We discovered unwanted visitors in our attic and contacted Home Paramount Pest Control, where I spoke with Timothy Coombs at the Annapolis, MD location. I was very impressed with their service. Despite nearly 100-degree weather, the crew removed the old insulation, cleaned the space, and installed new insulation that met code standards. During the process, one of the workers accidentally stepped off a rafter, leaving an indent in the ceiling, and because the attic entrance was so small, a light fixture was also damaged. The project manager immediately brought both issues to my attention and reported them to his supervisor. Timothy quickly followed up, arranged for the damage to be repaired, and allowed me to choose my own contractor. I simply submitted the invoice for reimbursement. Company performed an inspection and conveniently offered a $15,000 fix. Two other licensed inspectors were called to the same property and found completely different outcomes: clearly demonstrated there is no active problem and, other licensed contractors offered the same service for a fraction of the cost. TL/DR: this company uses fear tactics to scam homeowners and upsell overpriced services. There are many better choices in town. read more

We feel scammed by Home Paramount. During their quarterly visit, the service person encouraged us to contact their office about resolving the issue of the numerous groundhogs on our property. When we contacted the company, they emphasized their success in capturing these pests. However, after only five days of using cages with marshmallows and cat food (keep in mind that groundhogs are herbivores), they removed the cages without capturing a single groundhog. Now, they claim they can't read the animals' minds and never guarantee success. All this for $500. Please be aware of this company's practice before signing an agreement with them for services. read more

I contracted with Home Paramont over a year ago for the "Exclusion" service to block out the entry of mice from my home. To date I still have mice even though I have called several times telling them that the service wasn't complete. They say they will "escalate " my concern to a manager and I will be called back but no one ever calls back. I am still paying for bait to be placed every 3 months, but the problem has never been resolved. I'm hoping this review will spark some follow up on their end! read more

I have had their mesquite service for years, but the past two years have been horrible. Recently they were schedule to come out as follows: 8/4-no show, 8/14-no show, called 8/17 to complain was told they'd have someone out that day-no show, called again 8/19 was told someone would be out before noon 8/20. Called 8/20 at 1pm was told they were dispatching the technician - again no show. I have left several messages asking for a manager to call me and have not received a call!! Great company -- very customer-oriented. We've used Home Paramount since we bought our house in 2001 and have been thoroughly satisfied with all their work. They do regular monthly maintenance, termite system, flea and tick control, and other pest control as needed. The entire staff is friendly and helpful, and since the same technician usually does our service we've come to know and trust them. They're reliable, dependable, and professional. They treated my home for bed bugs with heat. It seemed to have worked until I've gotten numerous bites well within the 30 day warranty. When I entered the home after the treatment the Central Air was still running. Leaving the air on left cool spots for the bugs. I sent them the pics of the post treatment bites and they refuse to acknowledge and won't honor the warranty. Go ahead and use them you might as well flush your money down the toilet. read more

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY Like most services, the sales pitch and the initial treatment was spot on. I told company representative that we quit our last contractor because my wife watched the serviceman drive up our driveway, write a door hanger ticket and drive away. $90 and no equipment left the vehicle. The Home Paramount employee was appalled and guaranteed that was not the way the do business. I'm an idiot and believed him. He spent over 30 minutes treating my 3 1/2 acres and left with a handshake and a quarterly service agreement; fast forward to the fourth treatment. The employee came to my door and announced he would be applying the quarterly. I said have at it and thank you. Not 4minutes later my driveway alarm chime went off in the house and I watch the Home Paramount employee leave the property. It would take half of that time to get materials out much less treating a nearly 4 acre project. I talked with the service "manager" and he assured me he would get to the bottom of it and call me back. NO CALL BACK. Another follow up call. HES NOT AVAILABLE. This company is a joke. I ended up paying my balance and canceling service to avoid collections issues. It's not worth my time. I'm guessing that's the business model they've built and that's sustained them over the years. This service is horrible. I got suckered into purchasing a year- long contract. The tech came to lay traps for bugs. Each month he was supposed to spray with a natural pest control, pick up the old traps and replace with new ones. When I went to our basement after the tech left, I found several of the old bug traps still there with tons of bugs on them. We pay 132 each month to have a tech show up at the house and he can't even take the time to replace the old traps??? Really. What a racket. I called to cancel the service and rather than do the right thing - admit the problem and cancel my monthly payments, the manger refused. Now we're paying through July 2021. No ethical compass at this company. Shame on me for trusting Paramount and shame on the company for bad business practices. read more

