Loyal for over 20 years but NO MORE. While I had previously loved Hollister, I am dissatisfied with their customer service. The value just isn't there anymore. I purchased two skorts that are wick material about three months ago. I noticed earlier this month that the fabric is bally and faded already. I always wash them in cold water. Then I hang dry them. I contacted corporate about this quality assurance issue and they just recited their return policy back to me. The value isn't there because when I make a purchase I expect it to hold up for at least one year given I don't wear these items every week. This location and all the storefronts I've been inside in the past five years barely have a customer base. I'd be surprised if they survived another five years based on their popularity but good luck. read more

Staff can be really rude, I was recently shopping here and was walking torwards the entrance of the women's clothing to grab another colored top and and a girl working (wearing keys on her upper arm, assuming she's a manager) there was speed walking torwards my direction super fast and bumped my shoulder, I wasn't in her way as there was so much space to walk next to me, no apologies nothing, I then go back torwards the dressing rooms and she's just staring at me. The whole thing was really strange but this hasn't been the first time, usually when I shop here I'm never kindly greeted or checked out, they talk as if something bothers them, staring at people funny, I've seen them be rude to others before. As a teen I've worked retail before, but if you don't like your job which involves talking to customers and checking them out, maybe don't apply here. I've bee shopping at this location forever and every time I had a problem with my online order, they were able to help me. However, I came in to exchange an online order and the worker, Kai, said it wouldn't be an even exchange. I told him that this location has done it for me many times in the past including the manager, and he said it wasn't allowed and that I could only use the credit towards a full price transaction. It literally says on their return policy that size exchange is an even exchange. read more

Came in not knowing anything about jeans and what size I am. Since everything is starting to open back up, I decided to shop for some clothes. I've only worn sweats my whole life. As soon as I stepped into the store, I was blown away by the friendly and welcoming staff, including a tall worker named Nick. Nick was super friendly and brought me multiple different sizes to try on, including different styles. Nick spent at least 20 minutes helping me pick out the right size and I eventually purchased 4 pairs of jeans, all thanks to him. The reason for the lower score was because I received a gift card instead of a refund. I purchased something online, and the item didn't really match my expectations, given the photos that were posted of it. I exchanged it for a different color to see if that would make any difference, but it didn't. I decided to return it. Note, all of this happened within the original 60 day return window of when I first purchased this item. When returning the item, I found that there seems to be a (corporate?) policy of only giving a gift card for exchanges, even if items are new and unworn. Not sure if his had been corporate policy for a long time, but it definitely seems to run counter to that of many other retailers. Won't take a chance in the future, and just go straight for a return if anything's wrong. Location was clean and well stocked. There were plenty of associates to help with our questions. read more

I am Banana Republic guy usually. Ended up going to this location looking for some half sleeve shirts and bought more than I had planned. I have always liked their decor and lighting and general vibes. Check out their dressing rooms, one of the nicer ones. Employees were friendly and attentive, I will be back. read more

Although the staffs are not really friendly especially this Asian girl who does not know how to smile, the clothes they sell here are decent. I was happy that the cardigan and top that I have been coming back for for about two weeks now were still there when I decided to buy it yesterday. :) The music they play are pretty entertaining and catchy. What seems to be the manager (Asian female) is at the same time the one with the poorest customer service skills in the mall and all the other Hollister stores in the Bay Area, and one can't expect the staff to be any better than the manager. She ignores you if you are waiting to gain access to the fitting room, she doesn't greet or smile. You simply won't feel welcomed or comfortable with her around. The customer is not her priority. Immature and rude staff! When I asked questions about price, the girl at the cash register got irritated and gave me attitude. When I returned for an exchange because there was a damage in my polo shirt because of the anti-theft security device, another girl at the cash register made it sound like it was my fault. While not in their target demographic, I had such a great shopping experience that I had to share it. The merchandise is fun and sexy. The store is clean and the music fun if not a bit too loud. The associates, esp. Tyler, were extremely helpful and polite. They sell underwear, flip flops, fragrances, shirts, jeans, shorts, swimwear, hoodies and CDs. Great job, dude and betties! read more

Not well stocked and didn't have the sizes I needed. But the lady walking through the store was able to help me and look to see if specific clothes they had were in stock or not. I would personally rather go to other Hollisters before coming to this location. read more

I too have a complaint about the so called "Asian manager" everyone is talking about. I'm honestly surprised she is still employed after reading all these negative reviews prior to posting mine! Here's mine: Over the weekend my husband and I took a road trip to San Francisco. We bought a sweater and a t-shirt. I didn't open my bag until today and upon trying on my sweater at home I realized the alarm censor was still attached to my sweater. Frustrated, I then called your store in Daly City where we bought it and asked what could be done. She said I could take it to any Hollister store- but the closest one to me is indeed 3 hours away. I live in a small town and we do not travel much, so that advice was not helpful. Once I explained this to her, she then said she was indeed very sorry but that there was absolutely nothing she could do for her employee's mistake. I then requested to give her the transaction information so that her employee who was responsible could be notified of their error that has frustrated me and left me with a useless sweater. Once explaining this story to my father-in-law, he then called back in an attempt to get a more justifiable answer. This is how he said the conversation went: He stated that she was unwilling to help when we asked for another customer service number and denied to give him one. He asked if shipping was available, so that we could send it to the store so it could be removed appropriately. As a last resort he then requested to cancel the sale of the sweater due to the sweater being absolutely useless if there was nothing she could do for us what's so ever. She replied that she was at a low paying job, she handled the situation according to company policy and that this was above her jurisdiction yet refused to give us a telephone number of a supervisor or a company customer service number. Nothing she said shed good light on your store- or company as a whole and we are thoroughly disappointed. We asked for her name and she refused to give it to him.
