This burger place embodies the very best (worst) of North American cuisine - abundance (excess) is the name of the game here. A choice of smaller portions for more wallet-friendly prices would be good Uncle Georgie Porgy was a burger with 3 patties: beef, lamb & fried chicken. It was big. It was hard to disentangle the beef & lamb but both seemed good: soft, tender & pretty juicy. The chicken was juicy, crispy & tasty. The poutine was huge, even by the standards of huge poutines. The gravy was rich & the cheese curds pretty squeaky. The fries were thinner than usual poutine fries, though. Which would not matter, except that they were rather dry. The dish also ended up being too salty - and I have a high salt tolerance. The banana split milkshake had banana, jam & chocolate. It was great. The texture was pretty chunky. Yet, it was too big for one; objectively speaking it doesn't look bit, but there's a lot of stuff going on in the milkshake, which overloads the palate (at least if only one person is drinking it).

Pros: Burger meat is so tender that it melts in your mouth! They also have a drive through section and today had a very small lineup. Cons: ordering a combo of the standard signature burger, sweet potato fries and coke cost $23 which is quite pricey. Had I known, I would have just ordered the burger for roughly $14 and not make it a combo. I ate the sweet potato fries 15 minutes later and they were soggy by then.

Their burgers look really good. And there's a lot of hype around this place. But other than that....I'd pass. Their menu is fairly limited. And the biggest thing going against this place for me is how overpriced it is. The quality of their burgers are definitely good. But quantity is not that much and quite frankly, they really didn't have much of a taste to it. So it's really just your standard burger. I will say though, their waffle fries were quite good.

Been here a couple times, got the Holy Chuck burger, loved it! Medium rare cook, nice a juicy, good portion size. The atmosphere is laid back and the dining area very modern. It has a open kitchen concept with good music playing, and very out going staff. Also got a Nutella Salted Caramel milkshake, which is my favourite thing to get everytime! So delicious!! Definitely recommend this place for a good burger and shake. It is a little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. 10/10

Everyone at this restaurant was very friendly and the burger was very good yet probably a bit overpriced at $12 for that alone. The burger is really juicy. The onion rings are ok, its exactly like Harveys with some type of seasoning. Definitely worth a try.

Traffic on highway 7 was crazy because of construction. I was sopped just sitting there and looked over, saw Holy Chuck and pulled in. I'd never been to one before. My mistake. Man that was a great burger! Location: On highway 7 by the colossus theatre. This is a perfect place to go after to eat and talk about the movie! Parking: Suburbs. It's a driver's dream. Parking for everybody! Decor: Fast food chic. Table and chairs and the tables with half booth and chairs. You order ans pay at the counter. Go sit and they call your number. Ooh self serve pop. Food: Omg they make a good burger. All beef (they also have lamb and veg) with grease dripping with every bite just like a good burger should be. I got a pretty basic burger. I'm a mustard and pickle person. And they have one of those! I got the " depressed cow ". Its apparently Oklahoma style. Not sure what that means. Its chocked full of caramelized onions, prepared mustard and pickles. Yum. Loooooved it! I didn't order any side this time but other tables all had fries. There's some crazy burger combos. There's. $40 four gras one. Poutine, sweet potatoes fries, some crazy looking milkshakes and some delish sounding cheese cakes. Staff: Everyone was nice! The cooks fave burger was the depressed cow too, so I chose well!! Definitely going back!!

The burgers were very juicy and seasoned perfectly. Upon ordering, the counter will ask how you like your burger to be cooked, starting from a minimum of Medium to a maximum of Well done. The only down side to Holy Chuck is that the burgers were also very greasy and soggy.... especially the bottom bun. Since I ordered the Holy Chuck signature, the caramelized onions also made my top bun very soggy. It must be from the heat of the burger to the ratio of the wetness of the sauce they put on the onions. Anyhow ... don't expect to pay $10 and then walk out! You'll need to spend at least a minimum of $15 for a purchase after taxes for you to eat comfortably. So.... you guessed it! This establishment is considered a high priced burger joint (similar to Big Smoke Burger + Five Guys) The atmosphere is alright. Seems packed especially on weekend nights, and sometimes you may not have a seat to eat, so you'll need to bring the order to go. The floors are a little sticky, and the tables are not often wiped clean. The chairs have some flakes of chewed up fries and stains of milkshakes. Overall.... I would come back and do a take-out... I wouldn't dine in because the restaurant's hygiene isn't topnotch.

