Imagine coming to an establishment that you contacted by phone ONE HOUR EARLIER asking if they had their macaroni and cheese, in which the woman says "yes, we have it!" Only to travel out of your way, come less than an hour later and discover that there is in fact, no macaroni and cheese whatsoever! When you ask about this, a server says "no sorry, it's not ready." When you ask when it will be ready, the server shrugs and says she has no idea. Why would you tell me on the phone that you have it when you know you don't? This was a place that had been hyped up by some random influencer online, which is how I had found it, and this is EXACTLY why you shouldn't listen to influencers. This restaurant has false advertising. Please do NOT waste your time coming all the way to the top of the Bronx for a place that literally does not have the items they claim to have on their website, social medias, nor the influencers that claim this place is oh so awesome. The food is vegan and seasoned to perfection. Although the dishes have common names-jerk chicken, curry goat, pepper steak-there's no meat on the menu. Everything is delicious and it's hard to say what my favorites are, which is why I usually get two large plates at a time. That way I can have a little bit of everything on the menu. The portions are quite generous, you'll feel satisfied quickly, and will most likely have food left the following day. I'm a huge fan of the fried oyster mushrooms which is referred to as fried chicken. If you're a non-meat/chicken eater, these are the perfect substitute. Bonus items on the menu: vegan ice cream and freshly made juices. I knew I would love the coconut and rum raisin ice cream, but I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the soursop and passion fruit. Both flavors didn't disappoint! I top off every meal with a little ice cream to go. The juices (tamarind is my favorite) are not sweetened with unhealthy granulated white sugar, but with sugar from actual sugarcane. Some juices are pre-bottled, and there are over 60 combinations on the menu that can be made on the spot. The customer service matches the food! 10/10 every time! Their friendliness will keep you coming back. You can stay and eat, but be mindful that there are only three small tables for two. Check this place out. It's definitely worth the trip. read more

The food is very good and I have purchased food multiple times . The only issue I have is the quantity of the food has decreased considerably. While on line I overheard another person complaining about the same issue. I ordered a large plate for $26 which comes with 3 of the plant based meats. I wanted 2 of that to be the fried mushroom. The lady forgot that I wanted 2 and so I had to wait on the next 1 to cook. She showed me my plate because she thought I had the chick peas. I watched her make several orders so I know what 1 serving looks like. They only gave me 3 mushroom. For this reason I won't be back. They try to cut them in smaller pieces. This is a must try restaurant for vegans. They had about 4 choices of vegan meats that were extremely delicious. I ended up buying the biggest container I could. Will go there every chance I'm in the area. They also make smoothies and juices. Service was excellent I felt very welcome in there. Even though I chose to take my food to go since I was on my lunch break they do have a table where you can sit down and eat. Tried this place for the first time yesterday and it was amazing. I had the medium meal that comes with 2 protein options and 2 side. I had both veggie beef options, veggie lo mien and Callao. I also had a green smoothie but they had a variety of juice and smoothie opinions to choose from with the ingredients listed which I really appreciated. I can't remember the name but the smoothie I had consisted ofcucumber, ginger, celery, lime and parsley (they were out of parsley so I substituted with spinach). Everything I had was delicious and fresh. I'm a pescatarian and former meat eater and I had to double check that I wasn't eating meat to how well seasoned my meal was . HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant and I can't wait until they deliver!!! Update Tried them on Ubereats. Not impressed which is shocking they're usually good. Whoever made the carrot moss today, did not make it well. Also I believe they ran out of two items I wanted and instead of calling to ask if I still want my order they gave replacements I did not ask for.
