Best sleep I've had in awhile!! Boyfriend & I celebrated our 3 year anniversary in Cheyenne, we last minute decided to spend the night & holiday inn's are our go to cuz we have the rewards program. Staff were very friendly & helpful, we asked for a higher up room & we got on the 3rd floor out of 4 so I was extremely happy. Room was clean, no weird smells, tv worked, comfy bed, complimentary breakfast. You'd think these are the bare minimum for hotels but when you travel often you deal w a lot of awful ones which makes me appreciate the good ones a lot more. read more

Exceptionally clean; from the furniture to the carpet and floors. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The room was very clean, bed linens and towels were pristine. Since we had been on the road for several days I needed to get some laundry done. Their laundry area got the job done but the washing machine needed some attention. Fabulous two-night stay!!! Upon checking in we met Sammi Jo. Her personality was such that she immediately made us feel that this going to be our home away from home for the next two days!!!! The first thing I noticed after check-in was the ambience - clean, organized, and well appointed furniture in the front lobby and hospitality area. The guest room was also very clean and well appointed with nice furniture including a very nice king bed!!!! The hospitality room was very well set up for a great breakfast each of our two days at the hotel. Each morning we met Crystal as she was working the front desk and helping in the hospitality area - leadership on duty. The pool and jacuzzi area was also very clean and in great working order. We used most of the amenities at the hotel and everything was in perfect condition - to include those fabulous coffee grinder machines!!! What a huge improvement with 24/7 hot fresh coffee. I actually really liked the room decor. Deep reds and dark browns. It looked Rick and inviting. The front desk was helpful and pleasant. There were plenty of towels in the room. I had 2 gripes which makes this a 3 star review instead of 4. 1) when we arrived, our room had the AC on set to 60. This is November folks. We have never stayed at a worse Holiday Inn Express. This HIE was twice as expensive as the one in Elko, NV, or Des Moines, IA. The staff in Cheyenne was very condescending while we were checking in. We are gold members and expected to get a bottle of water for each of us. We were offered one bottle of water in lieu of 250 bonus points. Not cool. When we got to the room, the entry light had such a long delay, we thought it was broken and walked into a dark room. The light finally went on after we had fumbled in the dark for another switch. The decor is dark, dingy and dated. Floor did not look clean. In the bathroom, the casing of the hair dryer was broken and there was no shampoo in the shower, just one shower gel and two bottles of conditioner. If passing through Cheyenne, avoid this place at all costs. read more

The room lights didn't work. The TV or WiFi was terrible. Hot water didn't in the morning. The front desk person on nights had bad body odor. In the morning to keep my room was like seeing a nursery from the managers kids or staff. Other than that the room was clean and kept up nice great beds but poor management. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The outside of the building is nice and so is the entry. My "suite"?! Disgusting! Such a foul odor! Stains on everything. The walls looked like someone just destroyed them. The bed was hard as a rock and smelled horrible. Run far, far away. As a gold elite IHG member, I expected better. read more

Sooo, I checked out of my hotel room just to find out I have been sleeping with bed bugs for four days... I told the front desk, he told me, "thanks for letting them know", and offered no resolution or consideration. I asked to speak with the Manager and he told me that he was the Operations Manager. So, I called the corporate office, and they told me they couldn't do anything, that I would have to take it up with the local hotel management. If you are traveling to Cheyenne, Wyoming I would strongly discourage staying at Holiday Inn Hotel Cheyenne-I-80 which is an IHG - InterContinental Hotels Group affiliate. I have been an IHG member since 2003, and this is the loyalty they show me. read more

I stayed here on October 27-28, 2020 and as our family are Gold elite members, I expected better. I've stayed at a number of Holiday Inn Expresses and although the furniture in the suite was slightly fancier than other locations, the room itself wasn't completely clean. During COVID-19, I would've expected the housekeeping staff to actually clean the guest room bathrooms. I knew our room's bathroom hadn't been thoroughly cleaned because as I entered it for the first time, there were multiple hairs in and around the bathtub area. That grossed me out and made me not want to use the shower/bathtub at all. Also, the price for this stay was higher than any other Holiday Inn Express I've stayed in. At $140 a night (even as an IHG rewards member), I seriously doubt I'll ever be back. read more

