Red velvet, vanilla cupcake, with vanilla cream cheese frosting and sprinkles, coconut, toffee, Toasted Coconut Cream Cupcake

I don't think you can get a better cupcake in Portland, but please let me know if you can prove me wrong. These are absolutely divine and crave worthy. The cream cheese frosting is always perfectly sweetened with the most exquisite velvety melt in your mouth texture. My favorite is the toasted coconut toffee cupcake, hands-down one of the best things on earth from top to bottom. You've been warned: these are highly decadent and addictive. Protip: don't go too close to closing or they might be sold out of what you want.

I stopped by here after eating at Tanaka across the street and decided to try the $2.25 Toasted Coconut Cream Dot. I appreciate that they offer smaller versions of their normal-sized cupcakes called dots, which are not overly priced. Even though I'm not really a fan of shredded coconut, I chose this one since it's their bestseller. The top of the cupcake had some toffee and was covered in cream and coconut shreds. It had just the right amount of sweetness in my opinion.

Order: Boston Cream Dot; Lemon Curd Dot, Chocolate Fudge Dot; Toasted Coconut Pros: not overly priced and they offer small cupcakes called dots. They have your traditional flavors and some new ones. The star of the show was the toasted coconut for me. It was really really good. Cons: The Boston Cream was lost in flavor because it was overpowered by the dark chocolate frosting they chose to use. Additionally, the cream is placed on the outside instead of inside the cupcake, which I think contributed to me not being able to taste the custard. On the flip side, the lemon curd was super duper tart and that overpowered the cupcake. I actually did not finish this one.

Stumbled on Saint Cupcake walking around the area. It caught my wife's eye because it "looks so cute!" For me, it was the cupcakes. I'm a sucker for a good cupcake. Saint did not disappoint either. Everything from the environment, to the customer service and the food was awesome. We ended up with one larger cupcake and three mini ones. All of them were moist and flavorful. Sometimes mini cupcakes can be dry but not here! They also have ice creams and ice cream sandwiches. Definitely recommend.

I've heard their name so many times but have never seen or tried their wares until now. I had placed an order on Ubereats and it offered an additional order with them! I had been craving cake so why not. I genuinely thought all the hype was just hype and I admit defeat. These are DELICIOUS cupcakes! I ordered 3 to try: coconut cream, confetti with vanilla buttercream and chocolate with chocolate buttercream. Each one was absolutely amazing and it took days to get through them so they lasted. I am a huge frosting lover so these being piled high with that was so wonderful. It was so great that they came up on my Ubereats since I really am rarely near their location and I am not huge on dropping into a bakery, especially if I genuinely don't know how their products are.

we ordered a box of 6 cupcakes. red velvet (vegan) x 2, those were the last ones of red velvet in the store! I'm not vegan but the cupcakes did not disappoint. just right amount of moist and sweetness. toasted coconut was a recommendation from friends and family but personally it was a bit too sweet for me in the cream base just underneath the frosting with the toasted coconut. Surprisingly chocolate cupcake with fudge was PERFECT! lastly the chocolate buttercream chocolate cupcake was also on the more rich and decadent side. $3.75 for each of those "full size" and I believe the minis were $2.25-2.75. I loved my red velvet so I had to order them all in full size. Parking was a bit hard since it is all off street parking, first come first serve and use paid meter to avoid towing/fines. the location itself is on a corner and coming onto one way traffic so we did have to drive around a bit to find parking. The store itself also had a lot of merchandise for parties and birthdays. Their homemade popcorn and not currently in season but they did have homemade cookies too. Ice cream sandwiches also! Will definitely come back again when I have my chocolate and red velvet cupcake cravings!