I've been going here for a few years now and with every visit, I haven't been disappointed. Almost every time I go, I order the Creamy Feta Fries (most of the time I end up here is BECAUSE of the fries). I usually can't justify to spend a lot of money on a burger but I am willing to on Holy Chuck's! I've tried a few of their burgers and I haven't been disappointed. The meat in the burgers are always so juicy and the presentation of the burger is nice too. But somehow I always have the urge to order their Animal Feed burger (a Portobello mushroom) since it's so savory! Just a tip: if you order the Animal Feed burger, wait a few minutes before you dig in. It's piping hot and the juices from the mushroom will burn your mouth.

One of the top options for burgers in Vaughan. The beef Pattie's always made fresh. Love their burgers

Kurtis J.

Don't confuse the low rating for (bad) quality or service or any sort, it's rather relative against the hype, holiness, and herald and I had towards Chuck. Found the burgers to be average and thus overpriced. They certainly have some creative intentions with the menu which I applaud (wish more establishments had this mindset) such as an eating contest/name-on-the-wall type deal and out of the ordinary milkshake combinations.

Nadia A.

Great burger place. They are a bit pricey but they serve quality. You can taste the freshness of their beef. I ordered the junior chuck burger I think it was called. Their version of a big Mac but better lol and fries. I wasn't crazy about their fries they weren't anything to brag about. The burger was amazing I enjoyed every bite and I didn't feel guilty. It wasn't overly greasy. The meat toppings and bread all tastes fresh. Thank you to the friendly staff who helped me with the menu.

This was my first experience coming here and by the time I was done I felt nuetrual to it. We ordered a cheeseburger, animal feed burger, poutine and sweet potatoe fries. The cheeseburger was great, I really like other popular handmade burger joints, but I found Holy Chucks to be really good because they weren't anywhere near as oily. The animal feed burger I got just to try something different. The inner filling was really good but I found the deep fried Portobello mushroom to be under whelming. The putter crust of Pablo breading was loaded with black pepper so it was a major of what you taste outside of the lemon herb aioli. Maybe some like it that way but I found myself wishthing the mushroom had been grilled them stuffed. No deep frying needed. The poutine and sweet potatoe fries tasted okay. We weren't to thrilled about them. They both had a burnt oily after taste. Maybe the oil needed to be changed, but it was disappointing. Overall I love the cheeseburger here, but because we went late at night I'm going to try them again and hope for the best. Ttyl readers!

Michael D.

Great burger in a highly populated area. The burgers/combo are a bit pricey for what you get but you are guaranteed a fresh beef burger once you bite into it. My definite recommendation will be the Holy Chuck burger which comes with bacon and caramelized onions. A classic that'll get situated into why people believe Holy Chucks is a great place to get a burger. Service was quick and efficient while the environment was extremely clean. Would definitely recommend coming here and if you're up for it; try the Go Chuck Yourself challenge!

