The only downside I see is that the parking lot next to it doesn't belong to them according to the person I bought my ticket from. I have mobility issues so I park in ADA and did so. The lot has a ton of tow notices clearly stating customer parking only, but the building seems up for lease. And when I went back to my car, there was a very graffiti covered bent sign, which looked like it was saying parking for the theater. I'm paranoid because some of those tow companies are straight up scary. Just saying park at your own risk. The bathroom... clean, easy to navigate with soap, easy to use sink and you get to wipe your hands. Concessions - yes! And thank you for having such a great selection, actual ice, fountain soda... delicious popcorn that was fresh... and Bravo to the sweetheart responding to my epic butter request by demonstrating how heavy the bag was.... I love you so much! The prices are completely great too! I am always scared going in to a new space, especially when I am going to be sitting down in that seat for 2 hours. What a great surprise this was - when I picked the seat on the screen, the guy said he felt the ADA seat was really the best seat in the theater at Laurelhurst. After sitting down, I agree - the view was perfection and the seat was amazingly comfortable.

Our theater had a medium-sized screen - felt like a long, relatively narrow seating area. We were towards the back and it was a good experience. If I came again, I'd want to sit closer to the middle. There wasn't even a second option to pick out of 2 movies at least. We watched Black Phone 2 with good quality movie projector. Only 1 movie and 3 showtimes per day. 12 or 12:30pm, 3:30pm & 7pm. Just wish they'd add different showtimes throughout the day for a second movie to play in the same theater.

The quick and dirty: 1. the price of refreshments is like the olden days, and they served free popcorn (yeah!), a $1 for a can of soda pop, and candy is priced 'normally'; 2. the seats are very comfy (even if they look old and oft used, a good sign in my mind!); and 3. the bathrooms (limited to 3 for women and not cross-gendered, which seems old-fashioned for a university level theater) are clean. What more do you want but an enjoyable experience! We had heard of the movie they featured that evening through the grapevine. I am going to follow their website to see what other gems they will be featuring in the future. Though we did not park, taking the 2.5 hour ticket for public trans--which is excellent in Portland by the way--we traveled to and back home on the one purchase. Super! They play all different types of movies and I would say if you are the adventurous person who wouldnt mind trying something "different" for a date night, why not. If you get there early it's a little less awkward since food is brought to your seat. In a darkened theatre with ottomans and little tables filling up the aisle, it's quite disruptive to order or receive food during the film, so see something that you don't really care about missing lines of dialogue. You'd think someone would have thought of this when designing this place. Maybe have an aisle for wait staff behind the seats so the waiter can get in and out more easily with less disruption to other patrons? Secondly, food is average and overpriced. I ordered a 3-item snack tray ($19) which included an artisan cheese plate, 3 deviled eggs and flatbread. The cheese was not "artisan" in any way, shape or form, the flatbread was limp, and the deviled eggs were ok. My husband and I also split a large popcorn ($15). A 10-oz glass of wine was also $15. Regarding the seats and movie experience itself, the seats are different depending upon what seat numbers you choose, but you can't really know that until you enter the theatre and see them. It would be helpful if seating styles were better explained on the website at the time of ordering. Lastly, the house lights and some bright screens on the side wall were lit up before the credits rolled, making the credits impossible to read. As movie lovers, we always stay for and read the credits, and they are a part of the film. Leave the lights and screens OFF until the movie is done! Needless to say, we won't be back again, and we didn't find this movie going experience to be 'special' at all; more like awkward and uncomfortable. If that's what you're into, you'll love it!

The sound wasn't the best but as we were one pod from the back row of pods I wasn't expecting any miracles related to sound. Entering from Moody as a pedestrian could probably benefit from a crosswalk from the sidewalk side of the street to the gravel pathways leading up to the entry-tent. Also, the road to seating, (as well as everything inside) is hella gravelly with big rocks - so shoe appropriately for walking on medium rocks! You'll thank me later! People are still mostly not clumping seriously in these covid times. The social distancing wasn't oppressively enforced though so, you still get the vibe of being at a concert without being too distant from your fellow peoples. There was a bag check and parking (although we didn't use the parking). There's a couple varieties of chairs in the lot and it seems mostly random which chair style you'll get as well as the pod style of your personal pod (lumber vs. the picket fencing). We all get the glorious astroturf! There was one food truck. One amenities for purchase stand (sunscreen, etc). And a beer/wine truck. We were super grateful for the sunscreen as spousie forget theirs. Everything was e-payment only. On the whole, it was just nice to be around people/at a concert again! The pods are evenly spaced. The bathrooms are about a dozen porta potties. They do an exceptional job of keeping them clean, even when they have had shows for several days in a row. They have a beer/wine booth, a booth for candy and general items and have two food vendors set up (although only one of them has been operating the last two shows we went to). We have really enjoyed every show we've seen there. My only complaints are that they sell pre-packaged popcorn rather than popping their own. Given how much they have pulled off in making a gravel lot into a comfortable venue, I feel like a popcorn machine should be within their abilities. Also, their screen has a couple discolored segments which was a little distracting while watching a black and white movie. Things to know: 1) There is no cover in the pods, but the sun usually passes behind the hills soon after the show starts. It can also get chilly after dark. 2) It is a gravel lot so be sure to wear thick soled shoes. The stones can be uncomfortable to walk on otherwise. 3) They do allow sealed water bottles but require reusable or open bottles be dumped out before entry. 4) They will check you bag or purse.
