    Heat pump Lennox

Can't recommend highly enough, Sam and Scott. They made sure my heat pump replacement was level on a new concrete pad, the furnace was installed properly with many tests, added all new condensation PVC pipes, new flexible gas line for earthquake protection, build custom duct fittings in their vehicle and programmed my new Google Nest. I appreciated all the explanations and staying much later than expected to finish the job in 1 day. They cleaned up after themselves as well. They exceeded my expectations!

I wrote this review a year ago at google. I just realized I didn't write yelp. There were a lot of cancellations with schedule, no call, no show. Or showed up with the wrong parts, or knew nothing about the job. Always a different person. Finally today, one guy came to do the install of the furnace, and it is not working. The old one was working, just really old, so we then have no heat on a night that's freezing temperatures. I have 2 small children and that is not acceptable. I tried to call many times, left messages and no one called me back. It is VERY hard to get hold of them. Also, the intake duct was not completely sealed. It has large gaps a 1/3 of multiple seams. Very unprofessional and we regret using this company. We paid a lot of money and as most people would, expect a quality product, considering we got them from Costco. Very disappointed. Update: manager contacted to us and communication is a little better. Finally, the last guy has come to add 2 ducts today but edges look like trash. Too much seal, and edges could be much cleaner. Very low quality work done. Another weird thing is with this company asked for the whole payment before the job was done. Had I known the quality of work and poor customer service I would have never paid for such shitty job for $10,000

    "Free" price estimates per Yelp.

Thank you for responding to my comment HCA, but I didn't find this to be necessarily true and plenty of contractors give you quotes for free. Again, how else would one compare quotes? You get three (which is standard) and you are approx three hundred dollars in already before any work is done. I went with a different contractor here (with no fee) and am satisfied with the price and service.

Great staff and crew. I wouldn't trust my home heating and cooling to anyone besides James and his team.

We are HIGHLY satisfied with all aspects of the experience, including the functioning of the installed equipment. All of the many PEARCE team members I had contact with were a pleasure to work with. Communications with PEARCE were prompt, succinct, and complete; expectations were clear. Pricing was reasonable. A detailed description of our experience follows: PEARCE was introduced along with 2 other vendors by Puget Sound Energy (PSE) as a candidate for installing an EV Charger (which we had procured separately) and associated electrical wiring and breakers. The PEARCE representative, Isaac, made a much better impression than the other vendors. He appeared in person (rather than over the phone like another vendor) to examine the site and he answered all my questions; thanks to the information he provided we moved the installation point to a better location. PSE also introduced 3 vendors for installation of a Heat Pump, a system that would be new to our 1970s-era split-level house. Two of these vendors proposed (based on our home's square footage) a 3-ton capacity Hybrid Heat Pump, with one stating that additional ducting would be needed; the third vendor was adamant that we would need a ductless heat pump because a Hybrid Heat Pump system would not function with our home's ducting. The variance in Heat Pump proposals left me confused. Therefore, due to Isaac's positive impression, I asked PEARCE to make a Heat Pump proposal. Brian visited the following day and was able to alleviate my concerns with his technical knowledge and his rich experience with Heat Pumps. He said that though he would be happy to install a 3-ton capacity system, he believed a 2.5-ton capacity Hybrid Heat Pump system would be a better fit given factors beyond our home's square footage, such as the size of our ducting and our house layout. The PEARCE team arranged to have both the EV Charger and Hybrid Heat Pump installed at the same time. Isaac installed both the EV Charger and the electrical wiring for the Heat Pump, including placing easy-to-read printed labels on the installed breakers. A multi-person team led by Jake installed the Hybrid Heat Pump system over two days. I was very pleased by the routing of the lines between the external Heat Pump and interior Air Handler (located in our laundry room): no conduit needed to be run on the exterior of our home and no interior walls needed to be cut open and repaired. A nice touch by Jake's team was the fabrication of a metal pocket next to the Air Handler for storing the equipment manuals. The installation teams were respectful of our property, including wearing booties or laying cloth rugs to protect our floors. Alison of the office team was a pleasure to deal with in setting up dates, dealing with a minor issue, and invoicing. We have been able to experience the functioning of the installed Hybrid Heat Pump system on both cool and warm days and are very satisfied; the 2.5-ton capacity system that Brian recommended meets our expectations for both heating and cooling. Regarding heating: compared to the gas furnace it replaced, the new system keeps our home at a more even temperature both throughout the zones of our house and across the hours of the day. Regarding cooling: previously we had no cooling system; the heat pump exceeds our expectations in cooling our entire home effectively with relatively even temperatures across zones. The PEARCE people take pride in doing quality work and are a pleasure to work with.