This is the best burger place in my opinion which I would consider myself to be a burger maniac lol. I know all of the good spots most being downtown but they are still not at par with this place. Get the big chuck if your a fan of Big Macs this is there version of it. read more

Thank you Fotis, the supervising manager during our most recent visit to the Woodbridge location. After politely and respectfully handling a complaint from a very rude and abusive customer, he pleasantly answered our specific questions about ingredients and allergens in a few menu items. Then he went above and beyond and made a custom, personalized non-dairy shake for one of the diners in our party. We were all fans of Holy Chuck before, now we are RAVING FANS of their excellent customer service! read more

Went today with my wife... Best burgers we have had so far! I've had apache burgers, dangerous dans, five guys and they don't come anywhere close to the quality that Holy Chuck offers. I didn't even have to choose any toppings because the hostess knew exactly how it tasted best all the way down to how much to cook the meat. My wife ordered "The Holy Chuck" and I ordered the "The Smokey Cow". The holy chuck burger's caramelized onions were very juicy and tasted so fresh, the meat was done to exact perfection, the bacon was just the right amount of crisp so it wasn't hard or undercooked. My smokey cow burger had the juiciest burgers I have ever encountered, the bacon was also amazing, the sea salt was a perfect compliment to the burger, and the cheese they added was unlike any cheese I've tasted before. We also ordered the Reese's pieces and banana milkshake... Wow! Best milkshake we've encountered! They put 95% ice cream! So unreal! We will be coming back so fast! Don't go by other rude reviews, they're fake or they make no sense. Waiting time was about 10 minutes. Had it been more I would've waited BECAUSE THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ORDER QUALITY FOOD! read more

Come here! I came here after being referred by a family member. The burgers are delicious and their prices are great. I paid $5.96 for a Jr. Cheeseburger and it was a decent size. My husband tried the holy chuck burger and was very pleased, that was absolutely huge . You have to dislocate your jaw like a snake to eat it. It was just pure goodness. The kids had the poutine and onion rings, they were happy with that order. I will be back . read more

We went to Holy Chuck twice and were pleasantly surprised both times. The first time we got a regular Poutine and the second time we got the feta fries and Nutella fries. All orders were delish. I was skeptical about the Nutella fries but they are such a great dessert item. Also, the feta fries are so yum with such a nice garlic taste. I'll be going back for some more fun fries. I have yet to try burgers because I get full on the fries. The prices are steep so keep that in mind. read more

I usually go to burger priest & wanting to try it chuck after seeing positive reviews. I was upset. Their milk shake was THE BEST chocolate btw. But, I didn't like the burgers. I didn't like the fact how it was already built in for you. I like lettuce and all the veggies. I ordered a spicy burger- RANGING BULL. They didn't ask me if I still wanted the bacon. I don't eat bacon. And I was not able to put any veggies on to it. But service was excellent. The cooks and order taker were always asking if the food was good. The fries are meh.. nothing big. read more

I will rate this place based on at least 3 visits. First, the bad. I think they're priced a little high for a burger joint. I know the quality of meat is great, and I don't mind paying more for a better product. But it's just a little too high. 2nd, the poutine I ordered came out a little cold. Tasted great but temperature should've been warmer. Now for the good. Best burger in town by far. They freshly grind their meat on site, and you can tell from first bite. So much flavour in these burgers. I had the Jerky cow burger which is a double burger marinated in jerk seasonings and a seared pineapple on top. Good spice to it, great flavours. Would definitely go back. read more

Went Yesterday - had the "Holy Chuck" which is their version of a Big Mac, fries and gravy. All and all I wont be back. $4 for one size fries which is more medium than large is just too expensive. The burger was so greasy it literally fell apart in my hands. You can make a fresh burger without this amount of grease. If I had to describe the burger, I would describe it as soggy. Burger Priest is less greasy, still fresh and same problem with the fries. I think If I had to, I'd go to burger priest or dare I say it; Wendy's or 5 guys, before this place again. read more

My wife and I were also customers last night just next in line after Gerald S. We had such a bad experience that I decided to search the internet for anyone else who has had horrible service at Holy Chuck's and found this review and recognized Gerald's pic. We ended up waiting a total of 50 mins for take-out. Customers after us were getting refunds because the wait was way to long. Once I got home to actually try the burger, I found it below average and definitely not worth the wait. Girl at front counter was very rude when talking to customers, and many of the staff in kitchen just wondered around talking to each other. We had 50 mins to observe the staff, so his was not a quick to judge case. I'm not sure how the other locations are, but we will not be visiting this HWY 7 in woodbridge locations ever again. I will be spreading the word. Cheers! read more

