An express sushi and ramen spot is a great alternative when you don't want to sit and dine in, or, need a place with a reservation. I opted for the Nigiri sushi that had both tuna and salmon. Generous portion and very fresh. I got the Spicy miso ramen broth with the crispy duck. They give you options to sort of build your own bowl between the protein, broth, and extras. You added your own spice at the table so you could tone it down if you wished. Overall the broth was good, and the duck was ok. The texture of the ramen was a little overdone but overall I enjoyed the bowl. They have a lot of appetizers as well as sushi burritos and their bubble tea was a favorite at the table! read more

I love that they revamped this corner spot into a restaurant again after it sat vacant for years. Inside is bare bones- tables, walls, windows, etc could use a good cleaning as they are covered in ramen splatter. It is counter service only, which is fine. Menu is relatively small, but I appreciate that they have a vegan ramen option. Ramen portions are significantly larger when you dine in vs takeout. And takeout is never hot. It's warm at best. And by the time you get it home it's barely room temp. Vegan ramen is ok, it's mostly tofu and noodles with a very small amount of carrot and maybe two pieces of bamboo. Nothing else. read more

I had went to the Taste of Buffalo and had this wonderful dumpling in ramen broth. It was delightful so I decided to go to the restaurant in Hamburg. The first thing I ask to the droopy half sleeping associate is which item is the one I had at the Taste of Buffalo (just ending 2 days before). She was of course not listening and went on about some soups and I repeated my question to which she finally admitted she didnt know and by her action wasnt going to find out. The restaurant spends all that time and money vending at the Taste of Buffalo and doesnt inform their employees as to what they served. I think you missed the point of being there. My friend and I were eating in but we still received our meal in to go boxes and my soup came in a big bowl. It was nothing like I had at the Taste - it was deeply in need of salt and love. The shrimp skewers had a nice crunchy taste from the shells that were rolled in the batter. This was not a fun dinner. My friend who I dragged along wanted plates and some semblence of going out to dinner. I failed her. Im not going back because seriously there was not one thing calling my name there- from the sleepy employee to the non dining experience. read more

We have been excited for a new place to open in Hamburg that offers something besides the standard burger, pizza and chicken fingers that everyone else has. We stopped by today for a quick to go lunch. It wasn't busy but it was nice to see people there supporting this new business. Our order was ready in about 15-20 mins which isn't too bad. Upon taking out our ramen we were happy to see that the bowls neatly separated the noodles and toppings from the broth. Its a great idea because no one likes soggy noodles. Overall I'd say this place is pretty good but you need to know it's more of a fast casual take on ramen and not really what I'd consider to be authentic. Not that it's bad but it's good to know what to expect. I tried the shoyu ramen and the pork broth was very good. A lot of flavor and the right amount of salt. There was a nice hearty helping of pork but it was huge chunks instead of the standard meat and thin slices that usually accompany ramen. My other comment is that the noodles are standard but nothing special. I was hoping for a more authentic chewy and possibly home made noodle. My significant other had the dumpling miso ramen. He said it was pretty good and had the same comments as I did. He enjoyed the dumplings and appreciated there were plenty for a meal, 5. Food was good, but I guess I was expecting a nice sit-down place where there would be servers and a menu. This is more of a take-out place. Yes, there are tables to sit down but it's very much like a chipotle for ramen/sushi. You order at the counter and then sit down at a table... Everything is in takeout boxes. $18 for a sushi burrito that desperately needs sauce. But, it is still the only place we've been able to find sushi burritos locally besides food trucks. Really disappointed with our experience at Limehouse. My parents went to pick up a takeout order that was placed ahead of time, and they ended up waiting 45 extra minutes with no explanation or apology. Only after my mom asked did someone finally say it had to be remade -- which should've been communicated right away. The worst part was the rude and dismissive attitude from the staff and manager. When my mom politely asked if they'd offer a discount or gift card for the long wait, they refused and brushed her off. The manager didn't care at all. My dad also came in to check what was going on and was treated just as poorly. I live in Hamburg and love supporting local businesses, but this kind of treatment is unacceptable. Unless something changes, I'll be sharing this experience with others in the community. read more

