Honestly wasn't expecting much from this place but I found it to be quite charming. Was glad to see how busy it was too. Saw Backrooms here which was cool. The charms: -super friendly staff, really attentive also -tasty concessions including cherry coke -general admission seating, first come first serve as it should be -comfy seats with adjustable armrests for larger individuals -the theatre seems well taken care of in terms of cleanliness and repairs -easy parking Less charming: -I didn't care for the teenagers interrupting the movie with their Snapchat notifications and going to the bathroom every 10 minutes but that wasn't the theatre's fault, just something to note about the other clientele if you're planning on going there. read more

We came in tonight to watch the movie Nope. There was horrible sound issue. Loud screeching that caused my family to have ringing in our ears. We waiting for over 20 minutes for movie to start. We decided to go to another movie. THIS movie key wasn't working so it never started. We came out after waiting 45 minutes. Asked for refund for another movie. Was told NO by multiple workers. They were so rude and lacked any customer service. I have been a loyal customer for 15 years. I hope the manager/owner reads this and make this situation right. I am not one to make open complaints very often, but I will say that I am absolutely disgusted with the way my friends and I were treated at this theater last night. I have lived in this area for 24 years and have attended many shows here. I do not have anything negative to say about the theater overall. I walked in to see a quiet place part 2 with some friends. We get our popcorn and drinks and head into the theater. Things are very different with the pandemic, which is TOTALLY understandable, but there were so many seats taped off and hardly enough for any of us to sit at, like they knew how many people were attending the movie when we bought our tickets, so they should be prepared for how many seats are vacant or not. We finally found a group of seats available in the back and sat there. We still had to be separated, so most of my friends were in the very back row and then me and two of my other friends sat in front of the rest, one of them accidentally sitting on 1 of the taped off chairs. There was a group of 4 teenagers sitting in front of my 3 friends and I. Well into the movie, a lady sitting in the same row as the teenagers but not with them, gets up and leaves the theater, then walks back in seconds later and takes her seat. A young worker shortly comes in after and approaches my row. She first kindly stated that we cannot sit on the taped seats, so we all checked our seats. My one friend saw that she accidentally sat on the tape and gladly moved to one more available seat in the back with the rest of the group. My other friend and I were sitting on completely vacant seats with no yellow tape on them, so why would the 2 of us need to move? My other friend and I remained seated in our vacant seats. The lady in the theater then gets up a second time I guess to make another complaint, and the worker came marching back in up to our row. Her tone was aggressive and absolutely disrespectful while she stated she already told us once to move and we didn't listen, as if she didn't hear us the first time we thought we had cleared the air. I then proceeded to say that it was obvious 1 of my friends moved, but the other two chairs we were sitting on had no tape on them, so we still didn't know what the issue was? She then shook her head at us and claimed we move, completely dodging my question and logic. She just continued to say snotty things like "well that's too bad", not acknowledging the two empty seats we were in. The lady in the other row then shouted at us to not sit behind her kids in a disrespectful manner. Now I am pissed. A) the worker could have told us the TRUTH that someone didn't want us sitting behind their "kids" like a reasonable and honest person would do, or B) the Karen havin ass bitch in the other row could have calmly approached me or one of us about her "issue" in a respectful manner, then maybe I would have been a little more understanding. In conclusion, I understand there are guidelines and regulations that every business needs to follow during the pandemic. I work a full time job that can be very draining and I have to deal with the public all day too. But maybe keeping track of which seats you tape off before each show could be a good suggestion to avoid this scenario again. I will not be policed on where I can and cannot sit IF IT ISN'T FUCKING TAPED OFF. The fact that a worker allowed a stranger to dictate that & then lie to ALL of our faces about the issue is nothing short of horrifying and disgusting to me. Move YOURSELVES if you don't want people "too close" to you, or don't go to a fucking movie theater where there are other people if you're going to be a stupid bitch? I will gladly make the extra drive out to other theaters if this is how I will be treated in my own community. Respect: it isn't that hard of a concept. Honesty: also not a hard concept. If someone gives me the opposite, I will absolutely make a complaint. Get a grip! I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Typical movie theatre. We are from out of town. Kind of grimmy. Walked into several employees standing around. One girl was licking food out of a food boat...while up front with all the other food and drinking out of a soda cup with no lid. I mean, I get being hungry but theres a place and the health codes probably say its not around the food and their should be hand washing. The theater is clean, everything still looks brand spanking new. You have to buy your tickets at the concession stand rather then the window, which makes it convenient. Most the employees are very helpful and considerate. Only once I had a semi-rude young lady who charged me for the 3-D ticket instead of a regular ticket. My fault for not being specific. I am one of the rare people that can not see 3-D. I did not realize that there were 2 different prices for either theater but the price made me aware. I questioned it and determined I needed the other theater rather then the 3-D movie. Boy was she put out. You'd think I would have bought 30 tickets and made her refund and re-rung up all new ones. She wouldn't look at me or tell me what theater was I was to go to (not listed on the ticket). I had to ask the young man next to her, who graciously told me which theater it was playing in. Not impressed. The theater constantly smells musty the 3 times I have visited including last night. Went to see"Monster Hunter" in Theater 7. We get to the last 20 minutes of the film and the screen goes black. At first thought it was just a glitch. I go upfront to be told by a gentleman (possibly a manager) that Theater 7 has been acting up all day and that the movie is over. I initially thought this was a joke but nope. They offered a bag of popcorn as a refund... So, if you come here beware they could have issues in the theater you are seeing, they will knowingly sell you tickets,it could cut off and as compensation you can get a bag of popcorn. read more

