The gluten free biscuit sandwiches and pop tarts are fantastic!! The biscuit stays in tack as you eat it! The biscuit is buttery and flavorful. The pop tart is a lovely sweet treat with great pastry dough. I've been to a ton of gluten free places and Hold the Wheat is holding great free things in their cases!! You should try them if you haven't between great staff and great things to eat in the adorable cafe you can't go wrong. read more

I was very excited for this GF addition in Beaverton and enjoy the jalapeño popper but the Spencer cake that I got for my birthday was just too dense. The danishes have a hard crust. I'm not GF but my friend is and whenever I see a new place, I'd like to tell her about it and I happen to be in the neighborhood so I wanted to check it out. Right off the bat I thought this was such a cute little place and it was bright and cheery, but I also noticed that it was pretty expensive. Obviously specialty stores like this tend to price their items higher because they know the value for people that have dietary restrictions, but it also feels a bit opportunistic. I still decided to give it a try and I ordered a 12 ounce Earl gray with a little bit of oat milk and one of the snuggle pies For some reason, I ended up with an 8 ounce Earl Gray and the only reason I knew is because she handed a 12 ounce mocha to the person next to me and I noticed that our drinks were not the same size. Normally, I would've said something, but I didn't want to wait for her to remake it. I also noticed that they charge an extra DOLLAR for alternate milk, which I absolutely think is ridiculous, even the granddaddy of the coffee joints in the northwest decided that charging people for alternate milk is stupid. When they had the snuggle pie, I noticed it was warm, but I don't remember them heating it up, but I took the first bite and it literally sprayed crumbs everywhere. I don't know if it's because it's a gluten-free base or because it was super dry, but it was impossible to eat in the car so I just set it aside and waited until I got home. The sausage was OK, a little on the salty side and the cheese wasn't really gooey, but it was more like it had been cooked and then put in the refrigerator and then reheated so it had that weird texture that cheese gets after it's been reheated. I feel like it needed some sort of sauce to make it less dry. I would like to try one of their sweet pastries but again it's pretty pricey and it's not in my neighborhood so I'm definitely not gonna go out of my way to go back there. read more

It was a little overpriced, and the filling in my vegan savory pastry was far far too salty. I feel like they need to work more on their filling recipes since I've seen some other comments about that. Dial back the salt, add more herbs and spices for flavor. read more

Ive been wanting to try this place out because I would see them all the time passing by. Finally got to try them. My first impression walking in was WOW, this place is so cute. I loved the warm interior design. Ambiance was great. Everything in the case amazed me because they had so many unique pastries and sweets good that were different to be gluten/vegan free. The price was a bit high for what they're worth. I picked up a couple items. Two savory and two sweets. The service was okay. Not the greatest treatment that I received. I got home and excited to try these treats! However, I found them to be way too salty for my liking. I couldn't even finished half of it because the filling was wayyyy too salty.. For the sweet it was a bit overly sweet but it was still edible. The sweets were actually a very good texture for being gluten free. I would still come back and try some other items for a second opinion. read more

I've been to lots of GF bakeries and they're fine but THIS one is next level! The pastries lack the dry, heavy texture that I'm used to and have amazing flavor. There hasn't been anything I've tried that I just don't like and it's also super cute and the customer service is excellent! Not the best pictures but I love that there are both sweets and savories. If you guys don't have your recipes "quite dialed in" you guys should hand out free samples and ask people for their feedback rather then selling a product that's not up to standard and having people waste their hard earned money on it. I came with my girlfriend who has celiac disease. Everything I tried was good. The biscuits and gravy were the highlight! Best gravy I've had in a very long time. I also had a breakfast skillet which was good but I'm not sure I'd order it again. I took a lemon square to go which made for an amazing snack the next day. Their matcha latter delivered as well. I've tried other gf bakeries around town and this is the first time there wasn't a noticeable texture or fast different between gluten free and regular baked goods. My mom (who has celiac) is visiting so we decided to check out this new, all gluten free bakery in the neighborhood. Oooohhhh it's good. We ate three savory items there, the quiche was particularly good. Then we took two Spencer cakes home and WOW. They are awesome. The blueberry lemon was so good, not just "good for a gluten free pastry," good like I will definitely be stopping by to pick it up in the future. Super impressive. Spotted this bakery, driving down SW Canyon, across the street from Home Goods in Beaverton. I've been there a few times now and had several items, and they are pretty darn good. The only observation I might add is that the crust on some of the hand pies look a little over cooked, but they actually taste really good. Delicious baked goods and pastries that happen to be gluten free. Flavors are fantastic and pastries so flaky and buttery! I have been here a few times now and love that they have as much savory as sweet. The snuggle pies breakfast pastry was amazing as well as the hand pies. Also tried one of the danish flavors (lemon!) and it was yummy. Recently tried one of the Spencer cakes (similar to a cupcake that is iced rather than frosted) and it was great too! I walked into this place and it was awesome! Sweet and savory! I got a Snuggle Pie, which is jalapeño, cheese and sausage!! So flaky and good!! Although the service was great, it's unfortunate that the three items I ordered were not good. One of the miniature cakes was overly sweet and the other was mediocre. The fruit pastry I ordered was very hard and not tasty at all. To make things worse, all three items were overpriced. There are other bakeries that do not charge as much and their baked goods are delicious. read more

We just found out about Hold The Wheat in Beaverton Oregon and made the trip over today to check it out. You would never know that they were providing gluten free products after tasting their offerings. We have tried many GF products since we discovered our intolerance to gluten and this is by far the best place to be found. You would not know that the product was GF and the service is exceptional.