Lime house is a great spot for a quick casual meal or delicious takeout. I have ordered from lime house a few times and it has always been delicious. Service is always friendly and on time. This occasion was the first time I had eaten in house. My husband ordered the dumpling miso ramen and I ordered the shrimp tempura ramen. Both were delicious. The shrimp was perfectly crispy and broth has so much flavor. I would also highly recommend the crispy chicken ramen! The flavor of the chicken is just too good. I think Lime house is a perfect addition to Hamburg Village and I'm looking forward to trying some of their other menu items like the milk teas, poke bowls or fresh sushi. read more

We had the Miso Carmel Crab $13 (Kani stick, cream cheese, avocado fried with tempura batter topped with miso caramel sauce, crunch, scallion) and The Die Hard Roll $18 (Crab, tuna, salmon, cream cheese, avocado sushi roll fried with tempura batter topped with chopped shrimp tempura, spicy sauce, teriyaki sauce, tobiko, shallot, crunch, scallion) I've had the Die Hard before and it's probably my favorite sushi roll I've had, ever, anywhere! I wanted the fish fry ramen that they were advertising for lent but he said they didn't have any fish so I got the Crispy Chicken Ramen $18 (House made crispy chicken, egg, bean sprout, carrot, corn, scallion, bamboo shoots, fish cake, sesame, pork broth miso base) and we also got the Dumpling Coconut Ramen $16 (chicken broth, coconut milk, onion soup, chicken dumplings,tempura veggies, scallion,sliced red onion) this broth was rich and delicious! This fast casual restaurant has very warm & friendly service. They have a cold case with drinks (Ramune!), ready made sushi (vegan choices!), and slices of crepe cake. While we were there, we saw many people arrive to pick up takeout and grab things from the cold case. They have an extensive menu, with sashimi, sushi burritos, sushi rolls, dumplings (steamed and fried), big bowls of ramen, mochi ice cream, & that crepe cake that people are *crazy* about. The cashier/order taker was gracious & warm, and had great communication. We heard him explaining things to some, and though there was a line of people, he was really patient & kind with each customer. We loved everything that we ordered: Coconut Shrimp w/dipping sauce Chicken Dumplings (fried) 12 pc sashimi (tuna, yellowtail & salmon) Hello Coco Roll (shrimp, coconut flakes, sauce) Double Dragon Roll (eel & avocado) Spider Roll (fried soft shell crab) Spicy Tuna Roll (from the cold case) Dumpling Miso Ramen (perfectly jammy eggs, plump dumplings!) Crepe cake (more on this!) About that Crepe Cake... While we were there, we saw them put out 4 pieces of cake in the cold case. It was perfect dessert timing for us, so we walked over to buy one. We had no idea that apparently people WATCH for this cake & RUSH to get them as soon as they are put out! At this moment, about 3/4 of the seating areas were filled w/diners having dinner on a weeknight. Within about 10 minutes, there were no crepe cake slices left in the case! Crepe cake has only a few ingredients, but it is a labor intensive process. After all the crepes are made, a simple mixture of lightly sweetened heavy whipped cream is slathered in between each stacked layer to assemble. Some places only use 15-ish crepe layers, but Lime House uses 25 layers in their cake (yes I counted). It's no wonder that people snap these slices up as fast as they can put them out! The OG crepe cake is from Japan, and a bakery called Lady M is very well known for theirs. They are international now, in NYC & LA, and their crepe cakes are 20 crepe layers tall - and *expensive*. If Lime House was in my neighborhood, I would be very happy with their crepe cake slices - I like their slightly thicker crepes & their slightly sweeter cream. They serve a little strawberry sauce on the side, but I love the flavor of the crepe cake just plain. As with many other restaurants, Lime House has struggled to find enough employees - so next time I will follow the tip on the sign by the register & call to place my order ahead. Tough to Review - let me premise this review by acknowledging that they're just in their first few days of opening. But this is their second location so here's how it went. We were running errands and going to grab a late burger when we saw the Open sign. We'd heard about the Lime houses other location and were excited to try them out in Hamburg. So we zipped a u-turn. We arrived about 3:30 in the afternoon. It wasn't busy just a couple and a single person ahead of us. The style of ordering is walk up counter service. The first thing we noticed is it is kind of tough to read their menu electronic display monitors. The