YELP UPDATE AS OF OCTOBER 16, 2020
On or about May 5, 2020, I was involved in a collision with my friends 2014 Toyota Camry SE, licensed number 7HNY666.
On or about May 19, 2020, the insurance company, Alliance United inspected the vehicle and wrote a $4,798.91 repair estimate.
On or about July 1, 2020, I took the vehicle to Hollywood Collision Center (Hollywood) and met with who I thought was the Owner, Joe. I gave Joe a copy of the Alliance estimate and he said he would contact Alliance about the additional inspection.
On or about July 2, 2020, I received a call from Joe stating he filed for a supplement and was waiting on the Alliance adjuster.
On or about July 6, 2020, I was informed by Alliance that their adjuster had re-inspected his vehicle.
On or about July 11, 2020, I received a call from Joe that he received a supplement repair estimate from Alliance and will be starting the repairs. I asked for a copy of what repairs were going to be performed but Joe said he would give me the documentation at the end of the repair.
On or about July 24, 2020, I received my vehicle back from Hollywood after paying the $500.00 deductible.
On or about August 9, 2020, I sent Joe a text message that after getting the vehicle washed the front bumper cover was hanging off and water was seeping into the right headlight assembly that had to be damaged during their repairs.
On or about August 10, 2020, I took the vehicle back to Hollywood and met with Joe. Joe told me that he would fix the bumper cover issue with glue which didn't sound right to me. I asked to see all the parts invoices, but he refused. I contacted Alliance's adjuster and he emailed me a copy of his inspection photos. After reviewing the photos and the estimate I realized Hollywood did not replace the front bumper cover of the right front wheel and left the facility.
On or about August 11, 2020, I received a call from Joe stating he found that one of his employee's didn't order all the parts and requested he bring the vehicle back. I took the vehicle back and Joe said that he would replace the headlight assembly because they must have broken it during the repair process and put me in a rental.
On or about August 14, 2020, I received my vehicle back from Hollywood and again I asked Joe for a copy of the repair and parts invoices. Joe refused stating he didn't have access to the documents.
I contacted Alliance for help and was advised that if Hollywood would not resolve any of my issues to contact the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR).
On or about August 18, 2020, while driving my vehicle I had a problem with the vehicle pulling to the left. I took the vehicle to a tire shop thinking it was a wheel alignment issue and was told that there might be some suspension issues. I contacted Hollywood and asked again about getting a copy of all the documents pertaining to the repairs of my vehicle which Joe still refused.
On or about August 24, 2020, after I filed a complaint with the BAR one of their representative, Rick Jacoby inspected my vehicle and told me that some of the parts were not replaced.
To my knowledge, Hollywood was to repair my vehicle completely as per the Alliance estimate mentioned on the preceding line and I never agreed for them to not repair any items that were paid for on the Alliance estimate and claim.
I did not give Hollywood permission to bill for items not actually performed on my vehicle and I expected the repairs to be completed as charged, and to industry standards.
I expected if there were changes or items not performed completely as the Alliance claim, I would have been informed and Hollywood would have needed to have my consent/authorization to do so.
Since the time the repairs were performed at Hollywood, until the time my vehicle was inspected by the BAR, my vehicle has not been involved in any other accident or repairs.
I contacted mediation services on or before 09/11/2020
To resolve this issue before having to take the shop to small claims. Ultimately I settled on a price and the issue was resolved
This is an absolute horrible experience I hope nobody goes through this . Glad it's over read more
