I attended the RV Show, during which they misplaced my fiancée's ID and debit card, forcing us to wait for TWO hours until they eventually located them. Warning to RV Owners - My Experience with Holiday World RV Service I took my Coachmen Prism [Year/Model] to Holiday World for: * Roof repair (insurance claim with Progressive) * Cummins Onan generator warranty service They kept my RV for over 4 months, giving me repeated false promises about when it would be ready. When I finally got it back: The roof was still leaking (water damage risk continues) The generator warranty repair was not completed This has caused major inconvenience, potential damage to my RV, and loss of use. I have documentation and photos showing the unresolved issues. I am demanding that Holiday World finish the repairs properly or release my unit to a qualified facility. My wife and I made what to us was a major 300K+ purchase of a class A motorcoach from the Holiday World dealership in Katy Texas. Overall, we felt that it went as expected; not our first purchase as we have been RVing for many miles and years. Of course the finance department pulled the same interest rate buy-down game resulting in a final rate above what had been mentioned by sales and all but pushed an extended warranty down or throats; same story discussed in other reviews on this page. We got the distinct feeling that there was either a complete communication disconnect between sales and finance or simply a well practiced game; probably the latter. The issue for us came in the way of a minor and virtually costless ask of our salesman. We chased this for almost eight weeks! Eight weeks for complete unnecessary silliness.... WHY?? Made us understand how much we were actually appreciated after the sale. This is the exact kind of simple follow-up that makes or breaks overall customer satisfaction and memories. Rest assured, we won't ask for anything else..... So, in the end, a two star rating for our overall buying experience do entirely to lack of concern regarding a very simple ask of our salesman. In all fairness to the dealership... We had the need to speak to the service department with some specific mechanical questions; really a great service manager. Everyone was knowledgeable and easy to do business with. there was never a hard sell or pressure. The care, patience and tips from John at the walkthrough and how-to for our unit was highligh. he was very knowledgeable and would go over something as many times as needed. we never, ever felt he was on a timeline to get us out. He even gave us his card and said call anytime you run into a question on something you don't remember order issue. this was our second purchsee from HW. it had been probably 12+ years. between, but the service was as good or better than our first time. While camping in Utah, I left my Airstream for a day of hiking. Though I raised the awning, I did not lock it. While I was gone, winds of more than 50 mph pulled the awning away from the Airstream and bent the tube. I drove 350 miles to Holiday World of Katy from north Texas since the service I had received at Airstream of DFW was marginal at best. The Holiday World of Katy workmanship was so bad and incomplete, I had to take it back to Airstream of DFW to correct their work. Since nobody in Texas seems to be able to do quality work on Airstreams, I decided to take it to the Airstream service center in Jackson Center, OH (over 1,000 miles from my home). Since the awning never seemed to work quite right, I asked them to check it for me. This is what they told me: "The body shop found the awning mounting rail is almost ripped off. They said there was an extra awning slat on the roller which most likely caused it. Just a heads up that we will repair this as well before it comes all the way off the unit." Holiday World of Katy charged me over $1,600.00 to replace the awning roller. Had the awning come off while traveling down the highway, I can't imagine the hazard that would have caused. I absolutely do not recommend Holiday World of Katy for your RV repairs. read more

Well after buying their top of the line Class A diesel pusher. My new 2023 spend just over 3 months in their service department having one thing after another repaired. From toilets that don't flush not even after they already fixed them the first time to trim falling off to fans not working, I can go on and on all the little stuff that should have never been an issue. After I was finally told I could pick it up the AC stopped working as I was pulling off the lot. I took over $50,000.00 loss and traded it in right then for a Renegade Super C. Two weeks later I finally got to take it out and engine break and air brakes stopped working along with several other items. Over 1 1/2 months later I'm told it's ready this is after 6 failed attempts to pick it up after receiving a call from Holiday World Service Department when all the work wasn't even completed. Well summer is now over and kids back in school. Stay away Holiday World Katy. The service department is full of incompetent people. read more

I have left four request for a call back at different times on different issues and cannot get someone to call me back as promised. I have waited on hold, talked to an agent and then if there is any follow-up needed that is where the story ends. We bought a used 2015 Lifestyle from here. Upon staying one night in it at the dealership, we found almost 10 things wrong with the RV. This was in december. We came back in January to stay again and resinspect it. There were still two things wrong. We stayed another night while the issues were fixed. My problem is now that we have moved in two weeks later, our window is leaking. Water poured in all over my counter and floor. We have water leaking from our ceiling, most likely a leak from our AC. Now we have to pay thousands in deductibles to have issues fixed that should have been addressed and fixed BEFORE a sale happened. I have tried speaking with whoever oversees inspections and have not received a call back. Save yourself the hassle and don't buy from this location. read more