font style at size combined with a glaring screen makes it awkward to read. There's no obvious line or place to line up to order or to stand while waiting so everyone just kind of stacks up jockeying for an angle to see the menu and not get in the way of diners or people waiting. There are no paper menus or auxiliary menus available. Ordering was a slow. The cashier seemed nervous and unsure and was having his own share of challenges ringing in orders while also trying to training another. We ordered a spicy miso ramen soup and a dumpling miso ramen soup with a spicy tuna roll that was pre made and in a box available in an adjacent display case. The pre made menu items in the display case aren't on the menu they're printed on labels that are stuck on the display case edges. Which also makes it awkward to figure out The sushi roll box contains to-go soy sauce and a dollop of wasabi paste. We were given a pager to call us when the food was ready. While we waited we looked up the website and menu and it is a lot easier to understand what their menu item offerings are. So do yourself a favor and check it out first. It will really help you. The soups took around 20 minutes to come out (See the pictures). The pager goes off and is very loud and keeps buzzing until you can get to the pick up window. The soup is presented in a to-go container that consists of a thick paper bottom bowl filled with steaming hot broth. Topped with a plastic insert containing the noodles and ingredients. Sealed with a lid. You remove the top, fetch out the insert and pour and mix the ingredients together. They provide a thick plastic reusable spoon (they expect back) and chop sticks at the tables. The only condiment available is soy sauce at the table. The roll was fine, not much else to say It's a small Maki style roll for $8.50. The soups were $15 ea and came out very hot. My wife got 6 dumplings, noodles and some assorted vegetables etc and a traditional soft boiled egg with her soup. My soup came with a spicy broth and pork. But frankly not very much, although what was provided was tender. The noodles were ok but not traditional, more similar to a vermicelli and it also had the vegetables and egg. All in all steaming hot ramen soup is at least good. So much better than traditional soups in the good old USA. But then there aren't many soups that are meant to be entrees here. I love ramen soup. I've had ramen soup from Japan to San Francisco, Flagstaff,Az to Stuart, FL and dozens and dozens in between. From famous restaurants to street stalls, from memorable to meh. I'm not a connoisseur but I've eaten a heck of a lot of ramen. So this review is specifically about ramen. I only bring this up for context. So why the 3 stars. 1 Star dropped because while new the slow ordering, hard to read menu, and overall awkwardness was really unnecessary. This is location #2. You only get 1 opening, 1 first impression. Then there's the value, $41.87 just felt to much for an ok roll and 2 bowls of ramen but not particularly a better ones. We've passed by this place a tonne, but stopped in because it was close and we like sushi. We'll be passing by it from now on. Okay, so the place is clean and modern looking, and they have a small menu which usually means that a place can do something really well. Eh. Unfortunately not here. We got the spicy salmon and the spicy crab. I could not for the life of me tell the two apart. Like, similar ingredients, sure. But crab and salmon taste nothing alike. So, that was disappointing. The texture was all that really let me know which was which while eating them. And the spicy sauce, which the rolls were covered in (see pic) was about as spicy as a vanilla cake. Also, the place has a real fast food vibe (pay at the counter, grab and go stuff) but the two rolls took for ever. It wasn't even close to busy, and we were waiting close to a half hour for the two rolls. IDK, I'm not really holding the wait time against them, my review and stars really are just the food. The guy at the counter was nice, though. And made sure I got gluten free soy sauce and no chives on the rolls. If I was just reviewing that guy, the review would have been much higher. The Lime House is a great addition to Hamburg. We badly needed a solid, straight up sushi/ramen place. The sushi was excellent ( we got three rolls- the mango was my fav) and two spicy ramen bowls. We also got two non-alcoholic drinks. Our bill was $65- which I think is a bit pricey for a takeout experience. The space was clean and brightly (really brightly) lit. Everyone was super friendly. In the future, I think a great option would be for this restaurant to transition to a little more sit down; a little less takeout. read more

