Went here recently and it was horrible. The woman who did my pedicure was rude and the one who did my manicure literally ignored what I asked for, then gets annoyed when I asked again. Apparently the owner changed and it's obviously not the same service anymore. They want to do whatever they want and not what you actually request. I went to Hollywood nails today for the first time because my nail girl had carpal tunnel surgery and will be out for three months. I saw Sally and she recreated a picture that my girl is done on me before. They came out Perfect! There are some very small imperfections, but overall, I'm very happy. Recently changed name. Former owner (Amy) left about a year ago. Holding a $100 g.c. dated 12/7/24 ( not quite a yr old). Today I'm told they would not honor Hollywood Nails g.c.! What?!? Said they bought business but not liabilities?? Sounds like a scam particularly as they have a portfolio of customers phone numbers. They can text you asking for a review but can't text or put signs up, mention change of ownership so you CAN USE the card?!?? What kind of scam are they running here? I really wanted to like this place but I end up having red bumps on my legs and my feet are itchy. Maybe it was bad luck that I got the pedicure chair where a previous customer has something contagious (I really hope not!). I know I'm not allergic to what they use because I've used them many times in the past of the same brand. Anyways, I upgraded my pedicure to a deluxe spa pedicure for a special price at $35 (I tipped 30%) which included hot stone, foot mask, and two other things that I didn't get (probably because my feet doesn't need it). With the upgrade, picking a nail polish, painting, and time to dry, I was there for about fourty minutes. Pros: - prices are reasonable, though on the higher of the average in MA. Do I really care? Not really. I care more about quality. - clean atmosphere - staffs seem nice - there's parking - a lot of selection for shellac polish (great for those who get gel manicures!) - everything seems to be upgraded Cons: - not that much of a selection for regular nail polishes, at least not to me. This could be a personal thing where I'm used to a larger selection. - I got red bumps all over my legs. I'm using a steriod cream and hopefully it goes down. Would I come back? Probably not. They don't do good nails. I've gone 3 separate times and saw a different mail tech each time and got the same result. They apply the acrylic too thick, they make them curve, they don't know how to do many designs, and they don't shape nails well at all. DO NOT BE FOOLED by the pictures like I was. Updating as I've now gone back twice and had two additionally fantastic experiences with the powder dip. Kelly is the only one I'll make an appointment with...she's great at listening to the shape I like (as I don't love the traditional square or round options...I like the sharp oval shape), she listens when I ask that we go a little thinner when we sand them down and she pays meticulous attention to the cuticle line. When my nails grow out, there aren't lifted edges of the dip that catch on my hair or clothing. They also last...I changed my last color because I wanted a different color, not because there were any issues. I could have gone at least another week before getting a new dip. read more

I left Hollywood Nails extremely disappointed and felt disrespected throughout my entire time there. I originally made an appointment the day prior for my friend and I to treat ourselves to a mani pedi. I had read awesome reviews about the hot stone massage aspect and was intrigued. We arrived this morning at the scheduled time, letting the workers know we made an appointment and they all looked confused. Regardless they shooed us to a wall of nail polish and told us to pick a color. It appeared that they had a large gel selection, various Essie brand and a majority of OPI polishes. The polishes weren't labeled very well, and the presumed owner walked over to let us know that certain shelves cost $5 extra. We went with a basic mani pedi for $35 each. I got started with a disgruntled looking worker who got only more upset when water got splashed accidentally out of the pedicure tub onto the floor and slightly in her leg. I had wiggled my legs a little to feel the jets of the tub, causing water to overflow. She shouted rather loudly once or twice, telling me not to move, mumbled words in Vietnamese, and proceeded to clean up the water, huffing and puffing the entire way. My friend is Vietnamese and we made it a point to let them know- needless to say, she stayed pretty quiet after that. We then moved from the pedicure station to the manicure section. I was done before my friend and later, we were seated far apart from each other rather than stationed side by side. My nail technician also had her own nails done, so to prevent ruining her own manicure, she cleaned her bad paint job with a detailer brush dipped in acetone which still left edges sloppy. She then escorted me to the drying section, picked up my tote bag by one strap with my belongings nearly falling out, and placed it sideways rather than right side up on the chair next to me. She never checked on me afterward to see if my nails were done drying and we walked out of there awkwardly on our own. Very very poor experience and i strongly dont recommended coming here read more

