Cute little bakery with an amazing selection of gluten free pastries (like they have just as many gluten free pastries as they do regular pastries). Friendly and quick service. I got a cappuccino, which was just okay, and a strawberry cheese danish. It was good but pretty cold, which really took away from the flavor and overall experience. However, I brought some of the danish home to air fry and it was SO good! I think if they work on their temperature control, their pastries would taste much better. I go through bouts where I just cannot get around well due to tissue damage. This week was one of those weeks and I wanted a bit of a naughty breakfast with a croissant sandwich - but something quality, not the drive through type. I have seen this spot come up before and had not heard of it or that it is a cute little place not far. Looks told me that it would be amazing when my order arrived and that was 50% accurate. I ate the sandwich, called the California Sunrise and I loved it, except the avocado. I am not sure which other flavor in the sandwich was not cooperating but when I removed the avocado it was far more delicious and usually I love that green fruit on everything. The marionberry scone looked incredible but somehow had so little flavor I just threw it out. I even tried a bit in different places legitimately confused. It tasted, honestly, like flour to the point where I was wondering if someone forgot to put sugar in the dough. It was very disappointing as I was really looking forward to that scone! read more

I'm embarrassed to admit I never knew this place existed, even though I frequent this shopping center regularly. We were looking for a birthday cake for my mom and my husband suggested this place. I am glad he knew it was there, and here I always thought I was the more observant one, but it turns out this time he was, and I am happy he was. When we saw they had Key Lime Pie on the menu, we knew we had to order it. My mom loves Key Lime Pie, and this one was far superior to any other she's had. It was beautifully decorated with whipped cream and lime slices. The pie was so delicious that it barely lasted a few days! While I didn't try any pastries myself, they all looked incredible. Just moved into the area and Bamford Bakeshop is a short walk away from my new place, so decided to check it out. I've already been here twice in 24 hours! Yesterday I picked up two chocolate chip cookies and a cupcake and everything was to die for, especially the cookies. Wow I am blown away by the cake I ordered for a baby shower last weekend. While it was a little expensive (not really much different than other bakery prices really) it was totally worth it! The cake was gorgeous when we picked it up but we added a few items to match our decor. The flavor and texture were amazing as well. All my guests loved it and remarked how good it was. I will definitely use Bamford Bakery for cakes in the future! One negative is that they are a little hard to find. They need some more signage. read more

don't order coffee here unless you are into milky beverages. their hot coffee beverages come in huge 16 oz. cups that are mostly flavored milk. a standard latte size should be 8 oz. with two shots of espresso. i'm sure the coffee would be great if i could actually taste the coffee :) read more

Was so happy to find this place! I didn't even know they were there (no storefront sign, just on the doors). Pretty small on the inside but super cute decor. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The food and pastries sooooo good! We ate everything before I remembered to take pictures! Found this hidden bakery across from where I live. I've been to this area many times and never tend to notice there was a little bakery here! It is next to Seasweets Poke & 7/11 on Millikan! Overall it's a cute, clean, little bakery shop. They have a varieties of pastries, cupcakes, treats to choose from. I got 3 cupcakes, one chocolate chip cookie, and a lavender latte. Overall, it is very mediocre. I didn't like the chocolate chip cookie. It was hard, dry and bland for me. The cupcakes were okay too. It was on a drier side, very subtle flavor, but it was not too sweet which I enjoyed. The coffee was very subtle as well, just some brew coffee with light lavender flavoring! The prices are reasonable which I'll return to since I live nearby when i'm craving for a sweet treat! read more

Sadly, we were so disappointed with this bakery. We walked in and bought a variety of cupcakes, most of which were inedible. The cupcakes were so dry (with the exception of part of the raspberry one) that we threw them away. Which is saying a lot, because we love our sweets around here! I'm a sucker for buttercream icing but the icing on these had zero flavor. I'm giving one star for the presentation (they looked delicious) and another for the fact that the shop was cute and clean and the service was friendly. I love to support small businesses but I hope that the owners read their reviews and maybe have their staff pay more attention to the quality of the products they are putting out each day. We'll come back to give them another shot another day to see if things might be different. read more