Decent cupcakes. They only had two kinds left-chocolate chip or toasted coconut. Actual coconut is one of my favorite flavors in dessert so I opted for that one. Even though they were lacking in inventory, serendipitously I came during what I'll call a "dessert happy hour" in which the cupcakes were buy one get one free. This occurs between 4-5 daily. I will say that the cupcake cake part itself was a little plain, even for basic vanilla cake, although VERY moist and not extremely dense! A plus in my book! The frosting was delicious, a standard cream cheese frosting that was more creamy than sweet (which doesn't happen often), covered with tons of toasted coconut. What I didn't like about the cupcake as a whole was the frosting to cake ratio. There was easily two times more frosting than cake which made it hard to consume because it was so top heavy. Perhaps next time I'd try the smaller size cupcakes they look a little more proportional in terms of frosting vs cake, and there are more flavors to try without feeling too gluttonous. Will repost upon next visit.

Cupcakes are one of those desserts which are very difficult to stand out. So many places simply take the philosophy of throwing enough crap on top of a cupcake or jamming it full of filling in hopes that it will cover up a mediocre taste. But if you don't have a good cupcake, it doesn't matter what you put inside or on top of it. Saint Cupcake takes a minimalistic approach to these treats. Let me just tell you that their attention to detail on making the cupcake as moist and flavorful as possible really pays off. Granted, they do have some amazing frosting and toppings. We ordered 48 mini cupcakes for a birthday party with varying flavors and they were all a huge hit! The store was easy to deal with and the cupcakes were fresh and ready for pick up at the time they said they would be. This is definitely a cupcake heaven I would recommend to everyone.

Walking in less than an hour before closing, we were surprised to see most of the items still in stock! We ended up picking four things to try: Vanilla Bean Kouign Amann ($7) - This pasty has a sweet yet salty exterior that's complementary in flavor rather than clashing. It's accentuated with a crunchy glazed and caramelized sugar layer that's on the sweeter side. The interior is interesting. There's a cavernous gap right in the center that's filled with a sickly sweet melted sugar syrup. It's unpleasantly sweet and very cloying. The puffed and filled area is large enough that it compresses the other layers so the kouign amann is dense. I've never had a kouign amann quite this sweet before. (3/5) Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Thyme ($5.50) - This cake is so moist and rich, thick and dense, fatty and rich, that it feels like I"m eating a slab of butter. I'm sure it has just as many calories too! It's quite sweet, although not nearly to the level of the kouign amann. Overall, it's just a really rich and decadent cake. (4/5) Blueberry + Vanilla Cream Brioche Donut w/ Earl Grey ($6) - The top of the pastry is dressed with a cream that has an unmistakably strong bergomot earl grey taste. I wish there was way more cream - there's essentially only a dab on top! The rest of the donut is filled with a custardy light blueberry and vanilla jam. It's not too sweet and has an excellent high quality blueberry fragrance, creating an exceptionally strong blueberry taste. The jam is not too thick and is somewhat syrupy from sugar. The donut itself is really soft and extremely airy. It's the fluffiest donut I've eaten in a long time. (5/5) Raspberry Rose Cruffin ($8.50) - This pastry has some fun dehydrated raspberries sprinkled right on top of a light and fluffy cream that's not too sweet. The cruffin base is buttery in taste and great lamination even when filled with the custard and rose/raspberry cream. This is a heavy cruffin that's very filling. (5/5) Twisted Croissant certainly does some some really delectable treats. It's one of my favorite bakeries in Portland!

I'm not sure that I can justify spending $7 to $12 on a single pastry. This will have to be my special occasion bakery, I suppose. Additionally, I had a less than pleasant exchange with one of the employees. It kind of caught me off guard because that has never happened before. Maybe she was just having a rough day.

I particularly recommend their chocolate, strawberry shortcake, and key lime pies. S'mores is also a solid choice. All of their pies have a great crust: flakey, thick, and excellent when dipped in coffee. I wasn't fond of the whiskey peach because it had a strong whiskey flavor, but this pie would be great for whiskey-lovers. Although the prices are pretty high, the pies are so good, and they are definitely worth trying! All of the workers are very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant has plenty of seating. We also bought a couple of whole pies to take home. The crust has a perfectly crisp bottom, while the fruit filling is thick and jam-like rather than watery. It's sweet but not overly sweet, with that wonderful homemade taste. Definitely one of the best pies I've ever had in Oregon! The pies are a little pricey, but the quality and flavor make them well worth it.
