Spent a weekend on the Metolius and had dinner here both nights--one night we had Peruvian and the other Mexican. On both nights we had house margaritas delivered with the whole shaker and sipped them for an hour! Peruvian night was Seco de Pollo with a fabulous cilantro sauce, Lomo Saltado done perfectly and the Peruvian ribs with potatoes were amazing. All really great. Mexican night was Carne Asada, enchiladas verdes and real chiles rellenos with poblano peppers and some heat to it. It was busy both nights and the service was good and the place had a great vibe. Not sure what else some of these reviews are looking for after a great day fishing or hiking along the Metolius and a really great restaurant is just waiting for you. Just go! read more

We were camping in Camp Sherman and were pleasantly surprised to see Hola there! Sure the prices are a little higher because it's in a very remote location, but it is worth it. Our favorite item was the red cactus margarita! We also did the table side guacamole and each of us had different entrees. My carne asada was great! I highly recommend eating there if you are in the area! read more

We are just breaking ground on our new home in Camp Sherman and finally got into Hola this afternoon! It has been recommended by many and it was GREAT!! We were greeted with a smile and the friendliness continued through our entire meal. The food was superb!! I have a goal to try everything on the menu! Great food in one of the coolest places on earth, and since there are no other restaurants for many miles, Hola is great!! Only been there once. Kinda pricey, but they had some different options to suit different budgets. read more

We decided to try Hola! Tuesday night at about 6:00. Much to our surprise (and apparently to theirs) they were HAMMERED with guests. The result was slightly sub-par service, though everyone was friendly and as helpful as they had time for. They have a bar, and we tried a "regular" mixed drink. It was tasty and quite potent! They have adopted the standard "Mexican food place" practice of providing tortilla chips and salsa while you await your meal. In addition to the "spicy" (it wasn't, very) red sauce, they had a "mild" green sauce that was quite nice and interestingly different. The waiter had apparently fielded our question before, because he was immediately able to say that the sauce was made with cilantro and garlic and some rice oil and jalapeño oil, which adds an interesting flavor, but no heat. We ordered nachos with pulled pork. The pork was quite good but the guacamole was "eh, it's guac", and a chile relleno which arrived in a bowl, drowned in a very tomato-forward sauce. The chile, which was stuffed with a mild but pleasant cheese had a little snap, but the dish was otherwise very much not to my taste. Prices were high. Not unexpected for the location and what we hear about Hola!'s reputation, but disappointing: We ordered one appetizer, one entree, one mixed drink and one beer. With tip, the price was north of $50! Ambience: It's potentially quite nice. While we were there, there was a young man who was there with his very young child. The child was near the end of his ability to cope and was disruptively loud. The staff not only didn't try to ameliorate the disruption (offer them a spot outside perhaps?), they actually asked the young man if he wanted another beer after he'd paid his bill. I suspect he was a family member of someone on staff, maybe who needed to share a vehicle after quitting time (??) but I didn't appreciate the child's disruption. We'll be back, maybe, once; to see if their lunch menu is more affordable and to try a couple of other things (fish tacos, something Peruvian)... but it doesn't seem likely that we'll be regulars. read more

We must have hit this on a off day as everyone seems to love it. It was the worst meal ever! How can you mess up cheese enchilada rice and beans! Couldn't even eat it! Both of our plates came out with huge chips on the side of the dishes. Sad I was really looking forward to a fun spot to eat at our favorite spot on earth camp Sherman! read more

The staff is great and the food is better. Highly recommend the fish tacos or the ahi tuna. The carne asada is also amazing.

We can't say enough good things. Starters (ceviche & quacamole) were excellent. Margaritas, fabulous!!! All the food is great, but especially liked the Chile Relleno. My husband ordered a Peruvian dish and really enjoyed it. read more

I'm going to start by saying the service was a 5 and so the 2 star review is no reflection of the staff. The food however was very disappointing. For the price, portions were tiny and the food was extremely bland. My husband and I both ordered combo plates that come with beans and rice. I think we literally each got about 2 teaspoons of beans and half that of rice. The enchiladas had no sauce, only cheese on top. The shredded chicken was actually big chunks of very dry chicken with no seasoning. The red salsa was very runny-it looked like water with some chunks of onion and tomato. We were SO looking forward to a great dinner at Hola after our hike up Black Butte and instead left disappointed and out $60+ dollars. I hope they can turn things around. read more

It was not crowded on a Thursday evening, but the food and drinks were fabulous. We need to get out the word. A gem by the Metolius River. Antonio was so friendly and the service was perfect. My husband had a Pisco Sour (with an entire side shaker enough for 2 more!) and I had the absolutely delicious Spicy Maracuya Mojito, also with a refill! The table-made guacamole was delicious, as were our entrees of Halibut Tacos and on the Peruvian side, Chancho a lo Sancho (braised pork loin.) We will return! read more

We have been4 times. The food is delicious and very fresh. Best food between Salem and Sisters. Super friendly staff. Margaritas are great.l

We are a big fans of Hola in Bend and have eaten there many times with wonderful experiences. And living in Sisters we thought it was great they opened a new restaurant in Camp Sherman. But after dining there last night I and my friends were greatly disappointed. I have always loved their Chile Relleno and suggested my wife try it. When it arrived it was enjoyable but a much smaller portion than that served in Bend. I love tamales so when I saw the Peruvian style Tamales de Puerco on the menu I jumped in. The masa in the tamales was awesome, too bad they added very little pork to the dish. Adding insult to injury the prices at Camp Sherman are on average $3 higher than Hola charges at their other locations for identical offerings; either they are taking advantage of the higher economic status of many customers in this resort location or working to pay off the debt involved in expanding its business, maybe both. We will continue eating at Hola in Bend when in town but won't venture out into our own backyard anytime soon. read more

The location is pretty lovely with a nice outdoor patio. Great hiking and fishing in the area. Our server was pretty efficient, but a bit overworked. Service was slow. The food is where they take the hit. Presentation was lovely, but the food needs that because it just didn't stand on its own. The chile relleno was a chile with corn and a soupy tomato sour cream and cheese sauce poured over it. A scant side plate of Rice and beans to the side. My flour tortillas were virgin white, and cold, my wife's corn tortillas were crisp and chewy. Our daughter had a chicken plate with a lime infused mashed potato. The mashed potatoes were a big part of The sell on the menu and were delivered as two dollops about the size of a rounded tablespoon. The chicken was obviously NOT fresh. All in all what was to be a really fun end to a great Father's Day ended up being some great beer on a cute patio, with food that just wasn't fun. And with tip food for 3 was just at 100$. read more

Food was great, wonderful setting, but we had terrible service. Waited to be noticed to be seated, and our waitress almost ignored us. We were brought our food without a word, and ignored . We had no napkins or silverware, so had to ask twice and finally went over to get our own. No check back for more chips, salsa, water, or second beer for my husband. She never asked if we liked our food, needed anything, etc. So disappointing for a nice restuarant. Probably won't go back. read more
