What a perfect combination,, made better by putting the lime curd on every pancake, not just the top one. And loaded with blueberries! Came with eggs and bacon or sausage. Our server Heather said she preferred the bacon, and I'd go for it next time. I appreciated the homemade sausage but it was a little too sweet for us. Husband enjoyed his crawfish and andouille omelet. English muffin was under-toasted. Heather put it through again and it was better. We used to go to this chain in Texas all the time and it was lovely there- and always busy, from 7 till 11 it was packed. . This location, however, was really different. To start there's a whole lot more outdoor seating than there is indoor seating. Well inherently that's not a problem. I just found it unique. The staff was extremely nice at least our waitress was and overall no problem with the actual service we received. It was really well decorated. In fact, I would say arguably better decorated than some of the other locations for this particular chain that we have gone to. But the reason that it's only getting two stars instead of my typical five is the food. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and frankly when you're in the south that's something that should be a staple- this was a complete mess. There was either too much salt or too much pepper or maybe both? Which really left a lackluster taste I didn't even get through the first half of one of my biscuits. Biscuits seemed standard frozen biscuit fair for a breakfast establishment, unfortunately. And it's a vast contrast to some of the other places that used to be in Jacksonville or still are like Cracker Barrel or Village Inn- heck even Famos Amos has/had better biscuits and gravy. But for the fact that I didn't put anything on my eggs, which were delicious. I shouldn't be leaving this place with heartburn, considering I had a milk based gravy. The former city grits now bacon Gouda grits were OK but also very salty. Maybe too much bacon grease in it? I'm not sure. My partner says that his Benedict a shrimp Benedict something that's supposed to be there special for the season, was extremely sweet and the cherry tomatoes that he got were the most savory thing on his dish and he had shrimp Benedict with a side of cheese grits. There shouldn't really have been anything sweet in that dish, except maybe the hollandaise sauce. We were hoping to rekindle a classic taste from a familiar chain from our previous residence and enjoy brunch this morning. Maybe it was an off day for this particular location and if that's the case OK. However, due to this experience, we may not actually come back here. Paying $73 including tip for food that I can make better at home is not really my idea of a great breakfast. Kids oj was over $4. Plus $8 for her food. She took three bites and ate the bacon. Very disappointing experience. We sat at the bar, and the bartender seemed completely disinterested, like they were just going through the motions instead of providing any kind of welcoming service. It made the whole experience feel cold and uninviting. The food was just average at best... nothing memorable and definitely not worth the price. Unfortunately, this was a disappointing brunch experience. We sat at the bar, and the bartender/server came across like he didn't want to be there, which made the service feel unwelcoming from the start. The food was just mid at best. The fruit was on the overripe, mushy side, and nothing we ordered really stood out or felt worth the price. Me and my girlfriend wanted Brunch so we stopped by for food. There was plenty of seating inside. We were able to get a table right away. For some reason, we had flies inside near our table. I ordered a Peach Cobbler French Toast, Scrambled Eggs and Bacon. It took a little longer than usual to get the Tito's Strawberry Lemonade. The Peach Cobbler French Toast was really good. I'm writing to share a complaint about my experience at the Another Broken Egg Cafe in Deerwood, Jacksonville, Florida. I ordered the non-alcoholic Raspberry White Chocolate Cold Brew, expecting it to look and be presented reasonably close to the menu description. Unfortunately, what I received was very disappointing. There was no raspberry topping on the drink, the jam was chaotically smeared across the top of the mug, and there was almost no cream. The presentation honestly made the drink look as though someone had already started drinking it before it was served to me. I understand that presentation can vary, but this was far below what I would expect from a restaurant and was noticeably different from how the drink is represented on the menu. The service was impeccable. The waitress, the hostess and everyone else we came in contact with were absolutely great. The eggs and bacon were good, they were your standard eggs and bacon. The hash browns were phenomenal they tasted just like french fries I couldn't get enough! We also ordered this amazingly delicious peppermint mocha coffee, so good we had to another. Another Broken Egg is probably the last of the brunch spots we've had the opportunity to try here in Jax, and it was great! While everyone has their opinions on what should be included in omelets, toppings for waffles and pancakes, and everything else regarding brunch, we enjoyed our meal! After checking out lights of st Augustine a night before we wanted to have brunch before starting to drive back to our destination. We found this cafe nearby and it really stood up to the reviews. We had the skinny omelet and tiramisu French toast with beignets. The seasonal fruits we got with the omelet were delicious ! I have never had that sweet blackberry in my LIFE. It didn't taste artificial or sugary it was as natural as it could be and fresh. The service was really good and they kept fulfilling my kids demands without any frustration. This was our 1st time here and were excited to try it. Justin waited on 5 of us 6-6-2026. The food wasn't hot (barely warm & some tepid) & the English muffins were hard and not chewable. Our dirty plates stayed on the table and water/ drinks weren't refilled. Our checks were placed on the end of the table in a stack so we could figure out which check was who's. He didn't offer extra napkins prior to eating (I asked for them) nor to go boxes after eating. One of us had to ask for a to go box and he placed it on the end of the table instead of giving it to the person that asked for it. He acted like he was above waiting on us, was very unprofessional and unfriendly. He didn't smile at all. I thoroughly enjoyed my scrambler as it was mixed with eggs, chorizo, and cheese. Toppings on the side included, salsa, and guacamole, which gave it the perfect flavors! my girlfriends omelette was folded perfectly and extremely tasty as well. A couple of weeks ago I had a dish which included asparagus. the asparagus was totally inedible! Three of the six stalks were exactly the consistency of wooden chopsticks, completely un-chewable; the other three were extremely thin and were like shredded strips of thin wood fiber when chewed and I was unable to swallow them. I get it, things happen in the kitchen..which should be caught nonetheless, I have worked in a restaurant kitchen myself. My greatest complaint is that when I finished the rest of the dish, it was fine,, after all, it's hard to destroy poached eggs, ham, and toast,, *** I pointed out the un-eaten asparagus to the waitress; I was abe to see into the kitchen while she pointed out the problem to the chef,, then nothing!!! I didn't necessarily expect to be comped for the expensive dish.. but I did expect some kind of recognition.. like maybe an apology!! Anyway, at these prices I expect a more professional experience. I routinely take out of town guests there. In the future I'll go to a local more mom and pop place in town. read more