The initial technician who comes out and evaluates your yard and goes over your contract is great! However the guys they send out to spray do not follow the contracts, they did not even go into our backyard which was the main reason we signed up for their services. They had us pay in advance for the whole year and would not refund us when their guys didn't spray. We were home when he knocked on the door, he hung a "we missed you sign" on the door knob and left! When we called the manager they just said they would send him back out but this is not the first time they have done this. If you do choose them make sure you watch them spray everything you pay for or have cameras! We will never use this company again!! read more

I did termite and pest control services. When this was explained to me I was told there was a $400 per year cost for services. I received an unexpected bill for $100. I called to inquire and was told they were two different services and it will be a total of $800 a year, which was never explained to me. read more

They said my new time was scheduled for 12-2 which I wasn't not notified about until deciding to call. Home Paramount has been servicing our home for the last 3 years, primarily for evil centipedes. We dealt with the centipede problem for about a year before they came out so I can say with certainty that their service works. In fact, it worked so well, I felt compelled to send them a holiday card! However, they often have to come back out twice a quarter as opposed to once a quarter. This could be because we live in a low, wet neighborhood with lots of pests or it could be because of something they're doing/not doing. We request the same service guy each time and he is wonderful. Friendly and gets the job done. I do wish, however, that the service guys were required to wear slip-on shoe covers since they're walking on our carpet. read more

this is the worst pest control business ever, they destroyed my apartment. i purchased a new bedroom suit, a new sofa and the pest control technicians they sent were extremely disrespectful and destructive of my furniture. one of the men used the bathroom while my daughter was in her bedroom. they tore the hinge off the door when they entered my apartment, they also stole important documents after ransacking a box of my personal inforfmation. they tore a big gaping hole at the bottom of my mattress after ransacking my bedroom and not putting the furniture back like how they found it, they made scratches on my bedpost, and stole three dresses from me. ive attached pictures of how i left my apartment and what i returned to. as well as the stack of papers they ransacked and the damage to my bedroom furniture. read more

They came out to my house for bird mites. They wouldn't even come in to make a positive identification they just took my guesstimate not saying I'm wrong but I don't know that I am right they are the professionals not me. The man claimed he would bring a team of men and said the professional chemicals I was using was nothing compared to theirs and that he'd be using gas. Said my attic, perimeter, crawl space, bedrooms every crevice every nook every cranny, every drawer, basically spot in my house every item. He would finish my sentences like he knew how serious this was and being as my kids have been sent to live family seven months ago and me my husband should probably be hospitalized because of our terrible conditions from bites. He also got paid extra for our vehicle and carport where the bird nest was found in our dryer vent. I told him we can't use our heat because the bugs blow out with it and he acted like he got it and it would all be handled. None of that happened no attic, crawl space, no nooks no crannys, cabinets, no ventilation system. He sent one inexperienced man (inexperienced to bird mites or mites in general the man said he usually treated for fleas and bed bugs) and the man sprayed just my floors like he was spraying for fleas. He was using the same stuff we used not gas and he used less than what we use in one room for our whole entire four bedroom 3 story house. The guy tried I guess but he was sent unprepared and didn't even have protection on and these mites are not joke they hit you and take ur entire body over in a flash and it can cause swelling and slow healing wounds that are extremely painful. They told us to be gone but thank Jesus we weren't because we'd never know how badly we were lied to. We've run out of money for hotels and I have to bury my grandmother tomorrow who died the day of the extermination, and I am stuck sitting on my porch with my kids freezing because we are terrified to go in being as I can't spend 7 hours in a tub trying to get the bugs off before the funeral. I can feel them getting on me from the porch. I am hurt, let down and disgusted and I do not take being scammed well. I have wrote them multiple emails asking for either a refund or for them to come back and do what they said they do and I've heard nothing back. Do not hire these people especially if you have a serious problem that needs help maybe if you just have fleas or something go for it whatever but anything else do not hire these people. I have been a home paramount customer for over 10 years with multiple homes concurrently. Fees were always debited from my bank after service so money was never a factor. The service they provided or in the case of my dad's house (was in hospice care in 2018) didn't perform is my point of issue. Not only did they not perform service yet were paid, when I called them out with the proof service wasn't performed and set up a meeting with the territory's manager he didn't show up for the meeting. When I called to cancel service he actually asked if I was really going to cancel service JUST because he didn't show up for an appointment. When I replied yes he cancelled service and they came and removed the termite stations. Not one time even though repeated messages were left for upper managers and owners did anyone contact me. I hope they are proud of ripping off a heavily decorated veteran of 2 wars who has since died. read more

