On our motorcycle trip from Richmond VA to the Grand Canyon and back, we are trying to stay at places that won't break the bank. In this case, there was very little available in Durango because of the holiday weekend and the many activities scheduled. I had a horrible time finding anything. The Booking.com site was acting a fool and I ended up reserving two rooms. Only needed one and the policy states no cancellations. I called the hotel at midnight, while trying to deal with Booking.com. I spoke to Sherry who sensed my panic. She said she'd see what she could do to get one room cancelled, but offered no guarantee. Ten minutes later she called back saying I was good to go with only one reservation. My opinion of Econo Lodge got bumped up a notch! Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a smile. The reception area was clean and orderly. Our room was small, dark outdated, BUT clean. The beds were comfy, the water was hot and the shower pressure was good. The continental breakfast offered was better than many we'd experienced on our cross country travels. I'm giving this Econo Lodge a 5, not because it's top notch, high end, fancy, but because, in it's class, this budget hotel meets the bar.

Unbelievable location and amazing service. Very comfortable rooms very modern and clean. Also very large bathroom and main rooms. Could definitely work from this location for a week if needed. Surprisingly comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning from 6 AM to 9 AM.

    Tv viewing area, very comfy

This room was the best on our trip, two large kings and a fold out bed, two TVs. Super clean, very friendly and helpful staff, they enjoy what they are doing. Great price too. The breakfast was grab and go. We are definitely coming back.

    Super clean hot tub!

Very clean and nice spot to stay. The hot tub was amazingly clean. Very nice owner. Clean sheets and bathrooms. Affordable and a great location.

Umm. 55 degrees is apparently the norm. So sayeth the placard. Being your own heater and sleeping bag and you are set.

BYOH: bring your own heater. At least your beer will stay nice and cold as you drink it. Sleeping bag is a must during the winter but hey, most folks staying here are busy skiing anyway during that time. Pros: honest staff both front desk and housekeeping. Breakfast includes a cool make your own waffle my kids were fascinated with. Got two kings and a foldout queen. Saw a deer right outside the office when we rolled up at midnight. Cons: HVAC is a fictional term. Incandescent lights will keep the room warmer than most would imagine. A $40 Walmart heater will do the trick as long as you put the Do Not Disturb sign out. Wi-Fi speeds rival dial up with lost connections every half hour or so. Two plug connections available after lamps accounted for; I happen to travel with a power strip so again, no big deal. All in all, I might come back, luckily I'm a prepared kind of guy who can roll with it. Don't expect a low priced room not to have trade off but only twice in my life has HEAT been the gotcha, the other time being in KOREA.

I feel as though all of us guests were a big family being respectful of each other's time, noise and peace level. The views are AMAZING. This place is nestled right in front of some beautiful Mountain Views. You get breakfast every morning including some yummy goodies, water is always available (big plus, we didn't have to buy water over and over!), and fresh cookies are always on the table! Downstairs is an area to watch TV with couches, table to relax or play games (provided). My husband and I truly felt like we were at home. This place was truly my favorite part of our entire trip. Everything was clean and cozy. Breakfast was plenty. Thank you J&W! I will be returning!!

We got the Homebody room, which had a king size bedroom, and a full-size pull out coach in the living room. Also a kitchen with all the utensils you'd need. The look of the apartment was definitely eclectic - bright shades of yellow and pink splashed across the walls. Plus, a polka dot bathroom. The decor was fun too. An old school radio, suitcase, and telephone were among the many items on the shelves. These rooms certainly aren't anything fancy, but everything was clean and tidy. It's nice that check in is contactless. You simply get a set of directions emailed to you once you book letting you know the code to get in. Parking is limited but they do give you a parking pass so you're all set. Also great is its location. Truly the center of downtown, within walking distance to all the shops, bars, restaurants, and coffee joints you could need. The one bummer was a leaking ceiling in our unit's bathroom. Hopefully they get that sorted ASAP because it was quite bad. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to travelers passing through!
