if I had to name my number one worst dining experience, it would be hands down Terrazas at Lyfe Hotel. Let's start with the parking. It's terrible. Both the hotel and the restaurant parking are in the. same lane so expect lots of delays. I never made up to the valet counter. The wait was too long. I had to walk it.The to get to the restaurant, it's a long hallway walk with a stop for a wrist band that indicates you are restaurant only, not allowed in the pool, Strange, but seeing the crowd the place attracts, no doubt necessary.. After getting your wristband you have to go up an elevator to get to the restaurant, which is really no a requirement, but a buffet where you have to forage around for your food. We were there for lunch so though they had good looking meats we couldn't have any unless we waited for dinner and paid an extra fee. The buffet area was crowded, mostly with unruly, loud, unsupervised children. The available food didn't amount to much either. Some smoked salmon,,ropa vieje, cooked salmon, salads, etc., but nothing exceptional except the $180 price tab for two with two drinks. Outrageous for what we had. read more

Super attentive staff! Very welcoming and ready to make suggestions. The vegetarian options (in my opinion) were very limited. The mushroom flatbread was fine. Also, our seating was out by the pool (which was great) but the furniture has seen some better days. I felt like a toddler since the chairs were so sunken. It's definitely on par with hotel prices - pretty spendy for a flat bread or a burger, but convenient if you are a guest of the hotel/airbnb! read more

Came out for dinner with one of my good friends. Its a spot she has been before but new for me. We had a few things like the Skirt Steak, a Cocktail Ceviche, & The Seafood Black Linguini Pasta. The service was a bit slow at first but once the server acknowledged us it was great. Made sure we had our drinks, food came out on time and was hot. The ambiance was nice , the restaurant sits in the rooftop of a nice hotel off Hollywood beach. Great for dates night or a evening with girls. Terrible customer service! After reserving inside seats, we were told when arriving at the restaurant that we could only dine outside- with a thunderstorm on the way. We couldn't get another reservation elsewhere on such short notice, so we had nowhere to eat dinner! read more

The ambience was really the only thing that impressed me about this restaurant. My son got the lamb and wanted it medium rare, it was very unevenly cooked, and not worth $45 at all. For an upscale restaurant, Terrazas left me unimpressed. I went for a late dinner with colleagues while in town for a conference. There was not a single vegan option on the menu unless you count the $10-$12 side dishes. When I asked the waitstaff what he recommended for someone who was vegan, he suggested one of the flatbreads or the Mediterranean salad, sans cheese. For the prices they were asking, I was not going to let them withhold key ingredients. So, I decided to eat dairy that night and ordered the Asiago gnocchi with vodka cream sauce. It was delicious, although the meager crostini with which it was served was burnt. My colleagues seamed happy with their seafood entrees. The service was surprisingly slow given how few people were there. They automatically added a 20% service charge, although one of my colleagues declared that it was 18% service, at best. For such a high dollar night out, I expected to come away more satisfied. read more

I stayed here last weekend for 2 nights and ate in this restaurant both days. To the little, bald man that thinks it is ok to scream at women and children - you are a very rude and terrible person. Accusing us of not being customers when using the restroom. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner in your restaurant! Christina is amazing and friendly while you are obnoxious and abusive. I couldn't believe the way you screamed at us both when we walked into the restroom and out of it. Here is this tiny man screaming at me and my child across the room. Everyone was staring at you. It is obvious you are an abusive man. You should be fired. One day, someone is going to teach you a well-deserved lesson. I tried explaining that I WAS, in fact, a customer, but you were too busy berating us. I regret the amount of money I spent there. Spend your money elsewhere. The entrees came out pretty quickly. Everything else was very mediocre. The food was a hit or miss. Some items were very delicious and others really missed. There was only one guy working the buffet stations so there was a small wait. The desserts were good but I wished there had been signs letting you know what they were. Our party of 15 had only one server. A party that size should've had two. Make sure to check the receipt bc we had extra charges as well as the price of drinks. read more

Views are beautiful on this 9th floor pool roof top overlooking the water. The food is average at best, with a high quality price tag. Drinks were very good and a bit pricey but appropriate. Came with a group of 10 during a busier weeknight and was rarely ever checked on by our waiter. Felt the upscale vibe, the service would be far better. read more

This was such a cool experience! Such a fancy restaurant, the pool closes when the restaurant opens! So the view while eating so peaceful quite (from the crowds in the pool, no kids screaming no yelling) just music and people talking and well of course the ocean on the other side just making it a relaxing atmosphere. I had a seared ahi tuna that was just not enough food for me, and would've gone with the Parrillada if I had known better! Terrazas is an interesting place. It moonlights as a pool-side restaurant, in an upscale hotel neighborhood, but has the ambiance of an almost-refined diner with the menu that doesn't make any sense. I'm not sure the team there understand what they are trying to do - and it shows. First, the service is definitely shoddy, we went twice (easy for lunch), had two different teams and they were both the same: All over the place. It wasn't very busy, nor was there tons of staff, but everyone was standing around the bar area chatting. That doesn't make for a solid dining experience. As for food, maybe try the flatbread? Or the Caesar salad. The BBQ chicken flatbread was exactly what you think. Nothing special, nothing new, nothing different. Gets the job done for a quick appetiser. The salad dressing was nice, light, but came from a lovely jar. As for the more authentic or different items, I wouldn't waste my time. The flavour of the other flatbreads, the barrata, burger, etc. were not worth it. I like the place for ease of the beach and pool, but if I'm in the area next time, I will definitely take a longer walk to a different spot. read more