I will never recommend buying from Holiday World RV. On Saturday I went to my local Holiday World to look at a camper with my parents. My sales person Diego was great, and between 3 campers I decided on one of them. The deal was $2,000 down, plus the hookups and sway bar installed on my truck. Diego suggests putting $1,000 down now but reassured me it was refundable. Later I get a phone call from one of their finance guys-Chris. Chris tells me I need to pay $1,000 now IN ORDER to get my interest rate - to see if I can financially afford the trailer right now. He reassures me on the phone that it's refundable if I do not like the interest rate, and hurriedly gets me to sign a form. Monday comes and I get a phone call from the finance guy Chris. He states it's a high interest rate despite having 750+ credit score and he has no knowledge of parts+sway bar thrown into the deal by Diego. He calls back later, states they can only do some of that. But suggests I drive to the dealer to check what I really need. I drive up in 30min and meet the parts department. They look at my truck and tell me that I need everything, I need it hardwired with a brake controller and 7pin. BUT suggests I get it elsewhere because he wouldn't trust someone there to do it and I should take it to ford or U-Haul to get it done. Very nice guy who I had a long discussion with. I go back to Chris and at this point I don't like the going back on the full deal, and I want to prioritize getting my truck done before I purchase the camper. I tell Chris that I want to back out of the deal get my money back prioritize my truck and come back. Chris goes to his manager and we sit down and he offers to include the trailer plus all of the hook ups, brake, controller, everything - mind you was the original deal. Still taking into account that I don't feel comfortable getting it wired and hooked up at their dealership, I tell him I want out. He immediately says "well, you're not getting your money back because you signed a form." I contacted their customer support - Tina Wainwright who ultimately told me because I signed a form that I lose my $1,000 unless I buy from them. I asked her if it's normal to be lied to at Holiday world in Katy, and her only response was well you signed a form and verbal agreements or anything said is not taken into account. So you have to pay to get your interest rate and if you don't feel comfortable with that high interest rate then they steal your money. As someone that just wanted to get their first trailer, this was the worst experience I've ever had in my life working with another person/people. read more

Watch these scumbags closely. They are by far the most expensive service center I have ever seen. For example, a part that can be purchased "everywhere" for $300 is $600 at this dealer. A hitch that can be purchased "everywhere" for $900 is $1500 at Holiday World. Their hourly rate is an incredible $259 per hour. The service they preformed on my RV was not properly done. The dealership had my rv for six months, failed to winterize the rv, even though they had it over the winter, twice called to say the repairs were completed (takes about 4 hours to get there), only to let me know when I arrived that repairs were not done (wasted trip, both in time and fuel costs), with another dealer now telling me of extensive additional problems due to not winterizing and,in addition, extensive water damage that was not previously disclosed. I am thankful I got the unit out of their hands when I did and even though Ill take a bath when this rv goes to auction, I'll at least get something for the rv, now that its out of their hands. This entire experience is the worst service I've ever experienced and I would strongly suggest staying as far away as you can from this poor excuse for a service department.They are big on excuses, apologies are non-existent,and , in general, they are lost souls when it comes to repairs. Took our 5th wheel RV to their shop on April 1 2024 for some warranty work to be done. We did not get it back until July 6, 2024! Their lack of communication was awful and they were not very good about returning phone calls. They kept giving us the runaround and excuses. Along with the warranty work we also had to have our awning replaced and to me it was way over priced. I will say that the work that was done was good. Fabulous service from John Harris in sales, but once you buy your RV, service department is the worst EVER. My Trailer is a 2021 and thank God that I havent had much to fix. Every time I have called with a question or issue, I NEVER get a return call with answers. Service is the most important item to think about when buying from any dealership. Too bad I can't give 0 stars. I'm not even sure where to start as our experience has never been great, but just keeps getting worse. We should have walked away when we were buying our RV just from the salesman Darryl always calling my wife sweetie, honey, and baby (and not in an old Texas man endearing way). Then when it came time to do the financing, the paperwork they had ready for us had a significantly higher interest rate than what we had discussed on the phone. I guess they figure by the time you sit down, you're too committed to walk away. But the real issues began when we needed warranty service on our brand new Newmar Bay Star (irritatingly just a few weeks after we drove it home). One of the rollers for the main slide out popped out, and tore the flooring in the process. We dropped it off Jan 15th, 2021 as they were backed up over the holidays. They told us it would be 2-3 weeks to fix the issues. We were very clear we wanted it back for Spring Break for a trip that was already planned and paid for, and they assured us it would done well before that. Now 5 weeks after dropping off, we did have a freak snowstorm here, and I understood that might delay things a little as a recall came in during the meantime. And they did call right before the snowstorm to ask if we wanted to pay for them to winterize it (which we did). However, every time we called for an update, we rarely got anyone to answer, when we did, we were met with obvious irritation, and almost never had calls or emails returned, including the 2 emails I sent Darryl who apparently didn't want to be bothered since he'd already gotten that big commission for the initial sale. But their phones worked fine when they called to ask us to pay for winterizing. I finally had to get the manufacturer involved, although they didn't have much better luck. Eventually my wife got a hold of the manager named Andy who assured her everything was done and it was ready for pickup. He apologized for the poor communication and offered to knock $100 bucks off our bill. Everything was starting to look up at that point, so we prepared to pick it up 4/17/21. We picked our RV up from Holiday World but that experience was just as bad all our previous experiences with them. The main thing they had really actually done was to fix the slide out roller, and replace a damaged antenna. However, I know from a conversation with them towards the end of January that the slide out work (the biggest issue) on that was completed at that time. And yet, they kept our RV for 2 and a half months after that. The recall, which Andy assured my wife had been taken care of was not done when we got there. To their credit, service manager Steven did take care of it in the moment. More importantly, the torn flooring from the malfunctioning roller had not been replaced, again despite Andy having told my wife it had. I found the 2 replacement floor tiles in a compartment below the RV, so they obviously knew they needed to be replaced, and the blue tape they had used to make repair spots was still on the floor. So all Andy would have had to have done is to walk into the RV to physically see that the work had not been done. Lastly, during the winterizing we paid for, it was evident they failed to remove the water filter in that process (which is standard procedure), and the filter housing cracked and broke. And they had the audacity to claim that wasn't their fault, and wouldn't be covered, but that they "learned a valuable lesson". And despite obviously knowing it was broken, they not only didn't replace it, but they didn't even set a replacement aside for us to purchase, simply telling us they were out of stock and that when they had gotten some, they sold out very quickly. In short, their communication is abysmal, and their service is incompetent and I will never do business with any of their locations again. If you have any other option for buying or servicing your RV, take it. read more

