It was pretty busy when I arrived and service was quick! I ordered the Ube bagel with Ube schmear and a salt bagel with cheddar bacon chive schmear. The fella who took my order communicated the salt bagel would be heavy on the salt and I appreciated it. They are pleasantly heavy handed with the schmear. My wife and I had high hopes going into this place. We love bagels and love breakfast sandwiches so it was a win win. I understand they could have been low staffed or had new workers learning but it took just over 30 minutes for us to get our sandwiches. Granted it was very busy when we were there but it seemed as if there were lots of mistakes happening with the orders in front of us. The inside of this place and the bathrooms weren't very clean in my opinion. We finally got our food and sat down to eat. First time trying Bagels R US and it was great! The staff was super kind and helpful as we navigated the extensive menu. While I initially went in with a craving for a bagel I was distracted by a sign that said they had french toast (and I couldn't resist the urge) especially after the young lady at the register confirmed that it was good - and she was right! I honestly wasn't expecting a place that specializes in bagels to serve up a really good french toast but I was proven wrong. It was soooo good and the portions were huge! The french toast also came with your choice of a side of hash browns or home fries. I chose the home fries and added cheese on top (although I wouldn't do that again since the cheese on top was placed sparingly and didn't melt all the way. I think they used sliced cheese instead of shredded and I think they should definitely use shredded moving forward) but the potatoes were seasoned so that helped save it. My friend got the steak and egg bagel and I tried the creme cheese she picked and I can't remember the exact flavor but it was a garlic base and was super good! When I arrived around 8 most of the bagels were gone but they still had a few left, my suggestions would be to get there early so you get more of a variety. It seems one they are sold out that's it. They sent him away with part of the order, just bagels- none of the eggs or bacon or omelettes. Came home and we are ready to go to an event. Finding great bagels in Jax has been quite the challenge. I had high hopes for Bagels R Us but unfortunately, I was disappointed. I planned on picking up bagels one weekend while I had family in town. I arrived at Bagels R Us, walked right in and was directed to a kiosk for ordering. It was super easy and quick to place my order and it was ready within minutes. So far, so good. When I arrived back home, I started prepping bagels and cream cheese for everyone. The bagels were stale and some even too hard to eat. I tried toasting some to make them a bit more palatable which helped some. I ended up throwing about half the dozen out later in the day since no one was going to eat them. On a positive note, the flavored cream cheese was delicious. While the bagels are good, they need a new toaster. Asked for my bagel to be run through the toaster twice. When I got it, it looked as if it hadn't been toasted at all. On Christmas Eve this place was open and taking orders! I went here and picked up two dozen assorted bagels and called the day before I arrived and placed my orders. I told my family (of 15 people total) that I would provide breakfast for all of them and what easy way to do that by ordering an array of bagels! They have all kids of flavors such as: poppyseed, everything, plain, Asiago, cheddar and jalapeño, cinnamon raisin and etc. I also grabbed a few tubs of freshly made cream cheese. They have an assortment from: plain, strawberry, veggie, honey nut, cookies and cream, peppermint bark and etc . I ordered the plain, strawberry and peppermint bark. I also ordered three bagels with bacon egg and cheese for the guys in my family who need some more substance aka meat in their breakfast meal. The bagels were a great hit! I managed to feed 15 adults, some teenagers and toddlers by ordering two dozen bagels and assortment of cream cheeses and spent less than $35 and I think that's a steel in comparison of how many people I had to feed.
