Really nice Holiday Inn the staff supper nice and very clean. It is nestled in the trees with a mountain behind it. There's a creek that runs along the side. Only one way in one way out. Our daughter always makes our reservations for us. We are a platinum elite, so she just put us in for a standard room. It could be a king or two queens,when we walked in the room we had two queens and bunkbeds. We went back up to the desk and told the guys we did not need a room that big for just the two of us. That's fine they didn't need it. Well if you do call me. We went into Durango just to look around and he called us. He had a family who needed a big room so he put us into a King suite. Which was very nice. So we ate at the Gray Copper Tavern there on property. Food was pretty good. read more

Staying here on a Monday. It's not as busy as my Friday stay. I booked a standard king and was put in a room with 2beds. My bedside lamp plugs to charge my phone doesn't work at all....so I had to disconnect the clock and pull out the side table. Then I opened the side table drawer and found filthy dirty stuff in there. Why is this not cleaned out? Room only has decaffeinated tea and coffee....who drinks decaffeinated stuff...nobody! I went downstairs to get a burger and a beer and there's one lady who is super busy tending the bar and the whole entire dining room area. Don't ask me why they don't have a waitress also because this lady was running around an all over the place.... she was taking the orders making the drinks serving people.lastly the carpets and elevators need cleaning. read more

Heck no to the fullest. This is no traditional IHG business, this is nothing more than a typical Motel 6. Where to start... Random charges! We all love those. So paid parking is a thing here for some reason that I have only experienced at this place. $10 bucks a night per vehicle. The heck is that? Free breakfast doesn't exist, it's also, $10 bucks a day, per person. Cleanliness was a joke for my room.... Had hair in various of places in the shower, and my bathroom towels smelled like a wet dog, even requesting new towels had the same result. The WiFi is subpar, but that is a given. Hotel staff seemed very unfriendly each time we crossed paths like I was some sort of burden to them. Doing your job must be so hard you can't even crack a smile. So yeah that sums it up. The pool was closed(not surprised considering everything else during my visit). I do not recommend this place. Honestly if it was cheap.. yeah I'd come back, you get what you pay for except here. This place is just a poser with the IHG title and nothing more. The random charges honestly made my blood boil considering the hundreds of hotels I have gone too, never had something like that. I wish a review would have mentioned something like this but it is what it is and lesson learned for good ol Durango. read more

Absolutely loved our stay there! First of all, a big shout out to Helena at the front desk. She went above and beyond to make sure we were properly attended to. I was traveling with my 93-year-old dad and she made sure we had a room that would accommodate him. She even called me before we arrived to confirm what kind of room we needed. Super duper great service. The room was nice and clean. Everything was great. Nice and quiet, too. There's a really good restaurant on the premises, Burger Theory. I highly recommend it! It's a five-minute walk to the river where you can walk along a nice path on the east side of the river. There's also a huge dog park that's on the southwest side of the river. You can just walk east of the hotel out of the parking lot and you'll pretty much be in the dog park. You can't go wrong by staying here. read more

BED BUGS- DO NOT STAY HERE! I was staying at this hotel last weekend on a work trip with a coworker. We woke up at 1:00am to bug bites all over our body, and bugs crawling all over the bed. We went down to the lobby to inform the receptionist, and she came to our room and confirmed the bugs. They transferred us to the hotel across the street but i woke up the next day with new bites on my stomach that were not there before... The hotel manager Brandon Mills was telling us he was not going to comp our rooms, and told us we were probably the ones who brought the bed bugs, which is a ridiculous statement. They washed our clothes but it took 15+ hours to get our items back, during which time we had NOTHING to wear besides the pajamas we were in, and we were on a work trip setting up a wedding!! When we came to retrieve our items at 11:00 at night, the non washed items were piled atop the washed items thereby encouraging the spread of the infestation back into our clothes. And while they had our items for those 15+ hours our clothes were probably just sitting in their laundry room amongst their other clean laundry. Im wondering what in the world their protocol is for stopping the spread because it seems like they don't have one. The manager Brandon was not taking this issue seriously at all. This issue has caused my mental and physical distress, on top of $500+ worth of damaged items from the' washing / drying our clothes at the hotel. He finally agreed to comp the rooms but I've not seen any compensation for my damaged items, after being told several times we would be compensated. Every time we tried to talk to someone at the front desk of the hotel they had no idea of this ongoing issue of bed bugs we had been dealing with. How was nobody informed of this issue!!? The manager Brandon treated us like absolute shit, and had zero hospitality besides transferring us to a new room (the bare minimum). This place is absolutely awful. Our hotel room was spacious for 2 adults, a child, and a small cocker spaniel. It was nice that it was dog friendly - but people's dogs were barking around the clock. We booked through hotels.com and the price they gave me versus what I paid online were two different prices. There was a parking fee of $25 a day I didn't know of. The location is great, you could walk in to downtown or it's a very quick drive. We'd recommend staying there. read more