Good location. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, after 5pm. Gave us another room and the floor was dirty. The comforter had a blood stain right at the top where it's turned down. A used soap was left in the shower and some of the towels were stained. The coffee pot was filthy and not usable. I left my pjs on the bed and they left a note refusing to make the bed if personal items were left there. The pool was low and not circulating, front desk was aware and "working on it." No cinnamon rolls for Tuesday's breakfast. But, the shower was hot with good water pressure. There was coffee available in the afternoon, and the staff was friendly. read more

I stay in lots and lots of HI Expresses and this one is just like the rest of them. Which is a good thing.... That's why I stay at them all the time. That and the good rewards program. I will say it feels very clean, nicely stocked, the bed seems comfy. The young man at the front desk was very nice when I checked in. I searched for bed bugs, didn't find any (always a good sign given the bed bug crisis going on at the moment).... Gym, pool, free parking, etc. etc. Free internet, free breakfast. Just travelling through, we decided to stay here mainly due to me being an IHG Platinum member. On first appearances, the hotel seemed to be fairly new, but then when getting into our room, we were still impressed by the newish furniture, big television and extremely clean within. The air conditioner seems a little quieter than the average other hotel. This place has heaps of amenities with the friendly staff too. One downfall to this hotel is that there are very limited restaurants in the area. read more

I was passing through with a friend and around 11:30pm when about to draw the curtains I saw a staff member (brown haired man with a man bun, kind of scruffy looking) with a flashlight going around each of the cars in the parking lot and looking into them! He was also inspecting the exterior of the cars and giggling. When he saw me he ran and hid behind a car. I went down to the lobby to talk to someone but no one was there so I'm guessing he was the only one on call. My friend and I immediately dropped off our key and left. Checked in yesterday with two teenagers so they could play in a local baseball tournament. The woman at the front desk (I didn't catch her name) was very friendly and Incredibly nice. We were checked in in a jiffy. I asked for a rollaway bed and it was delivered within moments of getting to our room. The room was clean and updated and so was the hotel lobby. There is a continental breakfast in the morning from 6 to 10 a.m. Most Hotel breakfast consist of pastries juice toast and perhaps a waffle machine. This breakfast had pastries biscuits and gravy cheese omelets and an assortment of goodies that aren't typically available. I'll be honest, I had low expectations when arriving but have been pleasantly surprised and happy with our stay. Not a reflection of the hotel itself, but this morning there was a man wearing a three to three and a half foot crucifixion across his back. Not a t-shirt with a picture mind you, but an actual 3-foot cross with Jesus nailed to it held up with a strap slung across his back as he walked through the lobby mumbling to himself. Personally I don't like Jesus with my coffee in the morning but hey everybody's different... read more

I'm a big fan of the holiday inn expresses and this one fits the stereotype. It is very clean with a large comfortable bed, good coffee, and an excellent breakfast. If you are passing through Cheyenne, this is a good place to stay. If you can avoid Cheyenne, I would recommend that instead. There isn't much to do, at least on a Sunday night, and I think the hotels are all overpriced. read more

