I attended a wedding in Temecula and stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable which included a mini refrigerator, finding a place to park was easy, and the location was great. I didn't hear any noise while in my room which was on the thrid floor overlooking the front entrance. They also have free breakfast, free wifi and a pool which I did not utilize. Me and my boyfriend came here to stay the night after our wine tasting tour on the Grapeline which was awesome by the way. This hotel was nice and the staff was friendly both check in and out. Breakfast was also good. We used the hot tub too and we were the only ones in it on a Friday night so that was cool. Beds were comfortable. We didn't have a view but we didn't care. I travel a lot for work and I stay at IHG properties across the country. This is an average IHG property although hey have happy hour from 5-7pm with free drinks and food. The rooms are in need of updating: no thermostat on wall, no USB ports and limited power outlets. Staff is friendly and the hotel is relatively clean. read more

I booked a room for a couple of days so I could visit my friends who were visiting from TX. I chose this location as they were staying here as well. Upon arriving I was able to find a close parking spot to the entrance and was greeted immediately upon entering. I was provided a room on the first floor right next to the laundry room. My initial thought was the room would smell like fabric sheets as it was in such close proximity. Unfortunately the room was hot and a little muggy but nothing that turning on the ac unit cannot fix. I truly liked the appearance of the room and the amenities it included. My room included a double bed although I should have asked for a king bed. It also came with a mini fridge, microwave, and mini keurig. There is a full size desk, flat screen tv, dresser, and separate mini computer area. The room does not come equipped with a closet but does have a small area with a hanging rack. You will also find an iron and ironing board. The bathroom is spacious and bath and bodywork mini lotions, shampoos, and conditioners are included along with makeup wipes. You can get complimentary hygiene products from the front desk. Breakfast is provided. I never made it out to try it but my friends said it was satisfying. I would definitely stay here again as the place was very nice and looked just like the pictures. The room was clean. The only drawback was the area on the bottom of the tub. The paint on the wood was peeling and their was some smut in the corner. In the lobby there are also snacks and drinks that can be purchased however the prices are steep. A 20 oz will run you $3. The hotel close to the interstate, food, and shopping attractions. read more

I made this reservation online and discovered as we finalized our trip west the reservations were not changeable or refundable. They debited my account upon making the reservation. This afternoon, we checked in and the card I reserved the rooms with was asked for(not too unusual when checking in). However, when I got to my room and cranked up my computer, I discovered my account had been debited again (for a security deposit). I went to the person who checked me in and she said it was routine. I said it was not and that it was not a pre-authorization, but a debit that was already subtracted from my balance. I asked for the General Manager, and he was not working. I asked when the GM would be in and the lady explained that he worked 8-5, and would be back the following morning. I explained to the lady that GM get paid to deal with issues related to the operating of the hotel as well as seriously upset guests. I wanted him called and wanted those charges dropped immediately. No more Holiday Inn Express for me. read more

I was in Temecula this past wknd and we stayed here to do some wine tasting....well my friends and I were very happy with this hotel....just to start we arrived before check in time and they were very pleasant and checked if they had a room available and it just happend that they did...so with so hesitation they checked us right in...explain were everything was at and always with a smile on their face....well the first thing we noticed is that this hotel is newly renovated and very nice and clean rooms are spacious beds are comfortable and bathrooms are very nice....another thing that was great it had a fridge and a microwave( wow) that was def a plus....but what surprised us the most was the continental breakfast if u could call it that...it was a full on breakfast they had eggs, bacon,biscuts,gravy, cinnabons,bagels,english muffins, cereal, yogurt, milk, chocolate milk...etc...and soooo much more!!...and all this was in a seperate room with table to sit in...wow!!!....that was such a great little feature....and the best thing is the price for the room vey affordable and below most hotels in the area....absolutely will return and recomend it to anyone! read more

I was initially surprised by the $175 rate for a Holiday Inn. Then to have bugs in our bed and hair on our towels from the previous user, we were very disappointed. It's a pet friendly hotel I believe (may be service dog's only, not sure) and the bugs looked similar to flees. The staff did move us to a new room right away, but the "computer" accidentally charged us the upgraded rate. We had to call back and request the refund. I now wonder if we hadn't called, would they have caught that? Doubtful. Definitely would not stay here again. Holiday Inn Express has some fairly nice hotels that we've stayed at before, but this one failed to impress. Then again, there's not a whole lot that's much nicer in this price range, in the Temecula area. I'd say find a pregnant friend to be your DD and make the trip back home at the end of your night. It's not worth spending the night. read more

Typically I read reviews before I stay places. I booked through priceline and didn't bother for some reason until the night before we arrived. I admit, I was scared we were in for a disaster because of all the terrible reviews! And to top it off, we were going to be there for FIVE days! We were pleasantly surprised! Modern, clean, sharp looking entrance and lobby. Friendly staff. AMAZING continental breakfast. My son loved making his pancakes and having peeled hard-boiled eggs. Take a one of their biscuits and put a sausage patty on it. BAM. Better than McDonalds...seriously. So many options! The warm cinnamon rolls were yummy too. Two full length mirrors, vanity desk mirror, large bathroom mirror...nice! Jacuzzi was HUUUGE...we used it sometimes twice daily. Whoever said there were no vending machines didn't make it outside. That's where the goods were. They also had fresh baked cookies at around 5:45pm nightly..delish! We were sad to leave. Stayed at the Days Inn in Encinitas (to be closer to legoland for a couple days) at the end of our trip and even our 4yo asked if we could go back to this hotel! Nothing but good stuff to say. Fridge and microwave were much appreciated. Since we were staying so long we got groceries around the corner at a filthy cheap place the front desk told us about--Food 4 Less. Score! read more