Lime house was really good. Not what I expected! I assumed sit down restaurant. You go in and order at a counter and get a buzzer, then sit wherever you want. My boyfriend and I ordered at the same time, however his came out 10 mins after mine due to the complexity of making the sushi roll. I ate my ramen since I didn't want it to get cold. But it would have been nice if they came out together. Service and taste was great. Order at the counter style ramen and sushi is sure to fill your belly with delicious hot comforting goodness. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures. My Miso Dumpling Ramen was spot on. Egg perfectly cooked. Miso broth not too strong. Very nice bowl that make me so so happy. Sushi was fresh made and perfect. We got a simple California roll but they also had fancy rolls available. Spring rolls and dumplings both steamy crunchy delicious. Everything is packed in convenient to go packaging if you are taking it out. It would have been nicer if they did not use such waste when people are ordering in. It was a lot to throw away. Their cold case was chocked full of delightful choices including Bubble Tea in a can. Went there on Sunday april 27th was totally TERRIBLE I ordered the Duck Ramen sorry it wasn't Duck But it was a Quater chicken, the eggs they are supposed to be soft-boiled in a ramen dish. They were hard boiled eggs, cut in half the broth tasted like he came out of a can. The ramen noodles were terrible. My girlfriend got spicy shrimp ramen. The shrimp was way overcooked like it had been sitting in a pot for hours. Again, the broth was like he came out of a can from Swanson. The eggs were hard boiled, not soft-boiled and the ramens werer unedible. They refunded me for my duck ramen. The $20 which I had one taste of the duck and told him I wouldn't eat the rest of it and The spicy shrimp was 2 bites of the Spicy shrimp. They did not refund us for that. Don't waste your money. This was disappointing. I should've read the reviews. We went there for our anniversary. Instead of being a nice sit-down restaurant like it looks from the outside, it's a take-out place, where our food took 35 minutes to arrive and we weren't even greeted. Pros: The place is clean. The sushi was good. I liked the 3 shrimp tempura skewers that came with my soup, and also liked the red bean mochi, in spite of the fact that the red/pink color comes from cochineal extract (dried & crushed bugs with a vivid red tint). Cons: The ramen was greatly over-priced and tasteless. Even the "spicy" ramen had no heat whatsoever. I spent a year in Japan, and this ramen bore no resemblance to the delicious soups I experienced there. It was weird to be eating basically under-cooked spaghetti in place of noodles, in a completely flavorless broth. It's going to be hard to get down the leftovers. Too expensive: Our meal for 2 cost $67.00 with the tip. Result for us: The "cons" outweighed the "pros." We're not going back. read more

I had high hopes and admittedly my first experience was positive beyond thinking they are a little over priced. Today I got three chicken dumplings and the spicy crab roll. The crab roll was ALL BONE. I had to end up throwing out the roll. The third piece I bit in and painfully bit into a large chunk of bone. It actually got wedged in my tooth, which was a whole ordeal. I tried it spent like $100 on food so I should have gotten a good idea of their potential and I did they don't have it , I wouldn't waste my time there again. I recently went here with a few girlfriends and we thought the service was OK. A few things I noticed that I thought were important to include: -the board to order is hard to read and you constantly need to step back while at the register ordering. -the pricing is a little bit on the higher end in regards to it being a ramen cafe. -the amount of waste you receive when you actually order. I had purchased boba tea, spring rolls and ramen. The boba tea cup is a premium plastic and I assume most people will throw it away? They also package their sushi and spring rolls in a "for here" setting. -it felt like a lot of their items were prepackaged / frozen.