Went here tonight to see "The Town" and it has been quite a while since I went to the movies. But gotta say that the cinema was very clean, large and comfortable. The chairs moved a bit so it was pretty comfortable. My only complaint would be that since it is now Fall they need to change the air over from air conditioning! Use to work for them. Wouldn't recommend them at all. The movie seats never get cleaned at all. The hots dogs are left on there all day. At least with gas station or 7/11 they throw there's out every 4 hours but not them at all. The ice maker in back and in front never get cleaned at all. At least working at fast food the ice bin gets dump every night and the inside gets cleaned. The way they bring the ice from the back to the front the bucket never gets cleaned and it sits on top of the ice machine. The owner trys to get dirt on other employees. The new head manager talks shit about the other old manager. Really save your money on go to St Helen or even AMC or Regal. Also theater one or two has mold growing on the curtain. But yiu can see it because it's dark in the theater. Oh yea the guys bathroom toilet seats are so loose sooner or later someone is going to get hurt because they will break. read more

Last week I saw Avitar at the Scappoose Cinema 7. I was impressed that in a small town like Scappoose they would have a theater that was able to show the movie in 3D with the glasses. The seats were comfy and the screen & sound were great. Now, here's my reason for not giving it a 5 star rating. The popcorn was awful!!!! Ok folks, how hard is it to have popcorn that doesn't taste and have the texture of 3 day old popcorn? Oh yeah, we asked for butter too, but I swear there wasn't any on it. Hey, even the fake oily stuff most theaters put on it would have made this cardboard stuff taste better. I guess the only good thing about the popcorn was that I didn't have to use a lot of napkins to keep wiping off the oil. read more

I like to go to the latest showings on Friday and Saturday nights. My question is why should I have to pay full price for old cold popcorn. I'm paying the same as other customers that attend the earlier showings that get fresh popped corn. I love this theater! I recently moved to the area, and I was so happy to have a nice theater nearby. The employees are very friendly and polite, the snacks are lower priced than most theaters, the restrooms are modern and clean, the theater seats are comfortable, and the ticket prices are reasonable. Nice, newer movie theater though perhaps not as ritzy as the bigger theaters in the Portland area. I'm glad there's finally an option for more movies in the St Helens area, but if you're visiting from out of town I strongly recommend choosing the Columbia Theater in St Helens over this generic movieplex in Scappoose. The Columbia is a beautiful, historic theater that will make you feel like you ha a "movie experience". The Scapooose Cinema will just get you "a movie". read more