But tonight I am sitting in my room at this hotel, kicked back in my chair watching some tv with the fireplace kicking out some heat. Yes! A fireplace. Sure it's one of those fake ones but it's the most relaxed I have felt in a room in a long time. That's worth an extra star to me. There is a pool and hot tub which stay open later than most. The Burger Theroy restaurant and bar downstairs was lively and busy for a Wednesday night. The hotel is located away from the main crowd of Durango making it quiet and relaxing. In all, I am enjoying just being here which is something I don't usually say. read more

It is about a 10 minute walk to downtown which is not bad and much easier than finding parking. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. I had family coming to town so suggested this place because it was pretty new and had a restaurant attached. Unfortunately they have loud music playing outside of their restaurant pretty late into the evening, even in the middle of winter when no one was on the patio. We stayed for a week here for my boyfriend's birthday. We had a phenomenal time exploring all the sites and visiting family nearby. We had impeccable service during our stay. Specifically Jeff Lyman gave us great recommendations of great foods atmosphere, hiking, etc. he was insanely well versed in the area and much of the area even further around downtown Durango. Our room was on the fourth floor with a balcony, it has its own living room area when you walk in, a mini fridge, Keurig, and a microwave. The balcony has an amazing view and we couldn't ask for a more comfortable stay. The buffet breakfast is priced beautifully at $10 a person and has everything you need for a well balanced breakfast. To say this hotel is dog friendly is an understatement, the dog park steak is phenomenal, and all the rooms have what appear to be luxury vinyl which is much better than carpet in dog friendly hotels. I'd say majority of people who stayed here did have dogs, which was awesome. Would highly recommend staying here, it's CLEAN and very inviting. If you're not familiar with the sec Oscar's is the best for breakfast, be sure to add your name to the waitlist ahead of time! It gets busy but sooooo worth it. read more

If you consider where you are staying, meaning yes, it's a Holiday Inn, and don't expect too much in the way of luxuries, you will enjoy it here. Its just about a mile down from the main shopping area of downtown Durango. Uber will cost you about $10, or they have a shuttle you can take that you just book easily with the hotel. The hotel runs their shuttle all day and into the evening until around 11pm. After that, you are stuck with Uber. You can tell the hotel was recently built and it's pretty clean. Our room had a jacuzzi tub in it, which was awesome! I would also like to mention the horrible experience we had while trying to dine at the Burger Theory inside of the hotel. After 40 minutes of zero service, we had enough and left without eating. The hotel overheard our complaints and offered to credit us additional hotel points. That was nice. First the good stuff... hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. And on the negative side... our door was broken. Hard to open and needed to be slammed shut. I called the front desk to report. They said they would send a maintenance person to fix it and no one came. . That was three days ago. The bathroom smells of cigarette smoke, the hot tub is broken. Very dog friendly, good staff. Traveling with pets can be stressful, but the hotel was very accommodating. There is a dog park behind the property, where are your dogs can run unleashed. Not the most luxurious hotel, beds were a bit hard, but it is clean, comfortable and excellent to travel with pets. Lots of other guests had dogs too, so everyone seemed very understanding when we would encounter in the hallway or elevators. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. My child had fallen in town earlier in the day, and the front desk employees were very kind, and got him an ice pack, plus extra ziploc bags for ice overnight. It's also very convenient that the Burger Theory restaurant is on property, for breakfast lunch and dinner. read more