This place sucks, i went there 2 times in the past 2 months and both times my burger was soggy as crap, I had the holy chuck burger, caramelized onions my ass, more like onion soup that dripped out of my burger, decided to give it a second chance and got the double cheeseburger and guess what my bread was soaked up to the point it was a piece of sog! Whoever is making these burgers doesn't know how to make one properly or doesn't give a crap because he/she doesn't have to eat it. Don't bother going to this place if you want a garbage burger, go to Burgers Priest which is like 5 mins from there and you will get a burger worth paying for and one that tastes a thousand times better. read more

There are a lot of these type fancy burger joints opening up lately. Yeah they are a bit pricier as these places tend to be but this store is priced right with the quality you get. They have lots of variety. Burgers are cooked properly, still juicy! Fries are a smaller cut and garnished with parsley. Shakes are THICK and delicious. Of the bigger fancy burger joints this is my favorite. Service can be a tad slow at times so they lost a star and that complaint really is a stretch. read more

Walked in Saturday night 8 pm. Was pretty busy almost every table full. Ordered a Holy Chuck, Jr burger and onion rings to go. They said would be about 10 mins, my name was called less then 5 mins. It took about 30 mins to get home and couldn't wait to dig in. Burger was great, cooked a bit more then medium although I ordered medium, bun was way soggy possibly because of the drive home. I will definitely give it another try and eat in next time. Onion rings were pretty good, a bit small and not huge as I expected though. read more

Delicious! The meat is so fresh, the bun is so soft, you essentially don't need teeth to eat these burgers! I ordered their most popular burger, tasted like an upscale version of a Big Mac, with all the fixin's... A little pricey, but worth it. The reason it's a 4 as opposed to a 5 is because I wasn't a fan of their fries.. too thin and cold. I prefer hot, thick-cut fries. Service is amazing here, and the menu is really great, full of choices. A little pricey but the food is pretty damn good. My only issue is the large amount of oil and grease that comes out of the burgers (and all the other food too). I know this place isn't the pinnacle of health but I've been to many burger places before and this place has double the amount of greasiness, even with my burger very well done. It will definitely give you some bad acid reflux and perhaps a minor heart attack, however you will be totally satisfied otherwise read more

Posted this for the wrong Holy chuck location ... so reposting it for the right one. Tried this place a couple of weeks ago after people have raved about it. Not sure what they are going on about. Decor looked like it was from the 50s. Maybe that's what they were going for... The menu is too large. It took me 10 minutes to go through every item. They need a simplified menu for god sakes. That thing was a headache to navigate. At the end I was more confused about what I wanted before I came in. Tried the you fat pig. It was sloppy built and presented. I got it to go and it tasted very undercooked and just plain nasty. It was supposed to have bacon patty but the thing was not properly assembled. It was falling apart. It wasn't a patty! No cheese or bacon was in there. The bun was soggy and moist. I was running late and chucked the entire thing after two bites. It tasted nasty. The fries were good. Sorry chuck, I wasn't too impressed. You need to bring up your game in the kitchen. Lastly, I highly recommend you have your staff take food handler's course. No one was hand washing before handling food. If you touch a foreign object wash your hands. If you pick something up from the ground and put it away... wash your hands! read more

