Hollywood Smoke is everything I hoped it would be and more. I've been wanting to come here for a long time, and my wife and I finally made it in--and wow, what an experience. Greg, the owner, truly knows his cigars. You can immediately tell he's passionate and incredibly knowledgeable, and his recommendations made for an amazing smoke. Beyond that, the conversation was just as enjoyable as the cigar itself. The atmosphere felt like family. Everyone knew each other, people were welcoming, and it never felt intimidating or pretentious--just relaxed, genuine, and comfortable. My wife and I had such a great time hanging out, talking, and soaking in the vibe. This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. I have been to Hollywood Smoke a few times already and have nothing but good to say about it. The ambiance inside the shop is classy, but also not in your face. The owner also a cigar wizard. Lounge has a large selection and he could give you the background on any cigar your point at. Overall great smoke and service. read more

*** Serendipity best describes this spot. *** I discovered it by chance as we left 31 Ten. She said "wow, can you smell that aroma?" I said "oh, you can't miss it; it's cigar smoke". She says "I do not really smoke but ... well?" I said "hello serendipity, pleased to see you." Decor Very warm. Handsome. Comfy. Loungey. I particularly enjoyed the choice of artwork. Humidor Great selection, both brand and vintage. Shopkeeper is extremely knowledgeable. Prices are steep ... $15-20/cigar average. I can recall when my dad could buy a box of El Producto Favoritas (25pcs) for ~$16. (lol) Apparently, those days all long gone. Clientele A very relaxed group of guys. We were visiting LA for a few days, escaping the AZ heat, & my Husband always wants to check out local Cigar lounges. The decor is beautiful, but the real standout is the owner, Greg. This guy is the salt of the Earth. He's, as we say in my hometown, "good people". The location is only open for delivery and take out now, but, he is so accommodating, even with those challenges. Support this business and keep it open, because We cannot wait to return to experience this place "live". read more

The owner is a liar and a thief. Please read through as the owner absolutely destroyed any modicum of cigar shop etiquette. My party entered into the establishment to see a wonderful walk in humidor with at least 50 packs and boxes of vintage Viaje. Like holy this guy has some seriously good stuff. The owner helps us pick a smoke, knowing we like to smoke HTF stuff. All's cool. We shared our sticks and booze. He handed a stick to each of us, a Hawaii Regional Viaje, but started to lie about it's origins. We should have seen the signs then, but we would have never guess what was to come. We had an excellent time, that is before we went to check out. I had a box of 648 Late Harvest Hangtimes in my sight. The other guy I was with was eyeing the OR HHGs. When it came down to business here's what happened. I went first, wish I had gone last. I tell him that I recently purchased the same box for $450 before tax. We go back and forth and he starts complaining about CA tax. These f*ing sticks were released before the CA tax went into effect, AND it was written into the tax bill that there will be no floor tax on existing product. However he kept bitching about it. He then said he could sell them for $50 a stick, and I looked him dead in the eye and said, "well do that then, and I won't buy them." Next he started saying the box was OR. I showed him pix of the box I purchased back in October/November, told him there was absolutely no date stamp, and how it was the first Late Harvest with a secondary band. They were 2013, not 2010 like he was trying to claim, and I 100% knew it. I was actually hoping they were 2012 or 2013 because they were both phenomenal years for Viaje's Late harvest line. I was finally able to prove it with a Halfwheel article. I kept telling him that I know a shop that still has 648's and 550's, and I could easilly get them for $450 after tax. Finally he asked if I was okay with $500. I was trying to give a small business owner some cash, and I agreed. Then the total came up to over $550. I wasn't going to cry over an extra $10 after tax, so I just brushed it off. Next guy wants a LE box he needs for his collection, and the box of HHG Rapiers. We offered a fair price for each box, and had us around $800 for the two boxes, one of which was only 5 collector sticks. The owner kept insisting he could get $75 a stick easy for the HHGs, and wanted well over $1000 for the HHGs alone and another $500 for the 5 stick collector's box. We declined both, and went to settle up for our cigar from earlier. Here's where the Owner absolutely stole from us. That one Viaje Regional, the one the owner handed us, the one we never asked for because we really didn't care about it... He charged my two guys who didn't buy a box for the stick. After we also handed him vintage cigars from our personal collection. He charged them each $30 for that stick, along with the one stick we picked out ourselves. This is an absolutely unforgivable act of greed by the owner. I didn't learn about it until after we left, or I would have not walked out with my box and demanded a refund on the spot. To the owner, when you see this, you stole from my friends. You do not hand customers a stick they never asked for and then charge them for it when they won't buy a box at more than 500% markup. You sir are what is absolutely horrible about our hobby, and I sincerely hope that you never sell your Viaje. I wish nothing but the best for your patrons, but they honestly don't know how shadily you are doing business. I have NEVER been treated this way in my smoking career of over two decades. If you charged each of us 75% markup, like you did me, We would have easily spent well over $6k that night. We would have posted your business all over our forums and praised your kindness. You could have sold those sticks to individuals who believe it is wrong to sell cigars to others for more than what we spent who hate the secondary just as much as you. I will even put my well known cigar forums handle on this so people who are in the serious part of the hobby know who is writing this. I stake my reputation on this review. I am ThaHelp and EnbyCigarFawx. I assure you that you will never see business from our forum members ever again. read more

