First I was so excited to see strawberries in stock, given they have had such a rough crop this summer. And not only did they have them but they had quite a bit! They're small but mighty delicious! Also, love all the local brands/makers they carry and they just keep upping their game outside of produce as well. In particular I'm mightly geeked that they carry Bird Dog Baking from Ypsi (love their rye teacake), White Lotus Farms (my husband can't stop raving about the pistachio blackberry croissant I brought him), Why Not Pie?, Harvest Kitchen, and more. And of course, my beloved Crust. Everyone here is so kind. The mission is so important. And their products are so great. Love having them so close by!

Lately I've been coming for postpartum prepared meals because I know their ingredients are decent. This is definitely a good place to go if you're looking for something fun to try, or to bring something unique to a dinner party etc. They also have meat, dairy, a lot of ready-mades, and a nice looking salad bar. It is overall more expensive than other grocery stories, but presumably shopping here is supporting a local business and local farmers.

I was surprised that the produce woman sent me to ZZ's - never heard of it. We drove up and I was sure I was the fool of a cruel bougie-grocery-store joke. Nope. This is the best spot we've found in the area for "ethnic" produce i.e. banana leaves, taro root, shiso, thai basil, fava beans, green almonds... I mean, the works! Not only that, they have a lot of chilies, onions, canned latin and middle eastern foods, and the only mission-style sized tortillas i've seen outside of San Francisco. The apple fritters looked enticing and were selling fast but I can get those at home where nobody makes cider donuts like this! They have a whole store you can go into or if you just want donuts and cider, you can do the grab and go area instead. We bought an apple pie, some fudge, donuts (cinnamon and plain, they also have pumpkin and gluten-free and some cherry one today), cider, and cider slushees for the car ride home. I had a slight problem - the straw poked through the cup and slushee went EVERYWHERE, so I'd recommend they maybe get thicker cups or not as pokey straws. They do have regular bathrooms here (as well as a port-a-potties) but they were a little messy. Overall I'd come back here though, they had a lot of tasty-looking treats and a cute venue.