We are a gold rewards member and this was the 11th Holiday Inn Express that we stayed at on our 2 1/2 week trip this vacation. As you walk in to the lobby, you think that you are going to be in a nice Holiday Inn Express because they have a gorgeous, modern lobby with beautiful pillars of running water. However that was literally the highlight of our stay their. When tried checking in at 2:15pm, they could not run our Discover credit card. They started accusing us of our card not work and our card being declined. We tried telling them that we had used it the past 12 days all across the country at both Holiday Inns and gas stations. They called their tech while we called Discover, which obviously told us that the card was perfectly fine with no holds. Meanwhile, they were still trying to tell us that it was our card. Another guest came in and tried using his Discover card which was also declined by their machine. They only had one service clerk working on our issue at the front desk. While we were still waiting, he started helping check in other guests who were not paying with a Discover Card....mind you there were four other service clarks in the back who kept periodically kept peaking their head out from behind the wall. After an hour and 15 mins we finally told them, "Look, we've been waiting for over an hour, we are customers too." It was then that the same clerk said that he had to call Discover because supposedly it was on their end that the machine was not working. We told him that we've been waiting for a long time. And then a lady came out and said to let us put our bags into the room. We did and went to dinner. When we came back around 5:30ish, a new clerk at the desk stopped us we had to start the process all over. He tried telling us that it was our card.....despite the fact of the other guest that had the same problem earlier and the fact that we used the card at the car wash. Finally after waiting for him for about 30-45mins to try about 7 different ways to run the card, we told him that he had until the next morning to get it fixed because we were tired from traveling cross country all day. He said the night auditor would try again. Obviously in the middle of the night, they finally got their machine to work. I just want to say that the service was awful, no apologies, and every staff member that we saw at the desk was lacking professionalism (both in mannerism, conversation, and in appearance). Also there was no compensation for the over two hours combined total. I was beyond frustrated!! Then to top it all off....remember the beautiful lobby....well the rooms to not match the lobby!! The floor was in need of a better vacuuming job, the pillows were flat and worn out, the mattress was old, the sheet on the mattress was inside out, the bathroom was not very clean either. I opted not to say anything to the front desk because I really did not want to deal with the people at the front desk after all that we went through earlier that day. And to top it all off, the tv was outdated as every channel had either a week signal that was causing lines through the TV or it was the TV itself (and I should also point out that they only had like 40 channels). We only ever use Holiday Inn Express hotels, but this was not on the top of the list. Also I do work from my laptop at night, but the internet was extremely slow!!!! read more

Great people working here. Chris (desk) and Michelle housekeeping were incredibly nice and help us so much after having an accident on I-80 we stay for 2 nights. The rooms are incredibly nice. The hotel is being remodel, So that's so great. It has the free continental breakfast. I am really picky on hotels I stay and this hotel is a great place to stay at. The place is clean , updated rooms, granite counters and marble showers, new updated furnishings. read more

My room was comfortable, but my visit was not overly extraordinary. The breakfast is okay. The elevator smells and operates as if it's leaking hydraulic fluid. They dont have air conditioning in the lobby. Other than that, it was just fine. read more

This hotel is seriously understaffed. Only one person at the front desk, even if there's a line. Only one person able to help with anything else - the same woman delivered our crib as apparently had to clean a new room for us because of a window leak in the original room. This place is definitely not worth the money you pay. The pros: Easily accessible from the highway, downtown and close major roads. The Cons: upon check in the girl assisting us offered very little assistance. We watched her leave the counter when we walked up and leave the front waiting area. We stood there for longer than necessary to return and upon returning was not greeted but stared at. I have my name and took out my license and credit card waiting to be asked. We were not so I stared back waiting to be told what exactly she needed from me so we could complete the process and be on about our day. She handed me a paper which I looked at and finally had to ask what the purpose was she responded "I needed to initial it acknowledging the hotel rules". Easy enough I signed she handed me the room key instructed me down the hall to the elevators with no room number or hotel info ie wifi, breakfast etc. We find our room number on the paper and get up to the room which was not clean. 0 out of 0 for the cleaning staff as well. We brought bleach wipes and microban because Covid and set about cleaning. The beds were a mess but looked clean so we were ok there. My daughter spent the next 30min checking for bed bugs because it looked like it was a possibility with the cleanliness of this room. The soaps in the bathroom were not refilled and someone's toothpaste was on the mirror. Save yourself the trouble of switching later and go elsewhere. read more

Easy check in for a walk in. Great clean room. Answered all questions I had such as security, places to eat, and where to buy beer because you can't buy it at a gas station. Pillows are SOOOOO soft and beds/sheets were clean. Made sure I had a front room so I could see my car from my room. Great place!! read more
