GREAT DOCTOR. GREAT STAFF…read more In what alternative universe did a few people posting negative reviews see Dr. Grabow or interact with his staff? I've been a patient for several years. He is an excellent doctor. I have never been treated better by any staff. His staff is kind and addresses my questions or concerns. They call me back when I ask for something that can't be immediately addressed. They have never refused a request for a copy of a record, as one poster complained, and I requested a copy of the same thing the other poster allegedly requested. Dr. Grabow has fought with the work comp insurance company to get me medicine, physical therapy, and more. It has to be a pain in the behind to have to argue with an insurance company over and above treating patients, but he has chosen to do so and I am grateful for his choice. I am unfamiliar with the work comp system and Dr. Grabow has answered questions that I have had about it. He could have told me to go read something online or that my questions were outside of my medical care or some other excuse, but instead, he shared knowledge with me. Dr. Grabow is under constant pressure from work comp insurance companies to reduce pain medications - or to stop pain medicine altogether, to stop physical therapy, to stop any treatment, to declare patients permanent and stationary, but he does not do so when the patient still needs what they need. I'm not saying that he is Superman and will win every battle with an insurance company, but he is not afraid to go to battle with them. When the work comp insurance company demanded I submit to a Qualified Medical Exam (QME), the outside doctor I had to see for the QME agreed 100% with Dr. Grabow's care plan. It hasn't stopped the insurance company fighting against everything all the time, but it sure felt good to have another pain management physician agree 100% with Dr. Grabow's care plan.

From the moment Dr. June Sadiq walked into the room, I could tell he was genuine, compassionate, and truly cared about his patients. He took the time to listen, answered every question thoroughly, and made my grandma feel comfortable during a stressful time. What stood out most was that he never made us feel rushed. He was attentive, thoughtful, and kept checking on her throughout her visit, which meant so much to our family. When I asked if he could speak with my daughter over the phone to explain my grandma's test results, he didn't hesitate. He patiently went over everything, answered all of her questions, and made sure she understood the situation completely. That level of kindness, patience, and professionalism is rare. Dr. Sadiq is truly a gem. UCI Medical Center is incredibly fortunate to have him as part of its team. Thank you for treating my grandma with such compassion and dignity. We will never forget the difference you made.

At first, because I was in significant pain and going in and out of sleep, I didn't fully understand what was happening. As I became more aware of my surroundings, I noticed nurses were continuing to bring other patients back, while many of us remained waiting for hours. I eventually understood that patients were being prioritized based on who the nurses felt needed immediate attention, which I understand is necessary in an emergency department. However, if someone is considered stable enough to wait for that many hours, there should be better communication and a more organized process to keep patients informed and comfortable. The waiting room chairs are extremely uncomfortable, especially for someone experiencing significant abdominal or back pain. The discharge process was another major issue. It seemed like you had to repeatedly follow up with the front desk just to find out what was happening. If you didn't follow up, you could easily end up waiting even longer. There needs to be a clearer and more efficient discharge process so patients know what to expect. I want to make it clear that I do not blame the nurses. In fact, the nurse who initially checked me in was amazing. She was kind, professional, and clearly doing the best she could under extremely difficult circumstances. My frustration is with the system and the amount of responsibility being placed on the nursing staff. They appear to be overwhelmed and overworked, and that directly affects the patient experience and customer service. I am honestly shocked that a healthcare system allows patients to wait this long in pain without a more effective process in place. I understand that emergency departments are unpredictable and that patients must be prioritized according to medical need, but there still needs to be a better way to communicate with patients, provide comfort, and manage the waiting and discharge processes. I hope this feedback is taken seriously--not as criticism of the nurses, but as an opportunity to improve the system for both patients and staff. Nurses should not have to carry such an enormous workload, and patients should not feel forgotten simply because they are waiting for care.