Just wow, we didn't know about this bakery until this weekend. Needed a sweet for a gathering and gave them a call. A dozen beautiful cupcakes later, including gluten free options, and we had what we needed. Really impressed with the customer service and the variety. Stopped by on our way through Scappoose and enjoyed a number of tasty treats. They have a big selection and a diverse array of sweets - it was hard to choose! We got the strawberry cheesecake bar, lemon cookie, pecan sticky bun, and mocha cupcake. All in all, we felt it was ok - nothing was out of this world, but it satisfied our sweet tooth. I ordered 2 kinds of rolls for our Thanksgiving dinner, because that's what I was requested to bring and I can't bake bread very well. As it turns out, my bread would have been preferable. I was going to return them and ask for a refund after the holiday, because they were inedible and our family went without rolls (no big whoop) but to be honest, I'm tired of getting sold bad goods at high prices and just taking it. This holiday embarrassment was unacceptable. $18 for 24 simple rolls-they should have been made of bread, and I could've gotten acceptable rolls from a grocery store. If they can't make a good product, they shouldn't sell it. What we got was so dry, it just crumbled when you tried to open them. They were not worth buttering. They were so bad that my family didn't even just politely choke them down, but advised me to return them. I'm not being nice and returning them, although I considered it; I'm posting this review in the hopes that this "bakery" stops charging people for bad product, because at this point I feel they are taking the consumer for a ride. I like to see small businesses succeed; I know it's tough. But if you're not good at it you simply shouldn't be in business. I had a scone here once; it was low-end, dry, too much shortening; a scone shouldn't actually taste like Crisco. I ordered a large drip coffee; they charged $3.50, did not provide half n half except those miniature plastic cups, and the coffee was BAD. Acidic; old; flavorless. (My 20 oz Americano at Starbucks only costs $3.25, and is made with 4 shots of espresso!) So this business is a hard no. Unless the product changes dramatically, I'd not recommend visiting. Sorry folks, the high school kids running the place during my 3 visits have been real nice but this is NOT a good bakery. See photo of mealy dry roll crumbles. read more

We want to love you, we love supporting local businesses and a bakery, my fave!! But time and time again it is just so hit and miss. One good thing, they finally stopped over-baking things, that is a big deal. Several great things, their donuts are super yummy and their Danish es are good. Bthe savory Danish es are extremely tasty!! Cookies, now that they aren't bakes to within an inch of thier life, the chocolate chip cookies are the bomb!! Day one or day two, they hold up. Would love some with nuts too! Or oatmeal chocolate chip... Go with it, your cookies are good!! How about mini cookies, so we could buy a box of 24 and then the kiddos can have them too, those big ones are great for us adults, but some smaller sized cookies would be a big seller!! Now to the mediocre, the croissants are not really croissants, I am not sure what they are bit these are the denses rolls, nyou can't even enjoy them dunked in coffee they are so dense. A real croissant is several ight layers that melt in your mouth upon each bite. Even Starbucks doesn't make a good croissant any more, it's like everyone just makes these weird rolls and tries to pass them off as croissants. I have a great idea, go onto the William Sanoma website and order their regular and chocolate frozen croissants and bake them off, then replicate (or just sell those ha ha! ( that is what a croissant is. But thanks for not over cooking what you do make. Your cupcakes seem to have gotten better but the vanilla (?) or the one under the Lemon frosting, dang that is a dense, ndry cake!! I keep hoping you all will taste test these things, not right after you cook them but like a day or two later, when your consumers are actually eating them. Dense, dense, dense. Add some pudding to your cake mix if you can't find a good, light cake, it does wonders! The sandwich bread, you are a bakery. Artisan bread just makes sense. Lastly, you all store everything out in the open air. Now it's beautiful don't get me wrong but forever I have thought, the stuff tends to be on the dense and dry side and then they store it in the open air, does not make sense. Why not glass covers over the items?!?! It would still keep everything beautiful but would keep items much more fresh. (and in Covid times, much more safe from flying particles) I hope that with my continued patronage of Bamfords, because we intend to continue buying things from here and continue tasting things and never giving up, that the few things I mentioned have some issues will get better, the things that are great stay so and those chocolate chip cookies continue to make me get fatter and fatter with happiness. I love visiting this place! Parking: Painless Dining in: can be tricky especially if it's busy but monday-friday it's typically calm. Restroom: clean cute and simple. Pastries: Yummy and flakey and they offer to warm them up. (I had the bearclaw) I feel like I'm missing out on the cinnamon rolls because they always seem to be the first item that sells out. Cupcakes: I had the butter finger, it was alright. I think the container they left them in made it a little stale. Mine could have just been older. Sandwich: Fresh everything, bacon had a crunchy/sweet flavor which makes it unique. Soups: I had the white bean soup. It was good and fresh the veggies weren't mushy. The broth was delish and had a little kick to it! Cakes: My cousin ordered a cake for Christmas and she said everyone was very impressed. Deals: You can get a sandwich, chips, drink, and pastry for $12.00 They rotate their menu often including their soup of the week. The only thing I could of think of to make this place better is to buy local or grow your fruits/veggies, use farm fresh eggs, bake your own bread for all the sandwhichs. Customize the sandwich sauces. Granted the prices would increase but it would take it to the next level. Overall im so glad they established this in scappoose it's a diamond place to dine especially since no other restaurant or bakery offers anything close to what they make. read more
