    Brisket Beef Sandwich
    Mike C.

This restaurant has been evaluated by Kansas City Beef Society Judges and has scored the pefect five out of five stars from these Texas BBQ experts! My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant which is about a two minute walk from Peddler's Village and by God what a find it was! Beef Brisket was perfect and the BBQ Sauce that we had them put in a side container was magnificent. I usually do not bathe my sandwich in sauce but there sauce is the exception to that rule as I kept going back to that container to dip more and more of the smokey, perfect amount of heat, sweet but not too sweet sauce. Mac N' Cheese - This was something special in and of itself. The flavor elicited that smokey BBQ flavor and I have written a review on a restaurant in Philly that only serves and specializes in Mac N' Cheese and that restaurant's Mac N' Cheese pales in comparison to this side order of every BBQ meals staple side dish. I cannot wait to come back for the ribs and try more of their food. As always people SYOY!!!

Came here while exploring peddlers village and was impressed by the quality of the items here. I ordered both the specialty sandwiches here, the holy que and their rendition of a philly cheese steak and while both sandwiches were good, their name sake sandwich the holy que blew me away. A sandwich with all the fixings, it had brisket, a sausage and some other slabs of protein mixed in that guaranteed satisfaction. A nice portion sandwich at a decent price this is the item to get here as it gives you a little bit of everything in one bite

Such a wonderful more hidden gem. Super friendly welcoming staff. Small. Came here on a super busy Saturday night. Every place in Peddler's Village, Lahaska, and even New Hope was booked. This place has ample outdoor seating for summer months. Some indoor seating. Order at a counter and seat yourself. One meat meal is $18 and comes with one side. Brisket was very good. Delicious seasoning. Comes with potato bread as well. Mac and cheese was unique - had an orange red tint because of the seasoning. Still very mild so kid friendly. Just had flavor. Got a banana pudding for $6 to take home. The star of the show for only $3 was the cornbread. It was a huge slice. So yummy. Sweet but not overpowering. Could work as a good dessert option too. Good crust on the cornbread. Really good crumb texture to it. So tender. I'll definitely come back in the area. Bottled sodas were $2.50

We got the lonestar platter which includes 3 meats and four sides. They gave us a sample of the brisket but found it to be too salty. We choose the pulled pork (our favorite), ribs and turkey which was not dry. Our choice of sides were the street corn (favorite), cowboy beans (surprisingly very good), green beans, and Mac and cheese My only complaint is that the food could be hotter. Everything was very good and complimented each other well, I do think this option is more suitable for 3 people. There was plenty of outside seating which made it ideal to enjoy the meal outside to take in the cute scenery. We got our food out pretty fast and the workers were very nice. Would come back!

I've been wanting to try this place since I moved to the area almost 3 years ago. Especially since I know they are big supporters of the local volunteer firefighters too. I know they can get busy and run out of stuff so I finally tried on a Friday during Lent so it wasn't so busy and everything was on the menu! Parked in the back that's where the entrance is too. It brings you right to the counter where you will order even if you are staying, there is no table service. Super friendly staff and knowledgeable about everything. We went classic and got the brisket - prob one of the best briskets I've ever had. Super tender, flavorful and just the right amount of fat. I chose the Cole slaw for my side, it is vinegar based which was nice and tangy and a good balance with the meat cause it wasn't too heavy. My son had the honey cornbread which was really delicious too. I def want to go back and try some other meats and sides. We did also try the banana pudding, I enjoyed it. Not too over whelmingly banana or overly sweet. I nice sweet ending. The place is small and not fancy, you grab your food on the metal tray that is lined with brown paper. Nicely decorated. Prices are to be expected as any bbq place I've been to. You're paying like $20 for one meat and one side. I saw outside they also have a food truck which is good know. If you like good juicy brisket def check this place out

Pulled pork, brisket, Texas Joe, and cornbread

This place really surprised me! We were greeted by SUPER friendly staff, and the food came out SO fast. We ordered 3 different meat platters: the pulled pork, brisket, and Texas Joe (their version of a Sloppy Joe but with shredded brisket). The meats were all super flavorful and delicious. I really enjoyed the pulled pork, and my husband loved the Texas Joe! For our sides, we went with cornbread, mac and cheese and cider slaw. My favorite was the cornbread (very moist and delicious!). My husband really liked the slaw. We were both slightly disappointed with the mac and cheese. It was lacking a lot of flavor. If it were better, this place would get 5 stars from me! I highly recommend checking this place out!

