menu it made ordering super easy. Plenty of seating inside, but once it cooled down we moved outside. First of all, I've walked into the other location before, and this one is WAY bigger and beautifully decorated. So clean and made for a larger crowd. The food was prepared quickly, served immediately while hot, and the staff was the most patient and cordial I've ever met. It's counter service but the kitchen runner brings your food to you, and you get your silverware and boba when it's ready from the front counter. The set up is a bit different but totally user friendly. We got 3 appetizers, 3 teas, and 5 entrees and only paid 125 before the tip. Pretty darn good considering the massive serving sizes and amazing flavor and quality. I highly reccommend the teriyaki chicken don and tonkatsu ramen. We haven't been to @drinkartea in a while. We typically go to the DeZavala location but found out that Marissa would be at the Culebra Commons location yesterday so we decided to check it out! The space is much larger and even have a covered patio area. I got Dad the Strawberry Frappe, I had the Butterfly Pea Special, and hubby had the Signature Milk Tea with lychee jelly. We had our usual favorites, which was the Gua Baos. Meat so tender and the soft buns. Dad and I shared the Taiwanese Rice Noodles, which reminds me of Mom's cooking. Drinks are prepared in a boba style cup, pretty small but I can't remember what "size" we ordered. They have drinks to go and some come in reusable bottles with screw on lids. My 3-star rating goes to the bowl I had that particular day. I decided to go with the "Pork Belly Don"--braised pork belly slices on rice with a soft-boiled egg and vegetables. Presentation looked great, but unfortunately the pork was very dry and not as delicious as I had hoped. The food tasted "old," so I'm unsure if it had been sitting out a while before it was served or if it just wasn't freshly made. It was good portioning though, and I still ate it all! There wasn't really anyone "taking care" of us--you order inside at the register and then you sit down and they deliver your food. The young guy who brought our food only brought out the plates and then said, "utensils are inside" after seeing that we had nothing else on the table. This was a little annoying, but again, maybe this is how things are done. Lastly, before leaving we ordered some drinks to go. My favorite boba spot in San Antonio! This franchise would be a worthy competitor in the Bay Area (where people eat, sleep, and breathe boba). The aesthetic is trendy, they've put a lot of effort into the outside and entrance decorations. You order at the front counter and then find a seat, there's plenty of seating. The service at the counter is usually good and friendly. This place is ideal for hanging out or just catching a solo lunch and drink. This place is not ideal for doing work or reading since the music is loud outside and inside. In addition, they do not offer wifi. I was able to use a personal hotspot for my laptop so it is possible to hunker down here with some earphones. Getting a meal and drink here brightens up my day. I really enjoy Artea's milk tea drinks. Jasmine milk tea is my favorite and the quality is consistent. I've tried a few other drinks and am quite pleased with them. Foodwise, I've had the Tonkotsu Ramen, Pork Belly Don, and Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken. Since this is a boba shop first, the food exceeded my expectations.