If you like or LOVE caramel corn, you MUST try Chuck's Caramel Corn. It is made in Scappoose and is far better than any caramel corn I've ever had. The theatre itself is clean, well maintained and spacious for the area. HOWEVER, twice now I have checked their website for show times, driven 1/2 hr (live out beyond St Helens) only to be told on arrival that either the movie is no longer showing OR if showing, not at the times listed on the website due to new movies starting. If you can't get decent information from the website, and just get a recording to check website if you call, then website should be kept up to date! read more

It's a brand new AMC that doesn't charge a fortune and has all the same great features of the AMC in Burbank California, without the lines and the obnoxious industry people! The building is new, stadium seating, surround-sound, 3D movies shown, prices are great, and its walking distance from my house!!! Tonight just was the cherry on top to my repeated annoyance with this theater. I live in scappoose and almost exclusively attend this theater for most movies. In the past 5 years I have seen many movies on opening night. Tonight while attending the 7pm showing of Logan as the previews start it immediately jumps to a the small Deadpool tease. Then the movie starts. Great movie must see. However in the last 15 min of the movie in the middle of a pivotal part the lights come on in the theater. This is not the first time iv seen a movie and have experienced similar issues. I have put it off as a fluke but this Is just way to many times. As we paid $8.50 a piece for five tickets needless to say I am deeply dissatisfied with this theater. Not to mention you will freeze your butt off in every theater in this building. As if they don't even heat the place. I have complained multiple times have heard many other costumers complain as well. I just bring a damn blanket now. Tonight myself and many other disappointed movie goers complained to a young woman at the counter. She explained that it's run on a computer and she can't change the issue till the next day. I asked for a manager and of course as always I am told there isn't one available. I will be going back sometime tomorrow to see if I can get in contact with anyone in charge. My biggest complaint is they sell movie tickets and concessions at the same point of sale. There are three registers on a Saturday all selling concessions AND movie tickets - you have a huge line of people wanting to get into a movie and/or buy snacks and people coming out of the theatre because they decided they want a treat. Why can we not have two concessions and one specific movie ticket sales line??? Totally inefficient! I don't want to wait in line for people to decide on what candy they want, I'm here for a movie and if I decide on a snack, I'll come back out of the theatre after I've gotten a seat... but no, I can't skip ahead I just have to wait... And miss my movie. Apparently, their system was also down and they could only take cash, but there was no sign on the door to warn people ahead of time and no announcement - Just a cluster. They've got the market locked down on modern movie theaters in the area, so I guess it doesn't hurt business at all. More and more people are moving to Columbia County and businesses are just going to have to figure out how to be more efficient. read more

Why would you have the last show time for an adult horror flick at 4:50 pm and still be playing childrens movies past 7:30pm? Backwards if you ask me. Don't buy gift cards from Scappoose Cinema 7. I read on a on line group about them not honoring their gift cards. So I spoke to someone on the phone today who confirmed that Yes for the last 2 month they have had a problem with there credit card system and they can't read the cards. My reply was if this has been going on for 2 months and still unknown when it will be fixed that is wrong. People like my self who have gift cards will stop buying them from your business. You will loose business and need to pressure the credit card company to fix it pronto. This is not the employee fault but management need to correct this issue. A good part of my Christmas gifts from family were gift cards for their business. Not a way to treat customers. read more

Super disappointing experience this morning. We went into see Ice Age today, and the theater had nothing ready. We waited for them to get their stuff together and bought our tickets. We went into the designated theater and after sitting for 10 minutes were informed that the projector wasn't working. So we moved to the opposite end of the theater with a booster seat, popcorn, soda, ect. We settle in to watch the movie and with about 20 minutes left a couple comes in talking really loudly, looking for a place to sit. After about two minutes of looking for a seat she asked if this was the middle of the movie. I said yes. She responded she thought it was the Jason Bourne movie and left. With the movie not even close to being done the cleaning crew came in and said, we have to clean first to those in the hallway. The door was left open and we were rushed out before the movie was over. I don't know what the deal was, no one working looked over 17 so a manager needs to be present in the lost obvious way. We frequently go to this theater, however it will be a long time before I go back. It was a terrible experience. read more