The only down was the restaurant. While it was not bad, it also was not noteworthy. BUT, the staff made us feel so welcome. We told Jennifer and the other clerk (I do not recall her name) about it being our anniversary and when we got up the next morning, we had a card that Jennifer had decorated waiting for us under the door. Talk about getting spoiled. We were so happy to see them again after our train ride to be able to thank them personally. The room was pleasant and welcoming, the bed was comfortable and bathroom was quite nice. I'd like to come back and ride the train in the fall and I would stay here gladly. read more

This Holiday Inn looked new from the outside and also on the inside. There was plenty of parking outside and I didn't have a problem finding parking. The lobby looked nice and one of the nicer (if not nicest) Holiday Inn hotels I had ever been to. The staff were nice and friendly and checking in was easy. I only stayed here for one night. My room had a king-sized bed, a flat-screen TV, a refrigerator and free wifi. It came with other stuff as well that would normally come with a hotel like and iron and ironing board. I don't think the walls were paper-thin as I didn't hear any noise from any room next to mine. It could have been there was nobody next to me. The bed was comfortable for the few hours I slept. There was a restaurant next to this hotel but I didn't try it out. I thought this was a great hotel to stay at if you're in the area. read more

This is a very nice Holiday Inn and Suites. Towards the end of our epic road trip this year we decided to add a state to our itinerary. Durango was the city in Colorado that made the most sense so I searched the IHG website and booked us a room here. The drive into Durango was beautiful. That may not have anything to do with the hotel, but it's worth mentioning. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by two of the most friendly employees I've ever encountered in a hotel. I wish I could remember their names, but it started our visit off right and that theme continued through our stay. The lobby of this hotel was much larger, and more well appointed than others we've visited. There were several couches, chairs and televisions where you could relax and people watch if that's your sort of thing. Our room was a suite and it was very nice. I'd recommend it if you're staying several days. The bedroom area was separated by a wall from the living/dining area rather than a door which was a good use of the limited space.The living area was large enough that my kids were able to play in that area without cluttering up the bedroom with toys. Another perk of this hotel was the pool area. It is indoors and heated so you can enjoy it despite the temperature outside. There is one outlet near the hot tub for charging your devices, but it does not offer a good view of the pool. If you want to watch Netflix while your kids play and still have some peripheral view of them, charge before you arrive. The attached restaurant is decent, but I would head off site if you want a great meal. We dined there once and it was average and not memorable. I wish we had stayed here more than a day, but I highly recommend this Holiday Inn. read more

Stayed here too many times to count. Ten or fifteen minute drive to the airport and free wifi. Coffee and tea station downstairs 24/7. Hot cookies sometimes but lately we've missed out. Feel like it was a magical cookie mirage that has since been a figment of my imagination. Ample parking outside. Can't imagine it ever filling up. Bike parking too if you're here to exercise AND see the sights. Not far from downtown, I walk into town often and it's a nice ten minute trek. Pretty much check in. Upstairs. Directly outside. Or inside for breakfast. Bar has some local beer and liquor too. Breakfast has always been nice. Sometimes quicker than other but that depends on the server. Had dinner once and that pizza wasn't bad. Rest of my coworkers said it was only ok pasta/steak. Rooms are clean. Fridge. Microwave. Single bed sometimes the double. I've had the sweet upstairs too with the fireplace. That's a nice room but more space than actual room. Can stretch out and do activities though. Bathroom is smaller than other Holiday Inns. Shower clean and with fair water pressure. Desk in room and computer chair to sit on. No extra couch or settee. read more