He took the time to listen to what I was looking for and came up with a thoughtful cost-effective hybrid solution. While I ultimately ended up going with a different contractor (because I'm a bit of an HVAC nerd and wanted a more robust, complicated, and expensive solution), I think the vast majority of homeowners would've been happy with the performance Brian's solution would deliver at a fraction of the price point. During the quote, Brian saw that I was in the middle of a DIY remodel and provided some helpful tips and was even willing to have me do some of the more basic work, something that no other HVAC contractor was willing to consider. Brian still owns the company, unlike so many companies these days that are owned by private equity. I would feel confident in recommending Pearce Heating & A/C to any of my friends or family.

So when we needed help again recently, it felt like reconnecting with a trusted name. And they didn't disappoint. This past weekend, my mum noticed our basement was flooding -- water was pouring from the pressure relief valve on our hot water tank. After doing some research, we managed to shut the tank off, but that left us without any hot water. Not exactly a fun situation! (We were half-joking about heading to the gym just to grab a shower.) Mark arrived and immediately put us at ease. He was professional, kind, and genuinely patient -- taking the time to explain the issue clearly before getting to work. He diagnosed the problem quickly and had everything fixed in no time. Thanks to him, we had our hot water back and our weekend back on track. It means a lot when a company earns your trust not just once, but twice. If you're looking for a technician who is not only skilled but also truly cares about the people he's helping, Mark is your guy. We'll absolutely be calling Top Heating & Cooling again -- hopefully not too soon, but without hesitation when we need to! Thank you, Mark! You saved the day (and our shower plans)!

I pitched a project via Yelp to install cooling and replace the furnace to all of the most highly rated companies in the area. All of them recommended a heat pump as opposed to traditional AC. Better Air NW's proposal was not only the least expensive by a fair margin, but also offered the highest quality machines and best warranties. Normally, I'd be pretty skeptical at that combination, but all of the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me to accept their offer. A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. As of April 13th, I am still being double charged and the issue has not been resolved. I have been flexible and willing to work with them, but the owner Mark and the sales guy Loren made that impossible. Loren will say anything to close a deal. The lack of oversight is staggering. They refused to do a walkthrough with the installer and seller, which led to two heat pumps being installed incorrectly. They had to be moved, and that caused even more damage to my home. They also charged my credit card while "charging" a Synchrony loan, so I have been effectively double-charged for months. Now they refuse to speak on the phone and only send haphazard email replies that never resolve anything. They promised to fix the drywall in writing. This was necessary to repair their own mistakes and because I preferred to have the electrical work go through the house, which they agreed to. Instead, they sent a third-party worker and then demanded a massive payment for the repair. They eventually gave me a payment to cover the drywall fixes myself, which I am grateful for, but even that took over 3 months of fighting. The actual installers and electricians were amazing. They should go find a new job at another installer with actual integrity. My problem is entirely with Mark and Loren. Since they use AI for their reviews, expect a fake reply from Max below. An AI voice answered the phone, asked me why I was calling, told me it was going to look up my account details, said it had a problem and that someone would contact me to follow up, and then hung up on me. A few hours later I got a text from "Cameron". I complained to "Cameron" about the experience I had from the AI phone answerer. "Cameron" apologize and told me that such an experience would frustrate him too...then "Cameron" decided to be transparent with me and tell me that he was in fact AI as well and "his" real name was "Carson". We went back and forth about 6 times to explain the problem I was having and to set up an appointment. Then "Cameron" told me that the time we worked out wasn't confirmed yet and that someone would be calling me to confirm the time. Thanks, "Cameron". This was Friday around 4:00PM. THE NEXT MORNING, a human being (I think) texted me from the same number to confirm the appointment. After I let them know how unhappy I was with the AI scheduling service, a human (I think) did call me and apologized for it. Then, on the day of the appointment, the technician arrived an hour and a half after the 12:00-16:00 window we had set up. I had to call them at 16:30 to ask if the technician was coming and they told me he would be there soon. When he did arrive, in the middle of me making dinner for my family, he told me that the faucet would need to be replaced and that it would be $750 (!!) in labor to fix it. Then I was charged $83 for his time (which I guess would be rolled into the service). So, in the end I still had a leaky faucet and I was out $83 with the option to pay $670 to replace a faucet (plus the cost of the faucet itself). For that price, I'm just going to do it myself. Then the spam texts started coming from "Cameron" asking about the estimate. I got one every day until I told it to stop texting me. This company used to be great but I'm going to be looking around the next time I need a plumber. Please ditch this stupid AI system. Please don't charge your customers if you're extremely late for your own four hour window - especially if the diagnosis takes five minutes and is "I can't fix it - replace the faucet".