Ok, when you get "Termite Protection" you would think you're getting a policy that would cover the home... and God forbid you do get termites after their treat you would think they would cover the damages. But they DON'T. You're on your own for the repairs. When I investigated pest control companies and asked why I should go with them they're answer was them "We just like them but local". Its pretty Ridiculous that I paid the exact same thing the other companies charge.... and got absolutely no warranty. And on another note, we had Pest control with them for ants and spiders. The technicians are just Horrible....Rude and Mean and look like they slept in the gutter all night. When we discover a baby rat snake in our house we asked if they could do something about it. They told us it would be an additional cost to spread some snake repellent. So in calling other Pest control companies about it they laughed and said it was a Standard Pest they control unless its a massive infestation. Great company. I use them for both my main residence as well as my place near the beach. Here in Severna Park at our primary residence, Daryl is our service technician. He does all of our pest control and mosquito services. He's very trustworthy, incredibly knowledge, and super friendly. We could not be happier with the service he provides us with. And the folks at the office have always been super nice when I've called in. The quarterly service they provide us with pretty much takes care of needs. I highly recommend them. read more

I've been using Home Paramount the last several years. But, they either have a change in personnel and/or sales mission that is now poorly reflected on their service. They are impersonal. Difficult to get a return call; and they did not share information about failing to perform a requested service because they claim it's not part of the regular service maintenance contract although it has been the last several years. Since I was not home, I could not oversee the work, and the service techinician did not leave a receipt with notes as usual. The experience with both the corporate office and Annapolis office was a disapointment and overall very disappointing. Their apparent interest in bagging more sales than focusing on customer service has left me to switch companies for one that makes customer satisfaction a priority. read more

The absolute worst! Believe it or not I have been with this company for 3 years now with a maintenance contract. It has been disappointment after disappointment, from not showing up to not calling to cancel service calls, to not completely taking care of my pest issues. I have complained several times but I've just been too busy to research and find another company to work with, until today. I never write reviews but right now I am done! I have had a mice problem since I've been with the company and still have them. The tech just comes out and set the traps and leave me to dispose of the mice. I kept suggesting that the mice may be getting in from this one area of the house and the tech told me how to go about sealing that area up, what? Is that not what I pay you to do? So I did. Tech never found out how the mice are still getting in. I've had silverfish that I complained about for 2 years. The tech refused to go up in the attic but kept insisting that I have someone to replace the insulation, so I complained and the supervisor came out, went in the attic, sprayed, took care of the problem but it took 2 years for that to happen. I had enough of finding the silverfish in my bed so after going postal on the service rep one day, they sent the manager out. I've had other issues (ground hogs, squirrels and birds) which I've been told by the techs that "they don't handle" and told me to call an animal control company. But you can best believe that every quarter they would show up religiously on my doorstep to spray the exterior of my home to collect on the maintenance contract. These have to be the laziest bunch of people, always passing the buck, and they really don't care about your opinion of them when they leave you hanging. Now I have bees in a wall of the house. Called today for a Tech and couldn't get through to a rep after 4 attempts. Finally pretending to be a prospective new contract holder, someone picked up the phone. Hopefully they will take care of the bee problem because after this I will take my money elsewhere. When I think of all the money that I've wasted with these people it makes my angry, but it's my fault, I should have moved on after the 1st two complaints and not renewed my contract. read more

by far the worst experience i have ever had...they were great at selling me, but when the work actually began, it was like having to watch children all day...they had no idea what to do or where to start. had to constantly check on their work and tell them what to do next. when they broke a valuable item in our home valued at almost $2,000, they said they would replace or pay us for it and never did...they never came back and then said that we cancelled the contract. every week, we still receive their recorded message on our phone saying they are coming out to visit. what a mess read more