This cigar shop is AMAZING. My friend and I were visiting from out of town and she wanted to stop by a cigar. As soon as we entered, the energy was amazing. She was a cigar pro but I was not... Gregorio a.k.a Greg educated me on cigars and I was smoking like a chimney in no time..lol...We had amazing company, great conversations and amazing cigars. I think we were there for 2-3 hours. He Is amazing and his shop has the best, most welcoming atmosphere. read more

"Cool" I thought. Found a cigar near the Marina Del Rey area. Hoped in a car with a couple of people and drove over. Found the place, able to park and headed in. Cigar selection was fair. Seems they stock more of the off brand types than the typical brands which is fine to me. For off brands, prices are pretty expensive. Since we weren't that familiar with the brands, we asked for assistance in selecting a smoke. Person working there was very friendly but wasn't really thrilled with his selection. Nice to be able to sit down in a place and smoke a cigar. BUT NO BAR! WTF! Sorry, I want to have a good beer or strong cocktail with my stogie. But non of that. Next time in MDR, I will be looking for someplace else (unless they get a liquor license). read more

Hollywood Smoke is a comfy cigar lounge right on Main that features overstuffed leather chairs and couches that are worn in the most wonderful way. Well stocked humidor, cigar art on the walls, and plenty of high-end (Lamborghini? Wow) lighters, cutters and other accessories...and a rack of watches...a true man cave. It's usually safe to judge a spot by it's clientele. HS has a friendly group of regulars (many hugged ea other goodbye when they rolled out), the Governator (yes, HIM), and couples (meaning I was not the only woman there, woo hoo!). Amidst the Hollywood drama, HS is a island of drama-free robusto heaven. He simply doesn't put up with it. Here, celebrities and rookies are treated exactly the same. I, being a rookie, love that. Greg (owner) pretty much rocks. He didn't laugh, smirk or raise an eyebrow when I ordered an Acid. Instead, this consummate professional simply said, I've got something better for you. Viaje. Red Label. YES. These guys know their stuff - he gave us recommendations and detailed background on the cigars we ordered. Sounds like Greg will be opening a lounge soon immediately behind HS, so you can make it a complete night. He gave me a break on my purchase...and invited me to some upcoming events they have. Sooooo nice to be welcomed so nicely....customer service is alive and well. Thank you Hollywood Smoke. Like Arnold, I'll be back. read more