We were looking for a good value and found it with Holiday Inn Express. We were in town for only one night, for a local wedding at a winery, and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg, but wanted to satisfy our "spoiled" tastes for finer places when we're vacationing. The more "resort" places were sold out for the weekend, but we started searching for alternatives using Yelp and travel ratings. GREAT VALUE found - Almost surprisingly (we paid less than $150 for our room), our room was immaculate, new decor, comfortable king size bed, big flat screen tv, granite bathroom counters, separate vanity with mirror space, refrigerator, microwave, free wi-fi AND the room was quiet. The front desk was very friendly and helpful, courteous every time we walked through the lobby. I would give 5 stars, but the fan/AC was a bit loud, but not enough to keep us from sleeping. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone staying in the area. It was 20 min. from the wineries and just minutes down the street from a great breakfast place we found through YELP, "Mo's Egg House". read more

I stayed at this hotel with my father at the end of April. We had booked this room in advance as we were visiting San Diego. Upon arriving at the room, we found the accommodations pretty good - room looked clean, had big beds, a tv, free wifi (though I later discovered it kept kicking me off on my phone, causing me to reconnect multiple times)...all was set. We settled in for the night after swimming in the pool, and it was around 10:30 pm that I started to smell the smoke. I was trying to get to sleep, watching hbo (a plus, I might add), when I started to smell a distinct cigarette smell. All the rooms are said to be non-smoking, but there was no mistaking that smell. I'm not a smoker, but I've been around smoke before and can't take it for very long before I start getting dizzy/headachey. I started to get worried, so I even woke my dad who promptly tried investigating where the smell (which started to get stronger) was coming from. We discovered that it was most strong in the bathroom, which had a vent to it. We can only assume that the vents were connected to another room (directly above us), where people were smoking and it was filtering into our room. In order to get the smell out, we closed the door and turned on the AC (since the windows didn't open). I called front desk to report the problem. A woman said, "Hm...well, I'll have someone go investigate it." She didn't ask anything else, I even promptly said what room I was in. I waited up for about two hours with no response, and didn't get any all night. By the time I woke up (after not getting much rest), the smoke smell had disappeared. The pros about this hotel is that I did enjoy their wide selection in the continental breakfast (pancakes, fruits, cinnamon buns, omelets, sausage, toast/bagels/muffins, yogurts, milk, and various juices/teas/coffee), but upon further research of past reviews of this hotel, the smoke problem has occurred before. Apparently has even been reported, but nothing is being done about it. When we checked out, I let the front desk know and they didn't seem too concerned. Wouldn't recommend this hotel. read more

We got a great price on a room from a priceline express deal. Originally i thought it wouldnt be a good exprience because of the name. I judged, yes. But we were pleasantly surprised. Clean, updated rooms and friendly accomodating staff. Liked the room at the price we got. If we payed full price though, review may not be the same because i think their price is a bit high. One tip, request a room on a higher floor. Rather thin ceiling/floor and we could hear the people above us walking around at 3 in the morning. Other than that we would definitely gamble a stay on priceline again. read more

I am in agreement with all of the other reviews about the horrible no cancellation policy. I booked a room thinking my girlfriend and I would go to pechanga and stay. Two hours later I got a call that a family emergency took place and I called to see what the hotel could do and they would not budge. The hotel was not sold out so there would have been no loss they could have rented it out to someone else. I even offered to pay a 25 or 50 dollar cancellation and they still would not budge. This is a ridiculous policy for any hotel but especially one that is overpriced to begin with. read more

Very happy overall with the location, room, amenities, customer service, complimentary breakfast and swimming pool/spa. They let us check in at noon, so we could freshen up before heading to Old Town Temecula for lunch/shopping. It was over 100 degrees; so the pool was a real lifesaver. It was clean and the hotel provided towels. There were no umbrellas and shade was wanting. We requested a room with 2 queens for and the beds seemed too small. We sleep on a king at home, and these beds seemed more like full sized than queen. The mattresses were firmer than we prefer. The breakfast was self serve and had a nice selection of typical breakfast fare. We were on the freeway side of the hotel and the room was very quiet, possibly due to double paned windows. AC worked great. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Terrible. Got checked in, went up to my room and saw on my bed a small blood stain. I take out the bed sheets and look through it and see some questionable stains. Absolutely disgusting. I request to change rooms and looked through the comforter in the new room and saw stains AGAIN! I didn't want to keep switching rooms so I requested a new comforter. The cleaning ladies were super apologetic and very sweet...wish I can say the same about front desk girl. Went out for a bit and came back to the room and found it infested with ants!! Wtf is going on with this place!? I got a new room but, again, no apology...NOTHING from the front desk or guest services lady. I'm only here for a few days on business and I know this isn't the Ritz, St. Regis, or Hilton but are you guys kidding me!? You guys have to have some sort of standard. This is beyond ridiculous and the fact that you don't own up to it with an apology baffles me. Absolutely disgusted with this place. read more

After checking into our room on Friday afternoon, my family and I went to a wedding rehearsal and then dinner after wards. We returned to our hotel about 10 - 10:30 pm and found we couldn't get into our room because our room key card didn't work. A member of my party went down to the lobby and his key was reinstated. Getting into our room, we found suitcases, clothes hanging next to ours and liquor that was not ours. Some of the towels had been used because someone had taken a shower while we were gone. Talking to the manager on the phone, he questioned us as to how many were in our room (4). Since the telephone conversation was going nowhere, I went down stairs to see him. I made him come back to our room to show him the problem. The manager was insinuating that we had made the mistake suggesting that we had not closed the door behind us when we left.. After much bantering back and forth, he finally admitted the front desk had made the error. We were credited with one nights stay and moved to another room. I will be notifying corporate about this major breech of security in their hotel. read more