We booked and paid for a non refundable room. When we arrived the clerk, Kenny, sat on his chair looking disheveled and started clicking on the computer with both legs shaking nervously. He told us they had no rooms available. We provided our confirmation number and he didn't seem to care. We asked for a refund and he said he couldn't help and we would have to call the third party vendor we booked the reservation through. We asked for some documentation to prove there were no rooms available and he said he couldn't provide anything. There was no manager on site to assist. We were told she would be back in thirty minutes. I advised Kenny there were three different styles of rooms available on the site to book and they showed as available. Again he didn't seem to care. My husband and I dropped our suitcases and went to their business center right next to the registration desk. Three people came in after us, all registered with third parties and were given rooms. When the assistant manager showed up she proceeded to talk to various people at the counter and on the phone and repeatedly said how embarrassing it was for her (for all of the things they were messing up). One was a call because they couldn't figure out what room they sent someone to. Another was if there was anyone in another room on the second floor. Another was for a key that wouldn't function. She was talking so loudly that I know the customers full name and he was in room 308. She eventually walked over to talk to us as we were finalizing a new reservation for s hotel across the street with Hotels.com. She started with how embarrassing it was for the issue. I responded by telling her that seems to be a trend here this evening. I told her this was our anniversary and we now had missed our dinner reservation. She said there were lots of learning opportunities for her team following issues from tonight. I agreed. As we were leaving she had a smirk on her face and sarcastically said "have a nice night". This was horrific customer service. The fact they put three people behind us in line into rooms is deplorable. They all booked through a third party vendor. If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. Also their internet was not functioning. They had half of the entry torn up for construction. There was no safe access from the far parking lot to the front door without walking though torn up concrete, exposed pipes and tripping hazards. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Arizona. Typical Holiday Inn Express. If you've stayed at these, you know what to expect, which is why we chose to stay here. The beds were comfy enough, there was wifi , a fridge, coffee pot, etc. My complaint was about the laundry facilities. First, they only have 2 washers and 2 dryers for the entire hotel. Really? And then one of the washers was out of order. So I stopped by the front desk to get quarters for the machine, but the woman at the desk wouldn't give me any. She SAID she didn't have enough, but I'm not sure I believed her after I heard her lie to another customer on the phone. Besides, if they have laundry facilities that require change, shouldn't they keep enough on hand to meet their customers needs? Also, the restaurant at the hotel, Sports News, was mediocre at best, and the service was slow. read more

Free coffee in the lobby is good so would it kill them to offer a danish or something? Guess the attached restaurant is trying to make a go of it. This place has some of the worst customer service that I have experienced in a long time starting with a check-in clerk who thinks he is overworked and shouldn't have to be courteous to customers. I booked the place due to its high rating on Yelp and other sites. The ratings were certainly wrong on many counts. First, it is not a NEW or recently new motel. It's a typically dingy, rundown motel from a motel chain that is well on its way to extinction and this one is no exception. Bad bed mattresses, unclean bathrooms, dogs everywhere(love dogs and i occasionally travel with mine), all topped off with discourteous employees makes this place a no go. And last but not least, the stairwell to the west end parking lot...one could not have designed intentionally a stairwell more guaranteed to cause a customer to fall down them than those. Wide, tall, and dark with exposed pipes on the sides. Customers best beware if you use these stairwells. They are very dangerous, especially, if you are carrying stuff in both hands. read more

Donna is amazing! Best front desk clerk I've ever come across. She gave us a warm welcome in with a big smile. She knew exactly what to suggest to make us feel at home. She knew I was in from a dentist appointment & suggested the hot tub hours to help me decompress from my stressful appointment. She also recommended some of her favorite items from the restaurant on site to my boyfriend and suggested where we can find some even softer food for myself. I also wanted to mention that all the staff that was his hotel were very polite and helpful, very welcoming. Our last day in Colorado consisted of staying in Durango. I recently made a great offer on Priceline and got this hotel. I was very pleased with this hotel. You can tell it was a newer hotel as everything inside was modern and had that oh ah feeling. The rooms are wonderful (at least the one I stayed in was) with an equipped living area, mini fridge, lavish bathroom and great bedroom. The staff members were very pleasant and nice. We took advantage of their free shuttle van into town (this location is slightly less than a mile away from the downtown area) to be dropped off at the Train gauge. They are willing to help you out and even have complimentary razor, toothpaste, etc in case you forgot yours! Ps. Their mini shampoo and conditioner bottles come bath and body works, you can't go wrong there! They have an indoor Jacuzzi, pool and workout facility that I was able to use and loved it, so don't forget your swim suit and workout attire! This was by far my favorite hotel I have been to during my Utah/Colorado trip and wished we had more nights here. PS. Upon arriving it is on a corner where you might miss the entrance, keep your eyes peeled. ;) read more