I have to say I can't give a good review. I had a manicure and pedicure 2 days ago. The pedicure was okay but the manicure was awful. It looked like a kid painted my nails. First time coming to this salon, saw the beautiful nails posted on reviews but didn't expect to end up leaving a whole hour later. Went in and was told to wait a half and hour so I waited. While I was waiting they took other ppl before me that were walk ins. as i was waiting for an hour to be seated. When seated she filed my nails down and stopped and went to do another girls nails. I've been going to this salon for about two years and usually have had a great experience. However, the last time I went it was awful. It was not busy (around say 1PM), so I figured I'd get great service. I brought my 13 year old girls for a pedicure and I needed an acrylic fill in. They did a good job with the girls' pedicures. But they had a newbie do my fill-in. I asked where all the regular people were and the newbie told me that they were out back relaxing and having lunch. She was nice and and friendly, but Super rough with filing the sides of my nails. She was so rough, in fact, that she filed the real nails under the acrylic down so much that now all my cuticles are infected because the real nails are ALL swollen, red and ingrown. I am so upset that I will never go back there again. read more

Been coming here for a year and i really LIKED the place, until the last 2 times...i went as a walk in, since there's a sign that says WALK INS WELCOME, i got the rudest reaction from the manager and the staff. I even asked I'm sorry for not making an appointment i can come tomorrow. Then crickets. They started laughing and talking in their language which quite frankly is extremely rude. Amazing and wonderful staff!! I live in downtown Boston, but I make the 40 minute trek to Weymouth JUST to get my nails done at Hollywood Nails. The quality of the gel manicure is top-notch and I barely get any chips even after three weeks! I recently started taking my daughter with me when I get my nails done (no easy feat with a toddler!) and the staff have always accommodated us and even entertain my little one so I can enjoy and relax. I have considered moving to Weymouth just so I could be closer to this gem! I would give 10 stars if I could! read more

Not the best experience. We made an appointment the day before and arrived 10 minutes early to pick out our color. We then had to wait for over 30 minutes to even be seated in our pedicure chairs. I took my mom here to treat her to get her nails done and both of our toes are completely chipped in less than a week. The experience felt rushed like they shouldn't have taken an appointment if they were planning on doing all of the closing activities while we were still sitting in our chair. Came here for a pedicure after hearing good things, and I'm glad I went! The people who work there are very nice. They talk to each other more than you, but that's OK with me, as I just like to relax anyway. For only $20 I got my toenails trimmed and painted, all of my calluses buffed away and a hot stone leg massage. Everything looked clean and sanitary and they cut my toenails the "right" way to prevent ingrown nails (straight across, not curved). The place was packed and people were waiting, so I'd suggest making an appointment. Ask for Kelly or Ann (the owner), though I'm sure they're all great. I sometimes feel icky about places that charge so little, because I feel that the employees may not be making a fair wage. But business is definitely booming here, so I hope that's the reason they are so affordable. I try to tip well just in case, which I'm happy to do because they did such a great job. read more

A group of friends and I stopped by Hollywood Nails this weekend, four of us getting pedicures and the other getting a shellac manicure. The manicurists (and chairs) at Hollywood Nails made our afternoon! The massage chairs were relaxing, sometimes awkward, yet fun; and the pedis were quite thorough with a foot rub and stone message, all for just $35. Our feet and nails were looking great! (Too bad it's still March in New England, so we won't be able to show off the great craftsmanship that went into them.) As I mentioned, one of my friends got the shellac--HOT! But then there are pros and cons to it, so do your research first. All in all I'd definitely go back to Hollywood Nails again. read more

