My normally continent dog had an accident right on our (off white background) 45 year old hand knotted Persian rug. Disaster! I found Holland Rigs online, confirmed they knew how to properly wash older rugs, and called. Andrew Holland called me back within a day. He and a colleague picked up the rug from our house, washed and dried it, and returned it in a week, carefully putting it back in place. The rug looks better than it has for years! I'd had it cleaned once before, by someone else, and that was rather an ordeal. By contrast, Andrew and his team did a spectacular job. Not only did they get out the dog mess, the rug looks brighter, the colors and patterns are sharper and the fringe came out looking white and clean. The owner, Andrew, called me the day before to confirm our appointment time, and delivery was within the 1 hour window we had agreed upon. Andrew can provide the appropriate pad that is needed under the rug, he can add fringe, he can repair/replace the salvage edge that a cat destroyed, and of course clean your rug. Andrew is truly amazing. He took my antique rug that I was afraid to clean for 25 years and it is gorgeous. He is a miracle worker when it comes to rugs. His knowledge and care were immediately apparent when he unrolled our rugs in his shop to inspect them before giving us a quote. We had him clean these two rugs and make new pads for them. He tried to clean it and called me to say it wouldn't come clean because of the material. Even though he had done all the work he didn't charge me and asked me to bring another rug instead. We are extremely pleased with the excellent work quality that Holland Rugs performed on our large Kilim rug. The frayed edges, from our puppy's chewing, have been rewoven and the repair is barely noticeable. In addition the rug is now much cleaner and the colors are all brighter. The handwork does take a great deal of time, so beware that quality like this comes at a price and that's usually at a slower speed! I spilled red wine on our 9x12 silk Persian Rug on Xmas day. We hurriedly took rug outside to rinse off. My husband then commenced to scrub with white vinegar off and on for a week. The stain had diminished but very visible. Thinking that the rug was a total lose anyway I decide to at least try a rug cleaner. I found Holland Rugs on goggle and read the glowing reviews on Yelp. I was so very fortunate with my blind choice. They were so very nice, understanding and were able to clean the rug such that the stain is NOT noticeable, all the dog oils were gone and the color remained in the rug.