Holiday World was the best experience out of them all. My deal was easy to work and the process was fast and simple. The walk through was good. There were some deficiencies with my camper trailer at the walk through. Holiday World accepted the deficiencies and made the repairs and changes at their cost to deliver the camper. Isn't the purpose of a parts store to sell parts! Why can't they have sold us the specific item we needed & ring it up when they get done counting? (By all accounts they just might get done by next year!) We were willing to leave our cc#. Begged them but no go. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Actually told us to go to Camping World, their direct competitor. Glad business is so good you're GIVING it away. Newmar Customer Service, My wife & I own a 2018 Newmar New Aire coach # 71o250. While en-route from Dallas to Houston 0n Friday, November 17th, we had a mishap passing a concrete truck. The mirrors contacted, leaving our passenger side mirror dangling by the control wire. In a bit of a panic, we duct-taped the damaged mirror to the coach and looked for a place to get put back together. Our first call was weeks away from getting a replacement. However, our second call to Holiday World of Katy Texas was a home run. We connected with service adviser, Jeff McNish. He took our coach information and we told him we could be in Katy around 3:30 pm. Meanwhile, Jeff did a deep dive through inventory. When we arrived, he and Collision Estimator Ross Prater met us to assess the damage. Jeff looked over the situation, walked off to the parts building and returned a few minutes later with an exact match over his shoulder - one that had been left over from a prior repair some months ago. The only one on site. At this point it was closing time on Friday night. Jeff gave us a full hook up site for the night and said there'd be a technician available Saturday morning around 9:30. At 9:30 they picked up the coach and we went to breakfast. Jeff texted us around 10:30 saying everything was all set and they were ready to go. I've been in the service business for over 45 years and would say this was a pretty soft landing for a very annoying problem. Driving without mirrors on both sides is not recommended. So I wanted to say thanks to the Holiday World team and Jeff McNish. We highly recommend their interest and tenacity in solving this customer's problem. We are very impressed and grateful. One of my A/C's never worked. I took my RV to these guys several times and they always told me it checked out fine and just takes a while to cool off. I finally got time to look at it myself and now I know they never looked at it because these A/C systems don't have service connections from the factory. I had to install a saddle valve myself to figure out the compressor is bad. This is only one of many bad service stories I have with these people. I would never recommend them. read more

Holiday world of Katy has very unethical business practices, trying to hold onto your down payment after you sign agreements. They have in small print on the back if you disagree with what they call a good rate then you forfeit your deposit because signing the agreement let's them try and strong arm you . Put your deposit down by a credit card so gain your leverage back, that's the way I got my deposit back. They are a shifty dealer run run run don't look back and be glad you dodged a mistake. read more

I have been trying to get in touch with someone for months regarding the travel trailer we purchased and all I get is blown off. It's extremely poor customer service. The entire time we went through the purchase process was horrible and the fixes that were supposed to be made on our RV by Mike were just glue and tape. Vicki was extremely rude when we voiced our all the issues on the day of pickup, the fixes made were half ass; I could have done a better job if i did them myself and that's saying a lot; and when I tried to get these issues fixed the service department stopped returning my calls. This needs to get figured out because I am tired of my calls and concerns being ignored. We paid a lot of money for a trailer from you guys and have had kindness and patience through this whole process but at this point (6 months of back and forth calling and being ignored) we are sick of being nice. I want a manager, or some kind of higher up to contact me so you can hear how we have been treated by a number of your employees and to workout how we are going to fix this situation. i tried leaving this same review on their website but the site blocked me from doing so. it only lets you leave a 4 or 5 star review, anything lower and the site doesn't let it go through.