5 Stars for the view - 1 Star for the Service & Food When we arrived at the resort, we went to the elevator area where we were given "restaurant only" wristbands and then directed to go to the 9th floor. Because the same elevator bay is used by all guests/ restaurant patrons... there was a bit of a crowd and it took a while to get up. Once arriving on the 9th floor, we walked to the bar area and took a seat so that we could take advantage of the happy hour going on. It took what seemed like forever for a server to come over (not because they were busy) and to get menus which was a bit frustrating but because the view was so nice... it made it easier to get over. One thing to note - it can get very very windy at the bar area up there so come prepared! Once we finally got menus, we decided to order a Vodka & Cran, a Gin & Tonic, the Chips & Dips as well as the sliders (2). The drinks were as you would expect, but the food was so underwhelming. The chips & dips (guac and hummus) came with stale chips and two very small sauce dishes with the dips (the hummus one being sideways and spilling across the chips). The sliders were also very meh and aren't something I'd ever order again. We originally intended to do dinner here, but quickly changed our mind after the appetizers were so poorly done. Come for drinks but don't stay for food! read more

For the price of this place, very disappointing! Valet check in was truly atrocious. The man who we dropped cars with was rude & unhelpful (oh and you get to pay $40 a day for that). An additional $21 if car was not picked up by noon. Burger and club soda at pool was $50. Fries weren't warm & medium well looked more like medium rare. Not nearly enough elevators for a building with approximately 40 floors. Like there were 5 elevators total; so expect long waits to get up & down to your room. Last but not least, only 1 beach pass given to each unit. That pass is kept by pool staff in order to get a towel. So if someone needs to go back to the room, you have to turn in all towels in order to get the pass back. If you're looking for a high end experience, GO TO THE FOUNTAINEBLEAU in Miami. This is a chill cozy restaurant right on the rooftop of the Hyde Hotel. To get to the roof you would have to pass though security first. Once on top, we were well greeted and we decided to sit inside since there wasn't anyone indoors since everybody was mainly sitting outside. The setting was cozy and who would have known that this place would have some books for decoration. As a book lover it is a nice touch even if they were just for decoration. The blackened Mahi Mahi was well made with good flavor. The Tuna tartare was delicious and love the mango on top.too. the whole experience was wonderful. read more

Everyone's meal was good. * valet at the hotel is $50 to visit the restaurant park in the back at the other valet just make sure you get your car in time. * can be casual or dress up type of place * drinks were pretty pricy at the bar. I hate to say that Terrazas was actually disappointing. This was an overpriced but completely underwhelming brunch buffet in Hallandale, at the Hyde. The best part of this brunch experience was the view, and modern decor but the food itself lacked flavor and was pretty basic for a $50 per person experience. They do have an omelette bar, can't complain since you can't go wrong with a made to order omelette, however, the pasta station was mediocre. Luckily I realized prior to making an order, that if you have shellfish allergies you should stay away from the pasta station since the cheese wheel in which the pasta is tossed in, is compromised. If you order shrimp, the shrimp is tossed in sauce in the "community " cheese wheel and there are no warning anywhere so if I had not seen it prior to making an order I would've probably had an allergic reaction. Terrazas management: please add an allergy warning to your pasta station! The servers and pasta/omelette station cook were very nice and professional. No complaints here. The buffet was constantly refilled and cleaned but the food was so mediocre it's not worth a second visit. read more

Initial service was nonexistent and followup to it was horrible, but nonetheless an amazing experience. First and foremost I want to thank Daniel our server for saving what was most definitely on the way to a horrible experience to an amazing dinner. We had a reservation for outside at 8:45pm and upon arrival we were not told to wait a little bit - our hostess just said "we only had inside seating at this moment" which was not what I had made my reservation for. I correct this detail and she tells me she meant not at that time, but had I not mentioned it, I would have lost the table that was meant for me for sure. She tells us to wait at the bar and someone will get us. We spend 15 mins at the bar, we see several tables and nothing is happening, so we have to hail the bartender and he calls the front, and someone comes up to us (manager type, dressy) and seats us, but leaves no menus or anything. And 15 more minutes pass by and people were getting seated and tended to, so we hailed a server... and Daniel just fully takes charge of the situation, and we had our appetizer within about three minutes of him asking us about our orders. The carpaccio was really good. I couldn't really tell what the vinaigrette was, but it complimented it very well and the portion was decent. There were a few slices that could have been made a bit thinner, but very good. The layered salad was PHENOMENAL. I am not much of a salad eater, but I could be easily converted with this. Eggplant, yellow zucchini, roasted pepper and a garlic and basic confit vinaigrette. The veggies had just the right amount of bite, and the flavors melded spectacularly. The Surf and Turf was so good. The lobster tail was extremely well cooked and the beef pieces were both prepared with the requested doneness. The au gratin potatoes were so good... I was trying to figure out which cheese was used on the inside but I couldn't. The asparagus had a little more bite than I was expecting but it was still cooked great. The brownie casserole was excellent, but what about that fragola gelato? It was not sweet at all, with a very concentrated strawberry flavor. I don't know if it was made in house, but it was some of the best gelato I've had in a while. The food and the service provided by Daniel would have made this an easy 5/5. The initial interaction was horrible, but Daniel was so attentive and the food was so good that this is a place I would love to go back to. read more

The food is standard, you pay $25 for a $3 burger. The food is ok, nothing special. Definitely waste of money. Service is good and bad. They are always watching so if you need something they're usually there. But again - always watching... rules are WAY to strict. My $25 drink could not be within 3 feet of the hot tub and they made me get out and go put it in a table?! Are you kidding?! Solid ambience and environment. I'd give this a 5/5 if the security wasn't overboard, acting like there's a potential 'kicking out' if your drink is one foot to close to an area they don't like. Big waste of money, extremely strict and always watching on if you bring a snack or perhaps your own drink and didn't know. But really cool rooftop pool scene. Mixed feelings read more
