Clothes dryer not heating. I was recommended to call by San Leandro Parts Distributor. I called in the morning and spoke with Mark, the owner. He showed a few hours later and called to tell me he was on his way. On time, professionally dressed and was fast. He also suggested to blow the lint out of the pipe. He was right! Refrigeration. We take it for granted, until you come into the kitchen at 5:00am to find a big puddle on the floor and things in the freezer defrosting. I made two calls to local repair companies here in San Leandro. Both got back to me within a couple of hours (I DID leave messages pretty early!). The first said that he empathized, but couldn't come out for almost a week! Mark (Home Appliance) called back and said he could be there by 11:30am! Not only that, his base fee was actually less than I expected. He called me back at 11:20, to let me know he'd be there in ten minutes. Mark was punctual, and figured out the problem with the fridge... a simple electrical connector had come unplugged, killing the fan. He also gave me a bit of an education on how things work in there, so I might avoid a similar service call in the future. His fee was quite reasonable. Following up, we found that the icemaker was working, but not dispensing. Mark came back and we figured it out. No charge. All I really ask is that people do what they say they will do and stand behind it. Mark gets this. Add that personal integrity to 35 years repairing appliances, and you can really can't ask for better than that. read more

The people who worked there were very rude. It took them like 15 minutes just to give us the information we asked for. He wouldn't stop talking over us . When he recommended a guy to help us he said," I know this guy personally and he does the job good" we called the guy after 30 minutes of struggling. When he picked he was also being rude and at the end he said he wouldn't do it and hanged up. I recommend not to go there read more

We went there to get our oven part fixed. The customer service was horrible. They wouldn't let you talk and they were very rude. At the end a worker said I know a guy who would fix you oven when he called, he was being aggressive and kept correcting us. At the end he didn't even do the job I don't plan to go there anymore and you shouldn't either read more

Came to fix our ice maker. Charged for it. Ice maker did not work. Won't return our calls.

Customer service was great. Called in the morning and the tech came out within an hour. Only complaint is the price is high.

I called up Mark and he made a service call on our old Occidental range, he got it repaired (we thought) within the minimum charge. But then the next week it stopped agian, so he ended up ordering a new part and came back in a couple of days to replace it, and only charge us for the parts on the second trip. After acting up for a couple of weeks, our fridge decided to quit chillin' 2 days before Thanksgiving. Although he was too busy to squeeze us in, he talked with my hubby several times trying to trouble shoot the problem. On the second day, they figured out what part had to be defective. I don't think Mark is in business anymore. I've been using him off and on for years. but when I called this number today, it could "not connect". I have a second number for him, but it has been given out to someone else. I even have a pager number for him ... that's how long I've used his service. Too bad. read more

On Saturday (4/23/16) our 25 year old Kenmore refrigerator wouldn't stop running and the fresh food area was getting warm. The freezer worked fine. On Sunday we vacuumed the back and front behind the floor access panel. It was very dirty with a lot of dust build up. After a couple hours wait, nothing changed. We talked about rushing down to Sears to buy a new one and did an online search. We found a $600 match that was similar to the one we had. By Sunday evening, one container of half and half had gone bad. On our Nextdoor site I found Mark's name and number. I called Mark's number (510-278-7780) at 8 AM Monday. He lives in Livermore. He called 20 minutes later. I explained the problem and he said the evaluation would be $80.00. We agreed and he said he would be at our home with in the hour. He was on time. We remover the contents of the freezer. He removed a panel in the back that revealed the coils to be frozen over with ice crystals. Using a multimeter he determined that the defrost thermostat was bad and gave us an estimate to do the repair and said had the part in his truck and could do the repair immediately. Mark started by defrosting the oils with a hair dryer. I asked about using a heat gun but he said that was not a good idea as they get too hot and could melt some of the plastic parts around the coils. Once the coils were defrosted, he replaced the thermostat ($8.75 on Amazon). Total time was 40 minutes and the cost was $200.00 including the service call. Five hours later the refrigerator is working as it should, so we are happy. Was the cost worth it to us? A bit high but yes, the service was fast and it saved us a lot of hassle and we didn't have to buy a new refrigerator. read more

The owner, Mark, is everything you want in a repairman: honest, prompt, knowledgeable, professional and affordable. Our 25 year old gas dryer is still working due to him. When I called him for an appointment and described the problem, a horrible screeching noise when the dryer drum rotated , he asked for details on the duration of the problem and the make and age of the dryer. He arrived for the appointment with the appropriate replacement part in his truck. Quick, efficient and very reasonably priced. For the bargain price of $119 our dryer is good for many more years of service and with four people in the household, it gets a heavy workout. I always love to share a good thing. I called Mark to come and fix our ice maker. He made an appointment for the following day and showed up right on time. Mark spent an hour exploring a few possibilities but things were pointing towards a clogged water filter. Mark also fixed a dripping water dispenser and a leak that was occurring inside the refrigerator. When he was finished he said that if the problems where still there tomorrow then I would need to call GE Service and have them come and check things out. I had agreed to a $109 service call but Mark waived it since he did not know for certain that he had been able to repair our problem. His time was worth the price of the service call but he refused payment !?!?!? What???? He would not accept any payment for his time. He even gave me a $25 water filter free.