Hollywood Nails is what I consider to be 'down the middle of the road'. The girls who work here are pleasant, hardworking and excel in their trade. No problem/s there. Manicures, fills, pedicures, hot rocks, massage chairs, lotions are all here. Boy they feel good. An abundance of polish colors decorate the back wall. No shortage of choices. Plenty of staff & plenty of patronage. Seems like everyone working here has a license (some salons have inspections and get 'tickets/perr/employee' for those working w/o license. BE CAREFUL. The 'owner' of Hollywood Nails, I find to be quite greedy and maybe the worst scheduler on the earth. Once while there a little girl who had chosen her nail color & given it to technician had technician 'talked her out of color of choice'. When technician's color was finished, little girl didn't like it. Told her mom who was taking a pedicure. Mom called owner over and told her what happened. Owner would NOT change color for free.....insisting it would cost $5.00. {That's the greed' to which I refer to.} Appointment times? Close but no bullseye. SATURDAY? Don't bother. Full of customers. TV {are 2} but owner doesn't know how to work remote control. Parking not a problem. Long hours. read more

Got the gel nails here. Came out really well. Get compliments on them all the time. Been about 3 weeks and polish looks great shines etc. This place is always swamped, they do good work, have good prices but I don't think really anyone understands English too well here which is sad and makes you feel a little bit like it's a factory and not a spa experience. However, that said the massage chairs and pedicure was really nice. One of the best I've had. Lots of people in this place all the time. Expect to be there for a bit if your getting a mani and a pedi. read more

*sigh* I so wanted to like this place enough to make it my regular salon... I called ahead went in for a french pedicure and shellac manicure last Saturday. I am 7mos pregnant and the technician assigned to me was very careful and sweet, at first. HOWEVER... I had asked for very thin french tips on my toes- She did her thing and asked 'Is this okay?' The tips were literally 1/4" thick...Gross. I asked her to take them back a lot more (like 50%) and she proceeded to take very little off and ask again. We did this exchange four times before I gave up trying to get them even remotely the way I wanted. She then proceeded to question the persistence of my request, "Why do you want them so thin?!" (In my mind: Because I like them like that and it's never been a problem before... Is that okay with you?) In spite of being frustrated, I continued to be patient and would never be anything short of kind with someone who has to deal with my scary feet. Then we move on to the shellac manicure. I had picked a light clear pink (a very common shellac color). The technician told me it was too light and that it's not the color I want. She proceeded to try and get me to pick a glitter or foil-purple option. I just wanted good old plain, clear pink like I always have! She continued to question my preferences as we went along with the manicure. We finished up and I gave her a huge tip in spite of the fact that we had our differences... Perhaps she caught me on a wacky pregnant lady day or something. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Immediately I notice that my cuticles are peeling up and my the tips of my nails are rough and catch on everything I touch. Awesome! FOUR DAYS later (Tuesday) the shellac starts peeling up. Aren't these supposed to last at least a week?! I have a wedding to go to on Sunday. Wth! I go in to fix them today, and the technician that fixes them is sweet, does a great job, and does not charge me (I tip her for her time). The technician that had first taken care of me is there. When the technician doing the repairs gets up for a moment, the other technician takes the opportunity to say to me "I TOLD you that color is too light..." As if the issue was originally my fault! I told her that the color of the paint has nothing to do with the quality of work, and that light pink has never been a problem for me in the past. Right off the bat, she was incredibly defensive and for what reason? I don't know. The main point: Avoid the technician that sits furthest from the door if you know what you want and you don't like to be criticized. Other than that, Hollywood Nails is great! I went here for the first time today. My husband bought me a gift cert for a mani and pedi for Mother's Day. It was a great experience. They were swamped when my friend and I arrived at 1030 on a Saturday(walk-in). We were seated for our pedis in 15 minutes. The staff was very friendly and nice. The massage chairs are great. The pedi was amazing, best I've had. They massage your legs with this exfoliating scrub, buff away the dry skin, scented lotion massage,and cut, trim, and paint toe nails. It was great. The mani was great too. My nails look great and I'm super happy. The place was very clean and affordable, $35 for mani and pedi. This is my new go to nail salon. read more