The service is super quick, and they keep things classic--nothing too out there, just a great bun, perfectly cooked thin patties, cheese, and a tasty sauce. They've got some amazing exclusive burgers like the Mac Jab and tasty chicken bites, with my personal favorite being the honey Dijon sauce. It's a fairly large space, with two picnic tables in the middle surrounded by regular tables. The dining area was about half full when we arrived. When placing our order, we were told about a new smoked brisket ramen noodle dish they were trying out. This sounded intriguing, but since it was our first time here, we wanted to get what they're known for: their sandwiches. Maybe next time. We ordered: 2 x Smoked Brisket Sandwiches 1 x Reuben 1 x Large Fries The Brisket Sandwiches were incredible. The brisket was smoky and tender, with just the right amount of sauce. The Montreal smoked meat in the Reuben was a little dry and there wasn't enough sauerkraut, but overall, it was decent. If we're in the area, I would definitely eat here again. The grilled chicken sandwich was filled with sauce, red onions, grilled onions, cheese, grilled chicken and mushrooms. As for the steak sandwich, it had steak, bacon bits, and sauce. In my opinion, the sauce and cheese was an overload which drowned out the flavour of the food. I couldn't quite taste the meat very well. It was a decent, packed sandwich, I would just recommend asking for little sauce and less cheese, so the other flavours stand out. The fries were crispy on the outside, and the sauce they came with was nice and creamy. I'd recommend splitting the sandwich between 2-3 people. I couldn't finish one on my own because of the large portion, so I decided to take the rest home. I never heard of this place until they came to Woodbridge, and I'm glad they have. Actually I'm honored they've have. I've had a lot of burgers in my life from tons of restaurants. A lot. And it's been difficult for me to finally admit that this is the best burger I've ever had. The first burger I had here was the Cowlorie, and I realized it was everything I ever wanted in a burger. They really know how to make a grown man cry. Since then, I've been visiting quite frequently, going down the list and trying every burger on the menu. Mostly hits, but there's a few I'd pass up the second time. So far my favorites are The Village Cow and The Cowlorie, and I'll be trying The Holy Duck last, and the 2 challenges to finish it off. Their fries alone are pretty standard, but when fixed up, they create a culinary masterpiece that I find myself thinking about between visits. I haven't tried many of their desserts yet for not having enough room after the burger and fries, but I can say their Cheesecake Shakes are everything you can ask for in a shake. These guys know what they're doing. This is what burgers are all about. It's a welcomed addition to my life, and a welcomed addition to Woodbridge, and I hope to see them here for a long long time. Most of the bad reviews are for long wait times. Well that's what you get it's the best burger in town. I've gone at peak hours many times and I've never had a problem with the wait time. You do obviously have to wait longer than your average fast food place, but it's worth every second. If you're going during a lunch rush on a Saturday, expect to wait. But also expect to have the best burger of your life. read more

So much to choose at this place. The Greek Baaastard, The Raging Bull and the Croissant Du Paysan are just a few of the tasty delights I've enjoyed here in the past...just not all at once. Get the Moogats though and you won't be disappointed either. Hot salami and parm cheese is a nice touch, something different than most burger options you'd get anywhere else. The milkshakes, fries and onion rings are all worthy options. The interior is always clean, tables quickly bussed and cleared. The staff is friendly and fast. The manager keeps a close eye on the whole operation and ensures every customer is pleased with the service and their meal. read more

If you're too pretentious to enjoy a juicy messy burger with a side of onion rings or fries, I don't want to know you. The Frustrated Cow is my all-time favourite, but The Holy Chuck, The Grind and Shine and The Big Bad Wolf are all worthy alternatives. The onion rings are just the right amount of crispy and the fries are great too. The milkshakes are incredibly well flavoured - whether the buttermilk or the bacon. The staff is always friendly, patient with customers ordering, and the restaurant is always clean. I'm here probably once a month. Yum yum yum! read more

I've been here with my kids a few times because of their gluten free bun option, but otherwise it's quite pricey for a hamburger. What's the point of adding all the fancy toppings if the last thing you add is disgusting processed cheese that dominates the flavour of the whole sandwich? At our most recent visit, two of the orders had mistakes, one was missing bacon, an easy fix, but another was a completely wrong sandwich. Luckily one of our diners is easy to please and ate it anyway. read more

I recently revisited Holy Chuck's after having fond memories of their burgers, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype this time around. I ordered my burger medium, but it ended up a little dry, lacking the juicy, flavorful bite I remembered. The fries were also a letdown, not very crispy and a bit underwhelming overall.