Pulled porch nachos and brisket and Mac n cheese side!

Inside kind of feels like a farmhouse vibe with the browns and greens. The bar downstairs with the more formal seating upstairs is pretty cool. Service was good, waitress was warm and friendly; took our order timely, and wait times weren't overly long. My appetizer was forgotten at first but it was brought out a little after the meals were. I ordered the grouper finger appetizer and red snapper Provençal, and wifey had the filet mignon with sweet potato fries. My grouper fingers were light and fluffy with a touch of crisp from the coating. The snapper dish was tasty, not a fan of mushrooms but dealt with them since the overall combo of spinach, caper, and tomato went well. The fish was served skin side down, which was crispy. I get plating the accompaniments on top, but not on the skin, however should have removed the skin since it was pointless. The cookery of the fish was good, ends were a little chewy due to getting the skin crispy, but I didn't mind. The house rice was a bit mushy, but had a good flavor since the capers were also inside. Wifey's steak was cooked correctly and tasted good too. It came with bleu cheese and a butter sauce which went well with the fries and meat. She thought it was a nice meal. Overall, would return to Porterhouse if I ever visit Peddler's again.

It doesn't seem to matter if the place is empty or packed you'll still wait way too long for food that's pretty mediocre. I really wanted to like this place because the location, decor, and layout are all great. But every time I go, the service feels cold and unwelcoming. No greeting, no friendliness, no sense that they're happy to have customers there. Instead, it feels like you're bothering the staff just by being there or asking a question. And the food is honestly always disappointing. After the first two times, I started sticking to drinks only. What really turned me off was seeing the owner post on social media making fun of negative reviews about long wait times and cold coffee. Those are fair complaints, and customer feedback should be taken seriously, not mocked. I'm sure they'll stay busy because they're in a tourist spot, but I'd save your time and money and go somewhere else.

The seating works for both couples having a cute coffee date and groups catching up, which I appreciate. They've switched to a kiosk ordering system, and honestly? Kind of a win. Both kiosks can be used, orders move faster, and the staff can focus on making drinks instead of juggling a line. The only downside: no cash and no non-chip gift cards, which feels very "welcome to the future, hope you're prepared!" The staff is genuinely pleasant and even offered to remake my drink if anything went sideways, which automatically earns brownie points. Fair warning though: when it gets busy, it gets TIGHT. Like, "excuse me, sorry, I'm just existing" tight. That said... the drinks are absolutely worth the mild inconvenience. Cozy vibes, good coffee, and friendly staff? I'll gladly come back and do it all over again, preferably during a slightly less crowded moment.

Carrying spices that are not easily found. For me personally it's green peppercorns-a vital ingredient for a beef sauce Ii make for the holidays. When you walk into the shop you're stuck by the masses wave of the stock but the friendly staff is happy to help you find hat you're looking for. What speaks best for this store is that when asking in other places in Lahaska for the pepper corns several places said "try savory spices' that's right, they're referred by potential competitors as the place to go. Not a 'I can order them' but 'Try this place...' That says a lot about them. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is a trip and you're going for something special, not general uses, I mean you can get paprika in the mega-mart. but for that odd ball spice, make the trip.

I have been ordering from Savory Spice for many years. Last year, they advertised a Black Friday…read moresale that simply said "Spend $100, Get $100". Great! It's the holidays, and these are good gifts. I purchased a gift set and waited for the code, which didn't come. Customer service informed me the $100 credit wouldn't be available until January. This was misleading when advertised as a "sale", but I figured I would wind up using the credits later on, and I went ahead and purchased another $100 gift bundle. Now I am trying to use the credits, and I've been informed that they are issued in $20 increments - ONE per order. I wrote to customer service because this is super inconvenient, but also prohibitive. Many of their items are more than $20. So anything I want to purchase over $20 (vanilla extract, gift sets, etc), the remainder has to be paid out of pocket by me despite having $200 in credit with the company. While they did send me a shipping code to use, they were entirely inflexible. Using the credits is labor intensive and restrictive to certain items, and I've had to go through and choose things based on price to add each cart up to $22, apply the codes, and then still pay the remainder. I'm extremely disappointed and I am no longer a Savory Spice customer. I will source herbs and spices from a company that values their customers and doesn't play cheesy games with "sales".