Although one of the new women is so rough, she buffed my toes so rough that she cut my skin =( and also cut me nails so short it looked like I bit them off (they are acrylic) disappointing. I booked an appointment 1 1/2 hours in advance for a pedicure. When I arrived I was immediately seated in one of their chairs with massage. The woman began within 10 minutes of my arrival even though they looked very busy. It was your basic pedicure with the addition of an individual choice of scented lotion (great because I generally don't like a lot of scents), and a hot stone leg massage included. Overall, I spent a little over an hour including drying time. It was a solid pedicure but not the best I've ever had. The cost was $25 + tip (which you can not add to your credit card). read more

This place is great! I loved every second of my pedicure... I got a French pedicure for $30 with leg exfoliation, hot rocks, and warm oil massages. It was so relaxing and it was just what I needed after a long week at work. I have paid $35 for less than mediocre pedicures at other places, and it makes me appreciate this place even more. They are a small and attentive business, very aware of their quality as opposed to rushing through their pedicures. I spent an hour here with my mother and loved every minute. Three words: Best. Manicure. Ever. There is a reason that this is one of the busiest salons I've ever been to. They provide great service - and your nails look fabulous for weeks after. I found this salon (which is way off the beaten path for me) on Yelp after a so-so manicure a month earlier. I was attending a wedding and wanted a classic french mani/pedi that would make it through the wedding date without chipping or peeling - and this salon absolutely delivered. Despite the crowds I was seated (as a walk-in) right away and was treated to a wonderful pedicure. The nail tech working on my hands and feet was absolutely meticulous in her attention to detail and my feet and legs looked (and felt!) new again. Despite all the attention to detail, she worked quickly and I was ready for a manicure in about a half hour. The manicure was another revelation. I keep my nails (relatively) short because I am hard on my hands (lots of computer work, gardening without gloves, etc.) and there is really no point in longer nails--they will routinely break. But this nail tech understood exactly how much french white polish to put on to give the nails the impression of length without making the french look ridiculously large. I couldn't believe how sleek and finished my hands and nails looked after she was done. Best of all, the polish lasted more than a week with nary a chip in sight! Absolutely 100% worth a stop.There is a reason this salon is packed (even on a weekday) - the friendly techs do great work! read more

I went to Hollywood Nails for a dip manicure, which I have had several times at other locations. Unfortunately my technician was so sloppy with her application that I couldn't relax the entire time. My fingertips were crusty with residual polish/dip around the cuticle and under the nail when she was finished, and I left already looking forward to a new manicure somewhere else. I have visited the salon a few times for services with Kelly. I was very pleased with the her work, as I am very particular and picky. I found it good value. I made an appointment this morning with Kelly for a regular manicure. Showed up at 10:47 and checked in. At 10:05 I was told that Kelly had another appointment at 11:00. And they tried to switch me to another operator. I was very, very disappointed. I clearly stated when I had called, "11:00am with KELLY." I don't know if the language difference caused the mistake, or the fact that the other woman sitting next to me was having a service much more expensive than mine. This salon is not anywhere close to where I live. This incident was highly inconvenient. I do not think I'll be going back. I've gone to many nail salons over the years and have also reviewed a lot of them. I was in search for a new salon after my old favorite in Braintree is under new owners once again and the quality of the service has dropped. Hollywood Nails was close and had a lot of decent reviews from yelp and from friends. They were all right. This salon was great. I received a mani/pedi for $35 and it was worth it for the massage alone. Oil and hot stone massage at the end of the pedicure was perfect. Both polishes stayed on a few days longer than normal which was appreciated. The color selection has many brands, but not as many shades as I would have liked. I tend to get hang nails/messy cuticles after a manicure but after this one everything was fine. I would definitely recommend going in if you can. Mostly walk ins, so don't worry about an appointment. read more

These gals do a great job! I never have to wait, they're quick and efficient, and as far as I can tell, clean. They're super kind and don't chat too much. Prices are great for the quality! My only complaint would be that sometimes when I get gel, when it grows out a bit, it isn't smooth at my nail bed but rather jagged and thick which can cause it to peel. But for a $15 gel change, I don't lose sleep over it. read more
