For work, I've been sent to Jacksonville to open up a new site. One morning, I found myself craving a bagel breakfast sandwich. Uber eats listed this location, and having jalapeño bagel flavors always entices me to try. Uber eats delivered to my office fairly quickly, and made my morning to be able to kick back, relax and enjoy a sandwich. Tried two bagels from this place and only one of them was tasty. Service was great, we got a couple bagels to go. The shop is small and seems reasonably decorated but we didn't stay for long. We tried one asiago bagel with jalapeno cream cheese, and this bagel was awesome. I do wish the bagel itself was thicker and more fluffy, but the cream cheese and the asiago flavor made it all taste great. However, on the other end, we got a garlic bagel with egg and cheese, and this was sadly lacking. The flavor of the bagel didnt come through well, and the egg and cheese just didnt add a whole lot. I felt as though this was something I could've whipped together at home. Maybe adding cream cheese or a stronger cheese would've helped? Not sure. read more

When we went to this restaurant last month it looked in disrepair, and not just the front entrance. The employee (owner?) said that someone had driven their car into the front of the restaurant. There were cease and desist notices on the front door for lack of permitting. The food was ok. I had a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. It was good, but nothing to write home about. My husband had pancakes and eggs, which he claims was average. Lastly, there is Christian music blasting into the dining room, which could be a turnoff for non-Christians, but I suppose the name is Holey Moley, so maybe it goes with the territory. The flavor of the overall sandwich was good. There were just some aspects lacking... One thing I don't appreciate is hidden fees. I don't recall seeing anything about up charge for choice of bagel or cream cheese choice but there sure was... The person who took our order was lackluster, I'm not sure if it was his confusion on how to operate the register or just a bad day but felt like we were inconveniencing him by being there. Stopped in for a quick lunch. You walk in and can see the bagel display right away. Then you order at the counter and they bring out the order to you. I was able to order right away. Got an Asiago everything bagel ( two of my favorites in one! ) with cream cheese and a fountain drink. It came out to $8.05 which I felt was expensive. The bagel came out warm with the cream cheese already on. The cream cheese was thicker than the half of the bagel. Which isn't my favorite but it was tasty. The bagel was soft and chewy even lightly toasted. The inside is pretty sparse with decorations and there was an empty deli case and a beverage case that was out if order. It seemed clean in the dining area and the open kitchen area. It was good but just be aware it was a bit pricy. read more

I hate, no, strongly dislike having to get up early to do software releases, especially on an empty stomach. Usually the boss will bring in donuts and bagels from a well-known chain but this doesn't happen for beta releases. I should though haha. Both me and my manager were hungry and he asked me if I was going to order break fast (his exact words) and from where. I wasn't immediately sure so after scrolling UberEats I saw a suggestion for this business. I literally said, "I can order delivery from Holey Moley? I've been hearing about them for at least 2 years!" This was my chance. We both got a bagel sandwich. I got the ham, egg, and smoked gouda cheese on a blueberry bagel while he got a sausage, egg, and cheddar cheese on a jalapeno asiago bagel. I really liked my bagel! That was the softest, chewiest, bagel I've ever had. He said that his was alright and that it didn't have enough seasoning for his palate since it is so sophisticated haha. Growing up in New Jersey, I've been to many bagel shops and have had lots of bagels in my life. Holey Moley Bagel Shop was very disappointing. Their bagels are just okay, nothing special. Definitely nowhere near as good as a NY/NJ style bagel. They do not seem to function as a typical bagel shop either. When I order a bagel with cream cheese, I expect to be asked if I want the bagel toasted. Then to have the cream cheese put on the bagel. They did not so that. Instead they gave us cream cheese on the side and charged us way too much for enough cream cheese for half a bagel. This is just unacceptable. The service was spotty at best. It seemed like their employees were not trained well. I will not be back to Holey Moley. read more

Recently opened and last I visited last week, was told that they were still in soft opening phase. So on my 1st visit, I ordered some breakfast items as well as any available bagels they had in store. Fast forward another week, and it looks like they got more stuff in place. I say give them another 2 weeks or so and they should be fully operational. If you some Uglies, aka Apple Fritters, theirs are pretty good...where an Uglies never tasted so Pretty. The Lox bagel was disappointing, not enough cream cheese and not a lot of Lox. Probably wouldn't get this again for the price. I was excited to try this place and their rainbow bagels. I ordered an Asiago bagel with "garlic and herb" cream cheese and a rainbow bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. The Asiago bagel was disappointing to say the least. Their "garlic and herb" cream cheese is just plain cream cheese with some seasoning. And the rainbow bagel was disappointing because it was such a chore to chew. I'm not sure if it was just underproved or if their bagels are just like that, but they were not pleasant. My partner also disliked how the restaurant looked when we picked up our food. It was a little dark and dirty inside. Overall, Holey Moley offered a below average experience at an average price. We were super excited to try the new bagel place in the neighborhood so we came early Saturday morning. From initial looks, it could be a hidden gem nestled in the shopping center behind the McDonalds. First actual impressions were not that great. The decor made the place feel old, dirty and run down. The big sticker on the table made me think there was a plate of food there. They offer about 10 different sandwiches which are all very similar to another. I really wanted a bagel but their supply was pretty low for a Saturday morning and I didn't notice they even carried a whole wheat/oat/sesame seed option. So I chose to get a ham, egg and cheese on a croissant and my boyfriend got a bacon egg and cheese plain bagel and we split some home fries. My croissant was burnt and I really didn't like that. The potatoes are cut so small you can't even use a plastic fork to eat them. And the seasoning on them wasn't bad but it also wasn't great and they were room temp, not hot or fresh. We were also disappointed that they didn't really offer more coffee drinks. Maybe once they get on their feet and into the swing of things they could consider offering espresso drinks. The customer service was great and they were very friendly. But I don't think we will be back soon. I hope they take this feedback and can work on being a great place for breakfast in the neighborhood. I think the potential is there. I'd also recommend considering narrowing down their sandwich menu to just like 5 that they can really master and are unique from one another. read more

My husband and I came to this shop in the summer last year l, and we were not impressed. Seemed a little dirty and not well kept. The food was just ok. Our family that are locals told us that they are recently under new management so we decided to give it another try. I am a huge bagel fan and I must say they have redeemed themselves! My daughter had a fruity pebble waffle that smelled like cake. I was able to get a little bite lol and loved it. My son ordered the Holey Smokes. The sausage was mildly spiced. He ate the whole thing. My husband had the Giulia. From the prosciutto to the arugula, it all tasted so fresh. And of course I ordered the Lox with chive and onion cream cheese. The salmon was very good and fresh. All the ingredients were perfectly balanced. I had never had one with cucumber and was a little skeptical but honestly it was just perfect. This place has a friendly staff and a clean and tidy ambience. We will definitely be back! Bravo on an impeccable and delicious bagel shop! We can't wait to go back! read more

This bagel shop is tasty and reasonably priced! The man who took my order was very sweet and he carried my food directly to me instead of having me walk up which I thought was sweet. I got the 3 pancake platter and a lox bagel. The pancakes were perfect and syrup was provided. I cannot say anything about the service and ambiance because I always order from here thru Uber Eats. I am glad I have this place a try. I order from here when I am at work. I was jumping with joy when I found out they have the Pork Roll! I had their sandwiches either in a bagel or the roll.