This is one of my fave cigar lounges. Located in Santa Monica on Main St. The owner Greg is very nice, friendly and welcoming and so is Devon the manager. There is a good variety of cigars to choose from and the price is right. One of the very few shops I can find Liga Privada #9; one of my fave full bodied smokes. The restrooms are located in the rear, they are always clean and smell fresh. I've met some real cool ppl here. The shop is well ventilated so when the doors are closed you can still breathe. A great place to come and chill after a stressful work day or after shopping / dining on the Main St. Oh, the leather chairs are comfy too. read more

Top notch space & crew. It's a little tight but that's part is the charm. Owner & staff are friendly and very helpful. This is my new spot in LA. The bad is they are overpriced on EVERYTHING. A cheap firebird lighter I buy everywhere else for $10 they pimp for $30. Huge markups. Great cigar selection though and real chill. Your never rushed. read more

Gotta love a Cigar Lounge "where everybody knows your name." Greg and his staff are always helpful and kind, always treating a female cigar smoker with the utmost respect. I settled in nicely in a comfy leather lounger with a Romeo y Julieta while my friend enjoyed a Rocky Patel. The walk-in humidor has plenty to choose from and if you don't know what you want the staff is more than happy to help you pick something out to meet your taste. Greg Shahbazian is amazing. Having never endulged I walked in lost and curious. Understanding I was a novice Greg helped me pick the right cigar then proceeded to show me how to open with the cut. Then tasting the flavors through a dry suck before lighting. My first experience with a stogie was great. I have found a new experience and looking forward to the next. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back even though my friend and I were the only females in the lounge. Ladies don't feel intimidated... As a cigar enthusiast, I always find a local cigar lounge when traveling and Hollywood Smoke did not disappoint! The selection was immense and I had two (2) Rock Patel #60. Couldn't have asked a better way to ring in 2017! My boyfriend and I randomly stumbled upon this gem while trying to find a place to celebrate New Year's. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Austin, who was outstandingly helpful when we were trying to find the best cigar for our tastebuds. Since we're both whiskey drinkers, Austin picked out a couple of cigars that he thought would be the most fitting; I went with a mild but creamy cigar while my boyfriend got a more smokey type of cigar. After purchasing our cigars, we grabbed a couple of chairs and lounged with a couple of regulars and the owner. The hospitality we received was nothing but amazing. We decided to stay for the ball drop while drinking and smoking our cigars. Greg, the owner, had stories for days with just about everything you can think of and treated his customers like they were family. He even popped a bottle of champagne to toast to the new year! If you're looking for a cigar lounge or even a place to purchase some great quality cigars, there's no hesitation that this is the spot to go to in Santa Monica. Greg and Austin are the men who can treat you well! Hollywood Smoke is definitely on my 'have to' list of places to go whenever I'm in Southern California. It should be yours too! read more

After a good night across the street at the Library Ale House, my friend and I headed into Hollywood Smoke. Like a bakery, the smell of tobacco and cigar smoke precedes your arrival. The owner is a great guy. If you've never had a cigar before, ask and he will recommend you something. I was in the mood for something short and sweet. He followed up with, "Candy sweet or tobacco sweet?" I replied, "Tobacco sweet." He pulled out a stellar option that was within the price range we were looking to spend. I've smoked Cuban cigars before and have to say that this was much more my taste (and not contraband or as expensive). Then we sat down on over-sized leather chairs and sat back and relaxed, indoors. There aren't any drinks, but you can go upstairs to the club or the coffee shop, get something and come back, no problem. I was very pleased with my experience here and would definitely head back to get a special cigar or to spend a nice evening after a good meal with friends. He's open until 11pm most evenings (but was kind enough to let us stay until midnight). read more

I have had them every time now because they are the best. I have seen complaints about the $100 minimum per person, but if you get a cocktail, cigar and bits it won't be an issue. Also, it's not a walk up bar so make sure you make a reservation to assure access.

Parking is surprisingly convenient, with public parking structures right outside the venue. They were only a few dollars an hour, and the first 90 minutes were almost free, which is a great bonus. The surrounding area is also lovely and very walkable.

You come here to grab quick drinks when you don't feel like being at a loud dive bar in the area, it's in a hotel but not too upscale, no strict dress code.
